It’s FINALLY done. I’ve finished the sit-com/reality tv show/whatever. It’s only one chapter/a oneshot because it honestly took so long just to write and I procrastinated a bit, but there’s like 4 drafts of just different scenarios for this AU and I’m tired. Not sure if I’ll post this on ao3 or not, but whatever.

[camera pans on Will Solace’s face. He’s sitting on a love seat in a bland room and fidgeting with his hands]

Will: [blinks uncomfortably] uh, I’m not sure what I’m meant to—

[a piece of paper gets thrown at Will and he catches it effortlessly, he looks at the contents and sighs]

Will: [reading from the paper indifferently] welcome to the start of a spin-off series where we look into the lives of the demigods residing at Camp Half-Blood. There will be laughs, there will be hardship, but most of all there will be a rememberable and lovable cast of characters— do I have to read this?

Apollo [off-screen]: of course! How else am I meant to start off my career as the best movie director? You know, I’m still disappointed that I couldn’t be in the show, but maybe Hephaestus is just waiting to star me in something really popular! I know he would never brush off my experience and expertise!

Will: [sighs] fine, fine. —rememberable and lovable cast of characters who all face the mundane problems of Camp Half-Blood. Grab some popcorn and sit back because you are about to be sent to an entire different world.

[Apollo claps off-screen while Will puts his head in his hands]

Apollo: well done! Although I do think you need to be more expressive, but I suppose it’s usable. Now if I had done it I would’ve used more emotions to convey just how excited I was to show off my new show, but that might just be a me thing.

Will: [puts his hands on his lap] can I go yet? Nico said he wanted to play some video games today and I need enough brain power to mentally prepare myself for my inevitable defeat.

Apollo: [hums] I guess. All right, you may leave.

[Will stands up quickly and leaves the studio room/basement of the Big House without another word]

[The camera cuts to a shot of Alice Mizayawa and Julia Feingold, who are standing opposite each other]

Alice: so you know how Mr. D loves his coke?

Julia: [nods] yeah.

Alice: [giggles] so what if I told you I swapped it for diet?

Julia: [blinks] you… Alice!? Are you stupid?!

Alice: [scoffs] no? I am completely aware of the consequences! It’s called wanting to have fun, Juls.

Julia: [raises an eyebrow] are you sure you aren’t trying to impress Kayla?

Alice: [slaps a hand on Julia’s mouth] what?! No! Why would I?

[camera cuts to Julia Feingold sitting on the love seat]

Julia: [looks deadpan at camera] Alice has a crush on Kayla and before you say that it was rude of me to reveal that, I’ll have you know that everyone at camp knows except for Kayla.

[camera cuts back to the previous scene]

Julia: [sighs and gets rid of Alice’s hand] okay, okay. How are you supposed to know if Mr. D finds out?

Alice: [smirks] don’t worry, I’ll know.

[a beat of silence before a frustrated scream echoes through the camp, few campers look for its source]

Alice: there it is!

Julia: [face palms] you are so dead.

[camera cuts to Alice sitting on the loveseat, looking worse for wear yet smiling brightly]

Alice: I got put on dish washing duty for a month, but it was worth it! [she sits crisscrossed on the seat] Kayla said my prank was hilarious! Can you believe that? [her smile widens] I think I might explode.

[Dionysus sits at the love seat, looking beyond tired]

Mr. D: fuck you, Zeus.*

*Hephaestus TV would like to clarify that this is a figure of speech and Dionysus does not actually want to fuck Zeus.

[camera cuts to Cecil Markowitz, Lou Ellen and Will Solace sitting in a circle and playing a card game]

Lou: [places a card on the deck in the middle of the circle] UNO.

Will: [huffs] I swear if this is your third win—

Lou: oh please, you’re just mad you’re bad at a card game.

Cecil: [chuckles] even I’ve won at least once.

Will: [rolls his eyes] it’s a game of luck, Cecil. You don’t need much to win a game like this.

[in the background a cabin lights on fire and Percy Jackson can be seen controlling water from the lake to extinguish it]

Lou: [smirks] are you not lucky, Will?

Will: [deadpans] Tyche hates my guts.

Cecil: did you accidentally forget to heal Chiara or something?

Will: what? No! I take my job as head healer very seriously.

[the fire slowly dissipates, however the cabin is charred and badly damaged. Annabeth Chase walks over to Percy, the two discussing something too far to pick up on]

Lou: [shrugs] it’s your turn, dipshit.

Will: [looks at his cards, then places one on the deck ans grins] maybe Tyche doesn’t hate my guts.

Cecil: [groans] just great. [takes four cards from the opposite deck reluctantly]

Lou: what’s the colour?

Will: hmm, how ‘bout blue?

Lou: ugh! You son of a bicth!

[Will and Cecil laugh at Lou’s unfortunate situation all the while in the background the cabin has gone up in flames again, Percy and Annabeth staring for a single moment before trying to extinguish it again]

Will: [puts a card down] UNO!

Cecil: whaaaat?!

Lou: fuck you, sunshine boy.

Will: [grins smugly] I guess Tyche has finally blessed me. Suck it, losers!

Cecil: [frowns] you’re so cruel, William.

[the three friends laugh as the sun sets behind them. The cabin is no longer on fire and now Leo Valdez and Harley have joined Annabeth and Percy. They discuss something before Harley looks down dejectedly]

[the camera cuts to the bland room once more, Will Solace sitting in the love seat once again]

Will: for the record, I won that UNO game.

[a paper gets thrown at him and Will looks at its contents indifferently]

Will: [reading form the paper] that concludes the pilot episode for Apollo’s new TV show. He would like to thank himself for coming up with the idea and Hephaestus TV for sponsoring the production. Tune back in next Wednesday to catch the very first episode of the series. [looks at camera] how much longer is this gonna last, dad?

Apollo [off-screen]: dunno, I’ll have to check the views first. I’ll get back to you.

[the screen fades to black as Will stands up and leaves]

don’t ask my what kayla x alice is doing in here, I wanted a funny scene and kayla was the first person I thought of.

I hate this so much, but honestly I kind of just want to be done with this (for now). This most definitely branches out from my initial post because it’s hard to incorporate fight scenes when my vocabulary only consists of ‘explosions’ and ‘screams’ in that field. Also, I guess it would make sense if sometimes camp wasn’t in mortal danger and other times it was? So yeah. That’s what this is.

[ahwait-no-yes]

so basically my friend told me today about her dream she had that involved a demon and of course my mind went “...SAIOU AU”

here’s our convo so it makes sense:

if I had the motivation i would DEFINITELY write a fic about this- the fluff/crack/angst potential is t h e r e

and as a bonus doodle,

story is under the cut (it’s long)

“I was gonna keep this in tags but hsdf;j” is what I originally wrote here until I started thinking about this more and sorta wrote the whole plot-

-> as ouma’s killing the other monster things he flirts with shuuichi while the poor demon has never been flirted with so he’s stood there all confused and ??? (his version of blushing would be like, the fire coming from his small horns gets bigger and brighter)

-> the one he summons ends up being like. kaede and they both just end up having to lecture shuuichi on why it is that he should not want to die so easily

-> eventually kokichi and kaede wanna give him a hug so they try to but shuuichi’s Extra Hot™ (from being a demon and also probably blushing) so they both immediately regret that choice but kokichi laughs and gives an obligatory pun about shuuichi being hot which only confuses him because ‘of course im hot?? im a demon??’ while kaede explains what ouma meant

-> imagine shuuichi crying (fire tears..) at the generosity of these two strangers who a) aren’t absolutely terrified of him, b) refuse to hurt him and c) actually *want* to help him and ouma actually inwardly understanding a little bc he’d never imagine someone actually wanting to be with himself either

-> saihara now wanting to know what it’s like to live as a human with ouma and akamatsu but being unable to find a way (except for maybe being undercover?) but promising he’ll bring ouma back to him (he’s aware of the whole aging phenomenon in the lil demon world so he wants to keep their time short) and ouma finding that now he has something to look forward to

-> the 👏 mutual 👏 pining 👏 that commences after they both have to leave each other (if kaede knows kokichi in the real world she’d definitely tease him a little knowing he has a crush- this is probably good potential for building oumaede friendship)

-> it takes a while before ouma and saihara can see eachother again because getting the two to escape without killing saihara exerted a lot of energy on him, but they do get to! about once a month to be safe, and they get to know stuff about eachother like which shops ouma likes to steal from and shuuichi’s really loud demon friend he once had (aka momota)

-> one day though saihara tells ouma that if he keeps doing this he’ll die of exhaustion (it takes a lot of energy from saihara to get ouma in and out of there) and ouma calling him an idiot but really being worried. saihara tells him not to worry about him even if something happens to him, and makes ouma go back to the real world

-> ouma doesn’t hear from him after that

-> he worries he might have been killed or saihara forgot about him and feels stupid for being so hopeful in something so childishly impossible and starts trying to forget about him

-> the real world is aware of demons cause people talk about them (and obvs you can tell when someone’s gone to their.. dimension thing because you can visibly see them age) so still denying that he’s curious and likes saihara still, ouma tries to go to libraries and do his own research on demons and ends up finding out that saihara specifically comes from a bloodline that makes him quite powerful if not for that he wouldnt want to take the risks that come with it and then lowkey gets excited again for saihara while still in ✨denial ✨

-> it’s been almost a year when saihara has enough energy (and more) to ensure that his new plan is successfully carried out and that ouma (and potentially 1 more..) gets back to the real world safely. he created this plan when he figured out how to exist in the real world- by sacrificing the thing he cares most about

-> so when ouma suddenly gets that off-feeling people get when they’re leaving the real world he feels very many emotions at once (giddily going ”ohh my god its not this it cant be this no way oh heck tthisis not happening not a chance”) until he sees the face he’s been waiting 4 months for again except this time it looks.. frighteningly cold

-> ouma’s instincts are screaming at him that something is very, very wrong here especially when he can’t hear any warmth when saihara says “Welcome back, Ouma. It’s your final time” and explains the whole ‘kill these monsters then kill me’ thing again

-> ouma’s confusion inevitably turns to annoyance as he kills the dudes (there appears to be a lot more than there was last time) and fires questions at saihara (‘is this saihara?’ ‘what happened to you??’ ‘do you even remember me?’) while saihara stays silent for the whole time thinking about how he really doesn’t want to be doing this. 

-> eventually ouma decides he was wrong (again) to have put his faith in a guy- a demon- he only met once a month.. even if said demon gave him something to look forward to

-> when he finally gets to saihara alone he internally notes that saihara cant look him in the eye, but he finally speaks to tell ouma that now either himself or ouma will now die (saihara knows this is for sake of the sacrifice, but he can’t let ouma know else it won’t work)

-> ouma refuses to fight him again, expecting saihara to snap back into the meek demon from a year and some months ago, but rather than that happening saihara actually says something like “if you won’t kill me, I’ll have to kill you” and swings at him

-> even if ouma was on his full guard, he still would’ve been surprised by how strong saihara actually could be when he tried to fight- and of course saihara can’t stop now that he’s started but ouma hears the hesitation when saihara asks “are you going to kill me yet?” and gets annoyed that the whole time he spent with him and even akamatsu meant nothing. saihara smiles sadly knowing he’s achieving his goal but ouma thinks he’s smiling at the thought of dying and gets somehow even more annoyed

-> during their whole fight, insert “I’m alone, Ouma, and I will always be” line from saihara, “No amount of talking can convince me otherwise, Ouma. I’m sorry it took so long, but it was foolish of you to trust a demon you met only once” or something and yes it hurts saihara too but ouma’s staying silent and before saihara can continue, ouma fires back with “You’re right- you are meant to be alone. You were always meant to be that kind of guy” and stops dodging to start finally attacking- this is when saihara knows he’s pretty much achieved his target: sacrificing ouma’s trust in him

-> just as ouma swipes at him, saihara’s lil spell thing is activated that takes saihara back to the real world, disguised so people don’t see him as a demon. but now ouma thinks he’s just killed saihara (I just attacked him. and he is gone. i dont know what that light was but i must have just killed him. oh my god im a murderer.”)

-> saihara hiding in the forest to do the lil spell thing again but on ouma (all the time he spent saving on energy was worth it) so ouma gets transported to the real world too and immediately runs to tell akamatsu everything that happened

-> saihara trying to find to blend in with humans from what he remembers of how they act but he doesnt need to particularly eat he just needs a heck ton of sleep so he basically just lives in the forest now. he’s very sensitive to water so he actively stays away from it too (it wont kill him but it does make him sick). he’s still feverishly warm but not scalding and he also decides to work at a store to fit in more

-> ouma regretting what he did to saihara even though saihara hurt him first and realising he misses him

-> saihara ends up accidentally bumping into him at the store he works at that ouma conveniently steals from a lot (”Ouma, you’d make a good demon” “Nishishi! What do you mean? I’m a perfect little angel!”) and saihara gasping when he notices ouma’s unforgettable purple hair and cute smile.

-> ouma finding something familiar about this awkward new staff with the cute face and deciding he’ll visit the shop more often to see this stranger and not because said stranger might help him get over his demon crush

-> then they get to know eachother again for the 2nd time, and as much as this guy is really cute, he clearly knows more than he’s letting on... so of course ouma’s gotta now pay even more attention to him. just so he knows what the guy’s hiding. not cause he wants to know him.

-> one day saihara is sick from trying to protect himself from the rain (cause yk, water bad) so he stays in the forest instead of coming in to focus his energy on getting better and also not blowing his cover. ouma notices he isnt there on that day and asks other staff members where he lives and they’re all like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

-> it rains quite a bit after that, inevitably making saihara even more sick and in turn needing time away to himself, so ouma starts getting worried when saihara stops coming to work

-> saihara really wants to see him though, so one day he tries to drag himself to work in a terrible state where he’s actually almost cold for once and collapses after trying to run to ouma. ouma sees him and tells his manager he cant work nd takes him home himself where saihara wakes up confused

-> ouma lecturing saihara because he worried him and the way he fell reminded him of.. someone (demon shuu).. then he asks vague questions to saihara about if he’s ever met a demon and half-confesses to having met one himself multiple times and ending up falling in love and then probably killing them

-> saihara, in his tired state, tells him his story of how he was raised to believe he had no purpose other than to meet someone who would kill him, eventually finding that person but instead of looking at him with fear or anger he looked at him with admiration and playfulness, how the guy meant to kill him refused to and flirted w him instead. ouma has probably clicked on by this point but saihara continues to tell him he wanted to protect that guy with the power he had so he took time away from his first ‘job’ to find out how to be with him. saihara is probably shaking at this point while he continues telling him about how he found out he had to sacrifice the most important thing to him, so he “went and had a terrible argument with him one day and i ran away. but i’ve never stopped looking for him since, he showed me that even a demon like me can fall in love” (there’s the ✨grand confession ✨)

-> ouma saw it coming from the moment saihara started speaking, but that didnt stop him from being utterly paralysed. of COURSE saihara has to say “When I said you’d make a good demon I really wasn’t lying. Your hand is so warm it could fool even me” which possibly makes ouma completely combust before absolutely bolting out the door and calling akamatsu to tell her to get to his house (”AKAMATSU-CHAN I’M GONNA DIE RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON’T GET HERE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT THIS SECOND”)

-> while waiting for kaede, shuuichi explains that he needs to be Warm™ and immediately holds kokichi’s hold again, while the other’s having a gay panic.. and he doesnt know how to feel because on one hand, his beloved demon is.. right here, in the ‘flesh’, holding his hand, telling him he fell in love with him.. but on the other hand, that doesnt excuse the confusion and hurt he put him through back then, not being able to see him for a whole damn year.. 

-> ouma ignores all the feelings when akamatsu arrives where she’s brought water and blankets (just in case- i feel like shes the kind of friend who would do that) so saihara takes the blankets and ouma takes the water and she calms them both down and gets them to explain everything slowly and in their own time. its awkward esp for ouma who isnt particularly close with her, but they manage it in the end

-> they decide shuuichi literally cant live in the forest so of course now he has to live with ouma but akamatsu offers to help if it ever gets too much for ouma which obviously ouma denies. she leaves soon and its just them but ouma needs some time to himself to clear his head and he only returns late to see saihara asleep clinging onto akamatsu’s blanket with his life lmao so ouma sighs and brings him more. and if he kisses the sleeping demon’s forehead, nobody has to know

-> ofc its still very much awkward and it takes ouma getting used to having even just another presence in his home, let alone his sort-of-unofficial-demon-bf and saihara’s still sleeping a lot of the time but recovering

-> they probably establish their feelings for eachother properly when they’re more mentally prepared for it, and then 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 (they kiss) and are now actually legally boyfriends. i absolutely cannot let this end in angst so they’re happy and love eachother now yay the end

nngl. i talked about this with that same friend and I lowkey want to start writing an actual fic for it now that ive written... literally the entire plot, but if i do that it probably wont be out for a while bc i take 10 years to write lmao-- plus i hardly ever finish what i start so uh yeah.. but hopefully! im not even good at writing fic this is just the plot but yello

Hm... I feel like he would be either air or earth! Maybe more in the air category since he is so fast when he runs and engages in combat. That's the only thing I can think of.

Does your F/O have any artistic hobbies? (Knitting, drawing, painting, etc)

I think Shoot would be good at writing! Or maybe taking photos! I'm honestly not sure. I can't think of a better, more elaborate answer for this one, I'm sorry!

Do you have any silly nicknames or pet names for your F/O?

Oh, Shuu-kun! 💞 That's my silly nickname. A shortened version of Shuuto-kun, with a more intimate honorific. Ever since I got into the series (in context for the f/o questions, "whenever my s/i met him and they both started dating") I thought... What if his nickname was Shuu-kun... I've liked it ever since and it is so silly. In real life, I'll say "the Purple Man" when referring to him as a joke. The majority of the time, I would say "Baby" or "Handsome", but I just love his name. 💓 Shoot's name is fun.

What does your F/O’s Saturdays usually look like?

If he isn't busy with work and at home, he will take the time to enjoy a day out, if he wants to go on a date or anything. Afterwards, just hanging out for the night at home, either cleaning up a bit around the house or lounging as he reads a book or naps. He doesn't get to do that so often.

What’s some advice your F/O would tell you?

Shoot would tell me...the exact same advice that he wishes he could tell himself. Don't worry so much. Don't be afraid. You are good enough. You're much stronger than you think. You don't need to lock yourself up in a cage. Which is sad because that's what I would love to tell him myself if I were in the HxH universe.

I always compile the songs I was obsessed with each month of the year, and after collecting over a hundred this year, I’m ready to write up the top 10 (with matching playlist!) Honorable mentions, just like my book post. Ordered by month, with projects (linked!) I thought of while listening to them.

1) 再演 (ENCORE) by RINGO (MARETU ver.) ft スズFIRE, tuned by akem [January]

君を殺した / あなたを愛した・I killed you / Darling, I loved you

Quite a title. I found this looking through akem’s videos (more to be mentioned shortly) and was absolutely shocked at the intensity of Suzu’s vocals. This is everything I want from a POWER voicebank, and I don’t even use UTAU! For those who don’t understand any of that, it’s a good song and I like it.

2) Mozaik Role by DECO*27 ft Kohaku Merry and Mawarine Shuu [January]

君が嫌うあたしなんて・If what you really hate is me

DECO*27 has quite the presence on this list, because he’s fantastic and every song he makes is good. Mozaik Role makes me think about possession, love, hate, and endings. I like having absolutely no idea what it means. This one is tuned by akem, noted above! I desperately want a remastered version of the original...

3) Checkmate by YuchaP (GIGA ver) ft Len [January, February, December] [KAY]

いたいほどわかってる・I understand so much it hurts

I worked myself into a stupor listening to this. I would go through every line in my head matching it up to the project, restarting constantly to make sure I’d gotten every line. And then I’d get carried away thinking about it, and I’d have to restart again. I still haven’t found a human cover that fully satisfies me.

4) Love Me by Felix Cartal and LIGHTS [March-December] [KAY]

Why can’t I make you love me? (Why can’t I make you love me?!)

This is just... a good song. It’s just a good song. I started my journey with it complaining about the drop, but you know what? It’s perfect. It gets me all sorts of emotional. The music videos you could make with this! The acoustic is great, too.

5) ANDROID GIRL by DECO*27 ft Miku [May-December] [KAY]

ずっとずっと信じてきたのにな・Always, always, I believed in you, for you

New favorite song! And, yes, of course it’s by DECO*27. Every time this man drops a track I’m glued to it for the next six years. And this one--I haven’t heard half the songs it references, but it’s still so powerful. And that music video! When it dropped I was translating everything I could alone in my room. Absolutely beautiful. As always, a song so good even rachie’s fantastic English cover can’t capture the intricate meaning.

6) Conqueror by Sendra ft IA [May, December] [Forest Castles]

I'm not guilty for it and I got nothing to lose

This shocked me. It was on some list of best VOCALOID concerts and I nearly fell out of my seat. That choreo! I think of the choreography specifically all the time. I did my best to connect this to any possible project because I love it so desperately, but the ties are thin.

7) Do Me by Kim Petras [June-December]

I love when you make me come back to back / ‘Cause you know my body nobody does it like that

She! Said! That! I love Kim Petras so much and I could not be happier to see her bragging about all the incredible sex she has. Obviously I was addicted to the entire Clarity album; this was just my favorite by far. The video, the lyrics, the tune, the final chorus...!

8) Sucker by the Jonas Brothers [September] [KAY]

And you're making the typical me break my typical rules

I heard this song on the radio and got all hyped up about the synth. My sister, bless her soul, let me listen to it as a reward for letting her play whatever it is Camila Cabello did to the country this week (sorry I just didn’t like the one with Shawn Mendes) on repeat. And then I downloaded it myself so I can listen to it whenever I want, without bothering her during fruity drink runs. Again, this would make such a good music video... so much so that I haven’t seen the original. I still don’t really know who the Jonas brothers are.

9) If I Had You by Adam Lambert [October] [KAY]

That would be the only thing I’d ever need

Is there a reason we stopped dressing this way, or singing this way, or making music videos this way? Why don’t women do this? Has it really been ten years? Anyway, I love this song and you can probably guess what I think about music videos. It makes me think of revolving hallways and banging parties, even though I listened to it on the same fifteen-minute walk every day.

10) i DO what i WANT by KIRA ft Miku [November] [Forest Castles]

Baby I am just a bad girl with an ego / Can’t help livin’ in my own world, call me evil

Can you believe that, before this, there was not a single song in which Miku introduced herself as, “Hatsune Miku, bitch!”? We needed this. I genuinely cannot wait for this to be played live; I need to see this in person. I want Miku to tell me, personally, “all that you are is a tragedy.” Every line of this is golden. I just think of Ahava because of the ‘evil little girl’ feeling.

HAIR. White, reddish/purple-ish EYES. Golden BUILD. “What the fuck, man, it’s like you’re photoshopped.” HEIGHT. 6'2'' ADDITIONAL NOTES. A known shapeshifter, not even his sons are sure they’ve seen his real form.  He can easily appear as a man, a woman, etc. to suit his needs.

In addition to the racial abilities of a pureborn vampire, he also possesses the highest level of magic in the Demon World and his power is considered by his race, as a whole, as well as his sons, as “Godlike”.  Karlheinz is capable of unleashing his magic and destroying the entire Demon World.  In addition, he can shapeshift and change his appearance as it suits him.  Oh, did we mention he also has the ability to MANIPULATE TIME and REVERSE EVENTS until he’s satisfied?   WEAKNESSES. None?   DISLIKES.  People not doing what he wants them to do in his experiments.

Appearance

As ‘Karlheinz’, at least as most of his sons know him: A pale-haired, golden-eyed figure who dresses in extravagant capes.  His hair falls past his knees in waves and he looks absolutely ethereal.

As ‘Reinhart’, the school nurse, he is pale with blond hair wrapped into a ponytail and wears glasses.

Personality

One of the most powerful creatures in the demon world, he is viewed by the vampires (the bat clan) as a God.  Which may or may not affect his personality, but the fact is that it is universally understood that a man that’s over 2000 years old is in want of a new life goal.  Or death.

INTELLIGENT AND MANIPULATIVE: Karlheinz rarely directly engages these days, usually pulling strings in the background.  He manipulates for the better and for worse, only determined to get closer to his personal goals.  If that heals some and hurts others, so be it. 

AFFECTION: It’s well-known that demons do not experience the same emotions as humans, or at least, they do not act on nor feel them the way humans would.  Even within the “emotions” and “bonds” of demons, Karlheinz is incapable of deep affectionate sentiments and believes that all demons are similarly incapable.  He is obsessed with human emotions despite or because of his inability, glorifying them and incorporating them into his new demonkind 3.0 ideas.  His inability to feel this deep affection doesn’t save him from confusion and hesitant behavior on the rare occasion his plans and experiments are not succeeding.

It’s worth noting that he is considerably kinder when engaging with humans, as he blatantly punishes his own kind for their very nature (of which he is entirely aware).  However, humans break much more easily, so this may be a necessity for engaging those tools compared to his sons.

FAMILY: His sons, wives, etc. are all tools and test subjects with which to create a new race and “save” the Demon World.  If they become failed experiments, he has no issue disposing of them himself.  When it comes to his kids, he’s extremely neglectful but does not hesitate to order their punishment when they displease him.  He’s imprisoned Laito, sent Shuu to the North Pole, and tossed Subaru into the ocean.  Most of his abuse was directly on his wives and directly affected how they would raise their sons, however, for which most of the Sakamaki children loathe him.  

PRINCE CHARMING: Karlheinz excels at charming and manipulating others.  As with Cordelia, he promises everything to obtain them, spoils them, and then acts in whatever manner best executes his experiment.

Notes: - it’s not quite a Bad End but it’s not exactly the best outcome either - I originally got ideas from the initial previews for Bokura no Mirai - obviously none of those happened - if it’s not obvious enough, Koushiro is basically writing a quick program to warp and Rewrite the Digital Worlds’ coding. He moves so fast/swiftly because he’s already been through numerous timelines by this point, and is either a) subconsciously aware or b) not subconsciously, but hyper-aware {depending on which ‘verse/spinoff scenarios this scene Repeats within} - thus yeah these are psuedo-deaths [non permanent]; they don’t literally die {at least Koushiro himself definitely doesn’t in this scene} - look I’m sorry but if Koushiro fell from such a height, at such a speed, into the kind of place like Taichi fell into {it’s uh kind of replaced with maybe a certain Dark Cave here except 02-style; see: Chapter 11, City}, he’d be banged up too - Koushiro may be skilled by this point but he can’t stop everything - Koushiros’ true aim is to solve the {alternative/timeline splits?} mystery that they’ve possibly got thrown into, so he has a ways to go still; along the way, he’s coming to terms mentally with his own situation while bearing the weight of it all - this bit attempts to explain the canonical timeline gap between Spring 2003 [02 drama CD] ~ April 2005 [Tri start; Saikai] - I really miss my old website / 02 fic and really just want to write Daisuke {02 fav} helping Koushiro during a high stakes moment and them both acknowledging each other[s’/strengths] in turn - I meant to post this a long time ago but {well} Yup

Family had many interpretations, Aiden learned. Family could be warm and sweet and comforting, but family could also be cold and cruel and a waste of time.

He didn’t have a need for his mother’s warm smile or his father’s comforting hugs. He didn’t want their affection or approval. Why should he need anything from them when all they’ve done is distant themselves from him?

Family meant cold meals and awkward dinners. Family meant empty houses and quiet rooms. Family meant missing any and all of his award ceremonies.

Family meant nothing to Aiden.

Sometimes, though, when the walls felt like they were caving in and the silence was too loud, he wondered what it would be like to have a family that cared.

Would his mother make him a warm breakfast with a smile on her face? Would his father pick him up from school and ask about his day? Would they care enough to love him?

It wasn’t good to dream. Aiden was well aware that dreaming about a better life would only sour his mood more. It didn’t help that he wanted a family, one that cared. He wanted to feel something other than the aching cold in his bones.

After a while, though, he learned to stop wanting. Wanting led to dreams of the impossible; to days where he felt like a stranger in his own skin. So he stopped wanting.

Instead, he pretended. He smiled and laughed as if nothing was wrong. He dyed his hair and put on eye contacts and stopped feeling like a stranger to himself. Nobody saw the broken boy inside him. Nobody knew who he truly was.

And he wanted to keep it that way.

Ben made things difficult. Ben gave him things he thought he’d never get. He gave him company, patience and love. Ben cared about him. Ben asked about his day; he listened when Aiden talked about his interests. It was almost surreal.

Ben gave him purpose and he was thankful. No, grateful. Smiling was easier with Ben around and laughing felt less forced than usual.

Then they moved and Aiden finally understood what a family was. He laughed and smiled and joked with his friends and almost forgot about the loneliness inside of him. They made living easier. And even though the phantoms weren’t ideal, Aiden was sure he’d never trade this for the world.
