Is it just my impression or does the fandom seem to have become less creative in the past year? I rember back when TBC first came out there were lots of MAPs, PMVs and AMVs, but I haven't seen much content about the new arc. I might be wrong tough, after all I haven't been in the fandom for a while and only came back recently, but in general I get the impression the fandom got less creative in the last year and a half.

I think one big reason is that the map community just seems to have greatly lost momentum recently, I think since the whole Cheeteh Z thing. That caused a lot of people to step back or quit from either the warriors fandom or animation.

There are a few asc map projects being worked on but I think the only one that is actually making significant progress that I can think of is Opal (about Frostpaw).

Obviously I am still seeing PMVs and AMVs be made but not a whole lot for the most recent arc which is kind of bizarre given how popular the arc is and how well it’s being received. But there are definitely still a few out there and they are very good (a few of my favs are asc specific), but not nearly as many as TBC had going on when that was being published.

I will say I am still seeing a lot of fanart for asc! It’s just the animation side of things that has seen less output for this arc.

It doesn’t operate in other places too if people would take time to read it instead of constantly citing this when seeing an ask from a gfm account. People will ignore the other countries to point to one of them and call it a day.

Don’t listen to people/anons who comment like this on your posts. They’re being ignorant on purpose.

Family/friends can do what they need to. That’s a fact that gets waved away and dismissed in order to continuously spread the false information that every gfm ask you get is a bot.

Gfm doesn’t operate in multiple places so consistently stating just one is ignoring what else is there.

Okay I'll speak a thought

It's hard for me to take 'does Curlfeather deserve to go to The Dark Forest' seriously because I believe the dark forest is an inherently flawed system no cat really deserves to go to

It's hammered in that it's an entirely horrible place to exist in, and there's no incentive or opportunities for cats to change their ways, learn better, or get help if a lack of it contributed to their actions already. And even when they do manage to do so, there's still no hope for them. They're still stuck in Cat Hell, surrounded !!for eternity!! by the unmonitored violence of the other df cats.

The only cat who got close as far as I know was Juniperclaw, who has to serve Starclan in a tunnel forever without ever being allowed to join them.

Seemingly, the only way for these cats to really change their situation from there is by breaking through on their own, usually through the use of violence, so I'm Not surprised the great battle [OOTS] came about.

Not to mention if we go off what we learned of Snowtuft in TBC, they don't even remember what they did to be in the dark forest after enough time has passed, so at that point it seems exceedingly cruel.

Of course these cats, including Curlfeather, deserve to face consequences for their actions, but the dark forest seems like a pointless way of just causing more pain for the sake of it. And it's the same punishment regardless of the crime, while we know many cats who arguably do things of the same severity are allowed into Starclan just fine

I could say so much more I have so many thoughts but I don't want this to get too long

being so honest right now heathertail should’ve taken every plotline given to harestar and then built on them & it’s a disservice to the po3-oots arcs that she didn’t. she has a disregard for the parts of the code she disagrees with, and she’s been turned away by a member of the three as a result, first with compassion but then viciously, with him swearing her as his enemy and threatening her straight after nearly murdering her mentor. he comes close to killing her and the book tells us she *knows* it.

seeing the dark forest pick up on this rivalry, on the way she’s been unfairly treated by lionblaze, and taking advantage of it would have been really interesting. it would have given way more set-up to her relationship with breezepelt and given her more agency in it then being the wife who fixes him later on. it would’ve given her an arc of her own. it would have given her a long-lasting and present relationship with lionblaze, making his chapters significantly stronger. seeing this rebellious little apprentice go from a friendly presence to a serious threat created by the flaws of the main character & the clan system would be fun.

and then eventually, after lionblaze has lost his powers and is struggling, we would see heathertail grow behind the scenes and eventually ascend to leadership of windclan. maybe they would reconcile, maybe they would remain a bitter reminder to each other of the past and what could have been, of childhood friendship tarnished with clan patriotism and needless violence. who knows. but id love to read about it.
