I was SO READY to go to the art party with little Xyxxy here in her witchy dress up, but then I came down with a migraine and slept in and missed it. 😭 I guess I'll just stalk Tumblr for pictures of other people's characters to draw and do a little art party of my own. 💕

Ferryn, a shy but curious sylvari with an air of sadness about her, asks for a reading to help her determine her place in the world (and if you want a reading back for one of your characters, ask @grasping-earth I'd be happy to!)

Barely has Xyxxy finished repeating the question when a card jumps out of the deck to land face-up on her skirt. Xyxxy smiles and intuitively pulls a second card.

"The Lovers," she begins, "represent passion, harmony, and deep commitment. They're about making decisions for your long-term emotional well-being, whether that's a relationship, a career, or a hobby. There's a saying I heard a while back... 'Do what you love and the rest will follow.' So maybe, try listening to your heart and don't be afraid to follow where it leads.

"The Knight of Pentacles is a man of action, who takes his role as protector very seriously. But sometimes, he is a little over-cautious, studying his every option before making a decision, which can be a good thing, or it can hold you back. Reading them together, I think The Lovers and the Knight are suggesting you let your heart decide your right path and follow it to the next natural thing. You don't have to weigh every possibility before deciding what to do in life, and you don't have to be afraid of choosing wrong because... Well, if you're doing what you love, how can that be wrong? Your place in life is not pre-determined, not even by the Dream. Home is where your heart is. So find where your heart wants to be." Xyxxy smiles and shrugs a little self-consciously. "I hope that helps a little."

A sylvari with deep red foliage and a distinctly Asuran-tech right arm approaches, if somewhat hesitantly. His reed-like tail swishes behind him, betraying his nerves.

Myrrvren gives Xyxxy a look over, muttering something about being convinced to do this under his breath, before addressing her. “I’m here for a tarot reading,” he starts, rather flatly, “Wasn’t my idea to do it, it was my Dearheart’s and — that’s not the point. Uh.”

He takes a deep breath and starts again, “Look. I’ve done a lot things I regret. A lot of things I can’t take back or really ever make up for.” He looks away, briefly, “And I’m afraid that I’ll never be able to move past those things, and I’ll never deserve the love that the people around me give me despite all I’ve done. I’m terrified that someday they will realize that I don’t deserve it, and they’ll… leave me, I guess. Abandon me.”

Myrr falls silent for a time, tail twitching anxiously, before finally addressing the Asura before him again. “I know that’s a lot, and I don’t know if you can even help… But I guess if your cards have any kind of guidance for me, I’ll take it.”

Xyxxy reaches over as though to pat Myrr's hand, pauses, and pulls back uncertainly. She shuffles the cards, thinking over his words. She draws 2 cards and chews her bottom lip.

"Your caution is doing a good job of keeping you safe," Xyxxy says, "but how long can you isolate yourself from others before you begin to lose yourself. We are all social creatures, Sylvari especially. If you embrace your caution, it will hold you back from the connections you need, and you will lose them and then yourself. To solve this..." She picks up a third card, revealing the ever-wise Hierophant. "What exactly do you believe that love is?

"If love were about 'who deserves what', why would we have so many people giving gifts to orphans every wintersday? What did they ever do to deserve love? They're progeny! Infants! They never did anything to deserve love.

"Or you wanna talk about people who done bad? I happen to know the Commander's kill count is in the thousands. Now, sure, some of those people were bad guys, but some were just in the wrong place at the wrong time or just holding a very nice piece of loot. Is the Commander a bad guy, undeserving of love? (Don't ask them, they'd say yes. And don't tell them I said that either.)

"Love means second chances for the Commander... and third... and thirtieth... but that's not the point, they're trying to be good! And the orphans... if we didn't love them, they wouldn't have a FIRST chance. They can grow up knowing we have their backs because love isn't about what distinguishes us... it's about what holds us together. We're all one people, one group, tryin' our best not to crap shit up. We love each other because dividing people never works for anything good."

Xyxxy rests both hands on the mat, leaning across the cards, head bowed. "Love," she says softly but firmly, "don't care what you did in the past, and neither do the people who love you as one of their own. What matters is what you do with today, not yesterday. The cards can tell you all the secrets of the universe, sprout, but you gotta believe in your heart that love cares more about WHO you ARE than WHAT you WERE before you'll ever be free of your fears.

"Long story short." She snatches up the cards and swirls them into a pile, does a riffle shuffle and tosses them into her left hand. "Your friends say you're one of them and if that's so they won't ever stop loving you. The first step in love is forgiveness, and the first step to forgiveness... is forgivin' yourself. You can't change the past, but you can change today. Who will you CHOOSE to be today? It's never too late to begin anew. Clean slate. Like an electrofried data terminal, all that history just completely gone." She nods and tips her wizard hat back. Then she cringes. "I'm not an expert on literally anything," she whispers. "I hope I somehow helped but if I didn't... good luck finding your peace, my new friend."

This isn't really El asking but me asking for him - will he ever fully get to the point where he's gonna suggest therapy as an solution to his issues? He's on his way there but it's still very baby steps and I'm wondering if his mental hesitancies will weaken at some point

“Hmm...” Xyxxy shuffles thoughtfully, repeating your question under her breath. Two cards slide out of the deck, tumbling to land face-up on the ground.

Xyxxy peers at them intently. “I think it’s possible he will accept that as a solution eventually,” she says after a moment, “if he takes the time to pause and reflect on his state of being and where he wants to be in life.” She pauses, shifting in her chair uncomfortably. “It’s quite a tough decision to make,” she says, “but ultimately therapy is only helpful to someone willing to take the plunge. If he steps back and looks at where he is in life, it’s probable he’ll see his need for proper help.” She brushes invisible dust off her skirt and clears her throat. “I don’t know his story, but if he has any hesitancy about how helpful therapy can be... tell him I said it’s a life-saver.”

I'm not sure if I'm late to the party but could I have a reading for Tomomi? The question being if he could ever overcome his past & what his future holds? (if that works! :D)

Xyxxy shuffles the cards, murmuring Tomomi's question under her breath. Several cards leap out in rapid succession.

"I think you'll find something new arriving soon," she says. "Possibly a person, bringing the beginning of a new chapter. You will learn new things on this journey, and it will be a journey. Probably not geographically a journey, but metaphorically, you know, mentally." She smiles and smoothes out the velvet mat. "You have a lot to learn and it's just around the corner, ready to lead you away from the past and into the future." She picks up the deck, shuffles it with an indistinguishable whisper and a card begins to slide out of the deck. "Your future," Xyxxy says with a smile, flipping the card over, "wherever this journey of discovery may lead you, is a bright one. A time of healing and restoration. The past... it's in the past." She nods and shuffles the cards back into their pile. "I hope that helped a little," she adds. "Good luck, wherever you go now."

Era is in need of some guidance. She wants to reconciliate with her sister (there has been bad blood between the two since a death in the family) but every time the two have met so far they just ended up arguing. People around her tell her to give her sister more time, but this has been going on for almost a decade now and Era feels like she has do do something. (P. S. loved reading the other reading you did already, and thank you for this service!)

Xyxxy ponders, the corner of her lips quirking upwards slowly but steadily. "Patience," she says at last, "is about trusting one's senses and knowing when to persist, and when to resist. Sometimes forging ahead against the current will get you further up the river, but other times you have to wait on the bank for the stormy water to pass. In the end... your progress will be slow, but you'll make it down that river." She picks up a pebble and tosses it over in her hand. "Family is precious," she murmurs. Her pink eyes snap up to meet yours, holding your gaze steadily and solemnly. "Don't ever give them up."

Xyxxy shuffles the deck and pulls out two cards. A third leaps unceremoniously out of her hand to the floor. She shrugs and spreads all three out.

"It seems like your life up till now has been about one goal, one purpose driving you forward, and that's very noble, but now that you've achieved that goal, your focus on the future is... not in focus. You want another goal to focus on and propel yourself towards, but have you considered..." She pauses. "There's a phrase I've been hearing a lot, lately. 'Life's not about the destination, but about the journey.' Perhaps thinking through every step, every movement, every minuscule motivation is holding you back from enjoying the moments as they come. Perhaps...” She pauses, tapping her chin with a sharp fingernail. "What have you been putting off or letting go of to focus on your goal? What have you cast aside along the road to achieving your purpose? Perhaps it's time to revisit old thoughts and desires, and pick up a new hobby along the way. Going back to the Knight and King for a second, perhaps there is already something, or someone, close to your heart that could be your gateway forward. You'll find what you're good at or find someone to support, and before you know it, you’ll be loving every moment. Or at the very least, you won’t be bored."

Xyxxy shrugs, and picks up the cards. "I am still new at this though, so take what resonates and leave what doesn't. I hope at the very least, tonight has been entertaining for you." And she flashes you a brilliant smile.

As you wander into the rose garden in Lion’s Arch, a mysterious figure catches your eye. She is dressed in black with a pointed hat and a set of skulls on her shoulder. “Good evening, friend,” the figure says. “Have you come to know your fortune?”

{Your Character} enters the rose garden, drawn by a subtle yet undeniable curiosity about the stranger with the pointed hat meditating on a lotus chair.

"Excelsior," the stranger says, her large pink eyes blinking open. "Have you come to have your fortune told on this eve of the New Moon?" She retrieves a deck of pink Tarot cards from within her robes. "My cards have told the fate and fortune of many a weary traveller, asking nothing more in return than a testimonial to share with others."

Xyxxy and I are thinking of playing a fun little Spoopy Season Game. It’s a combination of Hide-And-Seek and tarot card readings, where you come find me using a screenshot for a clue and then I give your character a tarot reading to practice with my cards. Anyone interested?
