YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS okay well the first thing i've seen of them was their live set of six video that i'm posting gifs of right now(which instantly hooked me but i put them on hold for a bit until my mind was ready to properly absorb)

otherwise i've been listening to all of the albums from first to last in order and loving everything

but if you just want some song recs NOT in order, then here are some:

hold your head up might be their most well known one. there is a long version and a short version, but here is one from when they were on the pilot episode of the midnight special (i always thought they were saying "hold your head up WHOA" but i learned they're saying WOMAN and i read that it was written in support of the women's liberation thing like not letting anybody get in their way, just hold your head up and keep going. my favorite lyric is "AND IF THEY STAAAARE JUST LET THEM BURN THEIR EYES ON YOU MOOOVING AND IF THEY SHOOOOUT DON'T LET IT CHANGE A THING THAT YOU'RE DOOOING")

god gave rock and roll to you was another big one one and kiss did a version of it that maybe is more well known, but i love the song even more now knowing that russ ballard(the singer in the sunglasses) wrote that when he was coming out of depression

liar was made popular when three dog night did a cover of it and made it a hit

one that gets stuck in my head very often is like honey

dance in the smoke is a very nice song to vibe to i think

ANNNNNND russ's voice in bring you joy is BEAUTIFUL

tragedy gets stuck in my head too and for some reason whenever i listen to it, i feel like i'm in the early 80's instead of the 70's and i don't know why

i love how happy celebration sounds

one of my favorite things is how some of their songs have very uplifting or encouraging sounds/lyrics

i'll include this one too even though the video has some issues but i love it anyway: it's only money

i'm still new to some of them and learning the names and matching what they sound like to their titles in my head but i'm currently listening to this one(i am the dance of ages) right now so i'll list it because i love
