Does anyone else only discover they like a different variation of a really popular ship (or like a canon ship) compared to how most of the fandom does.

Like I couldn't stand Naruto/Hinata for the longest time, until I put them within the context of a queerplatonic ace/aro relationship.

Hell yeah I love me some asexual Hinata and aromantic Naruto.

Both the fluffy kind where they fully understand and accept the differences in which they love, because even if the way they love each other is different it doesn't change the fact that that is is their person and spouse and fellow parent of their children.

And the angsty kind where neither quiet know why even if they love each other and want shit to work between them neither have the language to talk shit out.

Like there's even potential for this in the Boruto era, because you know he'd stir shit up if he ever learned that his dad has never been in love with his mom, but married her anyways-
