Jurassic Predator: Xtinction (2014)

Genre: Horror/Sci-Fi

Who’s In It: Lochlyn Munro, Mark Sheppard, Elena Lyons, Lacey Minchew, Ricky Wayne

Who Directed It: Amir Valinia

Plot:  When her father seemingly goes missing, Laura LeCrois is forced to return home and face a terrifying creature living in the Louisiana wetlands: Alligator X, the "T-Rex of the ocean!"

Running Time: 90 Minutes 

IMDB Score: 2.8

Why I Watched It: I’m still asking myself that question.  The two main leads, I guess and yes it’s genre.

How I Watched It: Amazon Prime Canada

Random Thoughts: The original title was Alligator X, not much better maybe just as bad.  Hard to say if they went with the better one.

What I Liked: God help me this was bad.  I watched this late at night and it was the third film I had watched that day so I guess I was tried enough to just let it play.  The fact I finished it is a miracle.  

There is almost nothing to like here, the actors try but for the most part the cast is bad, Sheppard is alright here but he can be much better and Lochlyn Munro is a solid character/genre actor who can pretty much sell anything and I would say he’s the best thing in this movie but sadly that’s not saying much.

What I Didn’t Like: This was amateur hour this was a cheaply and badly made creature feature.  It sucked hard, the film is not only lazy, bland but so badly put together it’s almost unwatchable and the sad part it’s boring.  If it had some camp or at least had some fun this might have been better, at least you could at least laugh at it but what we have here is just boring and badly done.

I should point out how long this feels, I know it’s 90 minutes but man it felt twice as long.  They had maybe a 40 minutes movie here, if that.  It’s a film where it’s hard to pin point what it did worse, I think I would go screenplay and directing, this was not made by a good hand this was someone over their head.  It’s borderline student film bad.  I didn’t hate it but it’s a huge waste of time, if you’re going to do a creature feature have some fun, go big so silly but go somewhere.

Final Thoughts: A cheap, bad, boring movie
