it's a little story, what would happen if Anne got know Winnie before the fair
"You should be seen by a doctor" - these were the exact words Marilla said when Anne complained to her about a persistent headache for the fourth day in a row. Immediately after the meal, they went to Charlottetown to Dr. Ward's clinic.
Unfortunately, the man had a patient there, patients, as said, this lovely girl- I mean woman, and laughed.
"My friend," she blushed, which, despite the headache, put a smile on the Anne's face, "is here with a sick man. I'm almost sure it's his friend. The man had a gum infection, so the doctor naturally wanted to give him an injection." "It turned out that my friend was terrified of needles." the women laughed, but only when she added that the boy in question was planning to become a doctor, Anne's hysterical laughter filled the room.
"Miss Rose, when I asked you to keep my patient company while her mother was away, I asked you to perform the task in silence." they heard the doctor from behind the open door.
"Of course, sorry, doctor Ward."
After the door closed, they burst into laughter again.
"Miss Rose?" Ania asked and laughed.
"Winnifred Rose, Miss," she lifted her chin and, with a great deal of drama, reached out for the girl's hand, "and the missus' name is…" she raised an eyebrow with a smile.
Anne got up and played the lady as best she could.
"Anne Shirley-Cuthbert, Miss." she offered her hand to the woman, who raised it to her mouth and kissed it, bowing.
For the third time that day in twenty minutes, they laughed and sat down.
"How do you prefer to pronounce it?"
"Huh?"
"Anne with or without an e?"
Anne opened her mouth, but nothing came out, when her eyes filled with tears. Winnifred thought she shouldn't ask, so she mentally chastised herself and quickly apologized when she interrupted.
"That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Ever, Winnifred!" she threw herself into her arms, crying. "Do you feel it too? Oh, please tell me you do!"
"What, Anne?"
"That we are kinder spirits! Made to live together! Oh, it's a gift from God that your friend and his friend showed up here today, and Marilla - that woman who came here with me, my mother - had to run errands, otherwise I wouldn't have met you and… oh, it's a good thing I'm thinking too much about Gil-school, because it gives me a headache and now I'm here! Don't you think it's wonderful, Winnie? Can I call you that? Or maybe they call you something else? Or we'll come up with nice names for each other like Cordelia or Anastasia, definitely not like carrot or…"
"The doctor will see you now, Miss…" She was interrupted by a man leaving the room when Anne recognized him as Bash. "By holy mango, who do we have here! Anne Shirley-Cuthbert herself! Blythe! You won't believe me when I tell you…"
Bash is here! Anne almost threw herself wight into him, until she remembered what Winnie told her - his friend - Gilbert. Gilbert...?
"Gilbert!"
"Oh, no, it's Bash," he corrected her and laughed to himself. The thing they had was just... Let's say he didn't understand and couldn't do it, how a person can be that blind!
The hilarious necessity of this situation; Bash stood with a wet bandage at the speech, he could barely say anything due to the pain, Anne was both red and very surprised, and Winnifred was confused and didn't know what the hell was going on.
“I…” she won't communicate to Gilbert, she couldn't communicate, in the condition she was now; the device wasn't even properly braided when it was made, and in one second all the energy she had while talking to Winnie was gone. She wanted to run away. It was actually a very good idea. "I'm in a hurry and I'm basically feeling very good, so…" she turned around, ready to run away, but instead of a door, she met the wall. Really hard.
“Annie!” she heard the worried cry of her new friend who had caught and turned her to herself to look for any sign of demage.
But this scream was enough to make the last few person jump out of the office.
"Annie…"
Gilbert.
Oh God, you really do hate me.
"Hey."
Gilbert cleared his throat, scanning the room with his watchful gaze, only now noticing Winnie. He opened his mouth to speak when Dr. Ward spoke.
“Everyone, what's going on here?” He looked around at the faces of the others and saw that quite a scene was taking place.
If he had had the afternoon free, he would have let it unfold by itself without his help so he could tell his wife everything over tea when he got home, but unfortunately that was not the case, so he was left to ask his charges next time.
"Anne, yes?" she nodded. "Will Marilla show up?" she shook her head. "Okay, let's go check you out. Something terrible must have happened if you can't get a word out. Winnie, will you?"
"What was that, Blythe, huh?" Bash laughed to himself, after the three of them got to the room.
"Let's go home, Bash..." he replied, confused, his head starting to hurt from frowning.
She will be his death. His Anne with an e.
