Favorite thing about them: Where to start? Probably his willingness to keep on going, even though things suck, and he’s really had a horrible time of it. So much of his childhood was objectively terrible, and so he has so few people who actually care about him, yet he keeps on pushing forward. It’s clear that Sylvain has *something* of death wish, and is trying to cope through whatever means possible, and I love that he just keeps on trying to push forward, even when it looks hopeless.

Least favorite thing about them: Lol, where to start? Misogyny? I mean, I don’t think he’s actually misogynistic - his problem with women is the same problem he has with his father, and with anyone who cares more about crests than about people themselves. But he is also objectively an asshole to the people he dates, and I love and hate it at the same time.

Favorite line: “A smile, it tells you who someone is. Are they fake or sincere? It also makes you feel stronger when you smile. My smile helps me focus and set free all of that power I never asked for.” [From his B support with Marianne. It is criminal that they don’t have an A support]

BrOTP: INGRID. I love their friendship even if it’s a disaster. I also really like his and Dedue’s relationship. They really get one another, and I think they clearly enjoy each other’s company.

OTP: Felix/Dimitri. I definitely like Dimisylvix the best, but I also like Sylvix and Dimivain a lot. They share so much, and Felix is definitely the person Sylvain cares for most in the world (with Dima and Ingrid as close seconds). Sylvain would do anything for Felix, and I adore their supports. Sylvain also will follow Dimitri wherever he leads, but doesn’t think Dimitri is anyone other than who he is. I love how Sylvain doesn’t just pretend everything is better after Gronder, but instead lets Dimitri have the chance to make things right without erasing the past.

NoTP: Unpopular opinion but Ingrid. I just don’t see them ever being happy together long term as anything other than friends.

Random headcanon: Sylvain spends a lot of time in Abyss. Most people think he’s fucking around, or just generally getting up to something unsavory, but he’s actually in the library, reading. It’s the one place that he doesn’t have to keep up his “I’m a dumb skirt-chaser” routine, and can actually enjoy intellectual things.

Unpopular opinion: Do I have any other than “Sylvain is the most wonderful and I would love being friends with him?” I don’t think so.
