Ornstein prefers to sleep naked, swim naked and just overall stay naked during his free time.
Wearing heavy armor so often makes him eager to let go of all clothing, whenever possible.
Besides, and despite his more stoic attitude, he is not a prude at all, nor self-conscious about his body --- save for some lingering scars.
Rather, he acts in a way that is proper for someone of his high standing... another sacrifice among many.

@darkmoondelusion:
I'd cry from cute if he acted silly to make bappy Gwyndolin laugh...
LISTEN.
Does Ornstein know a single thing about children? No. Furthermore, he's got almost zero socialization on the more traditional dynamics of a family, so to speak.
Does that mean he wouldn’t (at some point) get tasked with “guarding” Gwyndolin? (aka an incredibly glorified babysitting duty) I mean... why not? Ornstein is so painfully responsible and capable that one might be like; yeah this guy will manage somehow --- as he always does. /SHRUG
Now, would he freak out at the mere idea of holding a baby and doing it WRONG? OF COURSE.
Can he just say no to Gwyn and co.? PPPPPPPPPPPPFFF nah.
Cue the one and only grumpiest Dragon Slayer going about his day; briefing soldiers, lecturing people, just being generally mean, etc. But with this tiny baby in one arm.
And yeah... he’d make silly faces and all, especially if Gwyndolin started crying. He’d also produce sparks of light to entertain them.
Yet first and foremost, Ornstein would unironically address Gwyndolin in a formal way. No baby talk nonsense, whatsoever. Just the proper use of royal titles and religious ceremony. He is not an heretic brute, after all. (LOL)

After writing this guy for a year, the true character development I have to offer is this:
Ornstein is actually extremely kind, soft hearted and just about the most caring person you'll ever meet. But he keeps all those qualities buried deep down. LIKE VERY DEEP DOWN. He wears ruthless stoicism like a second armor and channels his own selfless dedication through duty.
So - does this mean he isn't one hell of a shady mf and responsible for doing some really bad things? That he's just misunderstood?
Absolutely NOT.
He always had agency over his own actions.
Then when he finally changes his mind, it's not a gratuitous, quick or easy thing. Not a dramatic 'what have I done moment' of self-pity/loathing and instant change. Rather, he starts an excruciatingly slow process of questioning his own decisions and the damage he's has done to others... and himself.
And yes - he's always responsible for his actions, even when he finally lets go of the past.

I just saw a random post on the dash and had the awful thought that if Ornstein ever got someone pregnant, he would definitely claim the child for himself... regardless of what the other parent wanted.
Then, he'd take the child to Anor Londo's castle and raise them there, with the help of specialized servants.
Realistically, he'd struggle with parenthood --- given his lack of skills and knowledge, as he never had much familial socialization. Provided, he'd try his best and probably learn fast enough.
Nothing could be said about his love and dedication, though.
Also no hiding he's the child's father or anything, but quite the contrary.
And I'm convinced Gwyn would be like: Oh you have a kid? Good! Always thought your oath was silly anyway. Hah.

I've mentioned it before, but Ornstein's fondness for gardens is not really an aesthetic thing.
As a child he dreamed of green places, trees and flowers, which were very rare in the barren lands where he grew up. His garden is a connection to that elusive and cherished nature... the one he can afford to have in the city.

Things I need to write about:
Ornstein's patronage of the arts in Anor Londo --- cause ofc he would.
Supporting orphanages for children whose parents died during the war against the dragons. Plus how assimilating the souls of fallen fellow soldiers (as it was his sacred duty with the dead) ended up creating a particular sense of responsibility in him.
Also how these efforts of his were never really public, but more of a private thing.

Thinking about that previous post, Ornstein isn’t one to punch people in the face when facing blatant disrespect ---
He’d rather grab their hand and proceed to break every finger, one by one, until/while they apologize.

As a general rule, Bloodborne verse Ornstein is far ‘nicer’ than his Dark Souls self ---- however inhuman, strange and often incapable of empathizing with and/or understanding people.
So, yes, he wouldn’t mind. Actually, he might find it an interesting experience.
Big biohazard danger, though.

Now that I think about it (or re-think lol) the other alternative for Ornstein to survive the fading of the Flame is the Usurpation ending.
Basically, the Flame still exists, as it is usurped by the Lord of Hollows, which causes it to become attuned with the Dark Soul (aspect) of the original (whole) Fire.
Perfect excuse for Abyss corrupted Ornstein to be all 'I guess I'll just die... NOT' since he's a creature kept alive by a fragment of Gwyn's soul, while coexisting in a precarious symbiosis with the Dark. The two powers in him would stop struggling and just merge.
Does that mean he'd start caring for Londor or believing in the Sable Church? Pfff, no. But it is certainly convenient. Although, he wouldn't know that unless he was informed of the plan's specifics and what it'll cause.
Also he could turn into quite the abomination, but in control of himself.

Ornstein's glow up was just insane.
He went from skinny, rather short and actually underdeveloped teenager (undernourished as a child) to this tall and muscular adult --- a powerful warrior.
Good food, unrelenting training and intense (mis)use of the Flame's power did the trick.
His face was always pretty, though.

Funny how Ornstein on his half-primordial verse has two possible paths of development:
Become a neutral force that might occasionally aid humans, if he deems it right.
Go full TIME TO EXTERMINATE #ALL HUMANS and free this world from their irredeemably harmful existence.
None of them is the divergent one... it just depends on the plot.  A perfectly balanced 50/50 chance.

Many things make Ornstein's lion imagery significant. A key aspect is that lions always live in groups, with adult males being fiercely protective of their pride and territory.
And that's Ornstein in Anor Londo; the fiercest protector of the city and its people.
I hc Gwyn seldom sent him forward to deal with other kingdoms' affairs, that is, only when the situation was bad enough to require Ornstein's devastating efficiency and strength.
He was kept in Anor Londo to ensure the city's safety --- and, yes, Gwyn did feel a certain personal attachment to him. Ornstein was his most reliable Knight and, perhaps, a (barely) good-enough replacement for his own treacherous son.
As expected, Ornstein stayed in Anor Londo even after the gods left, thus continuing his guarding duty.
Then, parting with the role of protector was dreadfully hard, but in the end Ornstein realized he was more than just that. Besides, his pride no longer existed.
