MSA X TMNT 2003: Ninja Tribunal Chapter 4: Sarah and Laura ask The Fourth/Four Ninja Tribunal about what happened to the Fifth/Five Shredder/They got new Weapons/They fought water monster turtles and brought the First Artifact/First Artifact was Revealed to The Real/True/Demon/Tengu Shredder

Master Splinter is frightened has nightmares and finds out that the TMNT Team and Mystery Teams are alive and well and that they are sleeping. Maisy is fearful of nightmares that her parents were murdered by Tengu Shredder.

They have Family members of Mr. Pepper and Mrs./Ms. Pepper with Three Daughters (Belle Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Paprika Pepper), Mr. Yukino and Mrs./Ms. Yukino, with Grandma Yukino, Lance Kingsmen. They have Family Members of Roger Minnie and Atta Minnie with Three Daughters (Dorothy (Dorota) Minnie, Esmeralda Minnie, Amy Minnie), Andy Weld, Zoe Weld, Aurora Weld (Andy's Mom), Lando Rivas and Gia Rivas have arrived at Lap of the Gods Location well. They are sleeping.

Master Splinter: What have you gotten yourselves into?

Maisy: Not good... what happened to my Dad and Mom?

- Next Morning -

Sarah and Laura with their Pets and Ruby (Rosebeat) talked to the Four Ninja Tribunal about what happened to the Five Member of the Ninja Tribunal.

Sarah: I noticed 4 Members were currently the last 5 Members. I thought about what happened to the 5 Member? 

Laura: Right, I think it’s Five Member of Shredder? What happened?

Chikara: Juto-Shisho, the first artifact has been found.

Raph: The one that was stolen?

Kon: The artifact lies on the banks of the Kawachi River, guarded by Kappa Tengu.

Chikara: The Dark One’s demons are poised to claim our prize!

Mikey: Excuse me. Did she say demons?

Sarah: Water Monsters Turtles?

Arthur: (Mind: Water Monsters Turtles? They are Demon Water Turtles?)

Chikara: Right, not good. The Water Monsters Turtles are guarding the first cask artifact.

Juto: The appearance of the fangs is a good omen. Send the urchins.

Kon: Do not return without the cask. [The floats up to the building and the acolytes board her.] For if it falls into the hands of the Dark One’s Heralds, they will be one step closer to resurrecting their master.

Lewis: We won’t fail you.

Sarah: ! (Realize Mind: Who’s Heralds? Wait, it’s right! They tried to reveal revived to resurrect Dark One!?)

Laura: ! (Realize Mind: Oh no! Not good! Better fast gets cask before Bad Teams gets finds revealed!)

Sapphire: Right, better we get the first artifact!

Vivi: We’re going on.

The ship sails away into the sky, leaving the Tribunal and Splinter with Families Members to watch it go. Splinter looks over at the Tribunal, and they turn and walk away. Cut to a flowing waterfall, surrounded by trees. A cask sits atop a boulder around which the water flows. Kappa tengu stalk through the water around the waterfall.

Don: There it is. The stolen artifact.

They see the first artifact guarded by Water Monsters Turtles

Raph: And a whole lot of ugly.

Sarah: I think Water Monsters... Water Demons.

Stephanie: Right, we’re going get the first cask of the artifact.

The acolytes stand in a wooded area next to the river.

Mikey: Come on, Raph, that’s no way to talk about your real family.

Marie: They are Kappa Tengu, River Demons.

Don: I forgot to bone up on demonology before we were shanghaied. Ideas?

Leo: Hit hard.

Bart: Hit fast.

Mikey: I know. Stealth mode. I’ll pull a Hisomi and snatch the cask at ninja speed before Bobo can say banana.

Leo: A fancy set of ‘chucks don’t make you Hisomi, Mikey. Let’s stay in the real world.

Mikey: Real world this. [He places his hands together and closes his eyes.] Focusing, stealthing… [His chi lights up and then a second later, he zips to the top of the boulder. The glow fades.] How cool is that? I-I love being a turtle! [His shout draws the tengu’s attention.] Heh. Uh-oh.

Michelangelo squats down and tries acting like a monkey. The tengu growl and move towards him.

Leo: All right, it’s go time! Get Mikey out of there and grab the artifact. [The acolytes leap into the ankle-high water and charge the tengu, who turn to water and drop into the river.] Huh? Where’d they…?

Sarah Q: Not good! They have water abilities!

Sarah: Better fight off to get the First Artifact!

TMNT Team and Mystery Teams are surrounded by Water Monsters Turtles and fighting with Water Monsters Turtles

Raph: Somebody please tell me that’s kappa for “we surrender”.

Maxy: Water! They can travel through water!

He struggles against two of the kappa as Lewis is knocked down by a kappa and fights to hold it back with his sword. A kappa chases Marie and Raphael as they run towards the cask. The kappa leaps and lands on Raphael’s shell, knocking him down. Another kappa plows into Marie and throws her into the river. When she tries to rise, it plants a paw on her chest and pushes her head under the water.

Sarah: ! Not good! We are surrounded!

Laura: Right! They need to Powers!

Sarah: Right, Come in! [Her glowing chi activities] Rosesine!

Sarah fights with her Metal Baseball Bat and hits Kappa in the face to knock them out to destroy

Raph: Marie! [He slashes at the kappa, who pushes him face down in the water. He manages to get his head up.] Come on, focus. [His glowing chi activates and he leaps high overhead.] Banrai!

He begins spinning, turning into a buzzsaw, and slices through the water and tengu, which frees Marie. Meanwhile, Vivi and Vera are both being held down by several kappa.

Don: Vivi, Vera! [He focuses and his chi lights up.] Here goes nothing. [He jumps high into the air and begins spinning his body.] Cleaving wind!

He becomes a purple tornado, which pulls the water up into it. The river bed dries and Vivi and Vera are freed. Then the water drops back into the riverbed and Donatello returns to the ground.

Don: Normally, I’d like to understand how an arsenal of magic weapons works before using it, but today I’ll make an exception.

Marie used her chi lights up to use her Fire Scythe to attack Kappa to steam out of water demons

Vivi and Maxy used their powers and Ices to freeze Kappas to shatter.

Vivi: Huh? Good idea!

Matilda: Going on! Frozen Blizzard! (Her chi lights up to use her Ice Sword/Katana)

She sliced frozen Kappa into shattered pieces

Michelangelo runs from a pair of tengu, but they turn into water and whip around him, lifting him up. Inside the circle of water, he focuses and activates his chi.

Mikey: Come on, Inazuma! [He swings the weapon and sends the water flying away from him.] I’m never giving these back.

Mystery Teams used Powers to fight off with Kappas

Leonardo runs towards the boulders, leaps over two kappa tengu, and hops up to stand in front of the cask.

Leo: I got it, guys! Let’s get out of here! [Tengu jump onto the boulder, but he grabs the cask and leaps down.] It’s the water! We have to cut them off from the river. Use fires, Guys!

Lewis with Marie, Bart, Cera and Others with Fire Weapons are shocked

Lewis: !? To stop a river? Right!

Bart: It’s true!? Going on!

Leo: Right! [He drops the cask and snatches Samurai Fire Sword out of Lewis’ hands. Activating his chi, he sweeps the sword around and points its energy at the water.] Gunshin!

They used Fires to Water to burn out steam water. They are shocked at the waterless riverside

Fire flares up and dries the water, which destroys the kappa tengu. The acolytes groan as they rise from the dry riverbed; all but Leonardo who is injured.

Raph: Leo!

He runs to his brother, flips him of over and lifts his head. Leonardo makes pained noises and struggles for breath.

Sarah: !? Oh my God! Better, don’t forget to take the first artifact!

Arthur and Stephanie get to the First Artifact Cask and back to reteam/regroup

Arthur: Got it! Better get out of here!

Cut to the ship as it returns to the Lap of the Gods.

- Back of Lap of the Gods Location of Sunset -

Raph: Yo, Shishos! We got wounded.

The three turtles carry Leonardo. Arthur and Stephanie carry the cask in their hands. Vivi and Mystery brace Lewis between them. Splinter and the Ancient One with their Families run out to meet them.

Mr. Pepper: Lew! They are right!? Wait... They are not good!

Sarah: They have injuries have scratches and bruises, they are fine...

Splinter: My sons! Leonardo. Put him down. [Splinter takes a leather pouch from his pocket and kneels next to Leonardo.] Drink, my son.

He pours liquid into Leonardo’s mouth. The Tribunal arrives.

Kon: The cask. Has it opened? Is it damaged?

Hisomi appears behind Arthur and Stephanie, snatches the cask from them, and speeds to the Tribunal.

Arthur and Stephanie: Whoa!

Lewis: But Master, Leo is injured.

Juto: You should have left him if it put the cask in jeopardy.

The acolytes, Splinter, and the Ancient One with their Families stare at him in shock.

Lewis: But Sensei, I… [He drops to his knees.] He saved our lives, Master. And the cask. Without Leo…

Juto: Your lives are meaningless compared to these artifacts, acolyte.

Splinter: You heartless monster! Have you no compassion for those who would give their lives for you? You are no better than the snarling wretches who serve the evil one!

Kon: Our ways are our own. [Hisomi places the cask on the ground.] But, you and your sons, and your friends deserve to know this, the evil that threatens our worlds, that threatens all worlds, overshadows everything! Compassion, our own lives, even honor. [Smoke rises from the cask and then the lid pops off.] If we fail, the world will fall. [Everyone gasps in horror.] Fall to him.

They got the First Artifact later revealed that Shredder's Helmet belonged to Fallen Shredder aka Tengu Shredder! 

The First Artifact Chest/Casket/Treasure Chest open Artifact cask belongs to Tengu Shredder!

Everyone was shocked and horrified that the first artifact of Demon Helmet was the long-imprisoned, Fallen Former 5 Member of Shredder later aka Tengu Shredder!

Maisy: !? Wait... Not better!

Sarah: ! I can’t believe it!

Laura: Oh no...! I can’t be...

Leo had fully awakened to see the Helmet himself and was just as horrified as everyone else.

Leo: The Shredder!?

Sting & Yukino - this is a wholesome dynamic your honor

Sting & Minerva - Sting has a bit of a savior complex when it comes to Minerva, and I think it involves how he feels the weight of his past mistakes. But I think there is a lot of potential here since they both seek redemption.

Sting & Meredy - It just makes sense.

Sting & Erza - But in a one-sided crush sort of way…

Marinette:

Marinette & Luka - This is my endgame for her honestly. Luka’s been the rock she’s always needed, the keeper of all her secrets, and the first person she calls when she needs help. The level of trust she places with him and the genuine care and patience he gives her… Marinette doesn’t really deserve him in canon, but I wish they could have been better.

Marinette & Chat Noir - I consider all the love square dynamics different ships because the characters perform very differently. MariChat just feels the most organic version of lovesquare to me. They’re honest and free and angsty…

Marinette & Kagami - I like how Kagami isn’t afraid to point out Marinette’s flaws and anxiety. It’s really important. They also really mesh well in how they communicate despite how different they are. I wish we saw them interact more because this is one of Marinette’s healthiest relationships.

Marinette & Felix - I’m just weak for things that are y’know… messy.

Marinette & Zoe - I’m still a little iffy on this one since we haven’t seen much of it in canon. But I think Zoe really cares about Marinette and Marinette wants the best for Zoe. I am hopeful they develop more and have a bit of spark added to them.

BONUS Other Lovesquare - I enjoy the lovesquare. I have since I first started watching, but I got burnt out on it after a while. They are compatible and a good match, but Adrien also brings out Marinette’s toxic traits more than anyone. She’s only ever been close to akumatization because of her relationship with him. I think they are a cute pair and I love all their dynamics, but I haven’t really seen the chemistry in it for a while now other than MariChat. I am watching the episodes in proper order, so maybe this view will change once I get caught up. But that is where I am as of Transmission.

There was a silence on the other end, followed by a heavy sigh. 

“...Holey Cow, reporting in.”

A week before, Ameko had been sitting in homeroom with the rest of 1A. It was a little energetic in the classroom, which had intimidated Ameko at first, but the careful excitement of 1A was quickly starting to grow on her. She appreciated the way that Lyrie-chan had a habit of lowering her volume when it got too loud for Ameko, and how it was becoming second nature for the person closest to Hiyasu-chan to put their arm around her when she seemed too cold. 

Ameko leaned against Lyrie-chan as the class chatted, feeling the warmth of her part-horse body taking over the coolness of Hiyasu-chan beside her. 

“Hey, guys!” 

Ameko’s voice carried over the others, and they all looked over at her, finishing up conversations and turning over in their spots; in a chair, or sitting on a desk, or enjoying the giant cuddle-pile that had collected around Ameko. 

“What’s up, Tokachi-kun?”

Inoue-chan raised an eyebrow and rested his chin on his hand. Ameko straightened in her spot, letting her hands flitt around her as she spoke. 

“We should have a secret comuni-ni-nation device!” Ameko declared. Inoue-chan paused for a second, before clarifying in a smooth, calm voice, “Communication device?” 

“Yes! That!” 

“How would we even do something like that?” Takakutou-chan snorted, rolling her eyes. It was, of course, to be expected of the grumpy girl who never seemed to care much for being a team player. The entire class gave each other a knowing, amused glance. 

“Like - like a walkie-talkie or something!” Ameko continued, “For when we’re doing training stuff.” 

“That’s actually not a bad idea.” Inoue-chan mused. “If we had the knowledge to do something like that, anyway.” 

“We probably could,” Spoke up a boy in the back. He was a transfer student, and had arrived that day in the train station alongside another late arrival, Otsuka-chan. 

“We can?” Ameko lit up. 

“Yeah. I could make some headsets and connect the transmission to some AM radio waves; if we all hit the same channel, we can talk to each other. They won’t hit a terribly long distance, and anyone with another radio can listen in, but they’ll work.” 

Ameko hopped up, her hair bouncing with her and a grin on her face. “You’re so super smart! Haaah, what’s your name again?”

“Funkee, Zeke.” 

Ameko blinked a few times. 

“Fu… foon-kee…?” She scrunched up her nose. 

“You can call me Zeke, if it’s easier for you.”

Ameko blushed, shaking her head. “That’d be really embarrassing. I could--” Her voice lowered, “--do you mind being called Kisai-kun?”

“Talented? Why?” 

“Because - because you’re making the radios!” Ameko bounced on her heels, feeling her quirk threatening to burst. “And if we have radios, we gotta have codenames!” 

There was a bubbling excitement in the class as they all huddled together, paper in hand…

Fast forward to a week later, and their first hero lesson had started. Ameko quickly learned her field was connected to Inoue-chan, Gigi-san, Takakutou-chan, and the newest transfer, Sugiyama-chan. She had caught her just before they split up, handing her a headset and collecting a code name. 

She stood on the edge of a dilapidated city, looking at the aged buildings and the almost peaceful atmosphere. It would have been just Ameko, if her ears couldn’t pick up the faint chatter of her classmates. The overhead speaker boomed an excited set of instructions from Kyokkou-sensei, interrupted every so often by a mildly-irritated Kuzu-sensei. 

“Ready!”

Ameko crouched down, letting her foot skid slightly on the ground, gripping the concrete under her. 

“Set!”

Her hand brushed the dust-covered surface. Breath in. Breath out. 

“Go!”

The dust stirred as Ameko took off, and the familiar feeling of jumping high, so high, gave her a quick rush of excitement. When she was hopping, it almost felt like flying. Ameko felt like she was making good progress when -- 

“Shit!”

Ameko skidded to a stop when she saw one of her other classmates, Gigi-san, sprinting towards the goal. Behind them, an empty trash can that had sprout legs -- their quirk, Ameko knew -- was running along at a frankly impressive pace. A glob of lava flung out at the trash can, melting it and leaving the orb rolling away. 

Right at Ameko. 

“Bondage-san--” Ameko blushed as she spoke into the headset. “--how fast can you run?” 

“Pretty fast,” They replied, “Why?”

“I can kick the ball towards the goal, but you gotta catch it before it goes over.” 

“I have an idea.” Gigi-san sprinted towards the sidewalk, finding a bench and touching it. Their quirk made it come to life, and like an animal, pranced anxiously as Gigi-san climbed on. “Go.” 

Ameko kicked the ball, and Gigi-san hurtled after it, their opponent struggling to catch up. Without much hesitation, Ameko kept hopping towards her goal, and after a few minutes the radio crackled to life with a relieved, “Thanks, Hop To It.” 

Ameko spotted the shining from a window a few buildings ahead, and slowed down, slipping into the doorway with quiet focus. The building was run down, but maybe not as much as some of the others, because it was clearly sturdy. Dust coated the floor in a very thin layer, and the air had a heaviness that made Ameko’s breath hitch the wrong way. There were a lot of floors; Ameko figured at least five. With the winding rooms and nooks and crannies, it felt like hours (although in actuality, she had only been searching maybe five minutes) as she shifted boxes and climbed staircases. 

She tried to listen for her opponent, but she heard nothing. 

Although it would be lying to say that Ameko knew all of the kids in 1B well -- She had classes with them, but besides the people that she had gotten close with, she was much more focused with the familiar, family-like feeling of her own class. But Ameko had run into quite a few, and she could recognize a lot of them. 

Ameko had known Seisei-chan since the exam, and she had a pretty solid grasp on his quirk. She had gotten used to the way that he popped out of existence when he was startled, the way his heartbeat was a bit too slow whenever she went in to hug him. She knew that Seisei-chan was slow; maybe not to the average person, but definitely to someone who’s quirk was good with speed. 

Ameko really liked Seisei-chan. Some might even say that she loved him; that, of course, would depend on whether you believed love could even be accomplished after two weeks of school. But Ameko was also here for a reason. She was here to grow, to be a good hero, and Seisei-chan was too. 

If she didn’t try her best, even though she liked him, then she wasn’t being nice to either of them. 

“Hop To It, this is Now You See Me Now You Don’t, reporting in.” 

“What’s up?” Ameko whispered, opening one of the doors and poking her head in. 

“You’re fighting the purple ghost kid, right?”

“Yeah?” Nothing. Close the door, rush down the hallway, look in another door.

“He’s running towards the goal with the orb.” 

Ameko stopped. For a split second, she’s confused. She would have definitely heard someone come in; footsteps, breathing, little huffs and puffs and bumping around that, although not much, was enough for someone with sensitive ears. 

Unless, of course, he was invisible. And he couldn’t be touched -- or touch the things around him.

Ameko cursed a soft, “Sweets and sugar,” as she opened the window and launched herself out. “Where?”

“I’m bad with directions,” Sugiyama-chan admitted on the other end. After a beat of silence, Yukino-chan piped up, “You’re looking for Seishin-kun, right, Hop To It?”

“Yeah, I am.” 

“He’s nearby!” Yukino-chan assured. “Go three blocks East and two South, and he’ll be there.” 

This was, of course, something that the class had considered before the match; because of Yukino-chan’s quirk being like a person detector, she could easily direct people towards any targets. In preparation, they had all made sure to have compasses on hand. Ameko had to thank Tokei-kun for that idea. 

“Thanks a ton!” Ameko called out, and started sprinting in the direction. 

Seisei-chan was floating, fast but not as fast as Ameko. He saw her coming, and when she went to tackle him, he floated up and out of her grasp. 

Ameko rolled on the ground and popped back up, her feet skidding on the ground. Seisei-chan floated further down, eyeing her with apprehension. 

“Sorry, Tokachi-chan.” 

Ameko lurched forward again, and again, he flew back. Ameko quickly realized that this wasn’t going to work. 

Ameko had remembered the days afterschool in her backyard, in the makeshift training ground, trying to knock Gakutori-nii off of his feet. She’d try the same lunge. She remembered his slightly amused tone when he told her that it wasn’t a good idea -- Ameko would get tired a lot quicker than Gakutori-nii would. She bit the inside of her cheek and thought. 

Ameko’s quirk buzzed with energy waiting to be used. When Seisei-chan took a floating step towards his side of the goal, Ameko knew what she was going to do. 

When Ameko was little, she used hopscotch to try and control her quirk. She tried to stay in the squares by doing little jumps, because otherwise, she could hurt herself. Her quirk was one that she loved, but it was dangerous, too. 

Patience. Self control. Ameko tapped her foot on the ground and lunged, aiming higher. This was no problem for Seisei-chan; he ducked lower, instead. 

That was his mistake. 

She shifted her attack to kick his side, and he cried out in alarm, the ball rolling out of his arms and down the street. Ameko was fast; she scrambled, grabbing the orb and breaking into a run towards her goal. Seisei-chan floated after her at a speed that was actually a little startling for Ameko; she was faster, but if she made one wrong move, he’d catch up in no time. 

Ameko heard it before it was going to happen. She could hear most of her classmates’ fights from the headset, but Takakutou-chan’s boisterous, “We’ll see how you like this building, Tall Girl.” 

A building. 

“Holey Cow, this is Hop To It, reporting in. Did you say you’re going to bring a building down?” 

“I sure as hell am! Why do you care, Bunny Girl?” Takakutou-chan spat into the mic, followed by a grunt from what Ameko assumed was her battle. 

“Where are you? What’s your 20? I need to slow my opponent down.” Ameko ducked into an alleyway to her left, ran, then hopped a street over. The orb was cradled in her hands like a child. 

Takakutou-chan laughed haughtily. “Saving your ass, am I? I’m on the building on the corner -- it’s the one next to the burger shop.” 

Ameko clicked her tongue, and on her next hop, spotted it a few minutes away. “I need you to hold off on that building. Can you do that?” 

“Of course I can! What, you think I’m in trouble? I’m already winning the--” Takakutou-chan shrieked, and there was a crash, “--I’ve got Tall Girl under control!” 

“Great.” Ameko waited, and once she passed the building, she shouted a loud, “Now!” 

A lot of things happened at once. Behind Ameko, there was a rumbling, and the building Takakutou-chan described started toppling in on itself without the weight of the chunk she punched out. Ameko looked back, but kept going, and stumbled over the finish line orb in hand. Her chest heaved, and she slumped against a tree, the orb rolling at her feet. 

Ameko heard the call of, “Tokachi Ameko wins!”, but she was more focused on the sweet, satisfying taste of her candy. 

After the exercise and a shower, the bed Ameko rested on wasn’t her own. She closed her eyes, soaking in the quiet of a soundproofed room and the vibes -- the cool breeze of a fall night, brushing your cheeks and enveloping you in a refreshing embrace. She could feel the slow, steady rise and fall of breathing from the person she was laying on. 

Underneath her, Lana-chan let out a gruff oof as Gakutori-nii flopped on top of the two girls. “So, 1-A had radios, eh? Who’s idea wassit -- Bird knock-off?”

Ameko grunted as she went to twist, looking up at her best friend and his dumb, smug smile. She stuck her tongue out in return, blowing a raspberry. 

“It was my idea!” She bragged. 

He snorted, ruffling her hair roughly. “Not too bad, Amenee.”

Ameko couldn’t help the smile that infected her entire being.
