like idk what you want me to say abt transfem gen *theory (not bc it's unimplied or 'not obvious', again just hadnt gave it thought 'till recently). like gen being the 'hand' of violence of the story and all.

#txt #within the context of say reiji's mom (or the women groomers of the story in general) soft violence (cohersion thru manipulation and other #subtle social contracts) v. say gen's or reiji's dad hard violence (not only physical but economic. gang violence wage slavery life threate #ning debt etc). but that there arent actually many men reoccuring in the story except like 3 w/o reiji. esemori is an outsider and #a p good for nothing guy. reiji's brother while literally locked away for most of the story even if he did have notable participation in on #arc. and that still shows the marginality in presence in the story. they dead or locked or in another place and generally 'over there' in a #place you cant see them but that youre still inevitably affected by them. and so gen stands as the one 'physical' material hand of their #influence or the 'symbollic' indirect kinds of violence they propagate etc and even placed on him against his will and him on rei etc.#so. too. gen is a person that further into the story and away from more normal social contexts externalizes most emotions thru #anger that easily translates into violence. be it insecurity fear jealousy guilt spite anger so on. and if not then it's apathy. one #different from rei's or yuko(reis mom) more melancholic apathy. like chako's its got a dryness (and direction. it's focused) to it.
