I resent book series with maps that don't show things until the book after they're mentioned. Oh Point B is 2 hours away from Point A? That's cool. Where the hell is Point A??? Guess I'll find out in two years when the sequel comes out

#'it'd be a spoiler to list everything on the map' no it wouldn't! all that tells me is that it might be mentioned at some point!#it doesn't give me any information on how relevant the place is to the story !#but you know what it does do? it gives me a reference for if/when the place is mentioned! that's what the map is for! reference!!#if you're that worried about the map having spoilers then my dude simply do not look at the map #but genuinely what is the point of a map that doesn't have any markers for locations you might want to know about #it's like if you got a world map with country borders and only labelled cities with more than 10 million people and then told people that #you went 250km north of Invercargill. anyone who needs a map to know where that is won't find any help from the map!#it wouldn't have any relevant information! it's actually useless!!#even if they've labelled each country and they say Invercargill nz then guess what! that's still not that helpful! all you know is that it's #probably not in the northernmost 250km but that doesn't tell you enough for the map to actually be helpful
