Hi! Sorry if this is a weird thing to ask, but how do you deal with harsh criticism of your art? Like, especially someone who's more of making fun of you rather than genuinely trying to help? I recently started trying to post my art online because I've always been super secretive about it in the past. Normally it's fine, but recently I got some (not asked for) harsh criticism, that more of verged on making fun of me then actually trying to help, and it was multiple people. It was really disheartening. I'm not letting it stop me, because I know it's just part of posting your work online, but if you have any tips on not letting it get to my head, I would love to hear it.

I absolutely LOVE your art, by the way. You're hands down one of my favorite artists.

unfortunately i don't have a similar experience with criticism to compare, at least not to that point. But i hope that the fact that those people are FUCKING RUDE is something we're all aware of and it shows their lack of awareness in general. Believing they're entitled to say their completely irrelevant opinion to a stranger online that didn't asked? ridiculous

Take it from who it cames from, a random stranger from internet that thinks they have the right to correct other people's ANYTHING aka.a rude mf. You don't have to tolerate other's people bullshit and im happy you're not letting that stop you! Always remind yourself that people that give unsolicited 'constructive criticism' are people that lack basic etiquette

am i yapping too much? sorry not really sorry hdgds At least what i (and my mom, i asked for a second opinion since she receives wayy more rude stuff than me lol) think that those opinions are not worth listening and you shouldn't engage with them. That doesn't mean you're wrong if it affects you btw, it's totally normal if you feel bad after that and specially if it's coming from many people, im just saying you shouldn't take them to heart to the possible extent
