Sakusa Kiyoomi: Part of the Plan
Fandom: Haikyuu!! — [ Masterlist ]
Summary: ~0.8k, fluff
• You didn’t think helping a friend would ever lead you to be in demand from elite athlete Sakusa Kiyoomi, yet here you are.
Warnings: Post time skip spoilers.
>>>>——————————>
It was a soothing walk home you'd taken that evening, enjoying the fresh fragrance of the season when a brief interaction outside your apartment building caused you tilt your head and slow you pace.
"Oh here they are now!"
Your neighbour giddily shouted, pointing in your direction as evidence to the tall man beside her who then turned around. You recognised the athlete immediately, even without his signature teams' clothing draping his toned form.
"You made this meal plan?" It was direct, straight to the point, with recognisable scribbles held out before you.
It was apart of the plan you'd tailored for Atsumu, covering various nutritional aspects to help maintain energy and physique during the upcoming volleyball season. That damn blonde must've left it lying around at practice. You’ll get him back next time you hang out together but right now you held the prickly attention of his teammate.
"Oh yeah, I thought I was missing a page." Gratefully, you accepted the parchment with a polite smile whilst Sakusa shoved his hands in his pockets and spoke observantly through his mask.
"It's detailed, you know what you're doing."
"It's nothing overly professional but it does the job."
"It does more than that, I remember you always used to help out the volleyball team in middle school." He'd offhandedly mentioned, tilting his head slightly as if reminiscing - he was right, you were a year below and had volunteered to help the sports clubs when you could but you didn't think it'd be memorable.
Let alone to someone as antisocial and incredible as him, a top 5 Ace of the nation in Itachiyama.
"You recognise me?"
"You used a Hello Kitty plaster for my graze when first aid had run out of proper ones." This was said with what you assumed to be a disgruntled look since you couldn't see beyond his mask.
"It was a proper plaster. Just with more personality." You quipped back rather proudly, the player furrowing his brows slightly and responding with a hint of bemusement (you'd hoped).
"You said something similar back then, and I still disagree."
It was a slightly palpable silence that remained after that, unsure of how to react to Sakusa as a person rather than someone you'd considered out of reach quite yet. Thus he continued with an awkward clearing of his throat.
"Anyway, I was looking for you."
"To return my meal plan?" You instantly questioned, as if trying to aid the situation but he only shook his head before elaborating.
"To ask if you'd personalise one for me."
"Don't you have professionals for that?"
As a MSBY Black Jackals player, you’d expected them to have every amenity available to them in order to maximise performance - so for him to request such expertise from you was rather perplexing.
"I'm a picky eater." It wasn't as forward as answers you'd previously received, suggesting he was a little embarrassed about this disclosure.
"You're really gonna make this easy for me if I accept, aren’t you?" You retorted sarcastically, a raised brow sent his way but he remained unphased.
"I thought you may be looking to do this as a career, become a sport nutritionist?"
"Well I hadn't really thought that far ahead..."
Sakusa studied you thoughtfully, as if you were a new concept to his world that he didn’t understand yet, but he certainly wanted to try.
"Well as I progress, people will be interested in what I'm doing unfortunately. But it'll bring business your way."
It was considerate of him (even if he was repulsed by the idea of attention) to think about how the arrangement would benefit you also, it is an aspiring nutritions dream offer after all. Yet he presented no pressure, waiting patiently even if your casual shrug and acknowledgment wasn’t a conclusive decision.
"I mean as a Division 1 player, you're quite popular already."
"Think about it. Here's my number, give me a call if you change your mind." Sakusa gave you a slip with his contact information, burying his hands deep in his pockets once more and diverted his gaze away from you. "Or even if you don't."
"Thank you Sakusa, it was nice talking to you again."
The Spiker didn't respond verbally, instead nodding softly accompanied by a wave of his hand when walking away.
Your neighbour rejoined your side from where she’d retreated to, previously leaning against the building entrance steps with a joyous skip toward you and girly squeal to match.
"Did you just get Sakusa Kiyoomis' number?!"
"Yeah. For work."
"He came looking for you, he literally asked Miya-san for your address to return your plan himself. Then MSBYs' top spiker Sakusa Kiyoomi gave you his personal number." She reiterated again, adding emphasis and dramatics to the statement as if you'd failed to realise the weight of it.
"..." You glared discreetly, your neighbour far too enthused by such a thing, which was translated through your deadpan tone. "You're too excited about this."
"I don't think you're excited enough about this."
You ran your thumb over his elegant writing as you looked at the slip once again, a gentle smile subconsciously working its way to your lips at the thought.
“Maybe you’re right…”

I'm curious because I've noticed that I always tend for side/smaller characters as my #1 favs compared to the main characters. I've seen many people who also fall in love with that character who you see in the background of that one scene (you know who you are).
This is subjective to how you view the positions of the characters but if you want here's my loose definition of each:
Main: Story centered around them, majority of screen time and development. Majority of merch features them, typically has majority of fanworks. Also can includes main antagonist(s), even if screen time is more limited.
Side: Typically seen with the main character, but not the central part of the story. Can support/hinder the main character through story progression. Usually seen in merch if it extends past the main character(s). Usually good fanwork following.
Background: Medium-low screen time and story importance. Might show up for a small part of an arc, or small periods throughout the whole show. Usually low chance to see in merch, but still may have a select few and lower fanwork following.
One scene: Self explanatory. Can include characters that don't appear enough to be a background character.
Other: Characters that are only mentioned, speculated, etc. Maybe your favorite is the author notes at the end.

pov! you're me, considering signing up as a participant in a new challenge, but as you're reading the rules and requirements you notice that they've straight up pasted in several sections of copy you wrote for a challenge you founded and have been running for the past seven years (and they didn't ask permission or provide credit!!!)
#hoooo boy this pisses me off lmao#at first i was like... am i imagining this?#but i made a point of going through it#and there's several sections where they've flat out just thesaurus'd in a new word and switched ''pinefest'' to their challenge name#and to be clear if people want to use rules from pinefest *as a template* for their own challenge rules that's totally fine by me#like i've spent seven years ironing out the kinks and it runs pretty smoothly these days#so i'm more than happy for other challenges to take inspiration from how we run things#but to lift entire sections of the rules/requirements/posting guide i wrote#only changing a couple of words and shuffling the order of a few things around but keeping large chunks of text and formatting#all without bothering to provide credit or even just ask!!!#is so damn rude!!!!!!#like for crying out loud the pinefest askbox is open my askbox is open the pinefest email is listed on our page#i've shared ''how to build your own challenge'' guides here and on twitter through the challenge account#and have publicly offered help and advice on getting started when people have asked#like i've made a point of being extremely approachable wrt this stuff!!!#because i want to help people set up challenges! having well-run challenges makes fandom better!!!#but passing off other people's hard work as your own does NOT make fandom better!!!!#and yeah writing copy for a challenge IS hard work#also i have deliberately not mentioned the name of the challenge publicly and i'm only going to mention it to my co-mod#though if the people running it see this and feel like reaching out they are welcome to do so#like legit no hard feelings if they were using our rules as a guide and somehow published our stuff in their rules by mistake#i'm just super heated about this because i've put so much work into pinefest over the years#like huge amounts of time and energy and thought dedicated to contributing to the fandom#so to have someone take a bunch of that work and pass it off as their own feels pretty damn shitty!#it's especially frustrating because other parts of their rules have clearly been written by someone who has a distinct voice of their own#like evidently they're capable of writing their own stuff so why didn't they just do the rest of the work?#wank adjacent#...but is it really wank when it's being pissed off for legitimate reasons? who's to say

Hi! I would just like to say that I love your writing and the stories that you've chosen to tell (specifically over the threshold but that SW AU too, even just from that lil snippet) the way you write is so immersive to me? I don't know how you do it and I admire you immensely for it. Everything is crafted so brilliantly, the setting, the characterization, the dialogue. There's no stutter or awkwardness in the way everything flows that takes you out of the moment.
I just really wanted to tell you that, and I look forward to reading anything you write in the future!
Hopefully that didn't come off too awkwardly, I'm very out of practice trying to make new friends. If you're interested in chatting more or even if you just need a beta reader, feel free to drop me a line! 😁
Don't think I haven't noticed that you're always there cheering me on, I'm incredibly grateful! Honestly, it's been on my mental to-do list to reach out to you, but things have been a little wild online and offline recently so I never got round to it — I'm sorry ♥️
Thank you so much for your lovely compliments, I'm blushing! I also really appreciate you dropping into my inbox to say hello, I've followed you back and I'd love to chat more — your ask got me thinking about this though!
In truth, although I feel like SUCH a dick saying this, it's been getting harder and harder to stay on top of online interactions. It used to be a little easier to build two-way relationships on here, but as my notifications get busier, I worry that I don't show enough gratitude to the people who consistently have my back. It's actually a fairly big source of anxiety for me, so I try not to let myself spiral into unhelpful thinking about it most of the time because otherwise I become paralysed by it!
For that reason, people are ALWAYS welcome to strike up a conversation with me! This is an open invitation to anyone reading to slide into my DMs or my ask box any time they want to say hello, there's absolutely no need to feel shy! I am an autistic disaster in any and all social situations, so I'm definitely not going to judge because I know how intimidating this stuff can get.
Sorry for using your ask to go off about all of that, but it seemed like a good opportunity to address it! ♥️
#we're all just floating around seeking connection with people at the end of the day#i'm so glad i decided to be brave and start interacting with people last summer because i've made real friends through this fandom#me!! a person who has struggled with friendships their entire adult life!!! and through a goddamn animanga!!!!#so yeah#don't be afraid to reach out to people online#the worst they can do is ignore you#but it's usually just because they're busy#people are generally kind and they'll probably surprise you#♥️#jjk#jujutsu kaisen#ask fushiglow

Autographs
Fandom: Ted Lasso
Pairing: Jamie Tartt x GN!Reader
Summary: You’re the social media manager for AFC Richmond’s socials. You’ve been seeing a trend of asking players for their autograph so you decided to try it out with your team.
Ted Lasso Masterlist
You hold your phone up as you peek into the locker room. All of the boys are dressed so you enter with a grin on your face. You keep a stack of papers close to your chest as you quickly head into Coach Beard's office.
"Hey, coach, training doesn't start for another thirty minutes, right?"
Beard checks his watch and nods, "Affirmative."
You nod, "Cool. I'm going to film some content for the socials then," you turn to Roy, starting with you. You press record and hold out a picture to him, "Can I get your autograph, coach?"
"Fucking hell," Roy grumbles as he sees a younger version of himself staring back at him, "Where the fuck did you find this?"
"Did some digging. Love the curls, by the way," you hold out a marker and Roy glares at you. He still scribbles out his name on the photo, handing it back to you, "There. Now fuck off."
You snicker, "Thanks a bunch!"
You exit the office and zero in on your boyfriend, Jamie. You waltz right up to him with giddiness. He smiles up at you as he finishes lacing up his boots. He stands and pecks your lips, "What's with the look, babes?"
You hold out a picture of a small Jamie posing on a pitch, "Can I have your autograph?"
His brows shoot up in surprise, "No fuckin' way. Where'd you find this?"
"I asked your mom to send me a pic of when you were little."
He chuckles, "Look at me. A sexy lil thing, aren't I?" You snort and hand him the marker. He signs his name and draws a heart, writing his initials and yours inside it. He caps the marker and hands it back to you along with the picture, "There ya go, babes."
"I'll cherish it forever."
You look down at your next photo and go up to Sam, who gives you a polite grin, "Good afternoon, Y/N!"
"Hi, Sam! Can I get your autograph?"
"Of course!" you hand him a picture of when he was a young teen and he laughs, "Oh my."
Jamie, who decided to follow you, reaches for the picture, "Aw look at you, Sammy boy!" Jamie shows all the boys Sam's picture and Sam bashfully chuckles.
"Alright, give it here, Jamie!" Sam swipes it back and signs his name. When he gives it back to you, he asks, "Where did you find this picture?"
"I scrolled through your old Facebook photos."
Sam sighs and shakes his head, "I knew I should've deleted those."
The next person you go up to is Colin. He's a small skinny thing, donning his primary school uniform, smiling widely.
Colin looks up at you in disbelief, "Did you reach out to my parents for this?"
You give a nonchalant shrug, "Maybe."
Each interaction with the boys went this way. Each one was surprised to see a picture of a younger version of them being handed to them. The surrounding players hollering and teasing each other for how they looked back then.
Jamie stood beside you the entire time, watching each interaction and just hanging around you. How could he not? He's always drawn to your presence. Not only that, he just adores how well you get along with the guys. You're sweet and funny, which makes it easy for them to say "yes" to whatever kind of video you want to film for the team's socials. You're very good at your job.
After all the photos are signed, you set them out so everyone can see. You stand back, watching the boys mess around with each other. You're already uploading the videos to your dropbox so you can edit them all together on your work computer.
Jamie wraps an arm around your waist and kisses your temple, "Must be nice getting paid to make fun of footballers," he says with a smirk.
You giggle, "So fun! Seriously so glad Keeley hired me on! Probably the most fun I've ever had in any job!"
"Also probably the best job ever since you get to hang around your hot footballer boyfriend too, yeah?" He gives you a playfully nudge.
You snort, turning to completely face him, your arms hooking behind his neck, "Oh absolutely," you lean in to kiss him but Roy steps in, pushing you two away from each other, "Get a room, you disgustingly cute little shits."
You look at each other confused, but then shrugged as Roy yelled, "Whistle! WHISTLE!" The gaggle of football players quiet and you quickly wave at Jamie. You blow a kiss at him and mouth, "I'll see you later."
He blows you a kiss back and waves, earning him a slap on the head from Roy.
"Oi! What the hell, gramps?"
"Pay attention!" Roy grumbles and turns his attention back to the rest of the players, ready to prepare them for today's training.

Soft Touches 'Nd Stuff ♡˖
Warnings; Suggestive, cursing in a/n, I still only write specifically for BSD, my friends suggested characters from other fandoms, so credit to them; @ilovechuuy4 and @yaeeko and others not on tumblr
Description; Sleepy morning affection ;3
Imagine laying in your bed with the sunrise visible through your window, dying the sky a pretty wash of pink, oranges and yellows all blended together. Your boyfriends arms are wrapped around your waist with his head burrowed in the crook of your neck and his chest rising and falling against your back. You mindlessly kept your eyes fixated on the rising sun while you waited for him to wake up, taking deep and steady breaths and basking in the peace and silence. Five minutes passed before you could feel his hand rub from your waist to your thigh and his breath on your neck, making you nearly shiver. "Mm.. goodmorning." He whispered, his voice scratchy from sleep. He momentarily rolled onto his back to stretch, kicking you while he stretched his legs and took on a starfish position. Once he felt physically refreshed, he curled right back up to you and kissed your cheek. "Goodmorning." You reply, reaching back to entangle your hand in his hair. "I had the funniest dream about you, last night.." he whispers with an audible grin, and his hands slide down your tummy to your abdomen. You let out a sigh, feeling his ticklish fingers against your skin. "Yeah? Was it really funny?" You ask, a little skeptical. He laughs under his breath and shakes his head. "Maybe not funny, but definitely fun." He leans forward to kiss along the back of your neck, his fingers hooking around the waist band of your pajama bottoms. "Can I show you what we did?" His voice sent more shivers down your spine, squirming in place and nodding. "Mhm.." you let his hands into your pants, feeling them start to touch you where others never had, and never would so long as he gets a say. His excitement was evident as you grinded your ass against his hips needily. "Perfect. When I'm done with you, you'll be glad I decided to tell you about it, sweetheart."

yard work - chapter 2 (regina george x reader)
fandom: Mean Girls (all media)
pairing: Regina George x OFC/Reader
summary: You'd been in the same class as Regina George since kindergarten. You'd lived on the same street even longer. Once upon a time, when life was sandbox disputes and who got the swing first arguments, you'd even been friends. Now, in junior year of high school, you doubted she even remembered you. The same couldn't be said about you. You definitely remembered her.
chapter 1 / chapter 3
During the school day, she'd ignore you as usual. Wandering the halls of Northshore, you'd catch glimpses of her but no more than that. It actually felt like you were seeing less of her than usual. It was hard to avoid somebody in a school like Northshore, but somehow she managed it. You doubted it had anything to do with you specifically. She'd been acting off since you'd had dinner at the Georges'.
After school, those days you went to Regina's house to do their yard work, it was as if a switch had been flipped. Gretchen and Karen weren't around. Regina had taken her mom's place on the patio and bathed in the sun as you worked.
You hated to say it was distracting. Partly because the whole thing had thrown you off kilter, like why was she doing all this all of a sudden, and also because she was hot. There was no question about it. Regina George was hot.
You desperately tried maintaining focus on the chlorine you were pouring into the pool, pretending you weren't all too aware of Regina lying not too far away from you, in a skimpy hot pink bikini, large sunglasses covering her eyes.
"Regina! Oh, that's such a cute 'suit you got, where'd you get it?" You were distantly aware of Mrs George stepping through the sliding door to the backyard. Regina muttered something in return. You didn't have to look to see Mrs George wilt at her daughter's dismissal.
It pissed you off. Regina didn't have to entertain her mom's every whim, she could be a bit much, even you could admit that, but she didn't have to be so mean.
You walked over to them with the empty chlorine bag in hand. "Hey, Mrs George." You called as you approached. "Margaritas?"
"Hi, sweetie! I brought you two some, gotta stay hydrated in this hot weather. All virgin, of course!" Mrs George winked and offered up the tray she had in her hands. You smiled gratefully and took one of the glasses. You were actually quite thirsty and Regina's mom made the best (alcohol-free) cocktails.
"Thanks," You said before taking a sip. Mm, strawberry and basil. Yummy.
"Just leave it there, mom. She's gotta work and I'm busy." Regina pointed at the little table next to the sunbeds before directing her attention back to, uh, lying in the sun. She sure looked busy.
"Okay, honey." Mrs George smiled, but the chirp in her voice was strained. "You just call and I'll be right here, alright?" She looked from her daughter to you.
"You got it, Mrs George."
Once the older woman had ducked out of the door and closed it behind her, you turned to Regina.
"You don't need to be mean, y'know." You took a sip, watching the pink slush move through the swirly straw.
"Excuse me?" Regina craned her neck in your direction, looking very uncomfortable. You walked around to the sunbed next to hers and sat down facing her.
"She just brought us margaritas." You said, continuing to sip on your drink.
"Uh, yeah, and I'm busy." She huffed before reaching for her own drink. "Why she feels the need to bother me is beyond me."
"She's your mom and wanted to do something nice." You rolled your eyes, already sick of her attitude.
Regina didn't bother responding. You adjusted on the seat so you were sitting on it the right way, legs kicked up and leaned back. You decided to relax for a few minutes. It was still the beginning of the school year, September barely just started, so summer was still lingering warm in the air.
There was a robin's nest in one of the apple trees. Red-chested birds flew around, from their home branch to the bird pool, to somewhere you couldn't see and back. Soon it'd be apple picking season. For the last two years of high school Mrs George had given you maybe more than half the apples since she didn't know what to do with so much. Before that, it used to be you and Regina. Picking apples, sitting on the branches, peeling each and every one and boiling them into jam with obscene amounts of sugar. Looking back, you were pretty sure doing all those things without proper adult supervision was like tempting a tragic accident.
(To be fair, you had fallen out of those apple trees once before. You were maybe twelve and it was the middle of summer. You'd lost your balance and toppled onto your wrist. Regina had nearly fallen herself scrambling down to get you. She'd cried more than you and you were the one with a broken bone. She insisted you pick a pink cast. She was the first to sign it, too.)
Out in the sun, it was much hotter than under the partial shade in the yard. You chugged the rest of your drink before standing back up. You pulled off your shirt as you walked to the patio stairs, leaving on just a sports bra and your shorts.
"Jean shorts are so lame," Regina said behind you. You turned to look at her and found her looking at you from over her sunglasses. Her eyes raked over your body, no doubt judging how much weight you'd gained since she last saw you without clothes.
Fuck. Not like that. That sounded wrong. You had spent a lot of time at her pool, both of you in swimsuits, as kids. A totally normal, non-sexual setting.
You shrugged, pretending her wandering eye did not make you insecure. "I like my jorts."
"Your taste is questionable." Regina scoffed, a little smile playing on her lips. "At best." She added sassily. You had a feeling she was mocking you.
"Thanks!" You struck a little pose, cocking your hip and blowing a kiss her way, responding in an equally snarky manner. You knew you didn't stand up to her fashion standards. Loose jean shorts down to a little above your knees, basic brown slides, and now sans a raggedy, well-loved Queen tee was not exactly high couture.
"You're not cute, jorts." She leaned up on her elbows and pushed the shades up to her hair. "I think I saw this exact outfit on you, like, three years ago." She pretended to think, finger on her chin. "So, when we were thirteen..."
"Yeah, you probably did." You chuckled. "You also called me jorts three years ago. So, clearly, nothing's changed, right?"
You both damn well knew a lot had changed. Still, she entertained you with a seemingly genuine smile. You smiled back before turning away to retrieve some tools from the shed. There was a gap in the fence that needed fixing.
Then, for the following week and then some, as if the past years of her ignoring you hadn't happened at all, she started speaking to you. Not at school, though, never in public. Only Kylie and Mrs George were privy to your rekindled friendship. You weren't sure if you could even call it that. Was it friendship if it was conditional to time and place?
You couldn't find it in yourself to care too much, though. You had your own crowd at school. You had things other than the Georges' yard work to do. Sometimes you went skating with the guys, picked up shifts at the shop, did chores and yard work at home, played video games, and on rare occasions studied. You had a life outside of Regina George.
So what if when you fucked up a trick and looked around all frantic, checking that Regina hadn't suddenly spawned at the skate park and seen your epic fall. So what if you spent your work hours thinking about her, counting down the minutes until you got to clean the Georges' pool again. So fucking what you wanted to beat the shit out of Regina in Mortal Kombat.
Maybe you did care. You wanted to spend more time with her. Was that a crime? If you could talk during the several hours of the day, five days a week, that the two of you went to the same school, then that want would've abated. But you had to wait. Sometimes there were several days in a row that you barely got a glimpse of her.
You sounded pathetic. Gosh. You hadn't realized how much you missed her until you got a taste of what it was like to have her back. You couldn't even remember what had caused her sudden avoidance back then. Something with Janice and a sleepover. The details had gone blurry since then. You hadn't even been at the sleepover, but you'd heard something bad had gone down. Something that caused Janis 'Imi'ike to switch schools for the remainder of middle school.
Sighing, you let your pencil fall from your hand. You fucking hated algebra. Functional math, business math, that you could deal with, but derivatives and parables and all that stuff? No. Just no.
You rolled your chair back from your desk and decided it was high time for some relaxation. You walked across the hallway to the computer room, planning on fucking around on RuneScape.
Before you could get into gaming, though, you checked AIM and noticed you had a message. From Regina. What? You click the chat open and see that it's been sent a pretty long while ago.
> can i come over? daddys home
You stared at the uncharacteristic message. You two never spent time at your house back then. It was always empty and you didn't have the same fun things Regina did. Mrs George had been a significantly better cook, to add. Your toaster oven tater tots and dino nuggies couldn't compare.
But, hey, maybe this was the start of something new.
> sure > when? whenevr is fine w me
That could've all been one message but, well, here you were. You jumped in your seat when she responded almost immediately.
> omw
Shit. You shot up from the desk chair, sending it rolling to the other side of the room. You shut down the behemoth of a machine as fast as you could, which wasn't very fast, and shot down the stairs. The living room was a mess 'cause you'd spent the last few days pigging out in front of the TV, playing videogames and eating exclusively takeout.
You spent some time in the pantry trying to look for a garbage bag, time was running out, before rushing to the crime scene that was the couch. Styrofoam containers, probably some cutlery, empty bags of Cheetos and whatnot, empty cans, all that flew into the bag. You wouldn't have time to vacuum, so you just brushed the crumbs away into the couch cushions or onto the floor.
You were almost done when the doorbell rang. You had collected all the trash, but you still had to put away some of the still good leftovers. Didn't wanna waste those since you could eat it later.
"Hi!" You exclaimed, a little too riled up to seem sensible at the door. "I was just cleaning up."
"I see that." Regina drawled, eyeing the garbage bag as well as you. You'd completely forgotten about how you looked.
"Shit, sorry," You looked down at your body and the unfortunate clothes draped over it. Blue briefs with little Spidermen printed on them and a ratty grey hoodie with a devastating stain right on your chest. Your hair probably looked just as bad. You hadn't been bothered to fix up your bedhead, it was a goddamn Sunday.
"Don't worry about me." Regina, with her hands at her hips, looked at you expectantly. "So..."
"Yeah, uh, just stay here," You turned and put your sandals on. "I'll put this to the trash and, I still gotta put some things away and then you can come inside."
Regina just stared at you. You pursed your lips together and hustled past her, down the porch steps and toward the trash cans. By the time you'd hauled the bag away, you could no longer see Regina on the porch.
"Regina! I said don't go in!" You ran after her.
"Don't be ridiculous, jorts, I'm not afraid of a mess. Gosh." You could hear her from inside, probably taking her shoes off. That'd been a thing at your house always, but you didn't expect her to remember.
"Fucking- fine, okay, just..." You huffed as you spied her saunter into your living room as if she owned the place. She slumped down onto the couch, the very same you'd slept on the previous night.
You collected the food from the coffee table and moved it to the kitchen. You gave tentative sniffs to glean if they'd gone bad already. They'd only been out in the open for like, less than a day. So it was probably fine.
"When'd you order that?" Regina's voice came from behind you unexpectedly. You turned to her, caught with your nose in some noodles.
"Uh, last night..." You wiped at your nose with your sleeve.
She walked up to the container, right up in your space, and also gave it a sniff. Then she shrugged.
"I was thinking the same," You poured the noodles into Tupperware and shoved it into the fridge.
"Why's your fridge so empty? Has your dad gone bankrupt?" Regina stepped in before you could fully close the door.
"No, Reggie, he's fine. I don't have the money to stock up like your mom."
Regina turned to look at you, a displeased pout on her lips. She'd always hated it when you called her that. "I fucking hate that stupid nickname. And what do you mean you don't have the money?"
"I mean I don't have the money?" You paused in pouring beef and broccoli into another container, turning to look at her.
"Doesn't he send you money or make someone do it for you when he's away?"
You smiled a little bitterly. "He hasn't done that since I was, like, twelve." You paused. "Well, he's always sent me money but he used to have my babysitter buy groceries when I was way young."
Regina's lips twisted like she was genuinely thinking. You continued, feeling weird now that such a weirdly vulnerable conversation had been opened: "He sends me an allowance every week for groceries and school lunch, but it's not that much. If I didn't work at yours or at the shop I'd be toast." You grinned as you put on the last lid, moving to put the last two containers into the fridge too.
Regina didn't look all that amused. She was still frowning at your fridge, the rather pathetic state of it. You could admit it was pretty bleak. Two-litre bottles of various sodas, microwave meals, and an astonishing amount of condiments were not a sight that sparked hope.
"That's weird," Regina commented. "It's like you're poor but with a nice house."
"Gee, thanks so much, Reg, that makes me feel so good and seen." You drolled. "Oh, you think I have a nice house? That's nice."
"It's alright, I guess. Mine's better." Back to her usual, unthinking and overall not-that-nice persona. This was familiar territory.
"I would know. I work there." You motioned for her to follow you to the couch. "I'm gonna pick your apples soon."
"Daddy's home now. I don't know if you can." Regina sat with her shins tucked under her, leaning her side against the back of the couch. You sat a comfortable distance away, facing her with your legs crossed.
"What did your dad do again?" You asked, trying to remember.
"I don't fucking know." She gestured with her hand. "Human trafficking?"
"I hear it's a lucrative business." You grinned, enjoying talking like this with your old friend.
"We should start a company. Who'd you think would have a good price at our school?" She looked so excited at the prospect of talking shit about your peers. It was a little adorable, but in the way that a man-eating beast was. Like a devil cougar or something like that.
"I think that's eugenics, Reg." You muttered, jokingly wincing. "That's problematic."
"What, are you gonna sue me?" She leaned forward, inclining her head cheekily. "With what money?"
"With daddy's money, you fuck!" You laughed. "What money are you gonna sue me with? Wait, let me guess, uhh... Daddy's money."
"I'll have you know, it might be mommy's money." She widened her eyes dramatically as she began to tell the story. "I did some snooping around, and it just so happens daddy might not be the breadwinner after all, because-"
As Regina got into telling you about Mrs George's strange investments, which she and Kylie both had been pretty sure were pyramid schemes, you listened keenly and watched as she spun the story. She'd always been a good storyteller, good with performing and making the room pay attention to her. It was a shame she'd started to use her powers for evil.
Sitting here, Regina George on your dirty couch in her designer clothes and all, listening as she told you about the most mundane things in her life, made you feel warm in a way you hadn't in a long time. Loneliness was a quiet thing. It snuck up on you and you hadn't even noticed.
You hoped she wouldn't duck out of your life again.
Notes: Written late at night. My eyes don't work like they used to before. Might've missed some spelling errors or weird grammar. I'll return to it after I've slept. Also, in case you haven't noticed, this is firmly set in 2004. This story takes elements from both films, 2004 and 2024, but time-wise it is 2004. Another thing, I changed up the chapter titles. Originally, the first part was the prologue but then I thought about it and it really isn't like a prologue. So, that was chapter 1 and this is chapter 2. Bye-bye, party people.
Taglist: One person asked for this lmao, but I am but a servant of the people. Comment on this post if you wanna be tagged on the next part when it comes out. Disclaimer! Chapters will not usually come out this fast.

"YOU CRYIN'?"
PAIRING -‘๑’- characters of various fandoms x fem!reader
CONTENT WARNINGS -‘๑’- dacryphilia, spanking, pussy slapping, tit slapping, rough sex, pain play, hair pulling, degradation etc
AUTHOR'S NOTE -‘๑’- who doesn't love some pretty criers? ♡ btw cock can be read as strap on!
MINORS DNI
They love to hear your pretty cries of pleasure- or pain as you write beneath them. Your body covered in goosebumps as their hand cracks down on your tits, make the soft flesh jiggle. They grin mischeviously as you whine, thrusting into you faster. Your body bouncing up with each harsh thrust of their hips, smacking against your sore thighs. Their hands dig into your hips so hard that it hurts.
"You cryin' already, pretty girl? I'm not even halfway done with you, little slut." Their laughter echoes throughout the room, almost drowned out by the loud noises of their hips smacking against your ass, the soft fat jiggling and bouncing with each hard thrust. You can't do much in this situation, their strength completely overpowering yours making you just lay there and take it. They dont care if it hurts, they know you fucking love it by the way your cute pussy gushes around their cock. Fat tears rolls down your swollen and hot cheeks as you grip the sheets, babbling out shit neither you or your partner can understand. Their name is the only coherent thought you can think at the moment as they drag their cock out of your pulsing walls with a breathy moan, running a hand through their sweat soaked hair, smirking down at your ruined state. They don't even give you a moment to breath- almost immediately thrusting back into your sloppy cunt while their hand comes down harshly against your plush ass, snickering when you jump at the sudden pain, sobbing out their name and little curses.
"So cute, aren't ya? It's pathetic how I can turn you into a crying mess just by shoving my cock into your messy little hole. Fuck- yeah clench around me just like that.."
You're almost out of it when- smack! Your lovers hand slaps your clit harshly, the delicate bud throbbing at the painful pleasure as you squeal out, trying to run from them- but they hold you in place firmly, almost laughing at your pitiful attempt at trying to escape.
"I'm going to fucking ruin you."

Then we have those who are the pretty criers. They sniffle and rub their teary eyes while you push your head impossibly deeper into their sex, sucking on it for dear life. You hum and you lick it so sensually, all while looking them straight in the eye. Your hand reaches up to twist and pull at their sensitive nipple, making them jolt and whimper. Your run your tongue up and down their sex, then moving your head to bite their thighs hard, leaving teeth marks over the delicate skin. You swear you see their eyes roll back into their skull when you dive your head back into the special spot between their shaky legs.
"Fuckfuckfuckfuck!- it's feels so- so good! keep going, please- oh-"
They get cut off when you flick your tongue up and down their sensitive spot, their head thrown back as their release spurts all over your pretty face, coating you in their glossy cum.
"No more- please! I-I'll die! You'll milk me dry- oh fuck!"

Hey so this might be weird but i just wanted to thank you? Idk im feeling nostalgic and thankful tonight so i wanted to reach out ig
I used to read your cupsandcasinos askblog, and the way you portrayed cuphead was actually my first introduction to the idea that i didnt have to like romance! Crazy, but yeah. Because of a lot of reasons this was. Very difficult for me (long story you dont care about) to accept, and i had never seen it so... casually accepted before. It probs doesnt mean much especially since its been YEARS since you drew that little quip or three about it, and it didnt really have much impact to the blog? but. It had a really big impact on ME and the way i perceive myself (through a fandom askblog of all things!!), and i just wanted to get that out there.
So yeah!! Thank you so much: for the fun fandom, the awesome art and doodles, and for opening my eyes to something that i could accept for myself years down the road
<3
If you guys had a nickel for every ask that has been sitting in my inbox with no reply for ages you guys would be billionaires-
This makes me really happy, I'm aroace myself so it felt good to write/draw that aspect of him. Thinking about it is making ME nostalgic now haha
Thank YOU as well for the kind message and for being a fan ;)

Pregnancy Dramas
—Things you faced when you were carrying their child
Fandom: Bungou Stray Dogs
Pairings: Dazai, Chuuya, Akutagawa, Fyodor, Kunikida X Fem!Reader
Genre: Fluff, Mainly Humor
Format: Drabble
Warnings: Pregnancy, Pregnancy problems, Cravings, etc
Word Count: 1.4k
↳Osamu Dazai
If anyone had told Dazai that he would eventually settle down with someone, he would have merely laughed at them; but there he was, standing next to the infirmary bed while looking at you, his beloved wife, who was carrying his baby.
You were now three months pregnant, your belly shaped into a cute bump. You both agreed to not know about the gender of your baby till it finally arrives, therefor, whenever you went to a sonography you only asked the doctor if the baby was ok and refused to gain any more information. You were feeling sick a while ago so Dazai hurried to the hospital to show you to a doctor, and now you were waiting for the result.
The doctor smiled at Dazai's worried face and put the sonography results on the desk. "You're very attentive toward your wife's health condition, but these kind of problems are common during pregnancy. I'll give you some medicine to kill the pain, though I assure you, all four of them are fine"
"Thank you so much, doc—"
You suddenly froze. Looking at your husband and catching a glimpse of his shocked face, you turned your face toward the doctor. "How... How many?"
"Ah, you're carrying triplets, right?"
Shit.
"T-there has to be some kind of mistake, sir" You were now stuttering over your words and Dazai was still silently staring at the doctor with the same expression. "I mean we didn't want to know anything about our baby until it's born but— TRIPLETS? MY FUCKING VAGINA IS GOING TO EXPLODE!"
"I'll... give you a minute..."
As the doctor left the room, you covered your mouth with your hand. "Aren't you going to say something...?"
"I... guess we'll have to ask Kunikida to be the godfather..."
"So that we raise the kids with his money?"
"Yeah"
"Well, sounds like a plan"
↳Chuuya Nakahara
"Sob* this cake is sob* delicious..."
Chuuya had always had a hard time understanding people around him since they were all a bunch of weirdos, and ever since you showed him the result of your pregnancy test, he couldn't really get you either.
"Yeah... I would have believed you if you weren't crying while eating it" He shook his head with disappointment as he reached for the cake tray, but you snatched it away and shot him a threatening look. "DON'T YOU DARE EAT MY CAKES. THEY'RE ALL MINE!"
"Ok ok, geez..."
"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?"
"Nothing! Eat your cakes!"
"Don't tell me what to do! I eat my cakes whenever I want to!"
"Do whatever you want y/n"
You shoved the rest of the cakes in your mouth, and your sobs got even louder. "I'm sob* gonna get nom nom* fat... Waaaa this is so tasty... sob*"
Chuuya thought of leaving the room, but that could make you even angrier.
"It's all your fault that I'm fat since you're the one who got me pregnant in the first place!"
"I'm not complaining baby doll, you look even prettier like this..."
"SO NOW YOU WANT ME TO BE FAT?"
"My god that's not what I fucking meant!"
During these few months, you had become overly sensitive and moody. He really was the one to blame— Chuuya did knew that; but sometimes he lost control and snapped out, like now. Though the second he saw your teary eyes, he sighed and leaned to plant a kiss on your cheek. "I'm sorry honey... What can I do to make you feel better?"
"...More cakes please?"
↳Fyodor Dostoevsky
You were lying on the couch and Fyodor was sitting on the floor with his head on your belly, wearing a soft smile that made your heart flutter. He had become extra sweet with you since the day you got pregnant, so despite all the pain and trouble you were going through, you didn't want these days to be over.
"Are you sure she's going to kick?" he held your hand gently and lightly kissed your palm.
"Positive. I mean, I kinda have the feeling... You know, motherly instinct and stuff..."
"Then I shall wait a little longer" He closed his eyes and started stroking your hand with his thumb. You couldn't help but to reach out for his cheek with your free hand to caress it, and you almost died when he leaned to your touch.
"Fedya..." "I love you too, my darling"
Then it happened.
A light kick indirectly hitting his head, announcing her presence to her daddy.
Fyodor smiled, a dazzling one that was rare and charming to the eye, and looked at your belly. "My... Our baby is a wild one. That was one aggressive kick"
"I'm sure she's just impatient" Giggling softly, you patted your belly. "She's not aggressive, she only wants to arrive soon. Our baby will be an angel"
"She will be; she takes after her mother, after all"
You closed your eyes at the feeling of his lips pressed against your forehead, thankful for your lovely family. You went through a lot to get to this moment, but you could never regret it even one bit. Not when you have Fyodor, and your soon-to-be-born baby.
↳Ryuunosuke Akutagawa
Safe and sound sleeps had always been a stranger to Akutagawa. Growing up in the slums, he had to sleep with his eyes open so that he would be ready when a threat came along; and even though he was not living in the slums anymore, he still couldn't get much of a sleep.
You wouldn't let him.
"Ryuu" You shook him lightly, watching as his nose scrunched up with annoyance. He seemed put out and he didn't even open his eyes, talking to you with a low, husky voice. "What?"
"I want fried chicken"
You observed him as his eyes shot open and stared at your serious face with disbelief. He looked kind of shocked, and you wondered if he was familiar with the term "Craving".
"Y/n it's 4am" He sounded unsure. "All of the stores have closed by now"
"I'm pregnant with a seven months old baby Ryuunosuke, I don't care if it's 4am"
"Well I'm not going out right now either" He closed his eyes again, trying to go back to sleep; but your sudden remark suddenly sobered him up.
"Fine then, I guess I'll just have to eat you instead of the chicken"
Your tone was not humorous, nor it was threatening. It was more like you were announcing your next steps if you don't get your way.
"I don't think I'm enough to satisfy you. I'm all bones, barely any flesh"
"Then I'll eat your sister. She's not as skinny as you. She's living next door, isn't she?"
Looking at you again, Akutagawa searched for a hint of humor in your eyes to confirm that you were joking; but all he saw was a dangerous gaze, shooting out of a hungry, pregnant woman's vicious eyes.
"...I'll go get my coat"
↳Doppo Kunikida
"Y/n? Where are you?"
Hearing your husbands voice, you get up and exit the bedroom to greet him at the front door of your apartment. You announced your pregnancy to him last night, making him thrilled to bits. After celebrating with you, he had started planning out the ideal schedule for the nine months ahead. He had left you hours ago to go shopping for necessary items, and now he was finally back.
"Welcome home, Anata" You pecked him on the cheek. "So? What did you buy? Lemme see them"
The blonde smiled and took your hand, dragging you inside the living room to sit on the couch. He then started taking his purchases out of the shopping bags, explaining about them with slight excitement.
"This is a medicine to help you stop vomiting, this device is baby sleep that would inform us when the baby wakes up in it's room, and these are some clothes that I bought for the baby. I tried to buy neutral clothes since we still don't know the gender of our baby"
"Oh Doppo, I think it's still too soon to buy some of these" You chuckled and took the small shirt to have a better look of it. Its small size made you feel butterflies in your stomach. You were having a baby that probably looked like your husband. You finally had a family of your own. Nothing could stop you from being happy. Nothing...
"And these are for when your body gets bigger"
You looked at the pregnancy pants in his hands. "When my body gets bigger?"
"Yes"
NOTHING CAN STOP YOU FROM BEING HAPPY.
"Your ankles are gonna swell, your breast are gonna get bigger, even your face might get a bit out of shape in the last month. Your cheeks might bloat as well too. There will also be stretch marks on your belly, and your vagina might dilate if you choose not to have a caesarean... ARE THOSE TEARS IN YOUR EYES??"

✨ISAT Sky: Cotl!AU Q&A ✨
Welcome to the Q&A! A space where I can answer related or similar question about the ISAT Sky: Cotl!AU! If you submitted your ask anonimously, then you’ll have to check the whole post if it’s answered here, if it’s not, worry not! Your asks might have been used for a future comic or just in the queue~
Anonimo ha chiesto: sometimes when im bored i just go to your profile to position your pfp to siffrin's hands so it looks like they're holding you
I feel threatened bc if Siffrin would know what I'm making them pass through with the next comic updates he would crush me insteantly with a fist.
Anonimo ha chiesto: Damn Siffrin is dying and no one will ever remember them. 😔 Oh Loo~ooop!
Loop coming to save the day even tough they aren't paid enough for this shit
Anonimo Siffrin isn't aware of the hole in the wall you can go through for those two statues without having to get pelted by rocks smh my head. (said jokingly) ((Love your comic btw!! Thank you for this AU, I love it))
THE
WHAT?
YOU CAN GO THROUGH A WALL TO GET THEM WITHOUT RUNNING FOR YOUR LIFE?????
Anonimo My reaction to this chapter of ISAT COTL CROSSOVER AU (10/9/2024) GO BBG YOU GOT THIS IN THE BAG!! OH YOU DO NOT GOT THIS IN THE BAG.. oh now you're out of the bag oh god ruh roh
Oh yeah he does NOT have this.
Anonimo pst hey hey are you gonna pose the statues, it would be funny i swear totally not more heartbreaking for siffr- WAIT HOW WOULD THEY REACT TO THE FACT YOU CAN BARELY SAVE ALL OF THE STATUES WHEN YOU REACH THE FOREVER STORM PART-
he has enough memories that he should recover a good amount of statues. It's not a matter of wheter or not he can save everyone, but mostly themself....
Anonimo ha chiesto: Hey so I cannot believe I am so late to see your ISAT and Sky AU because I love!! Both of them!! So much!! And I just wanted to thank you for making it and sharing it with us because it’s really cool! And both fandoms need more attention imo <333 @ucorpwhalingyaoi ha chiesto: I know NOTHING about cotl but my god your isat au of it has made me want to play it so bad (very /pos…) @primrosechronicles ha chiesto: HEYYYY ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE IVE SENT AN ASK!! Ive been silently reading the isat comic since my last ask and im very very proud of you for making this far!!! mwahh!!! Thank you for inspiring me to play sky again, cuz if not i wouldn't have able to meet my sky friends Anonimo ha chiesto: first of all, I came here from the shadowpeach au but your comics dragged my ass to the ISAT fandom second of all, HOW DARE YOU PLAYED WITH MY HAPPINESS LIKE THAT (love your art and story telling, I wanna eat it like a fancy dinner) @prince0fghosty ha chiesto: It's been hard for me to find Sky: Children of the Light content anywhere! I found you through a friend and not only are you interested in Sky but also Lego Monkie Kid this is truly the best day ever!!! I got back into the game because of you. I like to help moths out in Eden @phoenix-is-here ha chiesto: You are the person who introduced me to the ISAT fandom and I gotta say thank you for that. That's one of the best games I've ever played and I would have never known about it without stumbling onto your account first (because of a strong hyperfixation on a show about monkeys ofc) so.. Accept this virtual cookie and glass of milk as a gift : 🍪 Anonimo ha chiesto: I followed for the shadowpeach, stayed for Sky CotL, keep cookin
HIII!!! AND TYSM!!!!!
@elianaroselight ha chiesto: This feels a little silly, but what is ISAT? I read through your ISAT Sky AU comic and I feel like I am missing half of the story. I love what I'm seeing so far and want more, but I also don't know or completely understand who the characters are and why I should care about them (more than I do already at least). Sorry if this is silly. I just want to understand.
ISAT is short for "In Stars And Time". It's an RPG game made by @insertdisc5. ABsolutely go check it out otherwise you wont understand a thing about the characters of the AU!
when i was reading the most recent page of the In Skies and Time™️ comic I had the most hilarious image in my head of just a bunch of sky kids smacking down on the same area and making this. sky kid pileup????? [since it seems liek theyre all gonna come back like that..] it was super funny to imagine 30 CAR PILEUP 🔥🔥🔥
AWWW SKY KID MOUNTAIN!! Lol probably it would happen? Like when you do Eden just after reset and when you get reborn there's like 7 other players clipped in you rebirth animation in the aviary /home space
Anonimo ha chiesto: Awwwww Bonnie was so excited 😢
poor Bonnie they will get their comfort moment eventually
@sohrleas ha chiesto: YOU YOU'RE THE REASON WHY I got Sky 'cause I saw your isat sky au and got super curious about the game Your art is beautiful and I love it 💚💚💚
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO!!!!
Anonimo ha chiesto: HOPEFUL STEWARD WOOOOO-
IT'S MY BOY!!
@o0mochacoffee0o This isn’t related to you Bio dad AU Like my usuals- I just saw in your abut that you like CotL! Now you share two of my interests!! I’m curious to know your favorite parts of the game, if you have any ships, head canons, etc!! I always love listening to people’s opinions on things I love!
About Scotl? I don't have any specific headcanon, but I do ship Moments Guide and Reassuring Ranges. The only thing that I crave for that game is MORE LORE GODDAMN IT
Anonimo ha chiesto: When I said the fun was dying. I did not expected this. I'M SCREAMING AND PUNCHING THE BED NOOOOOOOOOOOO SIFFF
*sips coffee* welcome to hell (literally)
Anonimo ha chiesto: "is that thing a sadness?!" sweet summer child that thing is a menace of death
It absolutely is
Anonimo ha chiesto: Poor Siffrin’s gotta be absolutely TERRIFIED Big scary beast thing spotted them AND suddenly getting bathed in the color they associate with bad stuff? I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t be quaking in their boots.
He is in desperate need of comfort that wont come in like- a irl month I think
Anonimo ha chiesto: I know you won’t be doing the golden wastelands but… Once the party discovers that the groundwater has the same effect as the forest rain, Isabeau decides to bridal carry Siffrin the whole way. Leaving Siffrin a blushy mess. Also, almost if not everyone is scared shitless of the Dark Dragons/Krill (totally not projecting)
ooooohh that is soooo cute i'm dying!!!!!
Anonimo ha chiesto: THE FAKE ACT 4 LOOKING SMILE . THE ACT 5 EDEN MOMENT. THE PARTY BEING SENT BACK . DIES "oh yeah if I still have energy I can loop back" ← me when I'm lying
@starlight-and-clockwork ha chiesto: bawling and kicking and screaming and pulling my hair out THAT PANEL OF SIFFRIN ASKING HIS FAMILY TO REMEMBER HIM WILL HAUNT ME FOREVER YOU ARE SO TALENTED AND CAUSE ME MUCH PAIN THANK U<3
@aro-aces-world ha chiesto: I just caught up with ISAT sky au Fuck you /affectionate
Thank you! Be ready to be even more destroyed by the following updates!
@cherryblossomventi ha chiesto: I’m gonna go feral, Sif did that because he knows he can kinda come back from this with the shooting star thing Im guessing but the others cant/might not because they aren’t from this land,,, oh buddy why didn’t you tell them stop being cryptic idiot
Sif doesn't really remember that he can be reborn like in Sky. He knows only that, if he can reach the light right at the base of the cataclysm, then maybe he can return as well.

You Matter Most Pt. 1
Evan “Buck” Buckley X Reader
Imagine on my fandom Instagram?: No
Prompt or Request or Requested Prompt?: No
Style of Writing: Small Series
Edited: Yes
Word count: 5,677
Ko-fi
Masterlist
Warnings here
You can listen to the story be read out loud here.
Post Date & Time: August 24th 2023 at 10:41 PM
Summary: {Based off of S6 E18 Pay it Forward} When a series of freeway accidents lead to a big catastrophe, Buck must worry for his team as he rushes to help them all before it only leads to an even bigger disaster. All while working on helping his team he worries mostly for his best friend who’s unconscious for most of it.
Third Person Pov:
“May-day! May-day! Air ambulance two reporting a collapse at the 710 interchange. Firefighters down. Repeat, firefighters down!” A voice comes through Maddie’s coms, making her quickly answer the distress call.
“Air ambulance two, this is dispatch. Can you reroute to assist?” Maddie asks before pausing, waiting to get an answer.
“Negative. We have a priority spinal transfer,” the voice solemnly tells her.
“Do you have a visual on how many firefighters are down?” Maddie asks and there’s a long pause as she waits for the information.
“All of them— the entire 118. They were on the upper span when it collapsed. They all went down,” the voice tells her in a very worried tone and Maddie’s heart drops.
Her mind immediately goes to thoughts of her fiancé, brother, and sister-like friend, worried for all three. Her heart beats wildly and suddenly she can hear it in her ears as she types up details on her computer. Tears cloud her eyes for a moment and she tries to will herself not to cry just yet.
Y/n’s Pov:
I groan as my alarm goes off and roll over onto my back to look at the ceiling. It takes me a few minutes, but soon I’m reaching over to my phone and turning it off. With one last sigh, I push myself up from my bed and start to get ready for the long shift I have to work.
Once I’m ready, I grab my backpack as well as my morning hot cocoa and keys. I quickly make my way out into the hallway of the complex and lock my door. Just as I lock the bottom lock, I hear Buck’s door open and shut.
I turn to him and let out a giggle when I see the pure exhaustion on his face. He locks up his door before turning when I giggle and he smiles.
“You must have had a lousy night, E. You really look exhausted,” I say, using the nickname I’ve had for him forever with humor laced in my tone.
“Ugh, not exhaustion. More annoyance at the two idiots that won’t make up,” he replies with a roll of his eyes before we both start walking out.
“I’m sure they’ll make up soon, bubs. Just give it a little more time,” I try to reassure him and he hums, shaking his head at me.
“Sure. Then maybe I won’t have to deal with Kamron needing me 24/7. Or the smell of pickles. She keeps needing me to open them. Never did I think I’d hate pickles,” he rants with a roll of his eyes and I giggle again.
“You definitely won’t and I’m sure you’ll like pickles again soon,” I joke with him as I playfully hit my arm against his.
“Anyway, wanna carpool to work today?” he questions me, now changing the subject.
“Sure, why not. Anything to hang out with you a little more,” I joke as I bump my arm into his again and he shakes his head, chuckling.
“As if we don’t already hang out everyday,” he playfully scoffs and I shrug.
“No, we definitely don’t,” I playfully deny and he chuckles, shaking his head.
“Ok, dork. Let’s go. Bobby will kill us if we’re late. Again,” he remarks and I giggle.
“You got that right,” I agree with him as I roll my eyes while we walk out to his car.
“Breakfast on the way?” he asks and I smirk.
“You buying?” I ask him with a raised eyebrow and he groans.
“I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t,” he playfully growls out like he’s angry when I know he indeed isn’t.
“Then hell yeah. I'm hungry,” I tell him and he groans.
“Don’t be like Kameron now,” he says as he rolls his eyes and I laugh.
“What, pregnant? E, I don’t know if you know how that works, but I kinda need to have some relations before that, and you know I’m not seeing anyone right now…” I playfully tell him and he shakes his head.
“Of course I know how that works? You know I didn’t mean that. I mean, I was a sex addict, remember?” he asks and I giggle, letting my eyes go wide jokingly.
“Oh I vividly remember, Mr. Do it on the rooftop of the firehouse. Dumbass,” I joke as I smack his arm and he rubs it.
“Well, what would you have done?!” he fights back and I laugh.
“Not on the rooftop, that’s for sure,” I joke back and he rolls his eyes.
“Whatever. Let’s just get the food and get to work,” he tells me and I giggle.
“Awe, E, I’m just messing with you!” I inform him and he shakes his head.
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s go, you Gremlin,” he tells me and I giggle, smiling softly at the use of my nickname Buck had given me when we were younger before we split up to get into his Jeep.
“Okay, 118, let’s gather ‘round and settle in. We have some outstanding tasks from our last shift and I’ve got an important announcement about our upcoming weather conditions,” Bobby announces, making me and Buck, who's up on the truck, sit down with our legs hanging off the side.
“So cute, huh? Oh, wait. I promised her I’d wear it all day. Take a picture so we can…” Chimney talks with one of the other firefighters as they walk out of the locker room.
“Firefighter Han,” Bobby calls out, cutting Chim off and making him look up from the play ring on his finger.
“I was gonna save this until the end, but why not make it the first order of business? Congratulations on popping the question,” Bobby announces as he uses his clipboard to point at Howard.
“Yeah, Chim! Whoo, whoo!” I shout out as everyone else claps while I shake Buck.
“Ok… ok… a little less shaking, there,” Buck comments as he pushes me lightly, making me giggle softly.
“Didn’t she do the proposing?” I quietly whisper to Buck, who chortles and nods.
“She finally made an honest man out of him!” Ravi shouts as he grabs Chimney by the shoulder and shakes him lightly.
“All right, everybody. Let’s settle down. We still have to get to the weather update,” Bobby calls out and all the laughs die down.
“All right, apparatus maintenance. Firefighter Diaz will be running point this morning on engine service. We’ll be doing an oil change and a brake fluid change,” Bobby explains as I yawn lightly and lay my head on Buck’s shoulder.
“Tired?” Buck quietly questions me and I hum at him.
“Didn’t sleep too well last night. Tossed and turned all night. Don’t know why, just had a weird feeling,” I whisper back to him and he smiles softly before wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
“Hmm, comfy,” I mummer out as I cuddle in closer and he chuckles softly.
“Eddie?” Bobby calls out, making us all listen in. “Yeah, cap?” Eddie asks nonchalantly as he looks at his phone.
“Did Eddie finally find someone?” I quietly question Buck, who shrugs.
“He didn’t say anything to me if he did,” Buck informs me and I sigh.
“Then why’s he staring at his phone like a lovesick puppy?” I query and Buck gives a small ‘huh,’ before shrugging.
“I guess maybe he did. He’ll tell us when he’s ready,” Buck comments to me and I cross my arms.
“I wanna know now. We’re the three musketeers. Two musketeers can’t just be left in the dust by the other,” I whisper as I cross my arms, pouting and Buck chuckles.
“You and that impatient ass of yours,” Buck comments and I give him a playful smirk.
“And you like this ass of mine,” I joke with him, wiggling my eyebrows at him and he shakes his head.
“Can’t say I don’t,” he plays right back and I giggle before we both turn back to listen in.
“Apparatus maintenance,” Bobby pointedly comments as Eddie moves into a different sitting position while closing his phone.
“I’m on it, Cap,” Eddie promises and Bobby nods as Buck’s phone vibrates.
He quickly silences his phone, but it vibrates again and again. He groans quietly and presses the answer button.
“Okay. All right, now for the weather update,” Bobby starts as Buck puts the phone up to his ear.
“Uh, hey, listen, I-I can’t… I can’t talk right now. No, I can’t. Kameron, I don’t know why he’s calling you. Maybe if you answer the phone you’ll find…” Buck talks into the phone and I smirk as Bobby turns around.
Booby walks over to us on the truck and looks up at us. He gives me an irritated questioning look and I just shrug, making him look at Buck, who trails off.
“You're in trouble…” I jokingly mutter out as I try to hold in my giggles while poking his side lightly.
“Umm, I got to go,” Buck tells her and I hold back a giggle at his ‘oops’ tone before hanging the phone up.
“Uh- s-sor… sorry, Cap. Um…” Buck stutters out his apology, but Bobby just ignores him and turns back around.
“Alright, folks, listen up,” Bobby again tries to get to the point.
“Uh, Cap?” Ravi questions, holding his hand up and Bobby gives him an unamused look that tells him to go on.
“Can I just say, if Buck needs to get the pregnant lady out of his apartment,” Ravi starts and Buck hops down off the truck before turning to me to help me down real quick.
“I do have a two-bedroom that’s about to be on the market, so…” Ravi finishes as Buck and I walk towards him.
“Thank you, Ravi! Maybe a discussion for another time,” Bobby humorously chides as everyone laughs a little bit.
“118, it’s time to dial it in,” Bobby starts to try and corral us in again.
“We have a Job to do, but in order to do that job, you have to be here. I need precision, I need focus, but most of all, I need you to be present,” Bobby pointedly announces as Hen cautiously walks in and around him to take a seat.
“Sorry I’m late, Cap,” Hen quickly apologizes as she sighs.
“Okay! Let’s get cracking,” Bobby finishes before starting to walk off.
“Hey, wait. What’s the important weather update?” Chimney asks as Bobby walks past him.
“There’s a moderate marine layer,” Bobby answers, unamused as he continues to walk away.
“I’ll see you for lunch?” Buck questions and I nod in confirmation.
“Yeah. That is, if we don’t get a call before then,” I promise him with a small smile.
“Don’t jinx it,” Buck jokes, pointing at me with a chuckle.
“Ok. I’ll see you in a-” I start, but the alarm sounds and Buck groans.
“You jinxed it!” he shouts, throwing his hands up and I giggle.
“My bad…” I reply with a shrug and he shakes his head.
“Come on, dork. Let’s get into our gear,” Buck tells me with a grin.
We both rush over to our lockers and start to put our gear on before running over to the truck. Buck hops in on the left side as I hop in on the right and we get into our seats as Bobby starts to pull out of the garage. Bobby drives throughout town before coming up to the scene on the bridge. Once the engine comes to a stop, we all quickly pile out and get to work.
“Hen, Chem. Check the driver of this camper van,” Bobby orders as he points to the van.
“Buck, y/n Eddie, Ravi, I want you guys to check these surrounding vehicles for injuries. Let’s go,” Bobby commands and we all give him a nod before rushing off.
Buck, Ravi and I walk around, making sure there's no more injuries. Once we deem there are none, we walk back over to help. We stand back as Chimney and Hen communicate with the girl inside.
“Cap, second victim in the back. She didn’t have her seatbelt on when the accident happened!” Chimney shouts as he looks around the side of the van.
“Okay, these back doors are obliterated. I want you guys to pull that windshield,” Bobby commands, making Hen and Chimney nod.
I quickly rush back to the engine and pull out the windshield suction cups as Ravi grabs the pry bars. Once I have them, I rush back to the van with Ravi in tow. I hand the suction cups to Hen as Ravi gives the pry bars to Buck and Eddie. Hen quickly places the suction cups on the windshield and pulls as Buck and Eddie use the pry bars. Once it comes off, Hen quickly passes the windshield to Buck, who takes it and sets it aside.
“All right. What’s your name?” Hen asks the frightened girl softly.
“Jo,” the girl cries out her reply.
“Jo. Can-can you move?” Hen questions the girl and she looks down at her leg.
“Um, I don’t know. It’s my leg. I think it’s broken. Um, please help her!” Jo cries out again as she looks up at Hen and Chimney with tears cascading down her face.
“I'm on it, Jo, but I need to get back there, so we’re gonna pull you out. You might feel a little pain, okay?” Chimney calmly explains to her and he moves aside for Hen to get in a bit more.
“Buck, can you carry her to the ambulance?” Chimney queries and Buck nods, moving behind Hen and getting ready to grab her.
“Okay! Ahhh!” Jo agrees before screaming out in pain as they move her. She cries as they pull her out of the vehicle.
Buck quickly lifts her up and carries her over to the back of the ambulance as Chimney moves into the van. Hen quickly stands up and pushes me along with Buck.
“Go help him look her over. You have more medical training then he does. I’ll stay with Chim,” she commands me and I nod before rushing off behind Buck.
I quickly help Buck get her down on the floor so I can look over her leg. In one fast fluid motion, I pull out a tourniquet-like brace and start putting it on her leg along with Bobby’s help as they wheel a gurney over.
“Cap. We’re going to need an air ambulance. Patient is unresponsive, breathing is weak and she’s lost bladder control. Could be a spinal,” Chimney explains over the radio as we continue to work on Jo.
“Copy that,” Bobby replies as we start to prepare Jo to get her on the gurney.
“Spinal injury? Is she okay?” Jo asks me in fear and I look at her.
“We won’t know until we get her to the hospital,” I inform her as they bring the gurney closer, now ready to get her up onto it.
“Please, please don’t take me now because I need to see her,” she begs as she grips my hand and I pause as Hen walks up.
“Hey, hey. You’ll be able to before they airlift her. I promise, okay?” Buck promises her before Hen or I can say anything.
Eddie walks past us with the backboard, headed towards Chimney and we quickly move Jo onto the gurney. Jo keeps a grip on my hand and I squeeze hers before letting go.
“Don’t worry. You know the firefighter that told you you’d see her?” I ask her and she nods in understanding.
“That’s my best friend. I know when he promises something, he keeps it. You’ll see her just like he said,” I promise her softly and she gives me a small thankful smile as she seems only slightly less freaked out.
“My name's y/n. I’ll stay here till your mom’s out, okay?” I tell her and she smiles a thankful smile at me again.
“She’s not my mom. She’s my mom’s best friend. My, uhh, mom passed away three years ago. Mallory was insistent we take this trip as an honor to my mother…” Jo explains to me and I smile softly at her.
“I’m sorry to hear about your mom. You're very lucky to have Mallory. That sounds like a lovely plan. I’m sure you two can pick up when everyone is okay again,” I try to comfort her to the best of my ability and she shakes her head.
“No. I think we’ll find a different way of traveling,” Jo informs me and I nod.
“I would probably do that too. Nothing wrong with that,” I agree with her and she nods in agreement.
We wait maybe a few more minutes until we see Chimney come out first. Then Eddie pushes Mallory out and together they lift her backboard onto another gurney that was taken over to them. They then start to roll her over and I move over next to Hen so they can roll her next to Jo.
“She’s right up here,” I hear Chimney inform Mallory as they get closer.
“Okay, she’s right up here,” he repeats himself as they get closer.
“Mallory!” Jo shouts when they get closer before coming to a stop right next to her.
“I’m so sorry,” Jo apologizes as they both reach out to hold hands.
“I can’t lose you, too,” Jo continues on the verge of tears and I feel tears well up in my eyes.
“I’m not going anywhere. We still have a lot of ground to cover, okay?” Mallory asks her as she squeezes her hand.
“Next time, we’ll take the train,” Jo insists quickly as the others start to load her in the back of the ambulance as air support flies overhead.
“Air support. You are clear to land,” Bobby gives the okay through his walkie and soon the helicopter is landing.
Eddie and Chim start to walk her over to the helicopter and I let out a puff of air as my emotions take over. I take my jacket off in hopes a little air is all I need. I quickly try to sober up so I don’t start sobbing before I feel a hand on my back, making me turn to see Buck next to me.
“Hey. You doing okay? You’re getting fidgety,” he queries with a raised eyebrow and I shake my head before nodding.
“Yeah. No. I’m fine. Just had a flashback to my sister, that’s all,” I inform him and he nods solemnly at me.
“I know. She’s watching over you. You know that,” he solemnly tells me, trying to comfort me as he rubs at my back and I nod, sniffling.
“Thanks for checking on me,” I say in gratitude and I only hope Buck knows just how much I’m thankful for him.
“Always, you know that we stick together, right?” he asks me and I smile.
“Right. Stuck together like glue,” I reply to our life long promise we always tell each other and he smiles, nodding.
“Okay. I’m gonna go help Chim. We’ll talk more about this later, okay?” he questions me and I nod.
“Yeah. Go. Go. Do our job,” I agree with a soft smile and he nods before rushing off.
“Possible spinal! She’s coming over now!” I hear him yell to the air tech that gets out of the helicopter.
“Can’t get rid of me, can you, Buckley?” I hear her voice and I immediately recognize Lucy. Red hot jealousy flares up in me, but I push it away.
“Great to see you again, for real this time!” I hear Buck shout back as he stops to point at her and I huff, rolling my eyes.
He turns and walks back towards me, but only frowns as I brush him off. I walk over to Bobby just as Eddie walks up.
“Hey, Cap, think there’s a propane stove in the van. I’m gonna go check it out,” Eddie explains to him as he walks up to us.
“Good thinking, Eddie. Y/n, go with him,” Bobby commands me and I nod.
“Actually Bobby, can I have a quick moment with her?” Buck asks and Bobby shakes his head.
“I guess. One minute, then back to work. Got it?” Bobby asks and Buck nods.
“No, yeah, I promise,” Buck informs him and Bobby nods before walking off.
“Hey, what’s up. Why are you giving the cold shoulder?” Buck asks as he looks at me.
“It’s nothing, Buck, really. Go back to work,” I play it off and he sighs in frustration.
“Y/n, I thought we talked about closing up? Talk to me, you know you can,” Buck begs me and I shake my head.
“Buck. Nothing is wrong, it’s just a hard case. I told you I’d talk with you about it later,” I deflect away from what’s going on.
“No. I know—” he starts, but gets cut off as the bridge suddenly starts to shake as it cracks down the middle, making both me and Buck fall to the ground with me on top of him.
There’s more shaking and creaking as the bridge slowly starts to collapse. Buck looks up and suddenly he’s rushing to get up, pulling me with him.
“Hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey! Let’s move!” Buck yells out as the ambulance comes flying back at us and Buck quickly moves both of us out of the way just in time.
“Hey!” he continues to shout as the ambulance rushes past us, quickly crashing at an angle.
Buck quickly maneuvers, but somehow he gets pulled down with the ambulance, making me go with him. He smashes into the ambulance’s windshield and it cracks.
“Buck!” I yell out as I fly past him, but he doesn’t reply.
I let out another scream as I come to a landing on a slab of concrete, hitting my head in the process. Pain surges through my side, but I don’t notice it for long as suddenly everything goes black.
Buck’s Pov:
I groan as I come to, still laying on the windshield that’s now cracked from me smashing into it. There's a quiet, eerie, metallic creak and it takes me a moment to realize where I am. When I do, I take a moment to push myself up on all fours. I look around in fear for y/n, but there’s no sign of her, so I look into the ambulance next.
“Hen!” I yell out as I see my friend still strapped into the driver's seat of the ambulance, now unconscious.
“H-hen, can you hear—” I ask her as I bang on the window.
“118, report in. I need a headcount,” I talk into my radio, hoping to get any answers.
“I’m grabbing the ropes,” Ravi radios back first as I look around, trying to assess where everyone could be.
“I’m in the van. Pretty sure I broke a couple ribs, but this van is about to get pancaked,” Eddie groans out as he radios in and I keep looking around with no sight of y/n.
“Okay. Eddie, uh. We’re coming to you,” I inform him before taking a pause.
“Han. What is your status?” I ask into my radio before letting go to get his status.
“Han, come in,” I practically beg over the radios when he doesn’t answer.
“Han…” I question again and wait a moment.
“Han here,” Chimney finally radios in and I throw my head back in relief.
“Captain Nash, firefighter Maysen, still haven’t heard from either of you. What is your status?” I ask into the radio again, only hoping to get something but nothing comes.
“Bobby, y/n. Come in,” I repeat through the radio again, but still silence.
“I see firefighter Maysen! She’s on a slab near you, maybe twenty feet away, just covered by some rubble,” Ravi explains to me through the radio and I sigh in relief.
“Is she under it?” I question and wait for a moment.
“No. She’s just close enough to be hidden. She’s out, though, and there’s one other thing…” he voices again though the radio before trailing off.
“What? Is she okay?” I question him and he takes another pause, making me wait with bated breath.
“She’s been impaled by a piece of rebar, Buck… right though the side of her stomach. I- if we don’t get to her soon, she might bleed out,” he breaks it to me easily and I sigh, putting my head down for a moment.
“I’ll get to her as soon as I get Hen and the others out,” I inform him as I make the hard decision to wait, even though I want to rush over to her first and get her out.
“Ok… only if you're sure. You're acting captain right now,” he informs and I let out a huff before pressing the button on my radio to reply.
“Yeah, I know. So everyone’s safety is on me right now. Luckily if I can get Hen awake, she can take over. Let’s get to work,” I command before letting the button go, letting out a sigh, and looking down at Hen again.
“Hen. I’m- I’m coming to you. Just stay right there,” I tell my unconscious friend before I move off the windshield and down the side of the ambulance.
Very slowly, I make my way to the window and try to shove myself though it. The ambulance starts to tremble as I do, but I keep going.
“Hen?” I call out to her as I pause for a moment.
“Chim. Chim! Chim, you back there?” I shout out as I finally slide though the window of the ambulance.
“I’m alive, but not great,” Chimney calls out in a winded tone.
“Okay,” I pant out as I move over to Hen.
“Come on. Hey,” I voice as I try to get Hen to wake up.
“What happened?” Hen questions as she looks around, confused.
“Bridge collapsed,” I inform her and her head starts to fall back.
“Hey, hey, hey. Hen, you with me?” I question her and she squints at me.
“I’m good. Thank you,” she conveys to me as she starts to reach towards me.
“You okay?” she asks as she wipes at the side of my forehead.
“Yeah. Oh. Uh… I mean, physically, yeah,” I tell her, my emotions betraying me ever so slightly as I feel a lump form in my throat.
“Where is everybody?” she asks me as she continues to clean my face.
“R-Ravi is up top. Eddie’s in the van. Chimney’s in the back. He needs our help. I’m gonna go up top. Get the ambulance secure. Then we get you out, okay?” I explain to her before asking if she understands. She slowly nods before letting her head fall back a bit.
“Okay. Where’s Cap? Where’s Bobby? A-and y/n…” she suddenly asks as she quickly lifts her head straight.
“He’s MIA, and y/n…” I pause and take a deep breath.
“She’s currently bleeding out maybe twenty feet from us,” I inform her and she just stares at me.
“You, uhh… y-you’re sure you’re good?” I ask her one last time just to make sure.
“Yeah. I… I’m-I’m good,” she stumbles out in her shock and pain.
“Just get some rope so we can get out of here,” she commands me and I nod before starting to try climbing out.
“Okay, Ravi, I need a line,” I grunt as I call out while climbing out of the window.
I get about halfway out the window when Ravi throws the rope down to me and I slowly finish pulling myself out. I hold onto the ambulance as I grab the rope before using it to climb back to the front. Once around the front, I continue to climb up the side until I can pull myself up to the top. Ravi hands me a part of the rope and I quickly slide under the engine, tying the rope to the underside of it. I quickly rush back to the side and let out a puff of air when I see what Ravi had seen before.
The van is under the ambulance and both are close to falling. I let out another breath and close my eyes when I see y/n. She is indeed impaled and blood pools around her as she lays unconscious.
“Buck, we’ll get to her,” Ravi promises as he puts a hand on my shoulder.
“Yeah. I know. I’m not letting her go out like this. Not yet. It’s too early and there’s a lot that needs to be said,” I inform as I promise myself in my head that if we make it out, I’ll tell her how I really feel.
“And it will be said,” he agrees with a head nod before going back over to the truck.
“Please tell me you made it, Cap,” I whisper to myself as I look out over the scene again.
“Okay, Ravi. Let’s go!” I shout to him as I turn around, ready to scale the concrete.
“118, LAPD on scene at the lower level and here to assist,” Athena’s voice comes over the radio just as I hop over, ready to scale down to Hen.
“118? Captain?” she asks in a scared tone when she gets no response from her husband.
“Hen! That’s you!” I yell out to her, leaning back a bit.
“LAPD, this is Wilson. Captain Nash is unaccounted for, we also have one impaled and unconscious. I’m in command. Anything you can do to help survivors on the ground level would be appreciated, ” Hen replies over the radio as I start to quickly scale down with a harness bag.
“Copy that!” Athena quickly replies again over the radio.
Once I get down to the ambulance, I set the bag on it and I get closer to the front of it. I quickly tie the rope to the car and pull on it ever so slightly.
“Hey, Ravi, tension!” I call out to him and I wait a moment before leaning against the ambulance.
I bounce on it a couple times to see how stable it is and smile when it comes out very stable. I quickly climb back to the top of the ambulance and pull the harness bag in front of me.
“Okay. Hen, you got a harness and capture strap. Take Chimney and the patient, you send them down,” I explain to her as I throw the strap and harness in the window to her.
“I’m headed to the van. Then I’ll get y/n. I’ll see you at the bottom,” I inform her of my plan before getting off the ambulance and heading to Eddie.
It takes me a few minutes, but soon I make it to the van. I come to a stop next to it as Ravi looks over the side.
“Sending down the saw!” he shouts to me before dropping me the saw bag.
“Okay, Eddie, you in there?” I ask as I pause and listen in and he gives me a small ‘Yup’ through his groans of pain.
“Let me get these doors open. Just shield your eyes,” I inform him before I pull the saw from the bag along with the protective glasses and start to saw at the door.
I work for a few minutes at the door before soon I can start to pull at them. I pull one open and groan as I pause, taking the glasses off to look in at Eddie, who’s trapped under the fridge looking up at me.
“Hey,” I pant out as I hold onto the door.
“Any sign of Cap?” he huffs out as he struggles to breathe and I shake my head.
“How’s y/n?” he asks and I sigh.
“Currently, she’s bleeding out. I’m getting her next,” I inform him and he nods.
“Sorry about this,” I apologize as I move closer to him and grab his arms.
“Yeah. It’s gonna suck,” he comments before I pull on him.
I pull him out and he yells out in pain as I do. Soon I’m pulling him out of the van all together and he grits his teeth.
“Okay, I got you,” I comment as I pull him out and quickly we’re climbing down so he can get medical.
Once he’s down standing on his own feet, some other paramedics come over to us. They get Jo first and Hen groans as she leans over before puking.
“Hen!” Eddie yells out as we watch her double over.
“Hey,” Eddie tells me before we both rush over to Hen, who lays flat on top of the truck she’s on.
“I’m okay. I’m okay. I’m okay,” she groans, waving us off.
“I’m okay. I’m pretty sure I’m just concussed,” she explains as she sits up and moves her helmet.
“We got to get Chimney and y/n! We got to get Chimney and y/n!” she suddenly yells out as she looks back up.
“No. Hey, hey, hey. We’ll get Chimney and y/n. Let’s get you down. Come on,” we both try to stop her as she groans.
“Come on down. I promise I’ll get him and y/n,” I inform her as we all reach out for her.
“We got you. We got you. Come on. No rush,” I rant as she finally starts to try and crawl down.
“Okay. Come on. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go,” Eddie chants as he wraps her arm around his shoulder while she pants out of breath.
“Eddie, you got her, yeah?” I ask and he nods, giving me a small ‘hmm’ as they continue to walk.
“Okay. I’m going back for Chim and y/n. I’ll be back,” I promise and he nods.
Just before I turn, there’s another loud, metallic creaking noise and we all turn around. My eyes widen as the ambulance starts to shake around and the van starts to look like it’ll fall any second.

Body Swap || Part 1/2
Part 2 ||
Pairings: Wild, Four, Sky, Hyrule x Reader
Overview: A wizard's spell leaves you both in a state of confusion, especially upon realizing you're no longer in your assigned bodies. No Wind for this one, so we'll just give him a cookie and spare him the trauma for today -.-/🍪 The other boys are at my mercy, though
Zelda Masterlist 💙Fandom Masterlist
This dungeon had been going great - so great, in fact, that you were actually sad to reach the end of it. Sure, the puzzles were a pain in the butt and the miniboss was an embarrassing waste of time, but what had made it all worth it was the fact that you had gone through every trial right by Link’s side.
In a group of ten travelers, a date day with just the two of you is rare - extremely and unjustly rare - therefore you had both jumped at the chance of completing this dungeon alone together. Everything was going swimmingly, too, right down to the main boss battle. A tiny, itty bitty yet still very evil wizard is nothing compared to your combined force, so you expected it to be a piece of cake that would end in a wonderful memory to look back on later. Instead, it ended in a very different, less appreciated way.
One more hit was all it should've taken to defeat the little guy, however right as Link raised his bow for the final arrow, the wizard began swinging its wand around in a last ditch effort for success. Fearing for your partner's safety, you had rushed over with your shield, hoping to use it to block whatever spell the wizard planned, but in an unexpected twist, said spell turned into a cloud of smoke instead of a ball of energy like you expected.
As the boss made his escape, the fumes of his final spell poisoned the air and entered your lungs with an uncomfortable burn. Link and you both fell to your knees in coughing fits, suddenly feeling dizzy and woozy much to your concern...
Aside from the initial wave of nausea you felt, that wizard's spell seemed like nothing more than a harmless distraction for escape, at least that's what you would've went on thinking if not for the sight that greeted you once the smoke officially cleared.
"Oh jeez! ...Uhhh, are you alright?" Although a shock indeed, you remain calm with your first priority being to check on Wild who's still fanning away the fumes from his face.
"Yeah, I'm alrig -" He freezes almost as soon as the words are said, his eyes immediately shooting open to look down at his body - or rather your body that he's suddenly found himself in, "WHAT THE -?! HOW AM I - I'M YOU?!"
“Very observant, Wild,” You roll your eyes before looking around the room to find no sign of that wizard. Whether that’s fortunate or unfortunate might depend on your ability to reverse this little problem he’s now left you both with, “...Guess that little guy was such a sore loser he decided to play dirty then retreat. What a coward.”
Standing up, you start examining yourself for possible injuries - ones that weren't already a part of Wild's collection, that is. Thankfully you see nothing aside from a small cut above your hip from a hit he had taken earlier; an easy fix with the help of a red potion. If only the same could be said about your incredibly tangled hair that you pull a leafed branch out of with a cringe, "When was the last time you've taken a bath?"
"Rude!"
"Personal hygiene is very important. It keeps you from harboring full-on ecosystems in your hair."
"...You sound just like the Captain…" Wild mumbles under his breath while pushing himself off the ground. Once up, he wobbles and holds his arms out for balance as if he’s never stood on two legs before.
"Oh, the Captain! He’s going to have the time of his life with this one - all the boys will, I'm sure,” In Wild's opinion, your teasing smirk doesn’t quite carry the same effect as it would if on your assigned face. Instead, it looks a bit...silly to see you speaking as himself and judging on your sniffled laughter, he, too, must look equally as funny glaring back at you as you.
"Ugh. I can already hear Twilight blaming us for not being careful enough," He groans, subconsciously runs his hand over his arm which is smooth like silk rather than being rough with scars. Huh. He had forgotten how that felt...
"Yep, we're in for a heap of nagging and annoying jokes when we get back, but I say we at least have some fun with it while we can. Wanna see how long it takes anyone to notice?" You nudge his side as you pass by towards the exit of the boss chamber, your suggestion finally lifting his spirits.
"I don’t know. It could take them all night if we keep our mouths shut about it."
"No way. They'll notice as soon as I do something stupid and you don't, which should take approximately an hour at most…I mean, assuming that you’re not asked to make dinner tonight.”
“Oh, well in that case, they’ll definitely notice then. You’re a terrible cook.”
“Rude!”
You moan while rubbing your burning eyes. Even with them closed, you can still see remnants of the same flashy colors that had followed after that wizard’s stupid spell; like a firework show inside your eyelids that's so realistic you can actively smell the gunpowder.
"Don't panic," You hear someone say. You assume it must be Four since he's the only other person here, although his voice sounds different, almost like…
"Don't...? Why would I panic - AHH!" Once finally being able to see straight, you expected to find Four kneeling in front of you, but instead you just see yourself. It's as if you're looking directly into a mirror until you glance down at your hands. That's when you let out a shout, doing the exact opposite of what Four asked by instantly panicking upon realizing they aren't actually your hands, but his. Your clothes, your hair, your BODY; IT’S ALL HIM!
"I’M YOU!”
"I can see that."
"YOU’RE ME?!”
"Yes."
"...H-How are you not freaking out?" You blink at him - er, you? Whoever! You blink at who should be Four but is actually you as he simply shrugs in response to your question as if this is just another Tuesday for him!
"This isn’t really the ‘craziest’ thing that's happened to me. Maybe in the top three, but..."
You stare at him for a long minute, wanting to be angry that he's behaving so calmly right now, although he does have somewhat of a reputation for being one of the more relaxed Link's, not to mention the pair of you have seen some pretty crazy stuff during your adventures, both separate and together.
Running a hand through your hair, you take deep breathes and try your best not to be so freaked out especially once remembering this isn't technically your hair you're touching which makes you instantly stop the action, "...What do we do to fix this?"
"I...don't know."
"You 'don't know'? What, are we supposed to just live like this forever?!"
"No, of course not!" He crosses his arms uncomfortably and sighs, "We'll find a way to reverse the spell and get back to our normal bodies. We're in Legend’s world, but I think he mentioned that his Zelda knows some magic, so if we can get to the Castle, she might be able to help us."
You groan, running your hand over your face in irritation. You were having such a good day until this point! Why can't the universe allow you just one normal evening with your boyfriend, huh? Is that too much to ask for?
Four offers you a hand and helps you up. Once on your feet, you realize yet another detail about your current situation that makes you uncomfortable, "Woah. I'm not used to looking at myself from another perspective like this…or being so low to the ground.”
Four rolls his eyes at your comment before taking your hand and dragging you after him outside of the dungeon.
"Oh, come on! Doesn't it weird you out, too? Looking at yourself from my point of view while I’m in your body?"
"Of course, it’s weird,” He sighs again, using his free hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, “I'm just considering myself lucky I'm only looking at one of me."
"...One?"
"Sky? You alright?" You crawl blindly out of the smoke cloud, coughing along the way while keeping your eyes squeezed shut to prevent anything from getting in them. Although you receive no verbal reply, you can at least relax upon hearing Sky's wheezing close by.
You’re about to repeat your question, yet your voice dies within your throat. Once opening your eyes, you see yourself kneeled on the ground where you fan smoke away from your nose with a face scrunched up in irritation – except that’s not really you. It can’t be! You’re right here, so how is it that you’re suddenly able to look at yourself through a third person perspective? …Then you look down, slowly but surely putting the pieces together in your head.
"...Sky?"
Just as predicted, the 'other you' looks up in response, even giving a small hum before their eyes go wide with the same shock you undoubtedly mirror.
“(Y/n)? Is that you? You’re –“
“- You…And you’re me,” It doesn’t matter how many times you close your eyes and reopen them. Each time, you’re greeted by the same sight. Thanks to that stupid wizard, you’ve switched bodies with Sky which definitely wasn’t on your agenda for today…or any other, for that matter. Worst part? Neither of you know a thing about magic to reserve this, “…Shit…”
“M-Maybe someone else knows how to fix this?” Sky suggests hopefully, although judging on his waivered smile, even he must realize it’s a long shot. Not many Links are accustomed to magic either, and believe it or not, no one’s been in this situation yet not that they’ve ever cared to share, anyway.
“Here’s to hoping…Come on, we should at least get out of this place before that wizard comes back and switches our heads,” Sky gulps, but nods.
Standing to your feet, you brush yourself off and prepare to make your exit from this dark boss’s chamber, however you pause in place when you notice Sky following you at much slower pace, his posture rather stiff as he holds his arms slightly away from himself, “…Why are you walking like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like…” You copy his stance then give him a pointed look that makes him bow his head in embarrassment.
“I-I don’t want to touch something I’m not supposed to!”
"Awww, that’s sweet, but dude, you can relax. They're only feminine arms. They won't kill you," You roll your eyes, but can't help smiling at how careful and sweet he's trying to be. If there’s one thing to be grateful for in this situation, it’s that you got switched around with a gentleman instead of a pervert, "Just don't touch my breasts or anything and we’ll be good.”
Poor Sky whimpers uncomfortably after your comment…Yeah, hopefully this situation can be solved without leaving any lasting trauma behind...
"Mmm...Hey, are you alright?"
Hyrule's voice sound so distance despite him being so close by. You wish you could see him, but every time you try to open your eyes, you're only met with blurred colors and sparkles, "...I-I think so..."
Hyrule sighs and is about to say something else, but his relief is instead punctuated with a gasp once he looks down at his hands. He whispers your name, however his voice goes unnoticed the first time. He has to shout it a bit louder for you to actually hear him. Finally, you're able to open your eyes and see a bit more clearly - at least that's what you thought before looking over to his voice and just seeing yourself.
"What kinda spell was that? My eyes aren't working right," You start vigorously rubbing them again only for Hyrule to reach out and grab your wrists to stop you.
"They're working. At least, I-I'm pretty sure they're working. You, uh, see yourself instead of me, right?"
"Yeah."
"And I see myself instead of you."
"Okay?"
Hyrule bows his head, removing his hands from wrists to stare down at them with a wobbled frown, "I don't think it's a trick of our ours. I think that spell switched our bodies."
"...Oh...Oooh!" After his words sink in, you glance down at yourself and pick at your tunic, confirming that it feels as real as it looks.
“Alright. This might seem bad, but look on the bright side: neither of us are hurt so the others can scold us too much, right? Let’s just get back to camp and –" Hyrule’s cut off when you suddenly squeal. Startled, his head snaps back up at you, fearing that perhaps you had gotten hurt somehow, yet to his surprise, you have a bright smile on your face as you tangle your fingers in your hair – or rather his hair.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It’s just – I’ve always wondered if your hair is as soft as it looks and it definitely is!” You giggle, unable to help yourself from testing your theory personally. Hyrule's hair has always appeared to be the fluffiest out of all the Links and you've been dying to ask him if you can touch it, perhaps even braid it. Now that you technically in his body now, might as well, right? It's at least some benefit to this weird situation, “What do you use to wash it?”
"I, uh...water, I guess?"
“…”

Karlach:
Karlach had always been the type to find joy in the little things, and for her, your eyes were one of those little things she loved to play with. The way they shifted color, reflecting your emotions as clearly as a mirror reflected an image, fascinated her. It was as though you wore your heart in your gaze, every feeling laid bare in the changing hues of your irises. And to her, it was endlessly amusing — almost like a game.
You’d be sitting together in the warmth of your home, the sun setting low in the sky, casting a golden glow over everything. Karlach’s ever-present grin would widen as she leaned in close, watching your eyes with the playful, mischievous energy she always carried.
"Come on, what’s it gonna be now?" she'd tease, her deep voice full of affection. "What color can I coax out of you next?"
You’d roll your eyes, but the soft smile tugging at your lips betrayed your amusement. "Karlach, you know I can’t just change them on command."
But Karlach knew better. She knew your emotions controlled the shifting hues, and she loved that about you. It gave her an excuse to tease, to poke, to nudge you just enough to make those beautiful eyes shift from one color to the next.
"Yeah, but I love messing with you," she’d say with a wink, her fiery hand gently brushing over your cheek. "It’s like watching a storm roll in. All those beautiful colors swirling around in there."
You’d try to keep your face neutral, to keep your eyes from shifting too easily. But it was hard to stay neutral around Karlach. Her infectious energy, her passion for life, and her ability to make you feel like the center of her world—it all made your heart flutter every time.
And there it was. Bright pink, glowing like the deepest, most vivid shade of love and adoration.
Karlach’s grin grew wider, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "Ah-ha! There it is! Pink. I knew I could get that one out of you."
You couldn’t help but laugh, shaking your head. "You’re impossible, you know that?"
Karlach shrugged, leaning in to press a kiss to your forehead. Her lips were warm, like always, the heat radiating from her making you feel like you were wrapped in a living furnace of affection. "Maybe, but you love me for it," she whispered against your skin, the heat of her breath sending a shiver down your spine.
Your eyes flickered again—this time sky blue. The color of happiness.
Karlach leaned back, crossing her arms with a satisfied nod. "Sky blue. You're happy. I must be doing something right," she said with a proud smirk.
You raised an eyebrow, giving her a playful shove. "You’re enjoying this way too much."
"Of course I am!" she laughed, her voice full of joy. "I get to see exactly how I make you feel. It's like I'm reading your heart through your eyes. And right now, they’re telling me you’re all mine."
You bit your lip, trying to suppress the grin that wanted to break free. But Karlach’s eyes softened then, the playful gleam giving way to something more tender. She reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face, her touch gentle despite the ever-present warmth that radiated from her skin.
"And that pink… it gets me every time, you know?" she murmured, her voice a little softer now, more serious. "The fact that you love me—really love me, after everything. It’s the best damn feeling in the world."
Your heart swelled, the pink deepening in your eyes until it was almost blindingly bright. Karlach’s gaze softened as she watched the color change, her rough exterior melting away into something pure and raw. She pulled you close, wrapping you in her arms, her chin resting on top of your head as she held you against her chest.
"I don’t deserve you," she whispered, her voice breaking just a little.
You pulled back slightly, just enough to look up at her, your eyes meeting hers. "Don’t say that. You deserve every bit of love I give you."
Karlach smiled then, a tear slipping down her cheek despite the fire that burned within her. "There’s that pink again. You're gonna spoil me with all that love, sweetheart."
The two of you sat in comfortable silence for a while, her arms wrapped around you, her heat enveloping you completely. Your eyes would shift every now and then—sky blue for happiness, bright pink for love, maybe even silver when you were completely content. And Karlach would chuckle every time, finding a quiet joy in the way your emotions played out in such vibrant hues.
But there were other times, too—moments when Karlach loved pushing your buttons just to see the fiery red of your irritation. Like when she’d sneak up behind you, wrap her arms around your waist, and whisper something cheeky in your ear, just to get a rise out of you.
"You’re such a brat," you’d mutter, your eyes flaring red.
And Karlach would laugh, that big, hearty laugh that made your chest feel warm.
"Come on, red suits you," she’d say, spinning you around to face her.
But the red would never last. Not with Karlach. Because in the end, she knew how to bring you back to pink. A soft kiss here, a tender word there, and soon enough, your eyes would shift back to the color she loved most.
And every time, Karlach would grin, pulling you close again. "See? I told you I’d get my pink back."
And you would always let her win because, deep down, you knew you didn’t mind indulging her. You loved her too much to ever deny her that joy.

Minthara:
You stood in front of Minthara, pacing back and forth as your frustration boiled over. The camp was tense, your hands balled into fists as you tried to put your thoughts together, to confront her about the reckless, violent thing she’d done earlier. It had been unnecessary—brutal, even. The memory of it twisted in your chest.
But Minthara? She stood there, her usual confident smirk playing on her lips, arms crossed as if she were more amused than anything. The fierceness in her expression, the sharpness of her eyes, didn’t match the casual stance she had taken, as if she wasn’t even remotely worried about your anger.
"Do you realize how reckless that was?" you snapped, your voice rising slightly, trying to make her see just how serious you were. "That was unnecessary, Minthara! We didn’t have to go that far. There was no reason to…"
Your voice trailed off as Minthara tilted her head, raising a brow. She stepped closer, looking at you with a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, her eyes flickering over your face. And then, to your utter frustration, she started laughing—softly at first, but it grew as her gaze locked onto your eyes.
“Oh, darling," she cooed, her voice filled with teasing amusement. "You’re not really mad, are you? I can see it."
You blinked, feeling a sharp pang of disbelief, and then realized what she meant. Your eyes. They had shifted to pink—the unmistakable color of affection, of love. Despite everything you were feeling, despite the fury that should be coursing through you, your stupid, betraying eyes were glowing pink.
Minthara took a step closer, her fingers lightly grazing your arm.
“I can’t take your anger seriously, not when your eyes say otherwise,” she said, her voice low and teasing, her smirk widening.
That was it. The amusement, the dismissal in her tone—it snapped something in you. The pink in your eyes faded in an instant, replaced by a burning, fiery red as frustration overtook the affection you felt for her.
Your hand shot out, grabbing her by the collar of her armor, pulling her close until you were nearly nose to nose. Your eyes burned crimson, reflecting the raw anger you felt inside, your voice trembling with the effort to keep control.
“You think this is funny, Minthara?” you hissed, your grip tightening on her collar. “I am serious. This isn’t a game, not when you’re putting yourself and everyone else at risk.”
Minthara’s eyes widened slightly at the change in your tone, and the shift in your eyes didn’t go unnoticed. Her smirk faltered, her confidence shaken as she realized just how far she’d pushed you. She blinked, clearly taken aback by the sudden shift in you, the fire in your gaze making her tense.
“Oh, I see… I may have gone too far,” she muttered, her voice more careful now, no longer laced with that mocking edge. She reached up, gently placing her hand on yours, her eyes softening as she tried to pull you back, to calm the storm she had stirred in you. “Darling… I didn’t mean to upset you.”
You could hear the sincerity creeping into her voice, could see the way her expression changed as she realized she had actually crossed a line this time. Slowly, she began to lean in, her hand trailing up to your cheek as she tried to coax the red back to pink.
“Come on now,” Minthara purred, her voice softer, more soothing as she brushed her thumb across your jaw. “You know you can’t stay mad at me forever. Let’s get those pretty eyes back to the color I love.”
But you weren’t ready to forgive her just yet. You pulled back slightly, your red eyes still locked on hers, holding onto the anger that she had so carelessly dismissed before. “Minthara, you can’t keep doing this. You can’t keep pushing me, thinking I’ll just brush it off.”
She sighed softly, her smirk now completely gone, replaced by a look of genuine apology. Her hand lingered on your cheek, her touch warm and familiar.
“I know,” she whispered. “You’re right. I pushed you too far this time.”
Her fingers trailed up to your temple, brushing back a strand of hair as her lips hovered just inches from yours.
“But you know I’d never put you in danger,” she continued, her voice low, filled with a tenderness that made your chest ache. “You know I love you. And I’m sorry. Truly.”
Slowly, the red in your eyes began to fade. The anger, the frustration—it started to melt away under her touch, under the sincerity in her voice. Your grip on her collar loosened, and the crimson softened, replaced by a lighter, warmer shade. Pink, again.
Minthara noticed the shift immediately. A soft, triumphant smile crept onto her lips as she leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. “There it is. My beautiful pink.”
You sighed, feeling the last of your anger slip away as you let go of her armor.
“You can’t keep playing with my emotions like this, Minthara,” you murmured, still frustrated but no longer consumed by it.
She chuckled softly, her forehead resting against yours now. “I know. And I’ll try not to. But you can’t blame me for loving the way your eyes change… it’s like watching your heart in real time.”
You rolled your eyes, but this time, it wasn’t out of anger. “You’re impossible, you know that? You are just lucky that you are pretty.”
Minthara grinned, her confidence slowly returning. She pressed another soft kiss to your lips, lingering just long enough to send warmth coursing through you. “ I’ll do better. I promise.”
You sighed, shaking your head slightly but leaning into the kiss all the same. "
You better," you muttered against her lips, though your eyes were already a warm, glowing pink once more.

Lae'zel:
The clang of steel echoed in the sparring ground as you and Lae'zel circled each other, your blades flashing in the early morning light. This was a regular routine—intense, focused, and always a little charged. You had a casual relationship with Lae'zel, a mutual understanding that there was nothing more between you than the occasional sparring match followed by some… recreational activity. Friends with benefits, nothing serious. At least, that was the agreement.
But today felt different.
Lae'zel moved with her usual precision and strength, a fierce grin on her face as she pushed you back with her relentless attacks. You parried and dodged, but she was overwhelming—too fast, too strong. Within moments, she had you on the ground, her knee pressing into your chest as she held her sword to your throat.
"Yield!" she growled, her voice rough with triumph.
You froze beneath her, panting for breath, feeling the weight of her victory as you stared up at her. And then it happened—your eyes glowed. Not the usual colors she was used to, like the vibrant yellow when you were on high alert or the angry red when she pushed you too far. No, this time, your eyes turned a bright, unmistakable pink.
Lae'zel narrowed her eyes, tilting her head in curiosity as she sheathed her sword. She released you, though her gaze lingered on your face, studying the glowing color in your eyes with intense focus.
"A new color?" she mused, her voice more curious than concerned. "Interesting. What does this signify?"
You quickly sat up, heart pounding in your chest, trying to avoid her gaze. She must think the pink in your eyes was a reflection of embarrassment or defeat. After all, she had just bested you in a sparring match. That must be it, right?
Before you could respond, Lae'zel offered her hand to help you up. Her touch was firm, but as her yellow eyes scanned your face, you could sense her suspicion.
"I have beaten you in combat many times," she said, her voice matter-of-fact. "I have never seen this color before. It must be some form of embarrassment at your defeat, yes?"
You swallowed hard, trying to keep your voice steady, but it came out as a stutter.
"Y-yeah, probably… something like that." You tried to dismiss yourself, suddenly feeling far too vulnerable under her scrutiny.
The pink in your eyes was a dead giveaway, and if Lae'zel figured out what it really meant, everything between you would change. You couldn’t let that happen.
“I need to… go clean up,” you muttered quickly, turning away before she could see the blush creeping up your neck. You stumbled off, practically fleeing from the training grounds before Lae'zel could press further.
Lae'zel stood there, watching you go with a perplexed frown. The pink had thrown her off. She was sure it had to be some form of weakness or self-doubt—after all, she'd defeated you, and in her mind, that must have affected your pride.
But to be certain, she decided to seek confirmation. Later that day, she made her way to Gale, who was lounging by the campfire, nose deep in a book. Lae'zel approached him with her usual directness, not bothering with small talk.
"Wizard," she began, making him look up in mild surprise. "I seek clarification on something."
Gale raised a brow, closing his book and giving her his full attention. "Of course, Lae'zel. What can I help you with?"
Lae'zel crossed her arms, her eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "The one who fights alongside us, whose eyes change color… When I bested them in combat earlier, their eyes turned pink. I believe it to be a sign of embarrassment or defeat. Does this align with what you know of their… condition?"
Gale blinked, then let out a soft laugh. He clearly hadn’t expected this question.
"Ah, so you’ve noticed the color changes as well," he mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "But I’m afraid you’ve misinterpreted that particular shade, my dear Lae'zel."
Her brow furrowed in confusion. "Misinterpreted?"
Gale chuckled again, shaking his head. "Yes, the color pink doesn’t signify embarrassment or defeat. Pink, in their case, is the color of love and admiration. When their eyes glow pink, it means they’re feeling deeply affectionate or… well, rather smitten, I’d say."
Lae'zel’s expression shifted, her confusion deepening.
"Love?" She said the word like it was foreign to her, her mind piecing things together. “Smitten?”
Gale nodded, still smiling. "Indeed. It seems your victory over them stirred something more tender than simple defeat."
Lae'zel stood there for a moment, the pieces finally clicking in her mind. The pink eyes. The stuttering. The hasty retreat. It wasn’t embarrassment—it was affection. Love. And it was directed at her.
For the first time, Lae'zel found herself at a loss for words. Without another word to Gale, she turned and walked away, her mind buzzing with this new revelation.
You were in your tent later that evening, still reeling from the day's events, when Lae'zel strode in, her presence as commanding as ever. She stood before you, her expression unreadable.
“I understand now,” she said, her voice steady but with a hint of something softer beneath. “The pink in your eyes… it was not weakness or defeat. It was affection.”
You froze, staring up at her with wide eyes, your heart racing as her gaze bore into you.
"I am not blind to this revelation," she continued, stepping closer until she was standing directly in front of you. “You admire me.”
Your cheeks flushed, and you opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. Lae'zel reached out, gently taking your chin in her hand, tilting your head up to meet her gaze. “Is this true?”
There was no hiding it now. Your eyes shifted to that telltale pink again, glowing softly as you nodded. “Yes, it’s true.”
For a moment, Lae'zel’s usual hard edge softened, and she looked at you with something resembling understanding. “I see.”
She released your chin, stepping back slightly, though her eyes never left yours.
“This changes things,” she said, her voice still firm but lacking the usual harshness. "We will discuss this further… but know that I do not reject your admiration.”
You blinked in surprise, feeling the weight of her words sink in. She didn’t reject it. There was no disgust or dismissal in her tone. If anything, there was… curiosity.
Lae'zel turned to leave, pausing at the entrance of your tent. “And next time, do not hide it from me. I will not tolerate dishonesty.”
With that, she disappeared into the night, leaving you both shaken and strangely hopeful.

Shadowheart:
The campfire crackled gently in the background as Volo stood center stage, regaling the group with yet another one of his exaggerated tales. His voice, full of pomp and flair, carried across the camp as he gestured dramatically, describing a fantastical encounter with a 'ferocious dragon' that he, of course, had narrowly escaped with his life. You sat beside Shadowheart, doing your best to listen politely, but it was getting harder to maintain the façade.
Your eyes, which so often gave away your emotions, had turned a deep, unmistakable green—reflecting your growing disgust for the embellished story. Volo always had a way of stretching the truth, and while you tolerated him for his connections and the useful items he often brought to trade, you couldn't hide how much his stories irked you. It didn’t help that the dragon he described sounded more like a large, clumsy lizard than anything truly menacing.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, forcing a smile, but Shadowheart noticed the flicker of green in your eyes almost immediately. She raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by your discomfort. Leaning over, she gave you a gentle nudge with her elbow.
“Get a grip,” she whispered, smirking at the way you were struggling to maintain your composure. You flustered under her gaze, your forced smile faltering.
"I can't," you muttered under your breath, your eyes still glowing a sickly green. "If I have to sit through one more of his absurd stories, I swear he's going to notice."
Shadowheart chuckled softly, clearly entertained by your struggle.
“He probably will,” she teased. “And you know how Volo loves attention. If he spots that disgust, he’ll just make the tale even grander.” She paused, her smirk deepening as a devious thought crossed her mind.
Without warning, Shadowheart leaned in closer, her breath warm against your ear. Her hand slid onto your thigh, fingers lightly tracing patterns, sending a shock of awareness up your spine. Your eyes widened as she whispered softly, her voice sultry and teasing.
"Why don’t you focus on something else, hmm?" Her fingers pressed a little harder, drawing slow, deliberate circles on your leg. “Think about later tonight… when I have you all to myself. How I’ll undress you, bit by bit. I’ll take my time with you, savoring every second...”
Your heart skipped a beat, as Shadowheart continued with ehr salacious problems, you never thought she was a cleric of any type with a mouth like that, - it was unholy. You felt a rush of heat bloom across your face. Your eyes, which had been stubbornly green moments ago, shifted instantly to a bright, glowing pink, the color of love and affection betraying your reaction to her words.
Shadowheart noticed the change immediately, and her smirk deepened as she kissed your cheek, her lips lingering just long enough to make your blush deepen.
“That’s better,” she whispered, her voice dripping with satisfaction. “Just keep thinking about that, and you’ll make it through Volo’s little show.”
You tried to stifle a grin, feeling a mix of flustered embarrassment and undeniable warmth spreading through you. Shadowheart's hand stayed on your thigh, her touch a constant reminder of what awaited you later. Every time Volo’s voice grew too dramatic, and your patience began to waver, you’d feel the pressure of her fingers and remember her words, pulling you back from the brink of annoyance.
The bright pink glow in your eyes stayed, much to Shadowheart’s amusement. She kept glancing at you, clearly pleased with her handiwork. Volo, ever the showman, seemed oblivious to the private exchange between you and Shadowheart, though you couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else in camp had noticed the shift in your eyes.
Eventually, Volo’s tale reached its dramatic conclusion, much to your relief. The camp clapped politely, and he gave a deep bow, soaking in the attention. You, on the other hand, were just glad it was over.
As the camp began to settle down for the evening, Shadowheart gave your thigh one last squeeze before standing up. She leaned down, her lips brushing against your ear one final time.
“Meet me at my tent,” she whispered, her voice low and filled with promise. “And I’ll make sure those eyes of yours stay pink all night.”
You blushed even harder, but this time you didn’t try to hide it. As Shadowheart walked away, you found yourself smiling despite everything, eager for what was to come.

Jaheira:
The battlefield around you was a whirlwind of chaosclashing steel, magic crackling in the air, and the cries of wounded soldiers and beasts alike. But in the midst of it all, your eyes were focused on one person: Jaheira. She had taken a heavy blow, and though she fought with her usual strength and grace, you could tell she was hurt. The moment you saw her stagger, your heart clenched, and without a second thought, you sprinted toward her.
Your eyes, normally reflecting the calm or joy you felt, had shifted to a deep, dark blue, betraying the worry churning inside you. You skidded to your knees beside her, reaching out to check her wounds. Blood seeped through a cut on her side, not deep enough to be fatal, but enough to make your pulse quicken with fear.
Jaheira, ever composed even in the face of injury, looked up at you and smiled softly despite the pain.
“You worry too much,” she said, her voice tinged with both amusement and affection as she raised a hand to touch your cheek, fingers brushing the skin lightly. “Your eyes… they are remarkable. So full of life, of feeling.”
You frowned, glancing up briefly from her wound, your brow furrowed in concern.
“Jaheira, now is not the time for compliments,” you chided, your voice strained with worry. Your hands began to glow with the soft, healing light of a spell as you pressed them gently to her side. The warmth of your magic surged through her, knitting skin and muscle back together, but you couldn’t shake the tension that gripped your chest.
She let out a soft chuckle, wincing as she shifted slightly under your healing touch.
“Forgive me,” she said, her tone still teasing but laced with tenderness. “But I couldn’t resist. Your eyes tell me more than words ever could. I’ve never seen them like this—so blue, like the deep ocean.”
You huffed, your focus entirely on her wound as the magic continued to flow from your hands.
“That’s because I’m worried, Jaheira,” you said, your voice trembling ever so slightly. “You shouldn’t be pushing yourself like that. I could’ve lost you.”
Jaheira’s smile softened, and she reached up to tuck a stray lock of hair behind your ear, her eyes brimming with quiet affection.
“I’m not going anywhere,” she reassured you, her hand lingering at the side of your face as if to anchor you. “But your care… it humbles me. Few would look at me and see something worth worrying over.”
You paused, finally meeting her gaze, your hands still pressed to her side, the glow of your healing magic casting soft shadows across your faces.
“I do,” you whispered, the blue of your eyes flickering with a hint of something deeper. “I’ll always worry about you.”
Jaheira’s expression shifted from playful to something more serious, her gaze locking with yours.
“I don’t deserve such devotion,” she murmured, her fingers tracing the edge of your jawline gently. “But I am grateful for it.”
With the worst of her injuries mended, you finally exhaled a shaky breath, relief washing over you. The dark blue in your eyes began to fade, giving way to a more neutral shade as your heartbeat slowed.
“Don’t scare me like that again,” you muttered, still feeling the residual panic in your chest.
Jaheira let out a soft laugh, her eyes sparkling with affection despite the lingering pain.
“You’re far too serious for someone so beautiful,” she teased, her voice warm and soothing. “But I suppose I shall have to avoid getting injured for your sake.”
You shook your head, though a smile tugged at your lips.
“I’m serious because I care,” you said quietly, your hands now resting on her uninjured side, feeling her warmth beneath your fingertips. Jaheira’s gaze softened further as she reached up to cup your face, her thumb brushing over your cheek.
“And that’s why I adore you,” she whispered, her voice a quiet confession amidst the chaos of the battlefield.
Despite everything—the battle still raging around you, the danger that loomed—you felt your heart steady in that moment, grounded by her presence. You leaned into her touch, your eyes flickering between neutral and the faintest hint of pink, as the worry began to melt away.
“You’re impossible,” you murmured, though there was no heat behind your words, just affection.
“And yet you wouldn’t have me any other way,” Jaheira replied with a knowing smile, her voice filled with quiet confidence as she squeezed your hand.
With a final look at her to make sure she was truly okay, you helped her to her feet, your eyes back to their soft, neutral grey. But beneath it all, a faint pink glow lingered, a reflection of the deep affection you felt for her—a feeling that no amount of battle or danger could shake.

.。*♡ A/N: Hello Genshin fandom 🥺👉👈, how y'all doing? This is actually my first real time writing for this fandom but I've been reading so much sagau fics and they are all so cool that I wanted to write something too. Not really sure if I'm going to start writing for genshin but we'll see. Hopefully this is good.
"So... This is how it ends?" A last whisper leaves you as a coppery taste invades your mouth, a strangled half laugh escaping from your blood wet lips.
It was tragic. Still, a little comic how golden blood escaped from the giant wound in your stomach caused by Zhognli's spear. The whole world thought you were an impostor, someone worth killing and now time seemed to stop. The clocks hands stoping moving, the sand stopping falling inside the hourglass.
For a moment everything was static, unmoving, not even breathing.
The whole world was shaking, the winds started howling. You looked at them, eyes moving from face to face. And they had the audacity to look shocked, pale, nervous and anxious as you were dying.
The adrenaline had reached its peak, making any and all pain bearable, painless, but with an injury like that you knew what the result would be. You laughed again. After running away for so many months, being cold and hungry, and only knowing fear, you let everything you felt come out of your chest before your death.
You laughed till your eyes were blurry with tears. Tears filled with pain and hatred. You laughed till your throat was hoarse, the sound stretching till it was all but a hiss.
"Your Grace!" You heard Venti's panicked voice, smug smile wiped from his face as he had the audacity to come closer. Though he was far too coward to touch you, he fumbled anxiously. "No... How could this happen?"
Yeah, how could this happen? You thought bitterly. You were isekai'ed to this world but you were ok with it. And then the characters you used to love and cherish started hunting you.
All because of some kind of creator. You didn't even knew there was a creator in the game? There was one? You can't remember. Skipped dialogues, playing it through drowsiness, not reading the books. There was plenty of lore you could have missed.
It was too late now.
"Use your futile head once, bard." Was your reply, dry tone making him wince. "Write me a song while you're it."
"We thought..." Ei started. But a glare from you had her silent in seconds, imponent Shogun Ei trembling under your eyes.
"You thought but you didn't ask me for clarifications, you didn't let mm..." You coughed blood, a pool of golden coating your clothes and feet.
"You Grace!" Zhongli screamed, alarmed.
Your body became weak and you fell forward, your knees weakening and small tears running down your star like eyes, Zhongli held you, so delicate and with so much love. Once, you used wished for him to hold you like this, for him to cuddle you and share all this knowledge with you over tea but now it just left a sour taste on your mouth while you looked at those ambar eyes as the minutes go by.
"Please, don't leave..." A cry from Ei's wounded soul. Followed by Venti's regretful tears.
A god of freedom took the Creator's freedom, deprived them of it without using his mind like he used to do. And the goddess of eternity was sentenced a spend eternity alone, without her sister, her son, her creator...
Zhongli lips were moving, you could feel the vibration of his voice reverberating through his chest where your head rested. But the words became blurred and their meaning was lost.
The wind was swaying your hair so gently, caressing your face with its smooth invisible fingers.
In his arms, you died.

In the dark of the moon
Genre(s): Strangers to friends/crushes / 6th year / I tried to make it suspensfull Fandom(s): Harry Potter Pairing(s): Blaise Zabini x Reader Summary: While on a school assignment to an astronomy table, you and Blaise get attacked by something Warning(s): It's a bit scary? / Blaise being a dickhead at first A/n: Completing all those astronomy tables in Hogwarts Legacy was such a chore. Also!! it's so DAMN HARD TO FIND A NICE GIF OF BLAISE???? WTF [Masterlist]
When you picked astronomy as a subject, you expected to learn about stars, planets and constellations. Not trekking through the forest in the dark of the night, almost stumbling over tree roots that stick out of the ground. The worst thing of all is that Professor Sinistra paired the duo's.
Blaise walks in front of you, the tip of his wand lit as he treks up the hill where the blasted table is situated. He's quite speedy and you find it hard to keep up with his long legs.
Professor Sinistra had assigned a constellation to every astronomy table. The farther away from the castle, the more difficult they are. But higher the grade. And of course, Mister Blaise 'try-hard' Zabini signed you two up for the table the furthest away in Feltcroft. FELTCROFT.
It all wasn't that bad if Blaise wasn't such a stuck-up, holier-than-thou twat. The first thing he said to you when you got paired up was; "Don't slack off. I expect you to pull your weight in this project."
And it wouldn't be as bad if you didn't have the fattest, biggest crush on him. From the first time ever you've gotten paired with him to now, you constantly feel like you're making a fool of yourself.
The trip down there wasn't that bad. You could floo flame to the west of Hogwarts Valley until you had to walk the remainder of the way. It was around half past eleven when you finally reached the astronomy table, and you collapsed across it.
Luckily it's not cloudy otherwise the whole journey would be for nothing.
"Can you not?", asks Blaise irritated as he unpacks the supplies and puts his telescope into the holder on top of the stone table.
You give him a nervous side-eye but push yourself up to a seated position. "Who's idea was it again to walk such an abysmal distance?"
Blaise glares at you but remains silent, fine-tuning the telescope. You pull out your own gear and fiddle with it, checking the notes on where the constellation should be. After a while, you hop off the table and stand next to Blaise as he starts to look around the night sky.
By now you've realised that Blaise likes to work in silence and you're bored. It's supposed to be a group effort but the Slytherin boy does all the work without giving you a chance to contribute.
"What's your favourite colour?", you ask to break the silence.
The boy looks up from the telescope and slowly turns his head towards you. You cock your head to the side as he gives you a glare. "Why do you care?"
You can't help but roll your eyes. "I'm trying to strike up a conversation, seeing as we're stuck together until we both have found it." You motion towards the sky with your hand, making dramatic circles. "So... what's your colour?"
Raising your brows, you look at him expectantly. "Blue", he answers gruffly after a beat or two, his attention back towards the sky.
It's not much, but you're happy that he answered. Should you push your luck? Yeah, most definitely. "What shade?"
Blaise looks really done with you and the silence returns. You hear crickets and off in the distance a weird sound. You turn hastily around towards where the noise came from but see nothing. It's your imagination. Let's keep it on that. Just your imagination. Totally not something lurking in the distance.
After some more silence — and you slowly creeping closer to the Slytherin boy — it's your turn to find the constellation. But it's a lot harder than you expected. You search from left to right and zoom in and back, but you can't seem to catch a glimpse of the right stars.
The boy behind you sighs in exasperation. He lets you fumble around some more before he pushes you to the side and positions the telescope right. "There. Now look."
You feel the heat travel up to your cheeks as you lean back in. You can't help but make a small noise of frustration when you still can't find it. "I'm sorry, Blaise", you say with knitted brows, looking up at him with guilty eyes, "I'm afraid I'm no good partner after all..."
In the warm light of the torches, it almost seems like the harshness of his face relaxes a bit. "Here... If you just..." He motions for you to lean in towards the telescope and you do so.
Blaise moves close to you and with hesitant hands moves your head so you're positioned right and finally you see the constalation. "I see it! I see it! Is that Cassiopeia or-"
You excitedly turn your head to the side and your nose just barely mises Blaise's. Two pairs of wide eyes meet each other and you quickly look back through the peephole. From the corner of your eyes, you see him quickly take a step back and adjust the collar of his sweater.
"It's Lacerta", you whisper quietly, jotting it down on a piece of parchment with a quick sketch next to it.
Nothing more is said as the two of you pack up your things and slowly make your way downwards the slippery hill and onto the road back to school.
As you pass through a particular thick bit of forest, a shiver runs up your spine and you clutch the straps of your backpack tighter. "Blaise", you whisper, "I've got a weird feeling like we're being watched."
His eyes dart around and he slows in his steps so he's closer to you, his wand at the ready. He hums, a hand reaching out and pulling you behind him.
Suddenly, a howling way too close for your liking is heard behind you and a pair of glowing eyes reflect in the moonlight.
Taking slow steps back, Blaise grabs your hand and pulls you along with him as he breaks out in a sprint.
You can hardly keep up with his long legs. Stumbling over tree branches sticking out of the ground and whatnot, Blaise never lets go of your hand. Until you step into an unseen hole and a sickening crunch is heard followed by immense pain. You cry out and reach for your leg, seeing your shin bend at an odd angle.
You half expect Blaise to leave you behind. But instead, he whisks around and with an elegant flick of his wand, sends the wolf — who was closing onto you dangerously quick — crashing into a tree with a red flash and knocking it out cold.
A second one from behind you grows and starts to sprint towards the two of you. This was an ambush. Of course, wolves always hunt in packs.
In all your pain, you find a small amount of adrenaline to crawl away and kick the wolf in its face. Teeth manage to take hold of your ankle and it drags you away. It shakes you, making you wail in pain.
Blaise hears your cry and his heart drops. Frantic eyes meet his own and he doesn't hesitate for a moment. With full force, he runs towards the wolf and throws his weight against the animal.
The wolf lets go of you as its focus is entirely on Blaise. Teeth snarles, and it licks his lips. Blaise mirrors the wolf and bares his teeth, a low growl coming from deep within his chest.
Your arms buckle because of the pain just in time for Blaise to send an electrifying shock through the air, rendering the other one unconscious.
He rushes towards you, dropping to his knees and you can just see wild eyes scanning your entire body and his lips moving to yell something. Your head lulls to the side and through the thick of the trees, the last thing you see is the moon disappearing behind clouds.
When you come through, you are lying in a hospital cot. The sterile smell of the Hospital Wing itches your nose and you sneeze. A call of your name makes you turn your head towards the side where Blaise raises his head from his arms, a worried look on his face.
A groan escapes your lips as you try to sit up. A dull ache in your leg makes you turn back the covers and watch how your toes wiggle effortlessly and the almost perfectly healed shin — safe for a red line where the break was — makes you raise your eyebrows.
"Wha-what happened? How did we get back?" You turn towards Blaise, who looks, for lack of better words, almost guilty.
"I... I carried you towards Feldcrofd and asked someone to apparate us as close as possible to the school. How are you feeling?" He lays an instinctive hand upon yours and you swallow, the cold of him seeping into your burning skin.
"Fine... I think. And you?"
Blaise hums and the two of you sit in silence next to each other. Happy that you've survived it.
"Do you-"
"Thank you-"
The two of you speak at the same time and can't help but laugh. He motions for you to speak first.
"Thank you, Blaise. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be alive right now."
"If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here right now." His face hardens and he looks away.
You can't help yourself but reach out and grab his hand, watching how he stiffens before looking back at you. You want to pull away but he takes a firm hold of your hand, pulling it closer to himself. Surprising a smile, you look up at him and have to bite your lip as a red hue tints his cheeks.
He mumbles something which you don't get. You cock your head to the side and ask him to repeat himself.
"Gooutwithme", he blurts out, still not looking at you.
This time you can't help to giggle, which makes Blaise turn his head towards you. At first, there is a look of betrail on his face. But as soon as he catches your bashful look, he softens.
"I would love to", you smile, squeezing his hand.
A wide and radiant smile forms on his lips — a rare sight — before he coughs and tries to conceal it. "Great... Great."
The two of you keep sitting like that in silence, smiling and grinning at each other, before Madam Pomfrey ushers Blaise out of the Hospital Wing under the excuse of you needing your rest.
Before Blaise disappears through the exit, he looks one last time at you and gives you a wave. You return it and can't keep the smile on your face.
Gods. You can't wait for your date. As long as it's not in the forest.
