#yes I'm conflicted about all the plastic that goes into plush so please make sure they're well cared for

I make a fair amount of amigurumi in my spare time, and I was wonderimg if you had any fiberfill recommendations? I usually just get mine from Michaels, but are there any better quality/priced/sourced fiberfills you find work best for your projects? Thanks!
Ooh those are so neat!
After 8 years of making plush, these are my go-to fiberfills, depending on the application:
Economical (also, best for volume and squish): Poly-fil. 5 or 10 lb box, usually from Joann but I think other places carry it. This is the most-often recommended filling in the plush community. Even cheaper with coupons!
Shaping/Stiff: Mountain Mist fiberloft. I get mine at Joann online. It packs pretty stiff which is great for some applications, but can clump pretty bad if you stuff lightly and the plush gets a lot of love. I use it for heads and most legs.
Super squishy: alternative/synthetic down. Allows for the best flop, can be beat back into volume, heavy. But very expensive for the same amount. I get mine on Amazon. Some say it's similar to mochi filing, which is harder to find (Daiso). This is my favorite because it makes for floppy, heavy plush with barely any resistance to squishing.
Narrow/thin places: quilt batting. I'm not picky on this one. I usually grab it from the discount bin.
Leftover scraps, if you have any: I sometimes use fabric scraps left over from making to stuff--it helps reduce waste and makes a great dense stuffing.
I haven't tried any ecologically friendly fiberfills yet because frankly, I'm already using a ton of plastic (faux fur) to make these so it's a bit silly to stuff it with something else. But for, say, wool/cotton yarn amigurumi it would make more sense.
