my younger brother and I were bored and got to talking about our favorite foods and the best food/food experiences we've had so far in our lives, so I thought I'd share our results
this conversation started somewhere with me mentioning my brother's favorite strawberry smoothie and asking him how he would rate it on a scale from 1-10. He gave it a solid 9. Now although I can't personally say that I enjoy that smoothie as a 9/10, I cannot argue with it as I know it has quite a bit of potential. I've just never liked strawberries as much as others may. I personally am more of a mango person. But, nevertheless, I can imagine the joy the specific smoothie might bring someone.
I followed up my inquiry with asking my brother what else he would give a similar or better rating than the smoothie. we ended up agreeing that the first time we tried cream soda was also a 9/10 ranking. I also offered up the ice cream floats we used to have at our grandparents' house, and my brother countered with the chocolate milk that we had there. we agreed that both of those hit the spot. Solid 9/10s , or perhaps higher. I remember on a roadtrip I drank a strawberry daiquiri or something and i was obsessed with it but I couldn't tell you what it tasted like and I honestly had forgotten about its existence until today
We then got to discussing foods. It was without question that the best food we had consumed thus far was sushi. Specifically the sushi two of our friends brought us and our brother to. the chef prepared it in front of us and each piece of sushi melted in our mouths. My brother gave this experience an 11/10. And I agree. but we also realized that this would have been only a 10/10 had we not gone with those specific friends. shared joy or something.
what else were the best specific foods we've had? I couldn't think of a specific day that stood out, but I really enjoy my mom's wonton soup. I have never had better wonton soup than when my mom makes it. 10/10. The first time I had Xiao long bao would also be a top food experience. Eating a hot dumpling with soup inside??? yummy. 10/10 would recommend. When we were younger, my brothers and I used to be addicted to har gow. They are still pretty good, but I don't think I can say they are the same level as they were. But at their peak, also 10/10s. In another genre of food, I remember a specific burger I had at home one day. It was loaded with the toppings and for added flavor my dad offered me truffle mustard. I think that might've been the best burger I've ever had because I still think about it whenever I eat a burger. And I compare my burgers to it still 10/10. Another specific memory was I went on a trip with my dad to Albany and I barely remember anything about that trip except we stopped at an old lady's house (I assume we knew her somehow but idk) and that's where I had the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich I've ever had and ever will have. It might've been grilled I can't remember, but I remember eating it and it was perfect. I don't even like PBJ thatttt much but that one specific sandwich was so good. Some of the first times I had good steak were probably 10/10s. One time my dad made an egg salad sandwich or something idk I can't remember it had a bunch of random stuff on it but it was really good. I still think about it sometimes.
In a similar manner my brother and I talked about desserts. Brownies are consistently good, at least when my mom makes it. My brother said my mom's red velvet brownies were one of his top picks, and I think I can agree with that. Both 10/10s. I think the first time I had lava cakes would be another. Also the first time I had red bean soup with mochi. man I kinda want that now. I used to LOVE red bean soup (I still do and thinking about this is making me hungry I haven't eaten anything today yet). 10/10. The first time I had mango ice cream mochi. These frozen oranges I remember eating at a restaurant in a city?? when I was really young. But I'd say my top snack/dessert experience was when my mom was making up a snickerdoodle cookie recipe and me and my brothers were playing outside and she had us try the cookies and they were warm and yeah that was the best. 11/10 perhaps. Snickerdoodles are still pretty good .
I'm trying to think if there were any more specific food experiences but I'm having trouble thinking and all this food talk is making me hungry.
if you made it this far you should do a jumping jack

Night was starting to fall on the Division of Akihabara when Shian Meizono heard her doorbell ring. Pausing what she was doing Shian got up from where she was comfortably seated and walked towards the door, opening it. Where she found several packages addressed to her at her doorstep. Picking it up, Shian brought them inside and began to open them up.
Tumblr media
The first gift was a figure of the DC character Starfire. An obvious nod to her Halloween costume from last year.
Tumblr media
The second gift was a red and gold geode cake and matching red flowers on the cake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The third gift was filled with multiple bentos each one filled to the brim with all sorts of food. Seeing a note on the bottom of the final box, Shian picked it up and began to read.
“Happy Birthday Shian-san! I know you like to eat a lot like me so I made you a whole bunch of yummy food to eat today plus a cake! The figure is from Kaoru she absolutely loved your costume last year. Anyway enjoy your birthday!”
— Kanra A.
Shian stared at the abundance of food before her. A lunch date with her teammates, multiple whole cakes to herself, and now all this…
The savory smell of the dumplings, grilled and fried foods, and the fresh smell of different types of sushi.
It was enough to make her mouth water.
Suddenly, she was hungry all over again.
And then her eyes darted to the cake that almost matched the color of her own hair.
“That tiny little thing is talented, my god…” Shian mumbled.
Shian plopped herself at her kitchen island and had the figurine stationed in front of her. “I guess you’ll be my dining partner for tonight. You’re really pretty, you know that, Starfire? And you’re even raunchier than when I dressed up as you for Halloween.”
Shian clapped her hands together. “Thank you for the meal. I’m gonna devour all of this.”
And that was exactly what the bail enforcement agent did. Without leaving a single grain of rice behind.
Thanks for the gifts!

---Ueno's croquette---

Day 11 is our transit day between Nagoya and Tokyo. We start our day going to Nagoya station and boarding the Shinkansen bullet train all the way to Tokyo. It was a very fast travel to Tokyo and it took less than 2 hours to get to Tokyo Station. My family even got a glimpse of Mount Fuji but I didn’t because I was asleep. When we got there it was raining heavily so we couldn’t walk around the station and we also got there so early that we couldn’t even check into our apartment yet. Dad and Carter sat down in a corner of a mall and me and mom went to explore Tokyo Station! We walked around the malls and stumbled across a former bib gourmand restaurant that served Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. We decided to try 1 for ourselves and it was okay. We felt like it wasn’t bib gourmand level because there was too much plain noodles and not enough sauce or protein. Then we walked the Tokyo character street that had stores of all of Japan’s adored characters. It was fascinating seeing all of the specialized stores. I ended up buying some more packs of Pokémon cards at the Tokyo Station Pokémon centre there. After when the rain cleared up we headed to the other Pokémon centre in the area, Pokemon Center Tokyo DX. We ended up not buying anything there because things were sold out but it was stuff fun to see all the statues of Pokémon again! Then, we headed to check in to our apartment out close to Skytree to we took the subway to the Oshiage (Skytree) subway stop. The apartment was very PINK. Like very very pink. Everything was pink… Anyways, after that we went closer to the Skytree to get something to eat and ended up going to Kura Merry-Go-Round Sushi. It was a little pricey but very yummy because we got to try lots of fresh and freshly grilled sushi pieces! It was a pleasant experience with a nice surprise at the end. We found out that every 5 plates you get a raffle to play some gachapon. We ended up winning a chance to get gachapon by shorting fish and Carter got the “gold” tier for points and ended up getting 3 balls of gachapon. We got little cute charms of sushi and their mascots. Then went to the Skytree mall to cross off our third and final Pokémon center for the day. This was the Pokémon Center Skytree location with Rayquaza as its mascot. It was nice seeing the statues but the Pokémon cards were all sold out! Right outside of Skytree there was a cool performance we saw people performing. It was like a traditional Japanese dance that all of the older people knew. It was called the Bon Odori dance festival. There was an elevated stand in the middle where people were drumming and playing instruments and people surrounding it dancing in a circle. It was a really fun and exciting first day in Tokyo!

10 Fundamentals About Black Rice Near Me You Didn't Learn In School
Lots of, many years in the past, when the first explorers and migratory persons roamed the earth, they observed how and what each other ate. Because they moved about, they shared meals, borrowed some Suggestions, and brought them home to switch to their own tastes and environment. As men and women's cultures produced and changed, so did the categories of foods they ate.
By way of example, in North The usa we like our substantial bowls of pasta for evening meal, but in Italy it is often just one compact ingredient of The full meal. In a few areas of Asia, noodle dishes tend to be highly regarded likewise. Usually the noodles are comprised of rice or egg, which include Malaysian mee goreng and Cantonese chow mien, and are sometimes elements of soup or fried following boiling.
Rice can be quite a major food with vegetables and meat additional and steamed ideal into it, which include Indian Biryani. There is certainly also fried rice in a few of the other Asian countries or yummy beans and rice in Cuba. Rice is frequently eaten plain as a aspect dish, or with flavouring additional as in North American cooking.
Soups are A different variant that extend from crystal clear broths, to wealthy meaty stews like Hungarian goulash, Vietnamese noodle soup, or perhaps the North American favourites of chili con carne and New England clam chowder.
Breads--where by to start? Mmmmmm.....bread. A number of my favourites incorporate Center Japanese pita bread, Indian naan created inside of a clay tandoor oven, and Italian focaccia. My close friends really like my garlic cheese biscuits, just like a certain well-known seafood chain, and my Mother's do-it-yourself bread. I don't possess a bread maker, but I do know individuals that swear by these to help make all sorts of doughs and baked goods.
Greens which have been eaten in salad or cooked like a side can really differ according to what on earth is regionally and seasonally accessible. If you are thinking about striving Thai food items, they generally include eco-friendly mango or papaya in salad. In North The usa individuals really like their a lot of http://edition.cnn.com/search/?text=black rice selections for greens for instance spinach, arugula, sprouts, and differing kinds of lettuce. Options for baking, sauteing, steaming, frying, and grilling veggies are countless.
Fruit also varies a lot from position to place. With the advent of genetic engineering, the appearance, texture and taste of fruits like bananas and tomatoes from place to nation are Practically limitless. I can style a tremendous difference between my backyard garden's beefsteak tomatoes, as well as hothouse tomatoes I purchase from your supermarket, which have been shipped up with the U.S. inside the winter. When touring to hotter climates, I love to take in refreshing mango, papaya, pineapple, pomegranate and guavas. Even though they won't be as new, you could find Many of these fruits at your local grocery stores in North The us, buy one and provides it a try this week.
Meat continues to be a well known staple item in some cultures, and also a luxury product in other cultures for many years. Dependant upon where you reside, different meats are very fashionable; including pork in China, and goat and lamb in India. There are various preferred meats in North The usa, but definitely beef and chicken are Amongst the most chosen. Meat may be put on a spit and roasted about a hearth, baked, grilled in a North American barbecue, cooked inside of a slow cooker, stir fried, or seafood become Japanese sushi or sashami, just to call a few choices.

Cheeses are A further superb creation that fluctuate so much depending upon the variety of milk, procedure used to really make it, and what's extra into them. On the recent vacation towards the Canary Islands, we appreciated scrumptious fried manchego cheese within a moho rojo sauce. Though in Indian cooking, the handmade, paneer cheese is very talked-about. Several of my other favourites involve Greek feta, Italian mozzarella balls, and great outdated North American sharp cheddar.
Hopefully this article has served to highlight several of the reocurring themes in foods from throughout the world. The spices, ways of planning, and local choices might be different, though the foodstuff groups are pretty identical--and the probabilities are countless.
As promised, I will publish extra comprehensive content Sooner or later about ideas for taking in and cooking new foods, and eventually begin posting some recipes. Meanwhile, feel free to complete a Google lookup to the names of any with the foods outlined if you are keen on finding out more details black rice price per kg on what they are or what is actually in them.

tokyo tohoku trip - day 12.
starting the day at tsukiji outer market 築地場外市場, even though the fish market has moved to toyosu, this area remains very popular for fresh seafood and lots of other street food. we came here on a wednesday so a lot of stores are closed, it also means there should be less people, some stores are still super crowded though.
we walked around the market and tried a few street food, fresh sashimi from 築地 斉藤水産, the seafood variety here is plenty, you can ask them what is good for the day as well, everything looks super yummy. all the fish, prawn and sea urchin we ate was really good, very tasty and enjoyable. followed by grilled scallops from 築地うなぎ食堂, which also has grilled eel and other shellfish, another popular option among the crowd. last but not least, tamagoyaki from 築地 山長 is definitely a must-eat, especially for egg lovers like myself, it’s just so fluffy and i like to eat this while it’s freshly cooked.
for lunch, my friend and i went to shutoku 2nd store at tsukiji 秀徳2号店 for the omakase meal, we were served tamagoyaki, 10 pieces of sushi made from various local freshly caught fish, a handroll and miso soup. the chef prepared all the fishes and shell food first before starting to make the sushi. it’s a very enjoyable process to watch as the chef do wonders right in front of you. each fish is very fresh, has slight different texture and taste, and is complimented by various condiments which enhance the flavor. the meal was very satisfying and enjoyable, this was our second visit already.
we grab coffee after the meal at a rustic coffee store - yonemoto coffee 米本珈琲 本店, this store has so many different kind of coffee beans, and the coffee jelly i got is so yummy too. definitely a good place to visit for a great cuppa. after the coffee break, i head to shibuya on my own to continue my exploration, as shibuya has changed a lot recently.
i first did some stationery and souvenir shopping at loft, this is my favorite store to go to as it just has so many things to see and buy, and always something new to discover. they also offer duty free shopping which is very convenient too. after that, i went to shibuya scramble square, a new shopping mall that is super popular right now, to visit shibuya sky, the latest and hottest rooftop observation deck at the moment. i made reservation beforehand, so its very easy to get in with the QR code provided. they have lockers for visitors to store your things which is not allowed on the deck.
the deck is very spacious and windy, and there’s lots of tourists around, there’s also photography service which you can queue up for, otherwise you are free to roam around and take as many photos as you like, and stay as long as you wish to. as the sun goes down, the weather turns cold really quick though, but the sunset was very beautiful to watch. there’s some seating area and hammock and a helipad too. with a rooftop bar at one side which opens at night. it is definitely enjoyable to visit if you like the city view a lot and just wanna feel cool breeze.
when the sky starts to turn dark, i decided to leave and went down the building, and by chance, i found tokyu hands ハンズ on the 10th floor, and did more shopping, this is also one of my favorite place to shop for japanese stationery and home and living items. and this new store at shibuya scramble square is well organized and easy to look around too.
my last stop before heading back home is visiting the mega donki Megaドン・キホーテ渋谷本店 to purchase some souvenirs for friends and family, as this stores is so big, they have anything and everything that you wanna buy at a rather competitive price. i bought quite a few japanese snacks here, the options are endless and it’s also very reasonably priced. only downside is the paying process is long and painful as there’s only limited staff working at the counters for duty free checkout.
for dinner, my friend has prepared a feast at home for the both of us, she bought so many fresh ingredients and cooked a delicious and heartwarming meal. there’s grilled fish, pumpkin, miso soup, fresh vegetables and more. everything is really yummy, and we had a great meal and it’s so just relaxing to be able to have a homecooked meal. our meal ends with the egg pudding i got from shimokitazawa a day before, which is so creamy and the egg taste is really fragrant and rich and not really sweet at all.
to be continued...

Omakase Sushi in Germany!!! (II)
Since it's hard to get fresh wasabi in Germany, the chef used horseradish to replace it, which was different but still flavourful...What surprised me was the grilled eel, European eels can also be yummy!!!

大家好! I found an anago and unagi donburi at a restaurant and asked Pa whether he wanted to try it. He did; on top of that, he asked to try something new - to support our government's push to go green, instead of driving to the mall, he wanted to take the bus and train. Of course I said yes. Pa hardly takes public transport so we took it as a challenge and an adventure. I looked up bus routes and told him which bus to take and when to get off at the bus interchange (or depot). I'd meet him there, walk with him to the train station and take the train with him. Happy to say, we made it to the mall and restaurant and Pa did more walking than he normally does.

We ordered okra with sesame dressing and our anago unagi donburi. The okra whetted up our appetites so when the donburi arrived, we just tucked in after taking photos. Unagi is yummy but anago holds its own against this popular eel. Flakey, delicate and melt in your mouth tender, it was equally delicious. We liked that they didn't overwhelm the rice with sauce. I'm definitely coming back. We also discovered a restaurant which specialises in grilled fish next door that looks pretty good. After exploring the mall and doing more walking, it was time to head home. We took the train back to the interchange where I showed Pa where to wait for the bus and gave him directions about where to alight. He made it home safely and that was his little adventure. It was fun!

I brought Pa to the place which sells unpolished rice congee before, but not Mummy. Since she also eats moderately healthy, I introduced her to it so that she has another place to socialise over a nice meal. I added extra fish to our bowls of piping hot congee and ordered stirfried garlic pea shoots to share. Mummy loved the food so much, she polished off her bowl and her share of the vegetables. We also liked the generous amount of shredded ginger in our congee. MS really wants to try the food here, so next month, if our schedules allow it, I'll take him. This is 1 of the very few ways I enjoy eating wholegrains; it's actually delicious!

MI wanted to explore a newly renovated coffee shop near the office, so CL, SC and I tagged along to take a look. The stalls were brightly lit and it was crowded! After bagging a table, we ordered at the stalls we wanted to try. Haven't had bak chor mee for quite awhile. This time, I had meepok (flat yellow noodles) dry with vinegar and ketchup, no chilli sauce. It was alright, not especially delicious; definitely prefer soup or white (plain, without sauce). SC and I were disappointed to find that there wasn't any pork liver, which is a standard item included in bak chor mee. So whilst the meepok was very smooth and slurpable, the meal was just okay.

Well! It's already Friday. I'm starting to count down to my weekend getaway. So looking forward to it. This weekend though, I'll focus on getting enough rest. It's been hectic the last few days and I'm rather tired. A slightly longer break from work will definitely help. 下次见!

it’s me robyn i’m just ending the ssurveys era
How often do you eat your favourite food? Sushi...maybe once a month? Probably even less than that. It’s not something I have a lot. Good sushi especially is expensive, so it’s not something I’ll always have the budget for.
Have you ever fallen asleep on public transport? (including planes) I have, very few times, but in general it’s something I try to avoid. It’s awkward and I hate the feeling of my head swinging left and right – even lurching forward – when the ride is bumpy.
What room of the house are you in right now? Just in my room.
What was the last tv show you watched? I caught the second half of Beyond the Sea episode of Black Mirror with my sister. Pretty good episode! Made me remember just why I love Black Mirror. The twist at the end was entirely unexpected for me, too.
Have you been using Apple Music? I’m on Spotify and have always preferred Spotify. I remember activating my free trial for Apple Music for what I’m almost certain was a BTS-related reason lol, but I didn’t last beyond a month on it.
Do you pay rent for the place you live? How often? I don’t.
How do you feel at this particular moment? Anything on your mind? My right shoulder is extremely sore. It’s bothersome. Emotion- and mental-wise though, I’m doing fine. I’m happy that it’s the weekend.
Where was the last place you went on vacation/holiday to? Who’d you go with? We had a weekend staycation somewhere south-ish, if that counts. I was with my family – it had been my dad’s last weekend home, so we wanted to maximize the little time we had left.
Does the place you work have music playing? What sort? Well not by default, but people can play their music if they want. No one ever does, but it’s not like we’re prohibited either.
List all the colours you’re currently wearing. Beige and orange. What’s your favourite type of donut? I like all kinds of doughnuts, as long as it is NOT filled; I’ve always disliked those. Too messy and defeats the purpose of having the hole, which to me has always been the fun part of eating a doughnut haha. I also dislike anything with coconut on or in it.
What do you usually eat for breakfast? I skip breakfast most days. If anything, I always just have iced coffee.
Do you have any candles in your bedroom? Do you light them often? I never use candles. I’m too scared of fire to deal with them on a regular basis.
When was the last time you went out for dinner? ^ The aforementioned staycation, a week ago. We went to Gerry’s Grill because we were all craving ginataang kuhol, only to find out they’ve cut it from their menu for what’s apparently been years now D: Anyway what we got was still yummy - we had kare-kare, crispy pata, and grilled squid.
Have you seen all the Hunger Games films as of current? I’ve only seen the first movie. There was a time when one of the movie channels (remember cable?) aired it absolutely nonstop.
What was the last thing you said to someone else in person? I think I was just telling my mom “yeah” when she quipped how cold it was tonight.
Do you use Windows, Mac, Linux, or something else entirely? Mac.
How many times do you call someone on the phone a week? Never. Have you cooked anything today? What was it? I don’t cook.
Do you have a lot of cousins? What are their names? Yeah when you’re Filipino the list of cousins just never ends. I even have first cousins I’ve never met before.
What does your shampoo smell like? It doesn’t really have a distinct scent. It just smells...nice and refreshing, I guess lol.
What about the body wash or soap you’re using at the moment? It smells just like soap. I’m not picky at all when it comes to bathroom products; as long as it gets the job done then I get it.
Have you ever had an exotic or unusual pet? Nah.
Any movies you’ve seen recently that you’d recommend to me? Not really, no.
Why did you last go see a doctor? Besides the dentist, I went to the local animal bite center to get my last wave of shots after Cooper bit me.
What was the last thing you bought online? Wireless headphones.
Where do you usually park your car? We have a carport.
Does your mail get delivered to your house or do you have to collect it? Always delivered straight here. I’m not sure if we have a public facility where mails can be sent otherwise.
Are you more logical or creative? Logical. Creativity is not my forte.
Do you cut tags out of clothing so they don’t itch and bother you? Most of the time, unless it’s a pricey brand.
What is your dream job? Do you think that’s attainable for you? If writing paid well, I would’ve been in media a long time ago so I can write for the rest of my life. It’s all I know and love to do. Alas I’ve had to compromise and stick to a path that to be fair still entails a lot of writing (great for me), but also demands other skills that I’ve since had to pick up and learn.
When was the last time you looked at Facebook, Twitter or etc.? About half an hour ago. It’s 3 AM and all my feeds are understandably dry.
Have you ever been on a train? Where did you go? A few times. Last time was in Bangkok, and we were just travelling back home after one of our Klook tours.
How many times a year do you go on vacation? 2-3 times a year, usually with family. Bangkok really awakened the traveler in me though and I wanna make it a point now to travel with my own funds at least once a year.
Can you curl your tongue or do anything else cool with it? I can just curl it.
What was the last job interview you went to? It was for a global e-commerce site. I was desperate to escape at the time, but that feeling has since considerably died down.
Do you ever just feel like you need to be alone for some reason? Of course. It’s a fairly common feeling I get, especially in a job that squeezes so much socializing out of me on a daily basis.
When was the last time you wore something totally inappropriate for the weather? Does this happen often? I’m not sure...hasn’t happened in a while. The weather doesn’t exactly drastically change often in this part of the world, so I always have an idea what to wear.
The last time you went out of the house, where were you going and what did you do? I was going to the office because I had a scheduled one-on-one with the CEO. Nothing big or serious, she just likes to have catch-ups with her employees from time to time and that’s what we had.
When was the last time someone cancelled plans on you? Were you annoyed? Eh, it was like half a year ago. We invited a few friends for a Christmas gathering, then they canceled the day of. I was definitely a bit peeved then but I’ve since moved past it.
Do you have a friend that has a tendency to “dump” you whenever they get a new partner? I don’t have friends like that. All of them are either in committed relationships by this point, or are too busy to find a partner.
Would you ever want to go on vacation with just one of your parents? In theory it would be nice but realistically I think it’d just be awkward.
In summer, do you prefer to wear dresses or shorts and tops? Dresses! I’ve never been into shorts.
Has someone ever tried to start an argument with you over Facebook? What happened? Yeah, once. I just ignored it because I knew it was pointless to argue with the man who tried to start something with me.
Have you ever had an unusual type of milk (eg. oat, rice, almond)? Almond milk, yes.
If you could experience life as a Disney princess for a week, which princess would you pick and why? Rapunzel. I’d love to hang out with Maximus and Pascal.
How many cans of soda would you say you drink in a week, if any at all? Zero, I hate soda.
When you’re at home, do you spend most of your time in your room? I wouldn’t say so. I like hanging out downstairs too because I regularly play with the dogs and use the TV there too.
If you like to sleep in late, have your parents ever told you off for doing so? I don’t sleep in. You know how revenge bedtime procrastination is a thing? I like to do that with waking up too, if that makes sense lol i.e. I wake up early so I get more out of my day.
How much stuff do you take with you when you go on vacation for a week? I overpack to the point of absurdity. If I’m going away for a week, I will 100% pack clothes good for 1.5-2 weeks instead. I like having my options because I might not always feel my ‘planned’ outfit for the day I’m meant to wear it.
How old is your oldest living relative? To my knowledge that would be my maternal grandmother, but idk. I could possibly have relatives who may be older.
Could you willingly live on a vegan diet? I’m sure I can, as long as the meals are prepared for me. I have no clue how to whip up any vegan dishes.
If you’re a fan of Harry Potter, are you sad that there’ll never be another book or movie? I’m not an HP fan.
If you’re an only child, do you wish you had siblings? If you have siblings, do you get along? I’m great with my younger sister.
How long have you had the shirt you’re wearing? Less than a year.
What happened last time you got drunk? Stayed in the parking lot for like 30 minutes because I thought I lost the money I needed to pay for the parking, and was frantically looking for it around the car (the time alone was enough to make me sober again lol)...eventually I gave up and fortunately the payment booth accepted e-wallets, so I got to get out of there and drive back home. Then the next day I went back to the car to try and look for that stupid P500 bill only to find it in the cup holder -______-
When’s the last time you straightened your hair? Over a decade ago.
Do you bite your toe nails? Oh my. No I don’t.
Last thing you said out loud? I was just singing along to a song.
Last time you laughed your head off? About half an hour ago watching Run BTS. What do you want right this second? I could go for McDonald’s right now, but ehhhh I can hold it out.
How are you sitting? My legs are propped up.
Your mood? Content.
Did you sleep alone last night? Yuppers.
Do you plan on sleeping in tomorrow? I don’t think I’m supposed to be anyway. I’ve got a dentist appointment first thing later.
Do you find piercings attractive? It’s highly subjective for me. A lip piercing might look super hot on someone but meh on another person.
What were you doing last night at midnight? I think I was watching Smosh.
Will you have sexual intercourse within the next two weeks? Nope.
How many cigarettes have you smoked today? Zero.
Do you have a hard time admitting you’re wrong? Sometimes.
Do you like potato chips? They’re fine, but can definitely live without them.
Do you give out second chances way too easily? No.

Disney Day 1 2-26-23
Look, I am going to try. I am absolutely committed. But, I'm also at a conference. At Disney. There are a LOT of temptations and challenges. The truth is, this is a life change, and this one week is not going to make or break me in the end unless I let it (like I let it in the past.) I'm going to need to lean on my successes even while I'm away. The little things that I'm doing to mitigate some of the damage I'm doing.
Damage: I had to eat out for breakfast. I was at the airport in Baltimore, very hungry for breakfast, and I never was able to make the hard boiled eggs to bring. (ahh, I would have hated them anyway.)
Good choice: I found a healthy bowl restaurant and ordered the egg white bowl. Came with salsa and home fried potatose in it on top of spinach. It was delicious. Were the potatoes over? Yes. But another good choice - I said no to the biscuit.
Airplane - the snack was offered to me twice. I said no twice. No extra snacking necessary.
After arriving at hotel - I was FAMISHED. I had a 1 point onion ring snack to hold me over. It was necessary and helped me wait till lunch for better choices.
Damage: Lunch was at the cabana. No really healthy choices there. I mean, I could have eaten at a different eatery, but then I'd lose the experience of being served by the pool. And that was AMAZINGBALLS. So no regrets there. The burger was high calorie but
Good Choice: I chose fruit as the side instead of french fries. I also used the lettuce as a bun and tossed the actual bun, even though it looked buttered and grilled and delish. Didn't need it though.
Damage: Sushi. One word. There it is. I had a dragon roll AND a rainbow roll. i wanted both. I wanted wanted wanted. I ate it all. I was full half way through, but kept going. That's not good behavior. Not proud of that.
Good Choices: No alcohol. Still alcohol free. No miso soup or salad appetizer. Not needed. I just wanted that yummy sushi.
One more good choice: Wearing my Galaxy watch. I found out I had over 12k steps today. Surely that has to count for something. Cause, damn, that sushi SENT me.

Aw thanks crossy lady!
I was a super-picky eater as a small kid because of all the autism. Even now my mom keeps bringing up how I would only eat 5 foods when I was 5 years old (IIRC cheese pizza, ice cream, bananas, yogurt, and cereal). Now my parents are really impressed with how adventurous I am compared to them. (It is not difficult. They are Boomers and have not moved very far beyond the foods of their childhood.) But even now I will tend to only reach for ham, citrus, or most seafood if there aren't any good alternatives. I often need to eat my fruits and veggies mixed with something creamy or sugary or savory, and I don't do too well with spicy -- jalapeños are usually too much unless the seeds are removed. I also don't like coconut because of the texture; coconut milk is yummy. I do enjoy strong cheeses with crackers or bread, a few unusual land meats -- one time I tried emu, which tastes a lot like beef -- some sushi (mmm tuna), lots of lettuces, and ethnic foods with mild spices. The main thing I’m picky about is food combinations. Salad with blue cheese or Parmesan? Exquisite. Salad with cheddar cheese? I’d rather starve. Peas and carrots go together, but let either or both of them touch mashed potatoes on my plate and I’m gonna cry.
e: I forgot about the time I had grilled freshwater eel in Japan. That’s a “weird” food to most white Americans, but honestly it shouldn’t be. It was really tender and paired well with the sweet and tangy sauce. It’s kind of like an East Asian-y barbecue brisket, if you’ve had that.
So I'm going to answer this for three of my main fandoms these days: Star Wars (specifically The Bad Batch), Stardew Valley, and Scarlet Hollow. I don’t need these characters to grant me wishes in return— I’d try their foods just for the sake of trying them. First up, the easy one:
Tumblr media
I would trust Tech The Bad Batch's food opinions the most because he is autistic too. I don't know how similar our palates and food tolerances actually are, but I'm certain he'd give me a full breakdown of any dish's flavor profile, texture, spice level, etc. That's really reassuring when you have restrictive tastes! The main difficulty is that all the foods in the Galaxy Far Far Away are different from the ones I know, so I’d have trouble understanding a lot of his descriptions. For example, what does a fried nuna leg actually taste like? Is it like the turkey legs at the Renaissance Fair and the Disney parks, or does it just look like them? Now for the tricky ones:
Stardew Valley...really not sure. Maybe Harvey? He probably has a pretty mild palate, plus he’d get me to eat more fresh and nutritious stuff.
Tumblr media
I also trust Vincent and Jas because they’re kids. If they like it, it probably won’t go against my palate. I trust my husband Shane only conditionally, because he seems to have a higher spice tolerance than me.
For Scarlet Hollow…Honestly, I think I’d trust most of the characters. I mostly like Southern American food that isn’t fish, and that’s the main cuisine represented in the game. I hope one day I get to have a biscuit as tasty as the one Winnie serves at her diner… “butter suspended in a thin matrix of dough” sounds right up my alley. Maybe some characters like spicy too much for me, but there doesn’t seem to be any spicy food to be had in Scarlet Hollow. But the character I trust the most is another member of the Autism Gang:
Tumblr media
The player character’s cousin Tabitha only likes 3-4 foods, and they’re all things I enjoy. She is never going to offer me something I couldn’t handle. Only the safest of safe foods from Tabby!
Anyway, I’ve decided not to tag people in these tag games anymore. I always forget someone and I don’t want anyone to feel left out. Do this if you want to, don’t if you don’t!
I thought, I could create a tag game out of my current food choice to waste our times and have some fun 🤩🫶🏼
Which character could convince you to eat something you don’t like if they promise to satisfy a wish in return?
No pressure tags, only to join fun:
@motte-the-goblin @feral-ferrule @isthereanechoinhere96 @techhasmjolnir @dystopicjumpsuit @clonethirstingisreal @nika6q @thora-sniper @vrycurious @freesia-writes
… and others please join, if you like, tagged or not 🫶🏼
The background story bad batched:
(Tech mode:) Today I managed to realise that I may have an extraordinary taste. Maybe strange is a better description or even unenjoyable?
Tumblr media
I think Echo would hate it (and maybe my tooka in the background of the 3rd picture because of hair, or he‘d love it because of cuteness? I can’t tell).
Stop scrolling, if you don’t want to see my tooka (named Miyuki) and my kind of today dinner (peas, raws and some special cheese (Ribeaupierre, Grienkenschmied and something from Allgeau)
Tumblr media
So if you’re still here – enjoy my strange food choice and Miyuki beeing cuddle floof in the background 😂 Should I draw these frames? Let me know 😁
Tumblr media
It was… edible 🤓
