i feel like its so obvious that many myth retellings arent. for the culture/religion but for the fandomisation. and therefore we should have different criticisms of say atwood vs euripides. like errr can we be for real here. is it just me

#your intent and context matters. we already have the 'origin' myths <- there aren't any but for simplicity #so what if homer wasnt feminist. they've been dead 2000 years and also was writing about different things. IDK??#like we dont live in ancient greece. alot of us didnt even grow up in greece/around greek religion #so. give it a rest. when someone says x modern author is harmfully representing x greek myth it isnt a gotcha moment to say #ohhh but x classical author did this worse (hnng)!!!
