The remaining cards for "Shimmering Skies" were revealed over on the official Lorcana Discord server, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that another DuckTales (2017) card was part of this batch! This time, it's our third Scrooge card for the game! What definitely caught my eye was the artwork; the way he was drawn reminds me a bit of koizumi-marichan's art!

These days, I have long debated what to write regarding Palestine-Israel, and questioned why I should write anything at all. The idea that celebrities and the loudest chronically online people you've ever met, blessed in their ignorance and indifferent to livehoods different than theirs, feel the need to opinate on social and geopolitical issues is absolutely insane. Most of the time, they do more harm than good—spreading misinformation like wildfire. Such opinions are what convinced me to ultimately talk about it.

Rest assured I'm not particularly qualified to talk about any of this, then again no one seems (or tries) to be. This is not a statement, simply questions about selected nuance. Full disclosure: I am of Palestinian descent. And I tried my hardest to be all-encompassing and empathetic; if I fail at any moment, my sincerest apologies.

All around social media I've seen only two kinds of posts regarding Palestine and Israel; they're either completely favorable to Israel and dehumanize Palestine or they treat Palestines as a footnote, in which it's made to assure its author doesn't endorse murder but also to point out that Palestine "deserve what's coming." There's a certain nuance required to support Palestine that's not asked when supporting Israel.

I've seen Jamie Lee Curtis reposting a picture of Palestinian children watching Israelis air strikes as if they were of Israeli children. There's no doubt it was a malicious-intended post considering she credited the photographer while deleting the original caption which explicitly explained who the ones pictured were. After being severely corrected in the comments, she simply deleted and made no mention of it. Guess children don't matter if they're Palestinian. I've seen way too many celebrities responding to the conflict with worries about how they might be affected by it, as self-centered and selfish as you can imagine.

I've seen a journalist claim that 40 Israeli babies were beheaded and multiple newspapers (many of them British, because what else can you expect from them?) and public figures reposting as a fact, only for the same journalist to later claim she actually "never said that" (she absolutely did). Also the IDF explaining they have no information confirming the allegations that 'Hamas beheaded babies'. I've seen people using statements from Sabra and Shatila massacre survivors and trying to rewrite Palestine, which were the victims of said crime, as the perpetrators. I've seen people using videos of Russian attacks as Palestinian ones. I've seen a British journalist fabricating a harmful statement from a Palestinian Ambassador to help dehumanize Palestine, and being proud of such. I've seen BBC using the nuances of language to their liking, reporting how Israelis were 'killed' while Palestinians 'died'. Always heard journalists avoid adjectives in favor of being unbiased. Again, guess that's unimportant when it comes to Palestine. Most of all, I've seen people equate supporting Palestine to anti-semitism.

If that belief steams that Palestine and Hamas are one-and-the-same, and the latter is a anti-semitism organization, then that's another concern I'd like to add the recently appraised 'nuance'.

Hamas first appeared during the first intifada, a Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. The signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 marked the end of the uprising—an agreement between Israel and Palestine meant to lay the groundwork for the formation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. Instead, it has erased Palestine's recognition as a State. In its history, Hamas have equate the liberation of Palestinians with the destruction of Israel, likely the reason they're a highly divisive organization that has often been at oddens with more mainstream Palestinian politicians. However, Hamas backtracked on its aims in a 2017 proclamation, making it clear that what it wants is to end a “racist, anti-human and colonial Zionist project.” In its 16th topic, they state "Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine."

The description of the Israeli occupation as fascist most likely comes from the similarities of Palestine to an "open air prison". They have no control of their own borders (IDF controls who and what enters or leaves) and are deemed stateless. "In defiance of international law, Israel considers all Palestinians inhabitants of the occupied Palestinian territory as non-citizens and foreign residents." Meaning if they leave their territory, they won't be allowed back in. Their rights in the Arab World are uncertain, particularly in Lebanon and Egypt where they are denied rights to secure residency, employment, property, communal interaction and family unification. Procedures to allow non-residents to apply for naturalisation in Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia do not apply to stateless Palestinians. So while those asking for Palestinians to be evacuated for their safety certainly have noble intentions, I ask of you: where they will go? Can you imagine walking away from home knowing you're heading into nothing? What's the difference between living in the rumbles of their homes and being homeless in another country?

The ones who decide to stay (and the ones unable to leave) are likely not making it for much longer. According to the United Nations, roughly 6,400 Palestinians and 300 Israelis have been killed in the ongoing conflict since 2008, not counting the recent fatalities. Is it truly a war if one side is so overpowering in its resources and retaliations? I feel the need to point out these stats to question why the notion that "violence is never the answer" is only used now. When it has been the only response until now.

Then again, Hamas remains a polarizing force in Palestinian society. They're an organization that's slaughtering families and less than a third of Palestinians think the group deserves to represent them. There has not been an opportunity, however, for elections to change their representatives. Palestinians living in Gaza must endure an unstable political reality with an unrepresentative government implementing repressive policies against LGBTQ people and abusive policies against detainees. Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu purposefully propped up Hamas and there has been speculation that Iran has supported them. I've seen many post as if it's a fact, so I'd like to reinforce that it's speculation. In essence, Hamas is a terrorist group with questionable history and even more questionable allies. None of which has the Palestine's best interests at heart.

This has been overly long, and I still haven't touched on all topics I wished to address. Some I probably couldn't express properly since it's such a complex geopolitical issue. Then again, no one seems to try while all seem very comfortable in being as biased as they wish to be. So I thought I add my compassionate two cents in favor of Palestine and all the years of oppresion they've endured. I still hope you'll read this to the end, and extended to Palestine the same sympathetic hand you've rightfully extended to Israeli citizens.

My heart aches for the innocent people murdered, Palestinian and Israeli. Settlers aren’t innocent, but people who were born there didn't really choose to be one. Jewish people following matters of faith don't deserve to die. No one has (or should have) the right to take someone's life away. People at the Gaza Strip that are either just trying to survive or attempting to protect their homes also don't deserve to die, as flawed as their logic and actions might be, and many are missing that nuance. The denial of food, water, and medical aid, violates the Geneva convention. And it's a kind of retaliation that Palestine in its entirety will never be able to match.

Currently, the Israeli government is preparing a ground invasion of Gaza. An anonymous Israeli official said they would turn Gaza into “a city of tents.” A parliamentarian said that Israel should not concern itself with the safety of any Gazans who “chose” to stay in the Gaza Strip, as if every crossing hasn't been blocked.

Soon, the 'war' will end. And when it does, I can assure you Palestine won't be the last one standing. They've never had a real chance. I'd like to remember everyone that, despite Netanyahu's claims that they are "human animals", Palestinians are human beings. People. All of which deserve to live, deserve compassion and deserve protection. They also deserve to be remembered.

Also lastly, my health.. I don't really have a timeline of when I'll get better. Over a dozen times throughout this 7 months I've thought "Oh this must be the solution! This nightmare is almost over! :D" only to find out that not only was I wrong and that didn't cure me. But my symptoms have gotten worse! :')👍

Its a very long process of waiting and experimenting unfortunately. I have another solution around the corner but I'm trying not to get my hopes up about it. I don't think I'm going to have recovered by the time I hit 30k..

But eh. That's alright. I have plans for it anyways. Thanks for checking in. <:)

My idea is that a lot of the OG slime rancher translates into the submas version. What I mean by this is that a lot of physical labor is involved when it comes to tending to the ranch and the slimes, despite the technology that they have. However the slimes and Tarrs have changed a bit..

While the slimes are more intelligent and only eat plorts when they intend to evolve, they can also eat as many plorts as they want without becoming a Tarr.

"Well then what are the Tarrs" you might ask? I was thinking that Tarrs are these beasts that are separate from slimes.. or at least the twins cant figure out what causes some slimes to turn into Tarrs..

I remember when I first made my version of DK I considered the Bros giving him a tie or DK making one of his own.. but I never got around to it.

I can imagine DK wouldn't be comfortable with something being tied around his neck all the time, especially if its bright red.. might make him and the other kongs think of blood, you know?

If the brothers gave him something like that I can see him tying it around his wrist instead or giving it to Diddy for him to use. :0

i am a whump creator. i've been in the whump community for a few years now. and now, i am unable to share my work with the community on here because people are mass reporting me for being a proshipper, and Tumblr keeps deleting my blogs as a result.

(if that isn't the reason why, i would be more than happy to get the explanation from @staff that i've been asking for.)

now, that is speculation on my part based on the timing of each termination (it's after i put my pinned post in the whump tags).

but here are the facts:

months ago, i became comfortable enough to share proshipping content. seeing as how every other artist would link their nsfw work on here, i thought it was acceptable for me to do the same so long as the preview image did not violate any rules.

an anon asked if i was a proshipper, and i said i didn't ascribe to that label*, but i agreed with the philosophy.

*i don't have any choice BUT to use it now because my posts get removed for describing what the content is

note that this anon asked multiple people in the whump community if they were proshippers. it was the same person each time, same copy-and-pasted responses.

i kept posting my proshipping content, all with links and extensive content warnings.

i started getting anon hate.

my account was terminated. after further reflection and rereading the terms of service AGAIN, i figured maybe links are not allowed and so i switched to DM only.

this time, the anon hate was consistent. every week was something new. every day felt like bracing myself to open my inbox. i kept anon on, since i have so many people who feel uncomfortable sending asks off anon and didn't want to take away their safe space.

months pass. i go on hiatus for all of July. i find out someone stole my old nsfw art and reposted their edited versions of it to rule34, a site that i never wanted my work to be on. this person waited until the exact starting day of my hiatus to do this.

i come back to more anon hate in my inbox.

suddenly, out of nowhere, my account is terminated again.

i make a new blog. more anon hate. another termination.

lather, rinse, repeat.

i stopped doing DM only stuff. i figured, if i just link my other platforms and only post safe things on Tumblr, there's nothing in the rules against that. everyone has links to their social media.

i still get terminated. and again, i keep getting terminated after i post my pinned post in the whump tags. which -- speculation again -- leads me and others to think that these antis are stalking the whump tags, waiting for me to show up so they can mass report me and get me terminated.

i have NO idea what they would report, aside from claiming i'm trying to "dodge being blocked". which, i'm not. in fact, i say every single time i come back that i WANT people to block me if they need to.

but regardless, it keeps happening.

i'm losing a place i considered home.

i'm being forced out of a community on here i love so dearly.

and you want to know something funny? for some strange reason, i'm unable to block my anons. yup. an 'error' message comes up. and i'm apparently unable to report them too -- like reporting the one who called me a 'tumblr tranny' and said i would 'always be a woman' for hate speech. oops, sorry. error message.

by now, i've been called evil. told to listen to my intrusive thoughts. told that i should be on a watch list. told that it's disgusting that someone's mutuals still interact with me. told that i have no place in the whump community.

i know that's not true.

i'm so sick and tired of being treated like this. i'm tired of being dehumanized. and i'm disgusted with this behavior.

at this point, i'm just screaming as many times as i can. i'll keep losing blogs, because i know my attackers will read this and just keep on reporting me. what do they have to lose? nothing. they don't have enough of a conscience to care. and why should they? clearly, i'm a monster. i'm a piece of shit. i don't deserve basic respect, and i apparently don't deserve to keep my 'platform'. to stay in my community and to keep my livelihood.

A. Haha, I did listen to it, anon. It was a good reminder of why podcasts usually turn out to be the better interviews. If you're not aware, in 99% of print interviews the questions have been pre screened by the actors/show so they go into the interview already knowing pretty much everything they're going to say. It's why so many of them are repetitive. Podcasts tend to have a little more leeway. They usually only have to get topics pre-approved. So even though they know what topics are going to be discussed they don't usually know the specific questions. Now obviously those interviews come with greater risks because if your actor doesn't know how to edit themselves they could say something epically bad. Obviously this one was pre-recorded so he had a little bit of a safety cushion but it didn't appear to be heavily edited content wise. I love that he touched on the racist/bigoted thing. Even though this came prior to the entire Gerard nonsense, I'm glad he got a chance to tell those people how incredibly wrong they are where he is concerned. I hope he hasn't seen most of it, but given everything he has been tagged in I fear he has seen more than he should have ever had too.

He's in the position now that Oliver was last year. He's the one doing the promotional interviews, but he's just out of canned answers he can give, lol. There's nothing left for him to say except the 'thing' he can't yet say. So you can tell he's trying to make the same answers sound somewhat new and for the most part he was able to do that. It was though just one more thing that kind of made you go, yeah it's going where we think it's going. I just think the show is all out of later. They can't keep pushing the story to 'next season'. And I think that's why we're seeing so many winks and nods from ABC and the show. The comments they replied to yesterday were intentional. Yes, they deleted them but they knew the people who they were intended for would see them and remember them. It's time. Let's go.

Ah yes! Hard agree on everything here! I haven't seen/heard the whole podcast yet (I'm planning to listen tomorrow when I'm relaxing), but I've seen all of the videos, snippets and quotes about 911 and Eddie that were posted online.

Everything is aligning and people are noticing the change. There is this tentative surge of emotion of 'Oh wow, this is it. It's actually happening this time. No more clowning,' going around in fandom and even beyond the fandom. Love that for us.

The situation only became worse as humans were forced to become monsters including you. So you've been on your own for Lord knows how long then all of a sudden you wake in this odd dimension with someone staring at you. So you attack them but the problem is that you might have attacked Cale Henituse.

It has been 8 years since the world has fallen into chaos. 8 years since the apocalypse happened. Monsters that looked as though they came from storybooks started roaming around as if they owned the place. No one could figure out how or why. All everyone knew was that one day these things appeared and killed masses.

5 years

It has been 5 years since everyone lost hope. At first, factions were formed and everyone had hoped to either get rid of the monsters or find a way to survive against them. However, it looks like the universe has forsaken your world and the people in it.

Not only did no one find the weakness of these monsters, but they also somehow grew stronger. They destroyed everything. From houses to food; every resource you could think of is now facing a scarcity. 

That was why humans decided to forego their last remaining humanity and let their selfish natures take over. People started betraying their factions, sacrificing their friends and family to get food, killing fellow humans for a place to sleep in, and many more atrocities.

You were no exception to this rule. You were far from selfless and goody-two-shoes. The things that you have done did not sit right with you. In fact, sometimes nightmares and hallucinations haunt you. However, you were more afraid to die than whatever else hardship you had to experience to survive.

So you do everything to survive. If this time it means sleeping in a scary forest with nothing but the clothes on your back and a measly dagger in your hand? Then that’s what you’ll do.

3 seconds

It has been 3 seconds since you woke up after sleeping in an unknown forest. You didn’t know if you were still in the same forest because your view was being blocked by a guy staring at you. It had been a while since you’d seen a fellow human, the last one you had to kill before they could kill you.

So you try to attack the unknown guy with your dagger. 

Before you can even blink, the dagger had flung out of your hands and a new person had come into view. This surprised you, last time you recalled people didn’t team up anymore. All of them afraid of being betrayed, of being killed. Sometimes the thought of being killed by another human sounds scarier than being eaten by a monster.

“What the hell, people still team up in this day and age? And what’s up with the redhead’s clothes… wait where the hell am I?”

Your voice was hoarse from not being used for a long time. However, you didn’t care as confusion piled like a Lego tower when you noticed more and more abnormalities. First were the clothes of the redhead man. It looks too luxurious, something that’s impossible to get in your ruined world. The next thing was the forest itself. At first glance, it looks similar to where you were last night. However you know better, the plants look different, and the noises of the monsters from a distance are also unfamiliar to you.

“Cale-nim, based on their clothes they seem to be like me and got transported here.”

The man named Cale examined you from head to toe. As he did you can feel the pressure at his gaze. He wasn’t looking down at you, but there was still this aura around him that made you feel as though you were looking at a ruler.

“That seems to be the case. Who are you and where did you come from? Earth 1? Earth 2?”

“Neither, I’m from a place called Earth Zero. A land forsaken by everyone.”

You still don’t know whether you can trust these people. Somewhere in your heart was fervently hoping this world to be different from the one you were in. The rational side of you reasoned that it’s unlikely.

“...That’s something I’ve never heard of before, and I do not wish to hear about it. I don’t have any interest in hearing your story let’s just go.”

That’s easy enough to do so you followed him. The three of you spent a few minutes walking and soon you reached an underground villa.

Lively. 

That was the only way you can describe this place. Many people were doing their own thing. Knights training, servants running around, there were even kittens pawing Cale’s legs as soon as you arrived. It had been too long since you’ve seen this many people together, and even longer since you’ve seen harmony in one place.

“Amazing isn’t it? I was also shocked when I saw people for the first time after spending a lot of time in the Forest of Darkness.”

“Forest of Darkness… so that’s what it’s called. You seem to have gotten things wrong though Choi Han-nim. I had just arrived in that forest when you guys first saw me. Also, I’m more surprised at the fact that you guys aren’t killing each other.”

2 days

It has now been 2 days since you started lodging at this villa. Everyone treated you nicely. Well, some were more wary than others but it’s nothing compared to your world. No one asked you questions and they respected the fact that you're guarded against other people.

That was why you have decided to finally share information with Cale. These past 2 days were the most peaceful days you have experienced in a very long time. You didn't have to struggle to get food and lodging, you didn't have to be as afraid that you'd be killed in your sleep. That's why you only deemed it right that you share your knowledge with your benefactor.

“Um Choi Han-nim, is it possible to talk to young master-nim? I have something to share with him.”

Choi Han was the only one you were kind of comfortable with as he helped you adjust to this new world and taught you the things you needed to know. Meanwhile, the sword master was happy because it looked like you were finally opening up. He too knows the struggle of being unable to trust people easily.

During lunchtime that day you were invited to eat a meal with Cale in his room. When you arrive he has a gaze that seems to tell you to say whatever you want and say it fast.

“Young master-nim”

“Just call me Cale. You’re from Earth, I’m sure you aren’t used to calling someone young master.”

“...then Cale-nim”

During the two days you were here, you have learned that Cale prefers things to get to the point. Luckily, you’re the same.

“I feel like I have to share this information with you. Do you know why my world was called Earth Zero? It was because that world is terrible. If higher entities are real, then I think it’s safe to say that we have been abandoned by them.”

Cale looks interested as you tell the story of your world. Not you, but just your world as that is more significant during these trying times.

“That world is like a world that was beta-tested on and then left to rot as the player had no interest in it anymore. It is a world where monsters are the new humans, and the humans have become the insects.

We aren’t like the other Earths who have found ways to live and thrive even with the monsters. The monsters back there were on a different scale, we couldn’t figure out how to defeat a single one of them. Even with extensive research, we have failed to do what the other world has done.”

You peek at Cale who seems a bit confused as to why you’re telling him all these things.

“Transmigrators are not a thing in my world, I don’t know how I got here. But me being able to go here probably means that those indestructible monsters in my world could too.”

“Explain. How are you so sure of this?”

“Back when people in my world still had some hope and humanity in them, we had a research company that tried to find out how to deal with those things. I was one of the head researchers there.”

Cale pushes his hair back out of stress and you ignore the gesture as you continue to explain.

“I didn’t find out anything that could take the monsters down. However, I found out about other worlds. The other Earths. With that, I found out about transmigrators.

And I have found out that our world is incapable of having those kinds of people.

The same way we don’t have ability users… The main reason why we couldn’t fight and is now facing extinction.”

As Cale seems stressed enough already, you ask through your eyes if he wants you to continue speaking. He responded by gulping the tea he was drinking before nodding his head.

“As head researcher my previous knowledge, as well as my honed instincts are telling me that there is a portal of some sort involved. I’ve been investigating the Forest of Darkness the past two days and found no trace whatsoever.”

“So you’re telling me there’s a big chance that those monsters might crossover here?”

“Yes sir. There’s also a chance that the portal was an ability of one of the monsters. The monsters in my world have abilities and are constantly evolving.”

At this point, both of you have lost your appetite to eat. The same thing could be said for the children who had been quietly listening from the start.

Soon lunch ended along with your conversation with Cale. The young master has promised to look into it. He even said he would help you get materials to conduct proper research.

In days like this, moving to New York seemed like the wrong idea. You were late to one of your deadlines, your boss just yelled at you, you were missing your family an awful lot, and everything seemed like it was against you. That's why you were on your way to the small cafeteria you went regularly. The café/bar almost felt like one of those you had back home, and it made you feel at ease when you felt like everything was falling out of your reach. Walking in, you saw a few people seated on the chairs, and you smiled as you made your way into the counter to the lovely old Spanish man that had become your friend.

“Hola Ernesto. ¿Cómo estás hoy?” you asked him. (Hello Ernesto. How are you today?)

“¡y/n, querida! Bien, ahora que te he visto” he smiled sweetly. “¿Estas bien? Se te ve cansada, cielo” (y/n, dear! Good, now that I've seen you. / Are you alright? You look tired, darling.)

You sighed.

“I'm good. Tired. That's why I came here. You know your café con leche always cheers me up. The best in all the city” you said, taking your jacket off and leaving it one of the tables beside the counter.

„Ah, eres la única que lo aprecia. The others just like the café solo or black coffee, anyways” he chuckled, and started preparing one right away. (Ah, you're the only one that appreciates it.)

The two of you made small talk until another customer came in, and you sat at your usual table. You took out your laptop and started working on that damned deadline you had. After a while, you had finished the work you were behind, and after stretching yourself on the chair, you took the last sip of your coffee.

“Anita! Hola, querida” you heard Ernesto say. You turned around, curious, and you met with a woman that often visited the shop. (Anita! Hello, dear. btw, -ita/-ito is used as a diminutive, in names often lovingly.)

“¡Hola Ernesto! Lo de siempre, para llevar, por favor. And a croissant” she said, smiling. Then when she turned around to reach her purse, she saw you. “Hey, y/n! Long time no see” (Hello Ernesto! The usual, to take away, please)

After paying, she sat next to you on the table while she waited for her order. You knew Ana from a while back, since you first met in Ernesto's shop. It was quite a spot for Hispanic people, honestly, since a lot of them longed for a piece of familiarity in this big city. You two made small talk about your lives, and then Ernesto called her name.

“Well, it's always nice seeing you, y/n, we really have to go out like old times. I miss getting drunk with you!” she laughed.

“I could really use a little fun, honestly. So I might take up on your offer, Ana” you smiled.

“Well, I might be going out this weekend, if I don't end up dead because of workload. I'll text you!” she said while taking her order and heading out. “Bye, cielo. Hasta luego, Ernesto!” (See you later, Ernesto!)

The old man waved her goodbye, and you stood up to take another coffee. Then you sat back and scrolled a little through TikTok. The page was flooding with new Pedro Pascal edits, and you welcomed each and every one of them. How can a man be so fine without even trying?

You heard another person entering the shop, but kept your eyes on yet another video of your 'for you' page.

“Ah, Pedrito! Cuanto tiempo sin verte, mijo” you heard Ernesto say cheerfully. (Ah, Pedrito! It has been a while without seeing you, son.)

You snorted, a bit too loud, and without looking into their direction, you quietly apologized.

“Igualmente, ya sabes que me gusta pasarme a verte cuando estoy en la ciudad” you heard the man say. Funny, because you came a lot, and his voice sounded familiar, but not from hearing it around here. (Same, you know I like to come around and see you when I'm in the city.)

“¿Te pongo lo de siempre?” Ernesto asked. (Do I get you the usual?)

“Sí, por favor. Si tienes, ese café colombiano tan rico” the other man answered, and you almost felt him smile. Oh, that coffee was good. He had a good taste. (Yes, please. If you have some, that tasty Colombian coffee.)

You didn't hear their small talk, but your attention chimed in again when Ernesto talked.

“Aquí tienes, Pedrito. Si quieres algo más ya sabes donde encontrarme.” (Here you go, Pedrito. If you want anything else, you know where to find me.)

“Grac-”

You unconciously snorted again when hearing the nickname, and you felt their eyes on you again.

“Do I know you?”

“No, sorry, I just know someone called like that. I'm really sorry. Promise I'm not laughing at you” you said, again not tearing your eyes from the screen. Funny enough, another Pedro Pascal edit popped up in your phone. You smiled to yourself. After a bit, you saw someone approaching you sideways.

“Can I sit here?”

You stopped the video and looked up to answer.

“Yeah su-”

Your eyes met another coffee coloured ones, and your mouth stopped mid sentence. You blinked. Wait... What? This can't be happening. You frowned and looked down at the paused video on your screen. Then again at his face. The same face.

“Uh...”

“Can I still sit? If you don't mind. I'm a little tired”

“Ye-yeah. Sure” you made a little space on the table by scooting your things to you, still a little dumbfounded.

You watched him as he sat down, took his jacket and scarf off, and put his hands around the cup to warm them. You were at loss of words. Was this a joke? Were you hallucinating from a coffee overdose? Where you the only one seeing Pedro motherfucking Pascal sat in front of you? Your eyes scanned the shop, no one turned around to watch your table or made any move to come to you. You moved your eyes back to him, and he was already looking at you.

“You alright?“

“Yeah”

“I'm guessing you finally recognized me” he said, a small side smirk creeping on his lips.

“Yeah”

“And you're fine?”

“Yeah”

“Do you know more words than that?”

“Yeah” you answered without thinking. He laughed at that. “Wait- I mean-”

“‘S alright. I can leave if I'm making you uncomfortable or something.”

“I should be the one telling you that” you huffed, now smiling a bit.

“Ah, so the lady knows how to speak properly” he said mockingly.

“Oye! You're making it a little hard for me. Just let me process it. I'm having kind of a weird moment now.”

He chuckled, and took a sip of his coffee. You two sat there for a couple minutes, just sipping your coffees and occasionally glancing at each other.

“Are you freaking out?”

“Surprisingly? Not much. I thought it would be different. That you would be different.”

He gasped dramatically, taking a hand to his chest. “Ouch. That offends me. Am I not enough for you?”

“What? I didn't say that! Just- If I ever met you, I thought I would feel different. More excited, I guess? I don't know. Maybe it's just the stress knocking me out.”

“Oof. Know that one. I have just returned from filming, and I finally have some free time in my hands. I'm guessing you know what I do for a living, so... What do you do?”

“I work in an editorial. I'm kind of a translator. And everyone's recadera, honestly” you scoffed. (Gofer? aka basically the person that runs around doing what everyone wants or needs, I think lol)

You both sat there for hours, just talking to each other and enjoying your company. That was until Ernesto came up to you.

“Hey, I don't want to interrupt, parejita, but I already closed for the day. If you don't mind closing up the doors, y/n, you can stay here if you'd like” he said.

You both then looked around and realized that he had, in fact, closed everything and you two were the only ones left.

“You should have said something! No te preocupes, yo cierro. Go rest, I'll see you next day” you said almost lovingly scolding him. When he left, you sighed. “I swear this man reminds me of my grandpa. He goes every day to la huerta. And he's in his 90s!” (Don't worry, I'll close up)

“Damn, that abuelo of yours sounds like he's made of steel” he said chuckling.

“If only you knew” you said, laughing back.

The two of you started picking up your things and putting your jackets and scarfs. Ugh, sometimes you hated New York's cold. When you got out of the shop, you took out your keys and closed the cristal door, and then the blinds. When you turned to Pedro, he was looking at you funny.

“What?”

“Nothing. Just thinking of how a young girl has an old man's keys to his establishment” he said, and you rolled your eyes at the comment.

“I've know Ernesto for years, and sometimes I've helped him with the shop. He's like my grandpa, you idiot! I like older men, but it's not that bad” you laughed, but froze while putting your keys into your bag. You did not just say that to him. Your eyes widened and you felt the heat in your cheeks. “I didn't-”

He was looking at you with a raised brow, smiling. “So you think I'm old, huh?”

“So you think I like you?” you answered him without thinking.

He raised both of his brows, and then laughed. “Fair enough.”

You both stood there, looking at each other, not knowing what to say. You wanted to tell him that you wanted to see him again, but without seeming like a stalker. You genuinely had a good time with him.

“So... I guess this is goodbye. It was nice meeting you, Pedro” you said with a small smile. “I'd say see you around, but New York is big, and I don't think you'd had that good of a time.”

“I actually like to come to Ernesto's a bit often when I'm here, so maybe I will. I mean, if that's okay with you. I wouldn't want to disturb or anything” he said, and you almost forgot he was international celebrity. He stood there, looking like a big cuddly thing with his scarf and beanie, with his hand on his pockets and his adorable little smile.

“Why would you? He seems to like you, and any sale is good for the business anyway” you told him.

“Then I'll come back. Maybe see you around. I had fun today, thanks for the chatting and all.”

Oh god, why was he so adorable? You wanted to squish his face into your hands.

“Yeah... That would be great. See you, Pedro.”

“See ya’, kid.”

With a small wave, he turned around, and you watched him leave. You then started walking your way into your apartment, still not knowing how to process what just happened. You took out your phone and opened your sister's chat.

I find amazing the idea of another genius who is a foil of what Artemis could've been was he born in a more normal family. I think most of the problems Artemis has stem from his family, so having Minerva could've helped him realize he could still be a genius, but different, less reliant on his mother and his father. Sad thing she disappeared (Fowl Twins does not exist).

2) I think Butler and the troll. One of the best fight scenes I've ever read, period.

7) easy: Artemis and Minerva stood in close contact (be them friends or lovers, it doesn't matter), because there's no way Artemis finds the only one person that could stand toe to toe with him in a scientific debate and then forgets about her. It would be like for us to discover for the first time that fandoms exists and that there are other people that share our interests.

8) As you could very well understand at this point, more Minerva (I'm working on that). But also Artemis moving away from his family and Holly staying well away from the LEP. Also I'd rewrite the entire interactions of TAC because come on, that's not how you deal with someone with mental illness. Also I generally think that latter books suffer from too many villains, and one of them per book (Minerva, Young Artemis, the Complex) would be more than enough and would have its time to shine. Also, enough of Opal.

9) Again, Minerva (don't know if t counts, and I've already annoyed you more than enough with her) and baby Artemis from TTP, I think the juxtaposition between him and his older self is one thing I really like from TTP. ANother thing I'd change is dump the entire Extinctionist and Opal subplots, and let yong Artemis be the only villain of TTP. He desperate for the money to save his father, and his older self desperate for the lemur to save his mother. Let them clash.

under my main pseudonym that I actually use these days, 610. total, across pseuds, we're looking at 1,013.

4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do not, because I don't know what to say, get overwhelmed, fall behind, get more overwhelmed, and ultimately end up with a backlog I don't feel capable of dealing with so I just don't. I feel bad about this periodically (often) but I don't do anything with that feeling. Just kinda feel bad.

5. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

I've written a lot of fics with angsty endings but I might have to give this one to Mercy, because that was a very mean fic on the whole. arguably even meaner than my other murder/suicide fic.

6. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

I have a hard time with this question because I feel like most times my happy endings are at least touched with some kind of bitterness or loss or at least underlying open door that could be a problem down the line, or, like, lingering trauma.

but on the other hand I'm sure I have written generally happy endings in my backlog of fics, there's just a lot of fic in there so it's hard for me to pull them out, because they're probably also the ones that I find less memorable.

in some ways I think With Absolute Splendor might get this one, because it feels like it has ones of the strongest sense of earned catharsis, even if everything isn't all the way fixed. there's probably happier endings in terms of world state, but that's one where the ending feels happier because it doesn't start that way. but how this grace thing works is also one of the fics where I feel like it's on the whole softer/tenderer than my usual work.

7. Do you write crossovers?

not really! I wrote a few once upon a time, and a couple pastiches (one fandom in the style of another fandom), but those are years behind me and I'm not generally a crossover person as a rule.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

oh yes. most of it more entertaining than truly upsetting, but there are a few exceptions. my favorite remains the person who was really bothered by the fact that my Black Jewels Trilogy fic wasn't High School Musical fic. still no idea what was going on there.

9. Do you write smut?

sure do. I haven't been writing as much these days (but then, I haven't been writing as much these days, full stop) and I've never been all that much of a pwp writer but it's still very much a part of my writing.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

once, some time ago - I think it was Life in Reverse got posted on Wattpad. oh, though there was also another MCU fic that got reposted on AO3, but the person deleted it pretty quickly when I commented to inform them I didn't appreciate their doing so.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have! into a few languages and it's always super cool and flattering to me.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have the one in progress but never anything I've finished/posted. I've done a lot of RP over the years but I always kept it pretty squarely separate from my fic writing.

13. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I've had a lot of all-time favorite ships, and there are plenty for fandoms I'm no longer really in that stick around in my head for longer than I'm really participating in the fandom (Celegorm/Aredhel is notable for this), but I think I will say that Xue Yang/Xiao Xingchen occupies a very particular kind of sort of insane place in my brain that feels relatively unique. so I'll give this one to them.

14. What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

oh lord, so many of them. mostly various MCU wips I'll probably never finish but where I'm like "this was a good idea and I like what I have of it so far, too bad the MCU killed my caring about the MCU." outside of those...I'm so loathe to accept that things will or might remain unfinished, so I'll go with one of those and say the "Hela is around when Thor and Loki are growing up" one, which would've been so good and I still sometimes toy with the idea of returning to, only, you know. aforementioned "caring about the original canon" issue making it hard to actually do the writing thing.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I've been slowly filling out this meme for a while and I left this question conspicuously blank almost to the last. I think my strongest area is probably dialogue, though I worry that I'm giving myself too much credit there. I think I'm pretty good at writing it, though. it certainly is one of the pieces of writing that comes most easily to me.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

description and action, for sure. I tend to skimp on description in a way that probably weakens much of my writing (I have so much respect for writers with good descriptive language), and I loathe writing action scenes the way that I loathe writing few things - it always feels like wrestling a bear. I usually know what I want to have happen as a result but getting there is just. very hard.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

something you gotta be very careful with. I was going to say I almost never do it, but the one exception to that is Lymond Chronicles where I do it a lot, but that's because it's a fairly important part of the style of canon and I'm just. following that lead. otherwise, I tend to shy away from it personally, partly because I write from pretty deep in a character's head and if they don't understand what's being said in another language then that's what I want to convey in the story, rather than giving the reader privileged access to what's being said that the character doesn't have.

does that sound really pretentious? probably.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

technically I wrote a cracky Harry Potter fic first, but I consider my first actual fandom to be Wheel of Time.

19. What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

either bingjiu or beefleaf are two pairings that I love and have a lot of strong feelings about but haven't actually managed to write anything for, and both are on my list as like...just #waiting for the right idea.

also hua cheng/mu qing, which is a tiny pairing of my heart that Needs Me (or whatever) and I know the kind of fic I want to write for it but actually executing it is, as usual, proving harder.

20. What's your favorite fic you've written?

it fluctuates wildly depending on mood, but I'll give this one for now to the backyard is full of bones - it was the first project I bound into a book, which I feel like says something for it.

Hi Seb, I was spending some time thinking about something in the kuroshitsuji community and I'd like to see if more people realize the same thing as me. As you are a very active and communicative person, I thought it would be a good idea to try it for you first. So, I'll get straight to the point and then introduce my point of view, so things move faster.

For some time now I have noticed a huge amount of hypocrisy in the kuroshitsuji fandom, especially in ANTIS, like I see people who are anti Sebaciel, or anti proshipper, but who ship Ciel x Lizzy, which is incest and is included in this proshipper category, every time I question them about this I either get blocked or have my comments deleted, most of the time they use the excuse that incest between cousins ​​can or that at the time it could and that's why it's okay, but that's not really an argument that Do they hate it so much when it comes from a Sebaciel shipper?

Giving some context about myself here so as not to bring up any misunderstanding, I have nothing against anyone who likes these ships. Since the answer is going to be quite long, I put them under the cut...

I'm going to share my own opinion with you in response to your view. Hope that's ok.

Yes, I agree that there are a lot of hypocrisy in the Kuro fandom, most especially among antis. They can't seem to decide what is it that they actually want. I've seen those who support CielLizzy, and those who are against this particular ship because of the incest thing.

To be fair, marriage between cousins (even first cousins) was very common back then in the Victorian era. Queen Victoria & Prince Albert were first cousins too and they got married. The reason why they did this is to keep the 'high blood' in the family and to strengthen their familial bond.

If Ciel & Lizzy get married, then the bond between the Phantomhives & the Midfords will only get stronger and they can keep everything (wealth, nobility, status, power) 'in the family', so to speak.

Even until today, marrying one's cousin is still allowed & legal in some places. Thus, this type of marriage might not be seen as strictly 'incestuous'.

Another reason why those antis are still somewhat okay with this pairing might be because of their age. Ciel & Lizzy are of the same age (Liz is a year older, but that's still considered as 'normal age gap'). And of course, Ciel & Lizzy are 'normal' couple (a man and a woman).

These factors might help them to justify this ship, even if they're techincally incest.

Things are very different when it comes to Sebaciel.

First, they're both males.

Second, there's the whole age gap & pedophilia thing (antis' most favourite argument). Seb is, well, we don't know how old he is, but we can safely assume that he's much, much older than Ciel and it doesn't help that he looks like an adult man. This age gap (in real life) is definitely seen as pedophilia (which I completely agree with).

And then, there's the whole Sebas is a demon who wants to eat Ciel's soul thingy - which is true, but they see Sebas as evil and they're all about 'protecting baby Ciel' because he's been abused. I'm not going to go into why this behaviour is not going to help Ciel because this answer is not about that.

About Harcourt and Sebastian shippers... Well, I can't say anything about this because this too baffles me. Harcourt is only 1 year older than Ciel (he's in second form) and I don't know why they're ok with Seb/Harcourt, but they'd burn Sebaciel at the stakes. I don't ship them, so I cannot find anything to justify/explain this. Whatever thing that Seb did to Ciel, he did it worse to Harcourt, imo, but at least, Ciel knows what kind of bastard Seb is. Seb even laced Harcourt's pie with laxatives, like... why would anyone ship them? Is it because Harcourt is seen as more... feminine & soft compared to Ciel? Shouldn't they worry about traumatizing this boy??

But I digress...

I'm sorry that you've been through such ridiculous thing and I agree that it's very difficult to find others who are neutral when it comes to shipping. In opposite of the antis, we also have the extreme shippers (Sebaciel or otherwise) and they too, are not too friendly towards non-shippers or other shippers.

I generally don't interact with antis because I've got my blog banned twice and I don't want to get a third ban, so I tend to play it safe and stick with the people that I know (either other Sebaciel shippers or the neutral/proship-safe space). Unfortunately, things are very divided in this fandom and you really have to be careful about whom you talk to/interact with.

I have my own 'limits' in the fandoms that I follow (not just Kuro). There are some pairings that I will never ship or headcanons that I will never entertain, but I try to be open until I decide that no, this is not for me.

For what it's worth, I think everyone is waaaaay too young for Sebas, even Tanaka. Some antis ship Sebagni. Agni is 31, so he's about 18 years older than Ciel. But compared to Sebas, he's still much, much too young. Yet, they don't seem to have any problem with shipping them. Maybe because they're both tall, adult men? I don't know... To be very clear, I'm not against Sebagni. It's not my cup of tea (because I think Agni's true soulmate is Soma), but if you ship them, that's cool wih me!

My point is, if you're talking about age gap, the only ones Sebas should be with are either Claude (whose existence I try to ignore/forget) or maybe one of the Reapers.

Sorry that I ended up rambling, but in summary, I agree with you.

A little note... (2/27/24)

Hi guys! I know it's been quite awhile... (maybe about 3 years since i lasted posted something here?) I'm not entirely sure how many of my followers are going to see this (i have no idea if tumblr is a dead platform or not lol), but as you can tell, i completely quit posting my art here... well, MHA overall. I lost interest in the fandom quite a long time ago and even stopped keeping up with it as a whole... Nothing personal, but my interests just shifted and changed. But, I feel like i owed you guys some type of explanation or a 'goodbye'. I'm so, so sorry that it took this long... Basically, I just wanna say that thank you guys for all the fun years on tumblr, and all the mutuals and followers I gained. I will always reminiscence about the good times being on this platform haha. I am going to post all of my MHA art here that I haven't posted very soon! I'm going to keep my tumblr open, so my art remains here :) My instagram is deactivated, and my twitter no longer has any of my old MHA art on it. Yuichi Usagi + SRTUC reflist + overview

ok, so, REPOST, because the og post won't let me edit it..... (deleting the other post later) I've noticed some common ideas online abt Usagi and his show/world and thought I'd make a list of references for folks who haven't seen the show, but would maybe like to know more. Mostly this is like a small rundown of what happens in the series, but maybe this'll help also with writing/drawing the characters. lol this accidentally became too long again with over 3K words >___>;;

Yuichi Usagi is obsessed with becoming a samurai. He is shown reading a comic about his own ancestor, Miyamoto Usagi (the protagonist of the Usagi Yojimbo comic irl, which is what the show is loosely based on). We can assume there are more comics about his ancestor and other family lore.

He is a bit reckless and prone to accidents and distraction. He also fantasizes a lot about fighting and being a cool samurai.

Like his ancestor, he has a pet lizard, Spot! Spot looks a bit like a weird cross between a tiny dinosaur and a regular green lizard (like in the comics), but is basically Usagi's only friend to confide in at the farm. Spot acts a lot like a pet or dog would. Tokage (lit. lizards) are very common in this world.

Before his 16th birthday, Usagi lives with his auntie on their family farm, but after messing up a farmbotto and getting into an argument with her, he decides it's better to leave to Neo Edo, to become a real samurai.

He plans to do this by riding on his Ki-cycle, an energy-powered tri-wheeled motorbike (it has a battery-pack)

His auntie agrees, because even tho she has trained him in sword-fighting and combat, that's all she had and Usagi needs a real swordmaster, a true sensei who will teach him when to not use a sword. (boy is a little bit sword-happy)

Usagi's auntie has a missing left ear-half and left leg (from some unknown wars only mentioned in passing)

His auntie gives him her own sword, Edgewing, which she made with her own grandfather. It has a red scabbard and a purple pommel - a crystal with a butterfly inside it. She calls this the Omurasaki, a "family heirloom" from Miyamoto Usagi himself (this will become important later), citing that it has brough her good luck despite the missing ear and leg.

Arriving in the city, Usagi is completely awe-struck and foregoes all caution, showing us how distracted he gets and has to be saved by Spot from on-coming traffic. This is his first time seeing Ki-stone powered cars, trolleys or streets.

Usagi decides to visit the Ki-Stone temple, a place where he fantasizes the Ki-Stone will give him some sort sort of power (he is 16). This is a show-only element, but seems to be based on elements in Senso, a stand-alone book in UY, which predates the WhereWhen crossover with the IDW turtles, but happens after WhereWhen. No spoilers but the show lifts a few crucial ideas from this stand-alone comic.

Usagi is not a yokai, but he is obsessed with yokai, who in his world have been a myth and children's tales for 1000 years. Usagi is well-versed in many yokai myths because of his obsession with his "yokai hunter samurai ancestor" and can tell at a glance who or what a type of yokai is.

in truth, yokai were locked away by his ancestor from the Edo era, Miyamoto Usagi, who is a well-known traitor because of this incident, which involved. Usagi does not know this at first and the 1st season deals with him uncovering the reasons why his ancestor was branded a traitor.

Because of this, Usagi is immediately looked at with disdain or avoided, because he is the only white rabbit to appear in Neo Edo in a long time and that makes him stick out.

On his way to the Ki-Stone temple, he accidentally bothers and angers 3 people: Gen, Kitsune and Chizu. They all wanna beat him up for his transgressions but over the first 4 episodes, they bond over hi-jinks and become close friends after Usagi is arrested when exiting the Ki-Stone temple.

Him, Gen and Kitsune also anger the Mogura gang, styles to look sorta like 1970s yakuza, but also like 1950s greasers (they will show up in the series for a few more key moments). This is when Usagi shows his quick thinking by jamming Edgewing's end-cap into a crumbling ceiling and saving the group from the gang.

After this tunnel fight, Kitsune discovers a shiny green egg with metal scales and decides to keep it in hopes of earning some money with it (her puppet has been destroyed in the tunnel-slide caused by Usagi) This egg will come up again later.

Dropping the last name Usagi introduces himself as Usagi to Kitsune, but Gen is still mad at him and they give chase.

Somehow the three of them arrive at the Ki-Stone temple thru the tunnel network, angering Chizu, and the three newer characters gang up on Usagi until they're stopped by Tetsujin, guardian of the Ki-Stone, a Kaikishi warrior. (This will become an oft-used term in the show - we can assume, it's basically meant for all who become a guardian warrior of the Ki-Stone)

Usagi gets distracted and even while Tetsujin is warning him, touches the Ki-Stone, showing us some foreshadowing for the next 19 episodes.

Because of his relation to Miyamoto Usagi, Usagi releases the yokai who have been trapped for 10 decades.

Unlike Tetsujin, Usagi does not become a ghost-like person, but he does sputter out for a moment while he sees his own ancestor and a bunch of other images ghost over his mind.

Usagi basically starts to have visions of Miyamoto Usagi each time he touches the Ki-Stone. Each time he comes in contact becomes gradually more painful.

Tetsujin "is transmuted into another state of being" - so he's basically a ghost, but science-reasons that he's just on another plane of existence now (which... is sorta what ghosts are lol)

The last to be released is Kagehito (lit. "shadow person"), who immediately clocks Usagi as his ancestor Miyamoto Usagi (this will become a common occurence in his life now) and proceeds to threaten him for the 1000-year imprisonment.

Realizing this is in-fact, some random rabbit and not the guy who trapped him, he throws Usagi from 3 stories or so and flies away through the hole on top of the Ki-Stone temple. Usagi survives this drop and calls the incident awesome.

Basically, this guy is really excited to fight yokai.

Over the next 3+ episodes, he learns that actually, yokai are not all bad and most of them are sorta benign, if not outwardly friendly. Over the show you will see the friend-crew and other citizens get used to these friendlier yokai.

The Ki-Stone gives Usagi a change at having a mystical weapon, only given to Kaikishi warriors like Tetsujin was.

Because he is distracted again, he picks a yoyo as it sticks out to him on the big shelf. No take-backsies from the Ki-Stone, she seals the shelf and he is left with this yoyo. Quickly recovering from this shock of not getting a sword, Usagi gets used to having a different weapon.

The yoyo is magnetic, and also glows and hovers a bit when near yokai. It can be used to capture or lead yokai.

Exiting to outside commotion, this group of 5 find that the shogun of Neo Edo, Lord Kogane, has come to arrest the trouble-maker (remember how the citizens looked all disappointed when he arrived in Neo Edo?)

Lord Kogane arrests him after Usagi proudly names himself the descendant of Miyamoto Usagi. Here Usagi also finds out his ancestor is a historically well-known traitor, even a 1000 years later.

These 3 strangers who wanted to clobber him, take pity and go to covertly save him from the jailhouse. Both Gen and Chizu surprised that the other 2 are also there. there's a lot of fun banter between them.

Meanwhile, Usagi gets told the tale about how his ancestor is not the hero he thought he was and killed the shogun from 1000 years ago. Usagi gets depressed and thinks he's gonna live in that jail in-definitely. Until he notices, the yoyo is magnetic, decides he's gonna clear his ancestors name (biggest Miyamoto Usagi defender alive lol) and escapes the jail through hi-jinks and beating up the cop.

Gen and Kitsune have located his cell, Gen breaks the wall as Usagi's just made his cell-escape and he immediately offers friendship and hugs.

Usagi finds more uses for the kaikishi yoyo, when fighting Karasu-Tengu (based on real myth yokai, the crow-headed demi-gods who sometimes trained samurai...) who also at first thinks he's Miyamoto Usagi. He survives the fight due to his auntie's teachings, some skill and sheer dumb luck, capturing her sword and releasing his new friends. She backs off because she has no beef with this new random rabbit.

The Shogun still wants to arrest them after saving his life from Karasu-Tengu, but they somehow extort him to become his Yokai fighters instead (he needed clean-up in his personal museum)

Chizu has an interesting backstory which is already apparent from her first appearance and is slowly uncovered and dissected over episodes 2-6. It's further expanded upon in season 2 as she becomes the leader of the Neko Ninja gang.

Lady Fuwa is the leader of the Neko Ninja crew, and also the person who kidnapped Chizu from an orphanage (although, it's only implied, so she could have also been kidnapped from a real home)

From episode 3 onwards, we get glimpses of Gen's backstory as well. We also meet Gen's twin little sister, Toshiko, who left to join the circus after their family home was taken by the shogun to be city property, turned into a "museum". A subplot of this is Toshiko buying the mansion back from Lord Kogane, and the Murakami estate becomes home for their group.

In the process of fighting yokai at the museum, Gen's horn gets cut off.

In episode 4, Usagi and Kitsune leave the mansion to find a replacement horn for Gen. Outside they discover a bounty has been put on Usagi's head and Usagi and Kitsune get knocked out by the Mogura gang thanks to Usagi's recklessness.

Chizu also arrives there, to scare off the Mogura.

However, another gang, The Bat Squadron, has also come to collect the bounty and the leader of the Mogura, Chikabuma, leaves his knife with Usagi, who fights the admiral of the bat squadron. (Chikabuma will feature again later on...)

Overwhelmed by the fight (there's only him and Kitsune, with Chizu flying around in a stolen hovercraft), they're saved by Gen busting the fight with some common sense (the bat squadron would also get arrested by the city police...)

Re-arrested by Lord Kogane, Usagi uncovers that the Shogun's hat was posessed, posessing the Lord in return, and makes a deal with the hat-yokai and the shogun and earns enough trust for people to believe that there are yokai out again.

Obsessed with not being a third-rate crew next to the other two, Chikabuma makes a deal with Kagehito, to help him uncover some lost craft or ship. Over the season, because they were chased away by the Bat Squadron the Mogura crew helps Kagehito.

Kitsune does not really have a backstory-proper like Gen and Chizu, so you can sort of give her your own version or headcanons. What we do know:

She's highly adept at puppeteering (she's introduced as a scammer-puppet-actor, with a dancing O-dokuro puppet)

She is very good at stealing (but still gets caught by Usagi twice)

She mostly uses her fans for self-defense

her S2 fans can disappear and re-appear at will.

Assuming it's more than a reference to comics-Kitsune, she probably can actually dance herself too

Before meeting the other three, she slept on the streets and is used to making traps to help her avoid capture.

Her and Chizu are both orphans. Gen and Usagi had parents, but lost them at some point before the series began.

She hates being alone, which can be seen how much she wants to be friends with Usagi, Chizu and Gen, but also has trust issues, with how she reacts to Chizu's betrayal.

She has some sort of queer undertones going on with Chizu, and seeing how there's an openly gay writer on the show team, it's not out of the question that these undertones and subtext are intentional. Go wild with this info!

In episode 5, Usagi has located Karasu-Tengu and challenged her to a spar because he wants the best sensei. Karasu-Tengu agrees to teach him if he captures 3 urban yokai. This has a really cool plot-line over the next 3-4 episodes which leads to Chizu and Usagi basically adopting a little sister, Hana ("flower").

Over the next 2-3 episodes, Usagi succeeds in capturing 2 of the urban yokai, Destruction and Distraction (also overcoming some of his own bad tendencies haha)

Gen and Kitsune take Usagi to the game arcade for the first time

Somehow they encounter Hakai, the desctruction yokai, posessing a construction-botto. Usagi has been trying to discourage the others from helping so far, so sure he could capture them on his own, but after getting battered and captured, agrees to their help.

Chizu tries to keep the crew away from the Ki-Stone temple to no avail (with an addition of, I'm sorry, but frankly hilarious haunting of Lady Fuwa as the full moon)

Usagi receives another vision, confirming that Miyamoto Usagi did kill the shogun then.

Chizu is revelead as a Neko Ninja spy, but betrays her ninja crew

Chizu has become really attached to Kitsune, Usagi and Gen, so she sees them as her true family now

She has a lot to make up for, especially to Kitsune, but they basically make up while Gen and Usagi are capturing Sakuran, the deception yokai.

He does not succeed capturing the 3rd urban yokai "Deception", but instead find one of the Neko Ninja dojo trainees, Hana. Hana tells them that her friend Kana pretends to be her so she can avoid doing all the assassination and fighting training.

The 3rd yokai has befriended Hana and after hearing Hana's please, Usagi decides it is wrong to capture this one. They visit the Ki-Stone temple instead to show the kids the Ki-Stone and so that Usagi can say his goodbyes to Tetsujin.

The Murakami siblings discover that one of the yokai who has stayed behind, has posessed their old Ashi-basha, a fancier kind of car, which they associate with the better times with their family.

Chikabuma and his gang have helped Kagehito uncover his space-ship and he reveals his plan to wipe out all life

Usagi takes Hana to live with his Auntie and having given up his samurai dream, asks to live there too. But wait!

Hana's friend Kana was actually Karasu-Tengu in disguise, tesing Usagi on his earnestness to learn, because the skills she teaches can become more than lethal (basically, Usagi would eventually have supernatural abilities in the sword, if he continues)

Because of the promise of everything being destroyed, Chikabuma goes to warn Usagi and his friends, who go looking for Usagi at his farm with the Ashi-basha.

Usagi receives his training and spends 2 seasons on a magical mountain where time passes weirdly and not at all. When he arrives back in Neo Edo, it's night-time, instead of evening.

His family and friends are fighting O-Dokuro, who's been spying for Usagi to leave (his mystic yoyo being the only thing able to stop O-Dokuro), and came to the farm looking for a fight because of his pride as a yokai warrior.

Because of this training Usagi now defeats the Bat Squadron with ease, with help from Chikabuma.

The rest of the orphan crew + auntie have arrived at the Ki-Stone temple, they fight the Neko Ninja, with Lady Fuwa gaining the upper hand with numbers.

Usagi arrives and defeats the Neko Ninja forces (ngl, I personally thought this fight scene could have been better, but, it also gets the point across pretty clearly that Usagi has become a cut above the rest now)

all the while, Kagehito and Tetsujin (juiced up by the Ki-Stone), have been having an all-out battle at the temple

Usagi and crew chase after Kagehito at the bottom of the temple stairs, letting Usagi take the reigns in capturing him, but Kagehito breaks Usagi's yoyo. Usagi gets sad about this and so...

Kagehito succeeds in his plan to attach the "Clavis" device onto the Ki-Stone and she opens up a big portal in the sky.

Kagehito is freed and reveals that he was under the control of the Makkine, which the sky butterfly is a harbinger of. When the portal opens, a big monster will first arrive, with hundrends of warbotto.

Usagi leaps at the Clavis, trying to remove it from the Ki-Stone and has another vision, of what really happened 1000 years ago.

Everyone else sees this vision too this time! Miyamoto Usagi's name is cleared.

Usagi notes that she must have shown this for a reason and needs a missing piece, which has been lost for a thousand years.

Usagi realizes that Omurasaki is actually the missing piece of the Ki-Stone, attached to Edgewing, which he gave to his auntie earlier after the Neko Ninja fight.

At Gen's mansion, Lady Fuwa has been stalking after Hana and auntie as well and when Usagi arrives, threatens Hana's life, but the yokai save her.

They stop the Clavis from further infecting the Ki-Stone and the big hole in the sky closes up, replaced by a bright energy-butterfly.

Usagi's yoyo is repaired by the Ki-Stone as thanks for saving her and he puts the dying Kagehito back in her in the hopes of saving him.

In the 2nd season, Gen, Chizu and Kitsune also get their own personal Kaikishi weapons!

A big butterfly looms over the temple for the rest of the 2nd season and everyone mostly hand-waves it as "solved problem"

The Ki-Stone is silent in S2 and doesn't speak to Tetsujin anymore.

The 2nd season it's mentioned a few times that the Ki-Stone always being "on" makes it really really bright in both day and night in N-E.

Usagi being as self-important as he sees himself after the season 1 finale, feels jealous of his friends getting cooler kaikishi weapons and decides, "he'll be their sensei". Hilarity ensues.

The Bat Squadron kidnaps the shogun, because they want him to shut down the Ki-Stone Usagi trusts his friends to fight properly with their new weapons.

After going to eat, Kitsune discovers that the small green egg she discovered in the mogura tunnels after meeting Usagi, is actually alive. she names it Kiyoko.

this egg becomes like an adopted sister and will feature a lot in this season (by namesake, she's basically a reference to comics-Kitsune's adopted sister, a young girl also trained as a thief by UY Kitsune)

It's revealed in ep 2 that Usagi's ears are at least partially prehensile??? (he can lift and move them separately to grasp and throw Kiyoko) I just thought this was a funny detail, but must have been fun to board for the pre-production crew.

The orphan crew take some time off playing at the arcade again, but are attacked again by O-dokuro, who wants to get rid of yokai fighters once and for all (lot of fun fights in this ep, Usagi's yoyo gets stuck in a gacha machine because of O-Dokuro)

After the fight and collecting all of O-Dokuro's bones besides his head, Usagi allows him to live with them

They basically domesticate him in skull-form 😂 he befriends the kids visiting at the Murakami residence and Kitsune starts to feel like it's a real family.

Chizu and Kitsune save the other Neko Ninja kids. (ep 3)

Chizu challenges Lady Fuwa to a duel, defeating her fair and square and becoming the next Lady of the dojo.

As a result of this, she shares her time between the dojo and Kaikishi warrior duties, so the team's attention is sorta split between no yokai to fight and some looming danger they don't know yet.

The makkine warbotto are back. They keep 3D-printing themselves at the Sakura part where Usagi and Karasu-Tengu sparred in S1.

The crew retrieve the orb where Kagehito's people are trapped in some form of forced stasis.

They find out the Clavis (the creepy red thing) is so attached to the Ki-Stone, they might as well be one

cutting the Clavis would cut the connection to the other dimension

The only thing that can cut the Ki-Stone is Miyamoto Usagi's own sword, which cut the piece (Omurasaki) 1000 years prior.

They retrieve Miyamoto Usagi's sword, Willow Branch (with no sign of Young Willow, his wakizashi). We're given a backstory about the sword being lost with a family servant, who went on to search for it his whole life after losing it in the midst of some battle.

The whole episode about retrieving the sowrd is fun, I rec it.

Kitsune gets to pilot a big mecha built by Tetsujin (a defensebotto)

Cutting the Clavis off would also mean losing the connection to Kagehito's people, so Usagi bides his time.

He meditates on the sword and meets his ancestor face-to-face, getting to actually speak to Miyamoto Usagi and learn from him (it's funny, plz watch it)

The Neko Ninja crew betrays Chizu, save for one (Fumiko), the rest joining back with Lady Fuwa

Fumiko also escapes the situation, and Chizu is left alone to fight Fuwa, but Fumiko returns with Kitsune and her giant botto, scaring away Fuwa and her ninja

Kiyoko is revealed to be a makkine warmachine, but as she puts it, she's a "learning machine" and learned so much from Kitsune and the others, she doesn't want to forma a super mega biomech with the other biomechs around Neo Edo.

roll out-on-town sibling sequence as Kitsune and Kiyoko go around town doing fun stuff and scaring the city folk (lol)

the makkine warbotto find the other warmachine eggs and we're shown that they can reset them (one of them had learned from Chikabuma's personality), Kiyoko gets upset at after accidentally hurting Kitsune and escapes the mansion crying, seeing how the others are afraid of her

She's caught by the warbotto and after a big fight, she is connected with the other biomechs, over-riding her personality

More makkine warbotto and wawrmachines start coming through because the bat-squadron decided to sap the Ki-Stone from energy…… the last 2 eps deal with Usagi and the orphan crew + the Bat Squadron and Mogura crew dealing with this outfall!

Kiyoko is revealed to have over-ridden the big bio-mechs personality herself, bc Kitsune's personality is basically too big to be over-ridden and she learned from her.

Dividing the teams into three, they defeat the aliens, save Kagehito's people and Usagi finally cuts the Clavis off the Ki-Stone for good. Fuwa and the Neko Ninja help a little too.

(Gen with Nochi and Kagehito going after the supreme commander through the dimension portal, Kitsune, Kiyoko, O-Dokuro and Karasu-Tengu defending the city from the warbotto and mega-biomechs and Usagi and Tetsujin + later Fuwa and Chizu at the temple)

they seemingly destroy the makkine for good (as evidenced by Kiyoko also dropping dead with the rest of the warmachines and warbotto + the big explosion in the sky)

they get to keep Kiyoko alive via Ki-Stone battery.

Although the Bats take the credit, the shogun agrees to shut down the city's lights for the night, revealing the night sky for the first time since the Ki-Stone was almost shut down by the Clavis in S1. Usagi spies on this ceremony, reacting to Admiral Nochi being awarded.

Despite this, he sits happily with his friends at the end of the episode, saying they've earned this and that this sky and his friends are all he needs. (leaving the series at a nice open but conclusive ending)

Okay so, I really have no idea what i look like through someone else's eyes, but i don't like to talk to people often in my real life. I don't like selfish, liars, two faced people. So can we say that I am as lonely as Sasuke? Yes I am. (I've already said that i feel close to Sasuke's character during the insta Q&A thing) but anyways… That's why there are very few people around me that I truly trust. And Snow is one of them.

Now coming back to your questions… Well…… Firstly i didn't like you calling her "the artist named snow124". I mean, what does that mean !? Many people in the sns community don't think of more than one person when Snow124 is mentioned, right (?) but everyone thinks of only one artist. So I would understand if you only say Snow124. (Just felt like you were trying to marginalize her or something, and this bothered me)！ Secondly, have you ever thought of turning the mirror at yourself before calling someone rude, unsympathetic, stupid, idiot etc? When there's a disagreement, do you really think it's always the other person's fault ? …You know what, I asked Snow first before answering your ask just because her name is mentioned here. And if she had said "don't answer", I wouldn't have answered. But why did I do that? After all, this is my ask box, my account, so why am i asking her? But actually the real question is, why do you post her artwork that she spends her hours maybe days on your own account without even asking her permission, while I get permission from her just because her name was mentioned in a question that came to me? Can you see the difference between these two examples i gave? Well, if you still can't see it, i'll explain in one word. This is "respect"！

Is that your commission? No. Is it your work? No. Is it your idea, design, collab or something? No. So then, who gave you the right to post someone else's work for just a few likes and followers? And what kind of reaction do you expect the artist to react to your disrespect towards their work? Think about it a little……

It's not the first time I've seen people call Snow rude. And maybe others are right in their own way but her attitude or words were never rude to me… I think it's wrong to expect everyone to give the same reaction when faced with a problem or something！For example; I'm not good at controlling myself emotionally …not that professional yet. On the other hand, I see that Snow is able to keep her emotional side more controlled and stronger than me. But do you think that means she's callous? I know many people don't even care about empathy. But just for once, have you ever thought about this repost issue from an artist's perspective? Snow124 herself always says she's as cold as snow. Not rude but she is aware that she has a cold personality. So maybe "No." sounds very rude to you but it's just a simple no to her, you never know. And before I talk to someone, i try to get to know that person. I already knew she was like that, and frankly i like her critical attitude. She can see details that I can't see, but I take this as help, not rudeness (and this is one of the reasons i chose her as my teacher). I mean if someone likes rock music and says they hate pop, then I wouldn't try to get them to like pop music. Briefly, I accept that person as they are… Not with everyone but sometimes I talk so much that others even get a headache because of me …and from time to time Snow also (maybe forcibly) puts up with this side of me *im sorry* x) And she usually gives short answers to my boring novels but I never questioned that, or didn't think she was rude, or something. Do you know why? 'Cause she's not me, i'm not her. Maybe there are common tastes but one person is never 100% the same as another person. I never expected anything in return when i drew her a gift or a piece. When I care about someone or something i do it without expecting anything in return (this is also one of the reasons why i still keep drawing Naruto and Sasuke)

When it comes to "tolerate" thing… Hmm ok I don't understand exactly what you're talking about. I mean it's not about tolerating Snow, on the contrary she tolerates me at many points (and my silly jokes that aren't funny at all x)) Also yeah there are many things in my real life that I have to tolerate, so i just remember how i was able to calm my mind again thanks to my fanart accounts and some golden people here…

Also if I remember correctly, someone on insa said i was nicer than Snow for warning them before reporting their repost, just like you anon. But after that due to another report, someone else started sending abusive messages to my personal email address. Yes maybe i'm more patient about reposts than her, but not anymore！Everyone has a limit, please remember this！ And one last thing, you guys don't even realize when you're actually being rude by directly calling someone rude.

The hypocrisy is pouring from both of you with these side by sides in the same matter of days.

"You look at Cece's pages - that she uses specifically to harass, stalk, and defame you all the time!!" ~ meanwhile, scrolling my Facebook feed everyday and making paragraph posts about my selfies and photos with my boyfriend that have nothing to do with either of you.

Within a day if not a few hours of me posting those photos. Then, somehow seeing how many Facebook photos I have "as of today" being within 24 hours of me posting that.

The photos with my boyfriend were posted September 9th and the other September 8th. One of which was posted hours before a few of their posts. See the date comparisons and quoted references.

Side note: I've had my facebook for nearly 20 years and obviously, it's not just pictures of me in there. I use it to store literally all my photos I take, even memes, cool pictures I find on the internet etc. I have six full albums just of my cats, animals, and my friend's pets. Another 9 full albums of pictures with friends and family dating all the back since I was kid. 4 albums full of concert photos. You get the idea. It's a way to easily access my photos without my computer and I love taking pictures. Oops, sue me. I'm curious how you saw my photo count though. That should be private, not public. Interesting.

And apparently you're still scrolling through alllll of my photos to somehow find pictures of my ex in the background of another probably old ass picture because this is the SECOND time you've thrown a tantrum about something like this. It's like you just scroll through my feed all the time very intently looking for problems because I never know what the fuck you're talking about at first. Like seriously, how are you noticing more about a profile than the owner of the fucking profile dude. I think that says a lot. And you'll probably scroll through my profile every day waiting me for delete whichever photo it is like last time because I have no idea what you're talking about yet again and hint hint for your sake: I'm not scrolling through all of my pictures to do that for you again. I deleted the one profile picture, which took me a good 20 minutes to find because he was literally blending in the background mind you, and I'm not doing all of that again. I shouldn't have cared to do so in the first place. Especially not for you and your first world problems.

Oh, and if you're talking about the group picture in my memorial letter to my friend's dead mom whom I was close to, that I posted YEARS ago, I'm not deleting that. There were like 12 people in the picture, and it's sentimental. Hence why it was included in that memorial post. The context of that photo goes beyond my ex's stupid ass being in it. I'm not exactly happy about him tainting the picture, but the good in that photo outweighs that one irritating part and when I posted that status we weren't on bad terms. We weren't even dating when that picture was taken either and unlike you, I'm capable of getting the fuck over petty shit like that and not letting one measly bad thing ruin the entirety of something good. It's called growing up. You should try it some time.

So no, I'm not going to re-edit the post, which means deleting all those pictures and reposting them just so one can be cropped since that's what I would have to do. I'm not going to those great lengths for you, especially considering you'll just pick to find more problems even if I did what you wanted like you do every time. You're not and will never again receive even an inch of effort from me in regards to your wants. That post isn't about him and it's definitely not about you in the slightest. It was never about him or you and it never will be. Editing that post would ultimately be me allowing you to control me and I'm not about it. You can eat shit instead.

Ah, and the old photo of my cat Eddie when I first took him home as a kitten, the one you were going on about claiming my ex was in it. That wasn't my ex. That was my friend K****. Which I find hilarious that you thought him and my ex looked similar considering his age and your age as well as other interesting circumstances by the way. I could pull up the videos I took of him on the couch playing with my cat that same day, same shirt and all, but I'm personally good on wasting my time to prove something so stupid to you in particular. But anyways, the whole people keeping pictures with their exes is actually a pretty common scenario and most stable people don't give a fuck about stuff like that. The bigger picture is that those photos, whether they are with a person you don't get along with anymore or because you're simply not dating them anymore, are visual representations of a certain point in your life or a good memory that doesn't just have to do with the people in the photo. The whole "erasing your past" thing is actually unhealthy, disconnects you from pieces of your identity, puts you at risk of repeating mistakes, suppresses emotional healing, etc., and pictures most definitely come into play with that. Most people aren't constantly looking at those old photos either, like people aren't always keeping pictures with exes because they still like them or miss them romantically. It's not black and white like that. Pictures with people you don't get along with anymore in general still reflect a part of your life, produce memories, remind you of who you were, and still somewhat define who you are now and that's what all it is. I also think it's important to make yourself capable of separating a good memory from an irrelevant bad situation. And I think you're incredibly weak-minded getting mad about a reminder of his past, and a reminder that would be avoidable if you didn't stalk me on the daily. To me it sounds like "omg amber won't delete a couple stray pictures of my boyfriend to make me stalking her more convenient for me!! 🤬" and it's sick. A toddler throwing a tantrum. I was checking my AO3 statistics just for fun. So fetch some tea and have a seat, darling. I'm gonna ramble a lot!

2020 I was already playing Ikevamp, Ikesen, Ikerev, and Obey Me, but didn't write anything for them. Well, except for that one Obey Me fanfic. I was in the BNHA fandom and wrote lots of fanfics for it. However, most of them were reposts because I had to delete my account from another site. They banned my friend, and they were targeting Kacchako writers, so I saved everything I've ever written and reposted it on AO3 and Wattpad (which meand some of these fanfics aren't from 2020 but from 2018 and 2019). At that time, I was involved in a writing project for Kacchako and one for Ochako, so it helped me to write more.

2021 I didn't post anything on AO3 because I didn't get many views there. Since everything I wrote was in portuguese, and the BNHA fandom that writes and reads in portuguese wasn't really active there. However, I posted 3 fanfics on Wattpad (if you wanna check it out, just know I'm not active there anymore). Three fanfics for a whole year. Ouch.

2022 I wrote... 3 fanfics. Again. I didn't post anything on another site; I just didn't write anything else. I stopped playing Ikevamp after they released Sebastian's route and barely opened Obey Me. So I didn't write anything, even though I read a lot and had some good ideas. It was a weird year for me... I didn't accomplish anything. I could've spent the whole year sleeping, and it would have the same result: nothing. Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound sad! It's just how I feel now that I look back and think about it.

2023 Sometimes I just write like a robot, and when I realize it, there's a whole fanfic ready to be posted. But other times, I struggle, and I spend a whole week writing a small scenario because the words just fly away from my brain, HASIHEUASIEHA. English is not my first language, and I had COVID twice, so my memory is fucked up. It was never good, but it got worse, HASIUEHAS.

These statistics aren't even for the whole year; I started writing again in October! I already had this blog in 2020, but I only reblogged. When I spent the whole year away from everything, I didn't even read here anymore. So I'm really happy and proud of everything I did in 2023! Being active here brought me some good friends (yes, all my mutuals are already my besties, and you can't run away from me! I'll chase you all if you try!) and I'm really glad to be back.

And for 2024, I hope everything gets even better! I wanna try opening requests too, but it's still an idea. I'm not sure if I should and if I'll be able to handle it HASIUHEUSAIHEA. I plan to write more (I have lots of WIPs, HELP AHSEUHSA) and to play the games I liked again (I'm already back at Ikesen!).
