To Parallel The Devil Judge and Laws of Attraction for a moment (coz when am I not thinking of TDJ?): Minister Cha's son and Thantai are the same person. Abusive Childhood and explosive tempers. But where TDJ wins and LOA loses for me is TDJ never tries to excuse Cha's son with 'had a bad/tragic/abusive childhood'. They don't show him mercy because having a bad childhood is not an excuse to be a shitty person. On the other hand LoA doesn't do the same for Thantai. Does it explain Thantai's behavior? Yes. Does it excuse it? No.
