But at least with BL & GDs i can console myself that their real routes treat them better. With the BEs, I love them, but you have chars (not Hubert!) who are supposedly kind, & who at best join El for basically no reason, & at worst should hate her (she's a hostage, dammit), spending 5 years hobnobbing with Jeritza & Hubert in a war no problem, and people see that as their most enlightened state. Like, what? Why did you do them so dirty IS?!

Yeah and like, sometimes you can at least somewhat argue the case for why some units aren’t on their base routes and my heart wouldn’t immediately blow up (like, oh, Ingrid thought that Dimitri was dead and so joined the Alliance so that she can better help in the fighting to get justice for him or some shit like that) but even the base class for BE are shat on by CF.

Like, Caspar only gets pumped - like excited - about fighting on the other routes when fighting against TWS on VW. He doesn’t go “Everybody’s gotta have something to look forward to” at Gronder for example (or even with TWS in VW) like he does against the Kingdom. Ferdinand’s willing to follow someone who’s like Lonato now despite hating the man to bits. Petra damn near has Stockholm’s Syndrome and is convinced Edelgard is this good nicey nice person despite literally being her hostage. Dorothea wants to see the plays that’ll be made of Edelgard and Byleth when they conquer the Alliance - you know that thing that still killed a good amount of soldiers that were just defending their land even with Claude’s efforts? Bernadetta a lot of the times seems swept up by the group to say she’s willing to fight, and Linhardt has scraps of hiself shine through like the his and Leonie’s paralogue where he goes “hey yo don’t bring Edelgard and Hubert here cuz it could be kinda related to the Church and they’re fucking nuts”

Like I get they’re all supposed to be ass cuz evil route and all but damn
