How about an au where afo is included in the list of quirks ofa carries? and it's the first one izuku unlocks

1- Izuku watches the Zero Pointer get closer and needs to do something to help, so he pulls deep inside and reaches for the power All Might gave him- and then zips off as his legs hurt, but don't blow off. He crashes into Uraraka as Iida falls to the street for the sudden stop and grips his own legs. Izuku tugs Uraraka out of the rubble and Zero G comes too, and the combined quirks he rockets them out just before the robot comes down.

2- it's hard for Iida to walk, but he stumbles back down the road to the other two as Izuku panics because These Are Not His Quirk and This Wasn't Supposed To Happen and also he really wants to puke right now. Uraraka panics because he's panicking, and slaps his face to get him to focus on her. She gets him to take deeper breaths, them shows him how to release the quirk. Once that's done, he says he isn't sure how to give it back but he'll figure it out- and it's a bit similar to releasing her quirk, back into her. She sways, dizzy, but the color comes back into her cheeks and the pads return to her fingers. Then Izuku turns to Iida.

3- Iida takes a step back, then schools his face. He keeps going, then holds out his hand. Izuku takes it, and it's a little harder to release this quirk, but eventually he pushes it back to Iida's legs. The kids all sit in silence as RG checks them over. Once they're cleared, Uraraka stands up and thanks Izuku. After she walks away, Iida nods. "It was.... Good of you to save her, instead of running away." Then he leaves too. Izuku still sits there, until All Might shows up to lead him away. He hadn't even known his mentor had been watching, but it's clear now he was.

4- Uraraka goes to talk to Present Mic. Tenya calls Tensei. And on the beach, All Might talks to Izuku for hours, about the history of One For All- and it's twin quirk. He hands a stone to Izuku, and tells him to try to activate his quirk again. There's no one to steal from, here. Izuku launches the rock into the ocean, and snaps his arm bones in the process. One quick trip to RG later and it's clear she has no idea what happened to the quirk. Nedzu doesn't know either, but is absolutely delighted.

5- Three acceptance letters and four weeks later, Uraraka leans over to Iida when they walk to the quirk assessment test. She's quiet, and he stops to listen. "Hey, this is maybe a weird question... But does your quirk feel stronger, ever since Midoriya gave it back?"

"Actually, yes..."
