MASTERLIST

“Are you sure? I could just ask someone else to go you know…” You told your husband, as he was putting on his t-shirt. Jongdae walked closer to you and your rest your forehead on his stomach.

“Do you trust me?” He asked. Your eyebrows were furrowed as you looked up to him in confusion.

“Of course I do Dae, but I just—“

“You’re using the word ‘but’, which sound like you don’t trust me.” He pointed out only to make you sigh.

You were debating on whether you should go out of town for the big meeting with one of your favourite author. You really wanted to go, because it was an opportunity to ask about the book you were reading too. But you didn’t want to leave Jongdae and Tae alone too. You know well, that Jongdae would take a good care of Tae while you’re away, but you just didn’t want to leave them. The last time you went out on a trip for work, or even with your friends was before you had Tae. And ever since Tae was born, you never really went on a trip for work, or with your friends.

Tae is your 3 years old son. He loves music just like his dad, and loves to read just like you. But he’s more like Jongdae because he’s just loud.

It feels like you’re living with two Jongdaes, but, you never complained anyway.

 “Just go if you want to go, I can take care of the house and Tae.” Jongdae assured you.

“I want to, but I just don’t want to leave you guys, it feels… odd.” You said.

“Which is why, I want you to go, I don’t want you to be stuck here at home too you know.” He said, his thumb on your lips, making a smile on your face. He pressed a gentle kiss your forehead, before you could get up from the bed.

“Come on, I’ll help you pack.”

 “When will you be back mom?” Tae asked with his small voice. You kneeled in front of him and smiled. “I won’t be long honey, I have to go to work, you stay here with dad okay?” You told him before hugging Tae’s small body.

You stood up before walking towards Jongdae.

“Take care while I’m gone okay?” You asked him. He nodded his head before he placed his lips to yours.

“I’ll see you guys in two days, alright?”

Jongdae picked Tae up into his arms as you walked to your car. You drove away from your house and you breathed out a heavy sigh.

“This is going to be great!” You told yourself.

 You’re really happy that Jongdae made you come to this meeting with your author. Your boss actually lets you asked some questions and you got the answer you needed. As you got into your hotel room, you called Jongdae and he answered right away.

“Hey, how was the meeting?” He asked right away, making you smile.

“It was fantastic! The author said that she’s working on a sequel to the book that I’m reading and she also signed my book so I’m really, really happy!” You squealed. Jongdae chuckled hearing how happy you are.

“Well, I’m glad you went to the meeting.” You could feel him smiling on the other side of the phone.

“How’s everything back home?” You asked him as you unbutton your shirt to change into something more comfortable.

“It’s fine, I took Tae to see a movie and we got Pizza for dinner and we played games together.” He explained happily.

“Wow, it sounds like you guys are having more fun without me.” You said pretending to be sad.

“We miss you a lot! You know that!” Jongdae said loudly, and you laughed.

“What is little Tae doing now?” You asked.

“He’s still playing video games, and I’m here watching him from the couch talking to you.” He said.

You picked a t-shirt out from your suitcase, and you realized that it wasn’t yours.

“Dae, did you slipped your clothing in to my suitcase?” You asked as you walked to the bathroom and put the call on speaker.

“I did! Are you wearing it right now?” He said proudly. You changed into his pair of t-shirt, which was slightly bigger on you and you put your phone back to your ear.

“Yes, and it smells like you!” You giggled. “It makes me want to come home.” You told him as you lay yourself on the bed.

“Tae!” Jongdae called out to your son. “Mom missed you so much, come say hi to her!” He said. You could help but to laugh before you could hear Tae’s small voice against your ear.

“Hi mommy!”

“Baby Tae, what are you doing honey?” You asked him sweetly.

“I’m playing video games!” He burst out. “Dad said you missed us!” He said loudly.

“Yes, mommy misses you both so much! I hope you’re behaving well with dad.” You told him.

“I am! We ate pizza for dinner, we left you some!” He said, making you smiled wider. Tae was just too sweet for you.

“Thank you baby.” You thanked him and you heard him giggled. “Don’t sleep too late okay?” You told Tae as you looked over to the digital clock on the nightstand.

“Yes mommy, I will sleep soon.” Tae’s small voice answered.

“(Y/N)?” You heard Jongdae’s voice again.

“Yeah?”

“Nothing, I just miss you.” He said.

“I’ll be back tomorrow in the afternoon, wait for me?” You asked.

“We’re not going anywhere.” You could feel Jongdae smile before you could tell him about your plans for tomorrow.

 You woke up the next day still feeling a bit tired, because you stayed up all night talking to Jongdae. You picked your phone and you saw a text from Jongdae that he sent about 6 minutes ago.

 From: Dae

Hey, safe travel home.

we’ll be waiting for you

 And there was a picture attached, of him and Tae eating breakfast together. You smiled and you lay your head back down on the pillow.

 To: Dae

Love you guys so much!

 You looked at the time and it was 09.12, so you had a lot of time to get ready and spend some time in the town. You got out of the bed, and jumped into the shower before you could get out and enjoy the town scenery.

 The town was just beautiful. You realized that you haven’t been out from the house since Tae was born. And some places have changed. You bought some sweets for Tae and a new notebook for you to write on. You felt like you wanted to stay here for a little while longer, but you know that Jongdae and Tae is waiting for you back home.

 “Hey, I’ve just arrived at the office, be there in minutes okay?” You called Jongdae as soon as you got into your car.

“We’ll be here waiting for you!” He screamed excitedly, causing you to pull your phone away from your ear.

“Dae, calm down.” You giggled, as you press your phone back to our ear.

“I can’t! Now I know how you feel everytime I came back from tour!” He said. “It’s too much joy and it’s exciting!” He added. You laughed before you could start the engine of your car.

“I’m driving. I’ll see you soon!” You laughed before hanging up.

 You came home to a really dark hallway. The porch light was on, but none of the light from the inside of your house is.

“Dae? Tae? Are you guys here?” You asked, your voice a bit loud. But there was no response. You rolled your suitcase to the living room and it was completely empty. However, Tae’s glass was on the coffee table and it was still filled with his chocolate milk.

“Tae?” You called out but no response. You then walked towards the bedroom you scared with Jongdae and as you turn on the light you were surprised to see Tae with flowers in his hands and Jongdae holding a cake.

“Welcome home!” They cheered together. You laughed as a little tear escaped from your eyes.

“Baby…” You couldn’t contain the smile on your lips as Tae ran into your arms. His small arms wrapped around your neck as you picked him up.

“This was a surprise, really, I didn’t expect something like this!” You giggled as you walked closer to Jongdae. He gave you a quick peck on your lips before kissing Tae’s chubby cheeks.

“Thank you, both of you, I was only gone for two days you know.” You said, as you looked to Jongdae.

“Well, I want your arrival to be special.” He smiled.

Jongdae then put the cake aside before hugging you and Tae.

“Noo! I want to play games now!” Tae giggled between you and Jongdae. You laughed before attacking your lips onto Tae’s cheeks and put him back down to the ground.

“Mommy’s home!” he cheered as he ran out from the room to the living room.

You laughed as you felt Jongdae’s arms creeped around your waist. You turn to him with a bright smile on your lips.

“So…” You said, putting your arms around his neck.

“You were only gone fore two days, I was gone for 2 months.” He said. You giggled.

“Now you know how I feel when you’re away.” You brush your nose against his. He chuckled.

“Ah, I’ve missed you so much.” He said hugging you tighter.

“Yeah…” You sigh. “It’s good to be home.” You said before Jongdae could place a kiss on your lips.
