slow burn anon here and HELLO this isnt Quite a slow burn to report after many years but i feel compelled to tell you i just found a 56k fic, of 40 individual chapters, described in the summary as "an epic" like wtf!! that's in the same spirit right??? bc i need whatever the kids are on these days so fucking bad i swear

Fr though that's. that's so funny like fic length norms are obviously different than book norms and writing is hard but. an "'epic"' "?? girl that's just a story. that's a Tale. I'm glad you wrote it but words mean things and "epic" means not that. Also the 40 like thousand-word chapters swbbndjxgfd that makes it feel even shorter, like u just take tiny bite after tiny bite. like a little mousie.

#40 chapters too.... I've read 60k fics that are ONE chapter #not saying that's necessarily my preference but #like man. 56k is more than I've ever written on one story. it's very impressive. that's a lotta words.#HOWEVER #'AN EPIC' means REALLY LONG.#i feel like we are talking at least 100k #you're so right slowburn anon that is EXACTLY in the same spirit what are these people smoking #asks
