â§.* just like dad / ls2 *.â§
little luna sargeant's got her mind set on one thing: she wants to be just like dad when she grows up.
notes: HURRRR THEY WONT TAKE ME OFF SHADOWBAN SO I'M POSTING HERE UNTIL THEY TAKE ME OFF and yes i'm still tagging it under dpm LMFAOOO
âiâm nervous.â logan glances at the sleeping 5-year-old sprawled across the backseat with her koala stuffie covering her face. he sits back again and glances at you, eyes stuck on the road ahead.
you hum and glance over at him, shaking his leg as he twists his body and takes another look at your daughter. âitâs not even your race, babe.â
you hear logan sigh exasperatedly, staring longingly at the snoring kid. âi know itâs her race. but you know,â he trails off, tilting his head slightly.
he doesnât get nervous about his races anymore. so when the then 4-year-old daughter came up to him after his race in miami talking about how she wanted to register for a karting race this year, he was more than flabbergasted. he remembers looking over at you in shock while you just shrugged and told him, âyou heard the lady.â
while youâre not entirely pleased by your daughterâs decision to start karting, you wouldnât ever dare to be the parent who told her what she can and cannot do. itâs a value that you and logan had discussed earlier in your relationship and something youâve tried to stick to heavily.
if you have the means to ensure that your daughter can do what her heart desires, then why would you ever deny her?
logan would have preferred for his carbon copy to not subject herself to the brutality of the sport heâs gotten himself into, but he also cannot help the feeling of pride growing in his chest at the thought of his daughter taking after him. there is something so endearing about the way she wants to be just like him â in her words, not his.
âyou can always tell her not to race,â you shrug. âno harm in saying no.â
he throws his head back as he gets comfortable in his seat again. âi canât do that,â he shakes his head, âyou saw how excited she was when we signed her up for her classes.â
you laugh. âbesides, youâve got the perfect gift for luna.â you reach over for his leg in the passenger seat, squeezing him as you smile at him. âsheâll love it.â
thatâs another thing: the custom helmet that logan had gotten made for lunaâs first race ever. your daughter initially only insisted on her own race suit, which you went and got customised together without logan on a weekend he was away for a race.
it wasnât until little luna had seen one of loganâs helmets on one of your bedroom shelves that she decided she wanted one for herself. but by that point, it never would have made it in time for her first race.
though, logan being the proud dad that he is (and luna being daddyâs little girl), he already had a custom helmet in the works with a much cuter motif. itâs pink and grey with koalas plastered all over it, thanks to oscarâs influence on the little girl during their trip to australia early last year.
âthat design was sent in months ago. what if she doesnât even like pink anymore?â
loganâs concern is valid. the little girl had taken after your indecisiveness, often changing her claims for things that are her favourite every other day. one time she had sobbed for a solid half hour after logan came home with blue raspberry flavoured candy, suddenly claiming that strawberries are actually her favourite flavour of candy.
logan looked at you hopelessly for help, but neither of you had gotten the memo that her blue raspberry obsession was short-lived. he wound up walking out the front door and coming back with a bag full of strawberry-flavoured candies, feeling like the worst dad that he had somehow let it slip his mind what her favourite candy was.
both of you struggled to finish the blue raspberry candy for weeks, having to start giving it away in the paddocks during his next race.
âiâm sure she still likes pink as much as she did yesterday,â you explain, glancing at your daughter through your rearview mirror. âlook at her â it looks like the pink panther threw up all over her.â
he looks back at her, almost bursting out in laughter at how right you are. sheâs taken the liberty to dress herself in a pink tutu with a random grey shirt, topped off with a bow that held her hair in a ponytail. âare you sure? what if she wakes up and changes her mind?â
your car comes to a slow stop, surrounded by several other cars in the parking lot of the karting track. you turn to logan and sigh as you shake your head. âyouâre overthinking this, babe. sheâll love it,â you reach over for his hand, âbecause itâs from you.â
he raises an eyebrow, staring at you with clear scepticism. being away for weeks at a time didnât make him feel like a great dad, despite the young girl always clinging to him whenever he was back in town for breaks, always rambling on about how much she missed her dad while he was gone and that she watched his race.
itâs managed to make him feel so disconnected in her life, sometimes even jealous of how much time youâve gotten to spend with luna as she grew up. he just doesnât feel like he knows a lot about her, despite him passing the random quizzes from his giggly daughter right before bed.
âare we here?â
logan flinches at the tiny face thatâs slotted herself between their seats, clutching his chest while the 2 girls burst into laughter. âyouâre sneaky! i didnât even notice you were awake!â
âthe car stopped moving!â luna shrieks, climbing between the two seats to throw herself onto logan. âand iâm excited!â
âof course, you are!â you cheer, reaching over to pat her head. âitâs your first race, isnât it?â
she turns her head to look at you with a wide smile, her familiar green eyes shining in the sun that hits your car. your genetics hadnât had a chance against loganâs â the small girl sported identical green eyes and dirty blonde hair, with dimples to complete the mission of being his clone.
âuncle ozzy will be here too, right? with aunty lily?â she scrambles to press her face against the window, hands cupped over her eyes as she scopes out for her parentsâ best friends in the crowd outside the car. âwhat about uncle alex?â
âthey promised to be here to watch your race, lu,â logan laughs, peeling her away from the window. he sits his daughter on his lap, leaning back as he enjoys their time in the cold of the car. âi actually got you a present for the race today.â
âa present! where?â
âitâs in the back, but-â
âthen letâs go!â luna squirms in her fatherâs grip, reaching forward to unlock his door. she almost falls out when she opens it, giggling when loganâs grip on her arm refrains her from hitting the ground face first.
she wiggles out of his grasp, logan tiredly looking over his shoulder at you, still sitting peacefully in the driverâs seat. you shrug as you pull down the visor and grab your makeup bag. âyou told her about your present. you know how she feels about presents.â
he opens his mouth to shoot back an explanation, but is cut short by his daughter screeching and running back up to his side of the car. âdaddy, my present!â
she reaches up for loganâs hand, forcefully pulling him out of the car. he nods, stumbling over himself as he hurriedly reaches back to release his seatbelt and lets her drag him to the trunk of your family car.
âwhat is it? is it a toy?â she beams, hopping next to logan as he scavages the several bags in the back for the black dustbag that contains her new helmet. âdid you get it while you were away?â
âitâs no longer a surprise if i tell you,â logan laughs.
âis it a toy?â
logan shrugs, reappearing with a bag in his hand. lunaâs eyes widened at the far larger gift than she had expected. she reaches up for the bag, whining when logan doesnât immediately give it to her.
âdo you want to guess what it is?â he teases, lifting it further out of her grasp.
âno!â she shrieks, now wrapping her arms and legs around her fatherâs body at an attempt to climb him to get to her promised present. âplease, daddy! my present! i wanna see it!â
âhow can daddy give you the present when youâre climbing him like a little monkey, my love?â you laugh, coming around the corner to tear her off loganâs body. âare you our little monkey baby?â
you burst into laughter watching the tiny girl screech in response, shaking her head aggressively as she tries to rebuke your accusations.
alas, logan finally gets on his knees to match her height. he holds out the bag to her, grinning when her green eyes stare into his, her body shaking in excitement. âpresent time?â
she nods, biting down on her lip. âpresent time.â
she drops to the ground when logan hands it over. she immediately grabs at the bag, tugging it off the helmet and grunts when thereâs another layer of paper packaging that shies it away from her prying hands and curious eyes.
when she does get around to it, though, itâs like time stops when she lays eyes on the large drawing of the koala on the top of the helmet. just 3 weeks ago, she had finally come to terms that she wouldnât have her own custom helmet for her first ever race ( against her best wishes). now hereâs a helmet with her name in black at the corner.
she breaks into a mind-curling scream as she jumps to her feet excitedly. she certainly doesnât notice the eyes heavily staring at your family, but you do, simply shrugging before returning your attention to luna.
âdaddy!â she screams, throwing her arms around loganâs neck, knocking him back into the ground. she doesnât even notice the soft thud when the back of his head hits the car. âitâs pink and thereâs a koala! oh, my days!â
you snort at her vocabulary, suddenly wishing that you hadnât taken george up on the free babysitting in the paddocks whenever youâre there. her vocabulary never fails to shock you, seemingly being the perfect mix of a kid growing up in the uk with a dash of american from her dadâs side of the family.
she pulls away from him, picking the helmet up from the ground and hops on over to you. âlook at it, mummy! itâs got a koala on it!â
you feign excitement and shock. logan had consulted you with the design about a month or two ago, asking you for opinions and any additional designs to satisfy his little girl. youâd even seen the helmet just this morning before getting out of bed to make breakfast for the family.
she turns back to logan, who simply grins. âyou like it?â
âi love it!â she screeches. she places the helmet over the dustbag on the ground, whirling around to throw her arms over logan again. âitâs the best present ever! i really really love it!â she throws her head back. âyouâre the best dad in the world! i love you!â
she grabs loganâs face, mushing his cheeks as she presses a sloppy kiss on his cheeks. âthank you, thank you!â
âlittle luna!â oscarâs voice makes the young girl perk up, turning around at the call of her favourite uncle.
she picks up the helmet and sprints over to the couple not too far away, stopping in their tracks when she practically throws herself into oscarâs arms with the helmet in her hands. âlook what daddy got me!â
oscar and lily immediately gawk at the girlâs amazement of her dadâs present, showing them all of the things sheâs noticed since she laid eyes on it about 5 minutes ago.
logan finally turns to you, sighing in relief. he rests his head on your shoulder and you chuckle as you wrap your arms around him and pat his back. âyouâre too hard on yourself, love,â you hum, swaying slightly as you take a quick glance at luna, now surrounded by alex and george who are also congratulating her on her first helmet. âshe sees you, you know.â
he pulls away and leans into your touch when you cup his cheek. perhaps heâs too hard on himself. but when youâre away from your daughter most of the year, youâre bound to start thinking that youâre no better than an absent parent.
âi just always feel so disconnected from you guys.â he clenches his jaw, throwing himself over your smaller frame again to hide his face in your hair. âi wish i was around more. it feels like iâm losing her with each day iâm not around.â
âshe talks about you all the time and how cool you are.â you pull away and grin slightly, caressing his cheek with your thumbs. âlook at her â entering her first karting race. she goes on and on about being just like daddy. youâre her hero.â
logan raises his eyebrow and clenches his jaw. âagain â i wouldnât say i should be her role model when it comes to racing.â
âyou canât change her mind,â you shrug, forcefully turning logan around to look at luna, now in fits of giggles as oscar helps her to try on the helmet. âyouâre always with her even when youâre not.â you rest your cheek on his arm, wrapping an arm around his and intertwining your fingers together.
âi just miss you guys so much all the time.â he throws his head back with a groan, turning back to you. âi miss you all the fucking time.â
âdonât be like that.â you tiptoe and pucker your lips, giggling sheepishly when he bends down to press his lips on yours. âluna loves watching the races and she looks forward to you coming home with trinkets and candy. she never forgets you.â
before he can answer, a hand is hitting his thigh, forcing him to pull away to look down at whatâs cut your intimate time short.
the girl looks up with her helmet on, her small hands struggling to pull up the visor. âdaddy, mummy, look.â
âoh, luna, you look so cool!â logan gushes, helping the girl lift the visor.
her cheeks are mushed in the helmet, green eyes shining through as she throws her head back with a loud giggle. âas cool as you, daddy?â
âeven cooler!â logan bends down, taking the young girl into his arms. he hoists her into the air, and then sits her on his hip before reaching for your hand. âcome on, letâs get ready for your first race, lulu.â

Oh my, thereâs far too much choice for that WIP ask game, how on earth am I supposed to choose?!?!
OF COURSE I want some FF goodness (best series ever), but Iâm not going to, and Iâll wait it out like a good girl⊠So instead Iâm going to ask for either Midwest Monster or Scream For Me (or both, if thatâs even allowed đ€đ«Ł), and if theyâre both already taken then Professor Quinn is hovering very close (extremely close) behind đ
Kittie đ
Full disclosure, I went to take a snippet of the fic and ended up reading it all and falling into a 'what next' hole.
Couldn't pick a best bit, I'm like 6k in and not near the smut yet. Its my werewolf Eddie fic, and this is the beginning...
Mid West Monster - Intro
Eddie doesn't know how he got out of the Upside Down. All he remembers are throbbing flashbacks of those weird bat creatures sinking their teeth into him and the blood bubbling in his chest. The wet feeling of his life essence as it drained through all the bites, and the tears falling from Dustin's cheeks as he stared down at him hopelessly. He knew he was going to die.Â
Darkness.
The next thing he knew, he was naked, lying on the floor of his trailer. His trailer; not that frightening, vine infested dark mirror. The place looked like a hurricane had ripped through it. The furniture was in splinters in the living room, mugs had been smashed, and hats ripped off of hooks. There were huge gashes in the very walls of the trailer itself, some so deep he could see daylight shining through them.Â
He remembered looking down at his body, expecting to see horror and mutilation, a deadly game of tic tac toe played on his torso; but instead what he saw made him gasp in shock. There was blood, yes, but it was dried and crusted, flaking away at a fingertip touch. Underneath, a few light scars were all that remained of his apparent near death encounter. They looked decades old. As he had showered the blood and grime away, he noticed his body looked different, felt different under his fingers. His physique was toned, broader and more defined. He had a six pack without even having to clench and really try. His er⊠his manhood was bigger, thicker and somehow heavier. And he was definitely hairier.
The scars had all but disappeared a couple of weeks later, same with the murder allegations. Since Vecna's defeat and Hopper's return, all the carnage had been explained away, leaving Eddie to live a normal life.Â
The only problem was, he was anything but normal.Â
His hearing was incredible, listening to conversations halfway across a noisy Summer school classroom with no difficulties. He was stronger, faster, and so aware of his surroundings sometimes it was just downright painful. Dustin had tried to get him to go to the arcade a few days ago but it was just too much input for his heightened senses and he had to high tail it out of there.Â
The biggest change of all though? His sense of smell.Â
It felt as if he'd lived his whole life breathing in a gas mask with a pillow across his face and it had suddenly been removed. They were luminous scents, filling his nose with such strength that it was almost better than seeing. The grass, flowers, the path of an unseen wild animal. And the people! Oh God, the people. Everyone was a trail of smell, an orchestra of aromas, some more distinct than others but all unique in some way.
Yesterday he could smell Uncle Wayne so strongly; a thick cloud of cigarettes, oil and metal from the plant, sandalwood, and, well, the words did not exist for all the rest. It smelled like a comforting, hazy navy blue, which he knows would only make sense to him. He'd even said 'hey' over his shoulder whilst he was sitting on the couch. The crazy thing was, Wayne had walked into their new trailer a few minutes later.Â
There was something else too. Eddie's head felt⊠full. Not of information, he only wished he could get some answers right about now, but another presence. Someone, something was there, other than him. He often wondered if he was just losing his mind, trauma coming out in weird and wacky ways, but as soon as those thoughts came he dismissed them. There was enough evidence to show that he had changed.Â
Eddie shuffles into the Summer school classroom, hunched over. He's grown at least a couple inches; that and his broader frame as well as his trademark metalhead look basically made him a moving target. For once in his life, he's trying desperately to not draw attention to himself.Â
Jock dickheads will always be jock dickheads though, even when they're retaking English classes. Some 'mouth breather', as Mike would say, a brute of a boy in a letterman jacket and a blonde buzzcut, sticks his foot out and trips him up. Eddie's new lightning reflexes stop him from crashing to the floor, grabbing the edge of the desk at the last minute.Â
He's about to just drop it, let it go, until he hears "watch your step, Freak."Â
Bite him.Â
The thought rings loud and clear in his brain. It's more than a thought though, it's a voice. It's not his, the cadence is different, voice deeper and husky, almost a growl.Â
Eddie is shaken to his core, frozen on the spot. Every hair on his body feels like it's standing on end, hackles raising. He blinks the thought away; he doesn't have hackles.Â
Standing up, he releases his hold on the desk. Four deep fingernail patterns are etched into the wood.Â
This is too much. He turns on his heel and practically jogs to the restroom to splash water in his face.Â
What the fuck was that?Â
Eddie stares in the mirror, water droplets in his bangs coalescing and mingling to drip down his nose and chin. There's stubble on his jaw even though he shaved this morning.Â
He's staring into his own eyes, seeking answers. Then it happens again.Â
We should have bit him.Â
"What the- who are you? What are you?"Â
The mysterious voice doesn't answer; but there's a growl deep in his skull. Squeezing his eyes shut, he pinches the bridge of his nose until it stops.Â
Fuck this.Â
Eddie leaves school, racing toward his van. Mrs O'Donnells class can wait.
