The assumption that everyone who reads romance uses one of the characters as a self-insert is just so fucking weird to me. I remember the first time I read the like “characters who are bottoms are treated better because they are ultimately the self-insert” discourse and being like:

i see a lot of posts on here about how everyone has been cruel and abusive to people in the past and you have to forgive yourself and be kind from now on and like thats a good sentiment but its actually kinda disturbing that yall assume everyone has gone around being abusive and ruining lives like speak for yourselves lmao. ive never been perfect or anything but yall are on something else. your experiences are not universal.jpeg

i get what that post about working from home is saying but also. i hate working from home all the time, it’s the worst thing that could have happened to me professionally.

my ability to focus and general productivity have tanked to the point that it’s probably going to affect my career progression. i have no work-life balance any more because my home is also my workplace. also, i like the people i work with! i miss my friends! i miss talking to people without a laggy video connection!

every post about work on their website assumes that everybody hates their jobs, and that everybody works for a private corporation or in a profit-making industry. it’s all your experiences are not universal.jpeg
