Addison Rae Cast in Previously Fake 'Thanksgiving' Movie Addison Rae is making a fake movie... reality!Deadline reports that the TikTok dance mogul and aspiring actress has been cast in Eli Roth's upcoming horror movie Thanksgiving. She's joined by former heartthrob Patrick Dempsey, with Spyglass Media producing and Roth directing. The film, according to Deadline, is based on a fake movie trailer directed by Roth from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double feature Grindhouse.In the trailer, which is presented as an upcoming slasher in Grindhouse, a serial killer carves his way through a Massachusetts town celebrating its annual Thanksgiving traditions. A narrator can be heard in the fake trailer, saying, "An uninvited guest has arrived, and this year, there will be no leftovers." One memorable scene shows Roth beheaded mid-orgasm in a convertible.As Deadline notes, 15 years have passed since the release of Grindhouse, when talks first surfaced of an adaptation for Thanksgiving. This is not Rae’s first foray onto the silver screen. In 2018, she starred in the Belgian-German animated film Spy Cat, directed by Christoph and Wolfgang Lauenstein. She also appeared in the "gender-bent" remake He’s All That on Netflix. As Deadline notes, the remake was a part of her "massive" multi-million dollar deal with the streaming giant that "rivals" other big names with similar multi-picture deals. In a press release, Rae said of the deal: "Getting the opportunity to work with Netflix was such a pinch-me moment and now to be able to continue the relationship is beyond my wildest dreams. She went on to sign a record deal, tour internationally, star on a Snapchat reality show, and be the face of makeup line Copycat Beauty – all before her sixteenth birthday.

You just released your remix of “Bestie” with Megan Thee Stallion. How was it writing this track and working with Megan? Writing it was interesting because at first I didn’t like it, but then I was like 'Okay, it is kind of good.’ I thought it was corny at first, but yeah, in the end, I ended up liking it. Working with Megan was really easy. I sent it to her. She sent it back.

What changed your mind about liking it?

Everybody else liked it.

You’ve collaborated with a lot of big artists in the past year. Do you find collaborating comes naturally, or is it a fun challenge to find the common ground?

It’s pretty easy.

A lot of your fans, especially teenagers, look up to you. What advice do you have for young teens about being a teen, and working towards the future?

Do whatever makes you happy.

What do you do to unwind, relax and chill?

I play with my puppy. Her name is Rari, [she’s] a Pomeranian. It’s toy [size], so it’s like (makes small gesture with hands) this big.

Japan. It looks so fun over there. Asian Doll is over there right now, and all the pictures and stuff she’s been posting… It’s really cool.

What’s your favourite movie? House of Wax. It’s funny but it’s scary at the same time. It’s funny enough, so it’s not that scary.

You’re a female rapper - women have become a lot more represented in rap as of late, and you’ve collaborated with a lot of them. As a rising female artist, do you feel the need to represent that female presence?

Yes, I think it’s important that all females stand their ground. Like, we’re gonna be here and that’s what it is. I’m saying a lot of guys wanna even put us against each other, or anything to eliminate. They’re always trying to eliminate.

You’ve been building a brand lately outside of music. You just signed with Copycat, your own makeup line. How does it feel to go into that kind of project, and build your brand like that?

It’s interesting. I still have more I want to do, more things I wanna get into. I’m excited to be more open and building them.

What are some of the other things?

I wanna open a salon.

CONCERT REVIEW: BHAD BHABIE AT VENUE - MAY 10TH, 2019

Bhad Bhabie has a career that is infamous, unlikely, and historical. After debuting in the music world with “These Heaux” in 2017 at the tender age of 14, she's gone on to collaborate with many big names and tour internationally. This was her second time visiting Vancouver and performing at Venue.

It was an early all-ages show. Although the audience was mostly teenagers and young adults, I was amused to see some parents in the crowd with their children. I wondered if they were familiar with the music and knew what they were in for.

The opener, local rapper DaamCP, took the stage at 7 pm. He played a short 20-minute set, but nevertheless brought energy and hype to warm up the crowd. It was a great performance – loud, and full of beats and power.

Bhad Bhabie began at 8 pm. For the entire show, there was not a minute lacking in intensity, fun, or flow. It's hard to believe Danielle only just turned 16—her moves, style, and presence are that of a seasoned, much older artist. The girl is confident, candid, and proud, and it's really something that stands out on stage to be admired.

She was joined on stage by DJ Asia Shabazz and a hype woman/backup dancer. All three of them worked in synergy to create an immersive, interactive show. The entire set had constant shouting, dancing with each other, and air horns blaring during pretty much every song. It created a powerful show of feminine energy and expression of friends/musical partners comfortable and eager to give one hell of a show.

Bhad Bhabie is well known for her outrageous and often raunchy attitude and image, and a live show is no exception. She was constantly twerking and using many words that some would say are “inappropriate” for a teenager, although it does reflect how many teens talk. The unfiltered freedom 100% adds to the show – hearing a phrase like “I'm the same bitch I've always been, I'm a real ass bitch” is all the more impactful coming from someone who's barely old enough to get her learner’s permit. Her colourful commentary was sprinkled throughout—“Everybody's a dumb bitch for somebody” and “Bitches try to test me all the time” were just two of her quips. She also went on an equally-charged rant about females in the music industry, saying their time was coming whether men liked it or not—to massive applause.

Although the entire set was a quick 40 minutes, it was enough time to play most of her mixtape and hits. Songs like “These Heaux," “Gucci Flip Flops” and her latest, “Bestie,” came in rapid succession. I was impressed with the production, flow, and skill; she's genuinely a talented rapper on beat, with a refined sound and style that shows. This translated just as well in a live setting: her rapid pace, slightly sarcastic tone, and a voice that sounds even younger than her 16 years made for a really interesting and exciting show.

Bhad Bhabie is not everyone's cup of tea – her lyrical content, attitude, and image are divisive. But there's no denying she has an extraordinary life and career by anyone’s standards, let alone a high school student. She's out there giving it her best and being 100% herself, finding fame in unapologetic authenticity. She commands a crowd and stage better than many other artists I've seen. It's especially impressive for her age—but even if she wasn't a teen, she'd stand out. In fact, I've never seen anything quite like her show – it was an amazing, wild, slightly surreal experience.
