Random thoughts on kmovie The Table.
So, I watched this movie last night and I like it very much to the point that i think i should make a post about it.
Tumblr media
The Table is a movie with four stories in it. They set the movie in a coffee shop, at a specific table. And I think that’s related to the title as they made the movie from the perspective of the table.
Here’s the synopsis by AsianWiki:
At a table and over a period of a day, four different conversations take place. The conversations are between an actress and her ex-boyfriend, a man and a woman who had a one night stand, a woman and the woman who will play her mother at her wedding and, lastly, a woman about to marry and her ex-boyfriend.
I find the movie is so pretty. I dont know if this kind of movie is for everyone because i kinda have feeling that some people will find it boring, especially for those who love action or movies with spectacular scenes, but me like it very much.
I dont really understand how to make a movie, but i think, and please correct me if i’m wrong, it’s really difficult to make this kind of movie because the risk to be a boring movie is bigger. They took all of the scenes in one place only and relied much on how the actors expressed them self in the conversation.
Here i can say that the actors are so great. They expressed their characters very well. And of course, the shots of the movie are also beautiful. They successfully  built the warm mood with those beautiful yet simple shots and music. The movie is kinda short compared to the other movies but they delivered the story very well.
Last but not least, i want to say that Jeon Sung Woo, the actor from the second story, is soo cute. LOL. OMG, the way he laugh is so adorable. I’m in love, obviously.

Everyone go watch ‘Misty’!!!
Hellowwww. It’s been a while yorubun *lol, as if people read this blog*.
Tumblr media
So, I’m here to rant about one of my favorite kdrama for 2018 so far. MISTY.
To be honest, when I saw the poster for the first time, I wasn’t interested at all. The poster looks so dark and gloomy. I thought it was a super mellow romance drama with so many tears to invest in each episode and my life is depressing enough lately so I don’t need another stress.
But then I saw someone made short thoughts about this drama on Twitter, and just like that, I decided to check the first two episodes.
I watched it with a super low expectation. I was 100% that this drama was not my type, and I only watched it to prove myself that I’m right. Yap, turns out,i’m totally wrong because the drama was SO GOOD.
So Misty was a drama about a woman named Go Hyeran (Kim Nam Joo). She’s a famous announcer, an ambitious one with an awesome charisma just like everyone’s favorite femme fatale. She was that kind of person who knows what she wants and knows how to achieve it. She was smart, strong and brave. It’s so easy to love her. Hyeran had a husband, Kang TaeWook (Ji Jin Hee). He was a prosecutor but now live as a public defender, a really kind man who lives to defend people who can’t afford a lawyer. Their marriage was in trouble after Hyeran prioritized her career over their relationship. They started to sleep in different place and didnt really talk to each other. One day, Hyeran had to make an exclusive interview with a famous Korean golfer, Kevin Lee, if she wanted to save her position as the main announcer in her company. And that was the beginning of all the tragedy. Turns out, the golfer was her ex who now married to her high school best friend. The golfer kept asking to meet Hyeran no matter how hard Hyeran tried to push him back. Until the day when the golfer was found died in a car accident and the cops decided it was not an accident case, and they put Hyeran as the main suspect, and her husband came as her lawyer.
What I like the most from this drama is how the director and the writer make the characters grow into someone different with who you think they are. They slowly make you understand them. So, it’s full of twist. Just when you think someone is bad or someone is the real killer, the story moved into another possibility. It plays with your emotion and that was really awesome.
Even until last week, after 14 episodes, I was still with my opinion that Hyeran’s and Kevin Lee’s spouses are the most painful characters in this drama. And just last night when I was stunned after watching the last ep, I realized that I was wrong. For all this time, it was Hyeran that deserved all of our sympathy. She was just a kid who wants to achieve her dream, and she is still a woman who keeps chasing that dream. It’s not her fault if people choose to stay beside her, to defend her, to love her.
This drama shows you a different perspective about having someone who loves you so much to the point they will give you everything was not really a sweet story for everyone. How many times a kdrama tried to tell us that having someone who loves you so much and want to do everything for you is so sweet and everybody wants to hear a story like that. Misty was different. This drama gave you a different point of view. Sometimes being someone who was loved by so many people is not always a pleasing experience.
Anyway, thumbs up for this brilliant drama. Good story, unexpected plot, awesome characters, brilliant cast, kudos to all the team.

Thoughts on Heart Blackened movie.
Tumblr media
So, i just watched this movie yesterday, and it’s pretty good.
Actually, if you are familiar with the cast, i think most of u will probably just click this movie, wont u? It has Choi minsik, park shinhye and ryu junyeol as actors in the movie poster. For me personally, Choi minsik himself is enough to be a ‘click bait’. LOL. Tho i was there for Ryu Junyeol my babe. ><
The movie tells a story about the owner of a big company, an old man (Choi minsik), who dated a famous singer named Yoona. He has a daughter named Mi Ra but she doesnt really like her daddy’s girlfriend. One day, Yoona died, and the Mi Ra became the main suspect of the incident. The whole movie was trying to figure out whether Mi Ra is the real suspect or not.
Tho it was not that intense, this movie did a good job in bringing the thrilling experience. You will keep guessing whether Mira did it or not. AND THE PLOT TWITS tho...
I like how this movie is trying to be ‘grey’. U know... most movies came with a fix rules about the right and wrong, the good and bad, the hero and the villain, this movie wasnt following that kind of plot. This movie is kinda make u feel a mix feeling in the end, how everything is not like what it really looks like. How often we doubt someone sincerity when we know nothing at all about them.
There was this one scene when Choi Minsik apologized to Lee honey and i just found it really beautiful.
And as for the acting, instead of talking about minsik ahjussi, park shinye and junyeolie oppa who we all know already got a spotlight for their brilliant acting skill, i want to praise Lee sookyung and Jo Hanchul who portrayed their character really well. I was really moved by Jo Hanchul’s in this movie.
Anyway, i will give an 8/10 for this movie. It’s really worth a try, guys.

Thoughts on Prison Playbook (Wise Prison Life).
So, if you are a big fan of Reply series like me, of course you’ve been waiting for this drama ever since the news of Shin Won Ho work on a new project was everywhere in the news site. I just trust him that much after Reply. Tho I still try to move on from the best broken heart experience after Reply 1988.
Prison Playbook have a different setting from Shin Won Ho’s previous project. He also worked with a different writer-nim this time. I remember when i recommend Reply 1988 to someone and he said he’s not interested because the cast are so ugly. LIKE.... DUDE, HOW CAN YOU... Shin Won Ho kangdong nim is such a genius, you’re doing life wrong for never give his drama a try.
So, Prison Playbook is basicly a drama about life in prison. A famous baseball player Kim Je Hyuk was arrested after killing the man who want to rape his sister, and the drama was telling the story about his life in prison and everyone around him.
As usual, Shin Won Ho is famous for having a great list of character. I find so many different characters with different stories but every story was explored very well. You will find some new face in this drama, another signature of Shin Won Ho, as he always cast a not so famous actor for the main character of his drama and end up making the world open their eyes to see that the actor is worth every attention.
This drama gave you a warm feeling. It had the best humor in every episode, yet it will touch you at the same time.
I dont know how it is like to live in prison because in some other movies, life in prison is not as good as what they show us in this drama. However, as you watch it, you will understand that what this drama is trying to tell us is that everyone, wherever they are, even people who you might think have commit the biggest crime, they may have a story to tell, a reason for what they’ve done, that some of them deserve a second chance, that they are human too, that they want to be treated like one.
Tumblr media
And because this is a prison, of course there’resome  bad people that you wish will never have to go out prom the prison. There’re also people who keep making the same mistake. I know i said this is a drama that will touch your heart, but it isnt some kind of utopia where everyone got their best happy ending. Well, that’s what makes it realistic imo.
Anyway, kudos to all the drama team. You guys did a great job for this project. I LOVE YOU. Thank you for making me laugh and cry so hard for this few months.
And for you who dont watch it yet, please do me a favor, go watch it! It’s worth every second of your life.

Am i the only one who actually think Hwayugi is so bad? I’m sorry for such an unpopular opinion. On my defense, i have tried so hard not to stop and skip when i watch the first two episodes and still... failed. I start to blame my expectation tbh. Like, look at all those cast, you will automatically set a high expectation for such a cast list, really. Despite the fact that they all act very well, i didnt see much chemistry between the cast. Most of the scenes lack of sincerity and... and the CGI, omg... why does the CGI looks so cheap?
But hey, it’s just an opinion based on two episodes. I hope something or someone will change my perception later.

Rest in Peace, Angel.
This is really heart breaking.
I used to listen to shinee’s songs all day.
Their songs mean so much to me.
All of them means so much to me.
And knowing that it’s hard for him for all this time, to the point that he couldnt take it anymore, it just breaks my heart, really. It hurts.
I wish you find the peace you are looking for, kim jonghyun.
I wish you are happy wherever you are.
Just know that we will always remember you. You did well.
You’ve worked hard.
We cant be more thankful for that.
Rest in peace, Angel.

Thoughts on ‘Argon’.
I’ve been waiting for the subtitle of this drama for weeks. When it was airing, most kdrama website didn’t upload the subtitle. Some of them upload the raw version but how can I watch it… hiks (the struggle of non Korean fans is real).
Tumblr media
Anyway, it just happens that a week ago the website where I usually watch kdrama was finally uploading Argon. I finish watching all 8 episodes in two days.
To be honest, Chun Woo Hee is the first reason for me to watch this drama. I really love her. I first knew her in Sunny, when she got a small role as a bad kid in the high school. Her acting was mesmerizing. She is really that good there (You should really try Sunny if you don’t watch it yet). And this is like her first drama after she got many roles in movie.  According to Asian Wiki, she did have one drama before tho, Vampire Idol.
Here is the synopsis of Argon as what Asian Wiki wrote in their page:
Kim Baek-Jin (Kim Ju-Hyeok) is an anchor, reporter and leader of investigative reporting team "Argon." He does not tolerate mistakes and relies only on facts.
Meanwhile, Lee Yeon-Hwa (Chun Woo-Hee) is a contract reporter. 6 months before her contract is to end, she is assigned to work at “Argon.” She struggles to get a permanent job there as a reporter. Working with Kim Baek-Jin, she receives strict training and grows as a reporter.
I like the story in every Argon episodes. They got different story for every episode, and each of them is well written. They also bring some common issues like the struggles of contract worker, or that getting job from your relatives doesn’t mean everything will be easy because often times, your fellow co worker will just take that one fact whenever they got the chance. Life is hard for everyone.
What I like the most from this drama is the fact that they really made it into a story about a team, not just famous and mad leader vs a stupid new employee. They show us how Kim Baek Jin cares about this team, and how he tried to help all of them grows as a good reporter who only relies on fact and tell the truth.
The chemistry between the cast is also one good point that you can really expect from this drama, especially the cute relationship of Park Won Sang and Park Hee Von. And I think I need to praise Cho Hyun Chul too for his cute performance (you might knew him in Coin Locker Girl).
Last but not least, my condolence goes to Kim Ju Hyeok’s family and all of his friends. It’s kind of sad to watch this after what happen to him. I might not a fan, but I really like him in 1N2D. He was really adorable with his awkward personality. Rest in peace, Kim Ju Hyeok ahjussi, we will miss you.

Thoughts on ‘Witch’s Court’
Tumblr media
I’ve seen people watched many drama these days and talked about them but I don’t really see them buzzing about Witch’s court on my timeline, that’s why I feel like this drama deserves more love and recognition (though my friend said the rating is quite good in SK), and I’ll try to put my thoughts on today’s post.
So Witch’s Court is a drama about special division that dealing with sex crimes only, casted Jung Ryeo Won and Yoon Hyun Min as the lead.
I know Korean drama series has provide us so many crime dramas, but to be honest, I don’t really remember they have a drama with this kind of division before. See people usually put more interest and attention into corruptor case, a big drug dialer or human trafficking scandal but not into sex crime. What make it worse, there’re so many judgmental people who will easily blame the victims. That is one of many other things that they want to point in this drama. They even have a case where the victim is a guy and I am totally agree with the message behind it. Sex crime can happen to anyone from any gender, any sexual orientation. It can happen to you and me, even little kids around us.
Sexual harassment is not a new thing, but there are so many people who don’t feel uncomfortable to talk about it.  And I think that is what they want to try to tell us in this drama, that the less we talk about it, the more perpetrators are walking around freely. So, that is one good point from a kdrama and we should appreciate it.
The chemistry between jung ryeo won and yoon hyun min is also good, tho you might have seen those kind of relationship in many other kdramas. LOL. You know what I mean right, those dramas when the lead male and female are having opposite personality, fight a lot in the beginning, but then they realize that both of them misjudged each other and that’s when they start having feeling for each others.
I don’t really like Ma Yi Deum’s character in the beginning. She’s too sassy and careless. But as I watch more episodes, I start to like her.
I know I’m suck at making a review. You cant even call this a review, can you? LOL. If you like crime and prosecutors drama, I think you will like this one.

Movie recommendation for your Halloween.
To be honest, I really like thriller movies but I hate ghost. I mean, I’m kinda okay with a movie where everyone kills each other as long as no ghost involved. I am afraid of Ghost, especially Asian kind of ghost like Sadako; damn that girl is scary af.
So, my recommendation will not be a ghost movie but it will give you the same creeps I swear.
1.  I  Saw The Devil.
This movie is starring Choi Min sik and Lee byung hun, even for these two names, people will probably find it promising already.
Tumblr media
The story is about revenge by an NIS agent Kim Soo Hyun (Lee Byung Hun) whose fiancé was brutally killed by a psychopathic murderer, Jang Kyung Chul (Choi Min Sik). You can read the synopsis or the plot in Wikipedia.
For me, the scariest parts on this movie are all the scenes when Jang Kyung Chul tried to get his victims. There’s something in his eyes that got me feeling uncomfortable while watching the movie. And what makes this movie interesting is the way Kim Soo Hyun did his revenge. He was torn between good and bad, he slowly became just as sadistic as the psychopath. He didn’t just kill, he terrorized him. Soohyun caught Kyung Chul so many times; he attacked kyungchul until he was battered but then he let him go. He did it again and again. Catched, then let it go. Soohyun tortured him physically and mentally, and the way he ended kyung chul ‘s life is a smart yet horrific way to end someone life.
And please note that you will find many disturbing scenes from this movie.
2. Silenced
This movie is actually categorized as a drama, but trust me, it is scary as fuck.
Tumblr media
It is based on a novel ‘Dokani’, and the novel was inspired on a true incident which occurred at hearing-impaired persons in Kwangju, South Korea. But the movie was set in Mujin. It’s starring Gong Yoo Jung Yoomi and some child actors like Kim Hyun Soo, Baek Seung Hwan and Jung In Seo.
So, the story was about a school where Kang In Ho (Gong Yoo) was appointed as a new teacher. It didn’t take too long until In Ho found out that the school is a problematic one. Then together with Jung Yumi who was an employee at Mujin Human Rights Center, they tried to reveal all the things that happened in that school to the world.
This movie got so many disturbing scenes about child abuse. And the way the director shoot every scene made it more scary; minimal light, empty school hallway, old building, evil character, it will haunt you.
