I think what gets me about Callum's TOX bio having "I value those close to me more than anyone or anything" is the "anyone" because that's just... so specifically people. "Anything" is a lot more vague. Could be morals, and certainly over himself and over magic, as the show has made clear numerous times ("You can't risk your life to learn magic" in 2x04 vs jumping off the Pinnacle for example). And you could make the argument that it includes people, but it'd be just that: an argument, because "anything" could easily not entail Callum prioritizing his loved ones over other people's lives, too. Like... because the alternative that he does is big, and that's a big exploitable flaw in the classic "loved ones vs the world" dilemma. But we know the alternative - that he does value his loved ones over anyone else in the world - is what we're looking at, and that he and will and has shown it (being willing to help Finnegrin murder Domina Profundis if it means sparing Rayla / all of 5x08 just being set up and the tip of the iceberg).
