A long time ago I had an idea for a yugioh archetype whose gimmick is having spells that you can only cast using monster effects that excavate (reveal) the top few cards of your deck and let you cast a spell from among them. I've been thinking about the idea again and shifted it to milling the top card of your deck and doing different things depending on the top card, with ways to manipulate the top card of your deck to get the effect you want.
#asks#custom cards#the original flavor was having the spells be minerals that the miners excavate#i kept the old archetype name as a placeholder but then never replaced it so now the flavor is pretty off#the milling still feels like mining but now the minerals are mostly in the extra deck#i also have no idea whether the mechanics work well#in terms of power the archetype is probably unplayable compared to what's happening in modern yugioh lol#also i made MagiMineral Geode a tuner for no reason whatsoever. it just felt right#the itch to finally make this archetype was what got me to redownload the yugioh mse files#i've said before that mtg is great for individual cards but yugioh is great for archetypes#you can make a bunch of dumb gimmicky bullshit cards that need each other to work and it's just normal#the drawback is that i feel the need to make enough cards to have a whole playable deck so i need to make like 12 cards + extra deck#no idea if that's actually how many cards normal yugioh archetypes have lol
