"Jungwon-ssi!" I hiss. "What's 13²?" he mouths something. "Huh?"

"Y/n! Are you copying again?" Sunghoon pats my head. "Jungwon-ah don't help her. She needs to pass tomorrow's test on her own."

We are having a math test tomorrow. I hate maths. Sunghoon hates it but can do it. He offers to help me after school. Jungwon and I decide to study at his place.

"Tell me the square root of 169? Y/n?" Sunghoon says. I side glance at Jungwon, who shrugs at me. "9?" Sunghoon narrows his eyes at me. "0!"

"0? Y/n we went through it already. square root of 169 is 13," he says.

"Well, that's what I meant then," I flop onto the couch. "I got an idea! You can just help me during the exam tomorrow."

"Sunghoon? Help during exam? It will totally happen," he said sarcastically.

"I can't," Sunghoon shrugs. I pout. "But I will teach you again." I groan as he tells me how to solve the question again.

Sunghoon and I sit on the couch after Jungwon leaves. He is constantly looking at his phone. I sigh hoping that he will notice me. I get suspicious when he smiles at the screen. What is looking at?

I strain my eyes to look at the screen, but he tilts the phone away, as if purposefully. "Yah! Are you cheating on me?" I grab the phone from his hands.

"Wait, Y/n!" he says. "It's not what you think it is."

"Then lemme see!" I look at the screen. "'Ways to pass notes in class.' What?" I ask him.

"I wanted to help you silly. For tomorrow's test!"

"Oh. Here!" I handed him the phone, embarrassed. He starts to laugh.

"You know big words Y/n! Cheating? Man!" he teases me. I slap him lightly.

"Don't ever do that again," I pout.

"What did I even do? Should I not help you tomorrow?" he says and I pout more.

"Fine. Sorry."

"What? I can't hear you." he smirks.

"I SAID SORRY!" I move closer to him and yell. But he wraps his arms around my wait and pecks my lips.

"I forgive you." he smiles.

"Sleep with me tonight," I say as I get on the bed.

"What? No, I will sleep on the couch." But I grab him by his t-shirt and pull him beside me. I smile and he smiles back.

"I don't know about this Y/n," he says. "What if I hurt you?"

"I know that you will be the last person to hurt me."

I put my arm around him and close my eyes.

Your boyfriend, Park Sunghoon, removes his hands from your eyes. You see a huge amusement park in front of you. Sunghoon appears beside you with a smile. 

“Sunghoon!“ you giggle. You wanted to go to an amusement park together since forever, but you both had no time between school. 

“Today is my baby’s birthday,“ he brings his face near yours. “So I bought tickets.“ He waves the tickets before you. You try to reach them, but he moves it further up. He laughs at your cuteness. But between his laughs, his hands comes down, and you snatch the tickets and run into the park. He quickly chases you. 

“It’s nice that my birthday is on a weekend,“ you say as you swing Sunghoon’s hands. “It’s not crowded. We can ride everything!“ You giggle and Sunghoon brings you closer to him by your waist. 

Before you reach the rides, Sunghoon leads you to a souvenir shop. “Tada!” you pulls out two identical dog ear headbands. “It’s so cute,” he places one on your head. You take the other one from his hand and places it on his head. 

"Let’s go to carousel!” you pull his hand and leads him to the carousel. He climbs on the horse beside you. “Let’s take a picture.” You snaps a few pictures before the ride starts. 

Once the ride’s over, you guys head to a castle like ride. “Let me take your picture,” you say. 

“No, wait,“ he taps a woman nearby and asks her to take your picture. 

“Ready,“ the women says as you pose. A second before she clicks the picture, Sunghoon turns you towards him and places his lips on yours. “Got it!“ 

“Do you want to go the zombie house?“ Sunghoon asks. 

“But, you are scared of zombies right?” you say. 

“No! I am not scared at all,“ he stutters and you laugh. “I shall be your knight in shining armour against the zombies.“

But inside the zombie house, he clings on your back and keeps on screaming at every turn. By the end of the ride, his eyes were teary. 

“Are you okay?“ you ask as you feed him ice cream. “Are you still out of it?“

“I’m never going in there ever again,” Sunghoon says as he eats the ice cream. 

“Guess, I’m your knight in shining armour,“ you say and laugh. “You should have seen your face! Haha!“

Sunghoon pouts and turns his face away. To make him happy, you place a kiss on his cheek. “I should pout more often,” he says with a smug expression plastered on his face. 

You reach the final ride in the amusement park. “Let’s go do Big Swing!�� he says excitedly, but you could see his nervousness. “You have always wanted to do that.”

“That’s fine Sunghoon,“ you say. “You don’t have to do it, if it scares you.“

“It may be scary, but today is my Y/n-ie’s birthday. I’ll do anything for you.”

“But--“ he shuts you up with a kiss. 

“Just in case I die,“ he says after the kiss. 

You grip Sunghoon’s hand as you guys go up. Sunghoon keeps looking down and taking deep breaths. 

“Hey, I can ask them to stop,“ you say with concern.”It’s fine.“

“No no, I can do it,” he says gripping your hand tighter. “Please, just don’t leave me.“ 

“Never.“ The ride pushes you both towards the sky.

“Where?” you ask.

“It’s a surprise,” he leans in and your foreheads meet. You move back.

He opens the door for you. As we ride, you guys talk about school.

“It’s Sunghoon,” you say and decline the call. That makes Jungwoo grin. You half-heartedly smile back.

“Why is she not picking up?” I say to myself. I dial again. She declines.  

I dial Sunoo’s number. “Sunghoon-ah? Is y/n with you?”

Jungwoo. The name makes anger boil inside me. He must have taken her somewhere. But what hurts me is that she agreed to go with him.

I grab my mom’s car keys and leave my house.

“We are here,” Jungwoo pulls you inside. You guys are in a pub. The music is blasting through the speaker, people dancing and drinking. Jungwoo takes you to a corner. I spot Jaehi, a girl who hates you fro being with Sunghoon, and her friends along with few other boys.

“Look who’s here!” Jaehi sneers. Her friends giggle. Your face steams with shame. “Y/n, I didn’t know you drink.”

“Jungwoo,” You pull his hand. “I cannot be here. I am leaving.”

“Hey, chill ok?” he pushes you onto a seat. “Have drink and party with us.”

“Give her this,” one of the boys passes a plush bunny hat. Jungwoo puts it on you. The other laugh and snaps pictures of you.

“You look cute, Y/n,” Jungwoo bends towards you. He leans in. He is way too close to you.

“Jungwoo, please, I want to leave,” you say.

“Sssh, I told you. I will take you home, safe and sound,” He places his hands on your shoulder. He leans in to kiss. Tears wait in your eyes to fall. You close your eyes as if everything will stop if you do. But Jungwoo’s lips never reaches yours. You open your eyes.

Y/n gets up and moves behind me.

“Sunghoon, go away,” Jungwoo sneers. “She came with me. She agreed to come with me.”

I push him to the table. Bottles and cups fall off.

“Sunghoon stop, please,” Y/n pleads. “Please Sunghoon.”

I let go of him. Jungwoo pushes me off. I grab y/n’s wrist and head to the exit. I don’t stop walking till we reach the car.

You let the tears flow as you guys ride in the car. Sunghoon doesn’t speak.

He finally speaks when we reach your studio. “Why didn’t you leave?”

“I don’t know,” you manage between your sobs. “I didn’t know.”

Sunghoon takes your face in his hands and turn it towards him. “Hey, it’s okay,” he whispers. “you’re going to be fine.”

“Sunghoon, they took pictures of me.”

“I am not going to leave you just because of some stupid pictures ok?”

You nod. You rub your eyes and get out of the car. “Thanks and bye,” You say.

“Bye Neha,” he says. You walk to the door.

You take your usual spot in the bus on your way back home. Sunghoon sat in the front with Jake. Jungwon, Sunoo and Jay sat on the other side of them. You realize that school playboy, Junghoon had also boarded the bus. He’s know to be lowkey flirt of your school. The boys had warned you about him before but you never expected to actually meet him. 

Junghoon catches you eyes and grins. Shit, you think. He flops beside you and you push yourself more towards the window. 

“Hey,“ Junghoon says. “Y/n right?“

“Yeah,“ you say trying to drop the conversation. 

“You played well today,“ he says. He, unfortunately, picked you for his team for P.E. Honestly he was the worst player ever. 

“You did too,“ you try to smile. 

“Yeah totally,“ Jungwon says in the front. “At missing the balls. He totally nailed it.“ 

"Don't make me throw you out of the bus, little one," Junghoon threatens. He turns back to you. "So, do you have a bf?"

“Best friend? Oh no,” you say even if you knew what he actually meant. 

"I meant boyfriend."

"I don't have that either."

"Oh, I bet everyone tried to get your attention." you shake your head. "I don't believe it. I can try you know..."

“Try what exactly?“ you back away towards the window. 

"To get your attention," he comes closer.  

Before you could respond, you feel someone's lip against your cheek. My face turns hot. You turn to see Sunghoon smiling at me. Junghoon looks shocked just like me. "Y/n-ie! You always tell everyone that you're not my girlfriend, babe."

You stutter. What? Since when? "I--" Sunghoon puts his finger against your lips.

"Don't say a word," he says. "Junghoon, sit with Jake. Lemme sit with my girlfriend."

You watch Junghoon sit beside Jake. Sunghoon moves towards your. You guys ride in silence.

Sunghoon winks and grins at me as he gets off the bus.

Girlfriend? Not in a million years! 

You enter your studio in shock. For a moment you don't know what to do, what to say, what to think.

You lay on my bed, rewinding the scene in your head. Was he playing with me?

Suddenly you hear your phone vibrate. The number first comes as unknown, then the True Caller recognizes it for you. It says: Park Sunghoon. He's video calling you.

Should I take it? What should I say? 

You take the call. His face pops up on your screen.

"Hey," he says. "Wait, where you sleeping already?"

"Huh? No. I was just laying down. Why did you call?" you say.

"I wanted to apologize about what happened in the bus... I shouldn't have done that."

"Right. You had no right to kiss me!" You blurt out.You were angry at him for not asking for permission.

"If I had waited for your permission, Junghoon would have kissed you on your lips by then. All I gave was a peck. Take it like a brotherly kiss. OK?"

You nod, almost grateful that he saved you from Junghoon.

"Well, now for Junghoon, you are my 'girlfriend'. He won't make you uncomfortable again."

"Thanks, I guess," You say.

"Ok then. See you tomorrow, bye."

You flop down to the floor. Your stomach hurt soooo much. You hated being a girl for this stupid reason. You hugged your stomach. You watched the rest of the people dance. You spotted you best friend since forever dance a feet away from you. You could tell him about your problem, but your didn’t know how. 

You went through your bag for the millionth time to check you had any pads left. You reminded yourself that you had a dance competition next week. You pushed yourself off the floor. Within two minutes of dancing, your stomach hurt so bad that you winced. 

“Hey you okay?“ Sunghoon asked. You nodded. “You don’t look okay. Are you seriously alright?” his eyes were filled with concern. You could help but shake your head. 

“I have a stomach ache,“ you managed to say. 

“Did you eat something bad?“ he placed his hand on your shoulder. You shook your head. “Then?“

“Umm,“ you tried to think of a way to tell him without making it awkward. “It’s kind of a girl problem i guess.“ you felt your cheeks burn as his eyes fell on you. 

“I don’t have any more of “that” to put on,“ you bit your lip nervously. Even if you guys have been friends forever you have never got yourself into such an awkward situation. 

“Do you want me to ask anyone?“ he got up to ask, but you push him down. 

“No no, please don’t,“ you said. “I can handle it. I can buy one when we leave.“

After you guys leave the studio, you check your pocket for money. “Shit,” you curse at yourself. You hadn’t brought any money. 

“What’s wrong?“ Sunghoon asked as if on cue. 

“I guess, I have to bare in pain till home.“ you sighed. 

“Why? I can buy you one,“ he says which makes you blush again. You silently hoped he wouldn’t see it. But he did. “Hey, come on y/n, we have been friends forever. There’s no need to be embarrassed.“ He wraps his arm around your shoulders and leads you to the shop. 

As you reach the store, you feel way to tired to walk. Sunghoon obviously noticed it. He makes you sit in front of the shop. “You stay, I’ll buy it and come quickly.” Before you could protest, he enters the shop. 

Within few minutes, he returns with black cinch bag. You gave him a questioning look. “It’s in here,” he pats the bag. 

You quietly slip into the nearest restroom.

When you return, you find Sunghoon with his back towards you. He turns when you reach him. 

“Thanks for this,“ you say. Even in the dark, you knew he could see you blush. 

“No worries at all,“ he grins. “But I’ll worry if you hide anything from me.“ He gives you a cute pout. You punch him lightly on the shoulder. 

“We better get going,“ you say. 

“Yeah, we should babe.“ he wraps his arm around your shoulder and pulls you in.
