Sometimes, Lisanna found herself simply watching her friends in sweet contentedness, basking in the knowledge that they were there with her and that all was right in the world for now. Her eyes were on Natsu now, a soft smile touching her lips, her heart and eyes warm with affection. She couldn't resist moving closer, sitting beside him and linking her arms around his, leaning against his side and savoring the familiar warmth he provided. She sighed and simply hugged him tighter, unable to find words in the moment to express how glad she was that he was alive and well, and that they were together again. // fairybond 🥺

there was something in the air, natsu was not sure what exactly it was. but did it matter? it was certainly POSITIVE, this winter night. the guild was quieter now, with everyone huddled in their own corner and that was where natsu was with lisanna. it was nice. it was peaceful and he just finished his fourth s'mores.

natsu turned to look at lisanna, to ask her if she wanted anything else only to find she was starring at him. he smiled back, a bit confused at first but nonetheless accepting of the attention. there was a look on her face, one he had not seen before. that was a thought that merely brought forth elation that erupted in his chest. only two days prior, he was SO SURE there would NEVER be an opportunity to see a new expression from lisanna. his lisanna. the one who hatched happy with him, the one he played house with (and levy), the one who teased him all the time and attempted to get under his skin just enough to get him going but never enough to truly hurt — his best friend. the one he lost before he knew it. just like igneel.

when lisanna moved closer and wrapped herself around him like a snake, natsu attempted some humor, "what, ya cold or somethin'?". but they both knew it wasn't that. their hearts knew different. natsu smiled, a rare hidden one with no boisterous energy — a soft energy wrapping around them in a warm blanket. she was not cold. that was impossible abound him.

"i missed you, too." natsu whispered just for her ears. a soft secret released into the wind.
