Stadium Sweetheart- Jude Bellingham
Genre: fluff, comforting
Author's note: short and sweet🎀
Summary:Can your boyfriend help you choose your stadium's outfit?Of course he can.
"Please recommend me something to wear”
“I don’t know what girls wear at a stadium, darling”
Oh and that was it, his english accent that could literally melt you in any second. But seriously, you literally wore every ‘sportive- girl outfit you have in your closet and you were stressing yourself,t rying to find something decent to wear.
“I might have an idea” you say, a sudden spark of inspiration lighting up your face. You dash over to Jude's side of the closet and pull out one of his jerseys, the one with "BELLINGHAM" and his number emblazoned on the back. Holding it up, you grin.
He raises an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Going for the full supporter look, are we?"
"Well, I want to be your number one fan, don't I?" You slip the jersey over your head, feeling a rush of excitement. It's a bit oversized, but that only adds to the charm. You pair it with your favorite mini skirt and a pair of white heels.
“Heels to a stadium, you serious?” he says giggling.Maybe that was a bad idea, but girls would do anything to keep the outfit on top.
“Shut up”
“Yes sir”He says ironically, you can’t help but laugh at his words.
As you make your way to the stadium, the atmosphere is electric. Fans are pouring in, waving flags and singing chants. You feel a sense of pride wearing Jude's name on your back, knowing that you're part of something bigger.
At the stadium, you take your seat among the sea of supporters. The game begins, and you watch Jude on the field, playing with the skill and passion that made you fall for him in the first place. Every time he makes a great play, you jump to your feet, cheering and shouting his name.
When the game is over and your boyfriend’s team wins, you start searching for him on the field and so does he.As soon as he sees you, he blows a kiss towards your direction.
You can’t be more excited for him than you are now.You know how he loves football and achieving his dreams makes only you more proud than you already are.
you get off your seat and walk towards him, hugging him tightly as he gives you a kiss on the forehead.
“I kinda feel like you brought me luck, didn’t you?”

alexia putellas x child!reader
Alexia helps a young fan who is getting crushed in a crowd of fans.
You grew up with brothers, they were rough and put you in goal for their football games with their friends. To say you took a battering everytime was an understatement. You papa put you in a boys football team when you turned 4 to 'toughen' you up.
You would watch Barcelona mens games on TV, never being allowed to go to the Camp Nou with your brothers and your papa as you were too young. Instead, your mother put you infront of the Barcelona femeni. You would skip down to the Johan ever week with your mama, wearing a hand me down jersey with your brothers name on the back.
You soon got to learn everything, by 5 and half you knew all the players and even joined in with the chants too, waving your small flag around.
"Aleexxia! Alexxxiiaa!" You'd sing, proudly showing off your Barcelona jersey on the way to the game, your cuddly toy in your hand.
"Are you excited for the game today, bebita?" Mami asked. You'd nod. "Who are you excited to watch?"
"Alexia!" You'd show off your little toothy grin and shake with excitement.
-
Mama put you on her shoulders so you could see better, you'd raise your arms and cheer and squeal throughout the 90 minutes.
Alexia socred and you went crazy, jumping up and down and giggling with you mama, the couple next to you smiling at your happiness.
"Alexia, Mama!!"
At the end of the game, the team won 7-0. You were so excited you wriggled your way through to the front trying to see past everyone. You waved at the players as they walked past.
"HOLA MAPI!!" You grinned, waving your hand franticallly.
You gasped a little as you felt an older girl behind you shoving you against the railing, looking down you see someone else stepping on your foot, squishing it inside your pink trainers.
"MAPI POR FAVOR!!!"
"ow!" You tried to move but you kept getting pushed and shoved.
You were a small five year old, and getting pushed around in a crowd of shouting people wasn't something you wanted to be in.
"MAMMA!" You called out, but mama was no where to be seen.
Tears filled your eyes and spilled down your cheeks.
"Ow! You are hurting!" You tried to call out to the people around you but no one seemed to listen as they waved their shirts down at the players.
“OW! POR FAVOR!” You teared up more, being barged around between older children and adults, being squished against the barricade.
Alexia came over towards your stand, not having seen you squished in and teary eyed. She signed a few shirts and then caught sight of you.
"Alexia!" You cried, in both happiness and fear. You tears became more violent as the crowd pushed closer and closer to the barrier to see sight of the footballer.
"Hola bebita, your ok!" She shouted at the crowd around you to stop pushing and this caught attention of her teammates. Patri, Aitana, Mapi and Claudia rushed over jsut as she pulled you over the fenced area.
You tears didn't stop, they couldn't. You were scared and frightened.
The players created a circle around you, Alexia holding you against her chest as you legs wrapped around her.
She rubbed your back softly and gently swayed you side to side.
"What's your name?" Patri smiles softly, rubbing your cheek to clear the drying tears.
"I'm y/n." You sobbed, holding your soft toy in your hand still, a tight grip on the cuddly penguin.
"How old are you, y/n?"
You held up five fingers on your small hand, dropping your head onto Alexia's shoulder.
"Your so tiny!" Alexia smiled. Are you here with mama and papa?"
"Mami" You told her.
"With you mami." she nods. "Does she know where you went?" She asks, looking around back to the stands she pulled you from.
You shook your head, you'd slipped out of her reach and was just too excited to wave to the team that you forgot to keep near her.
"Who is this?" Claudia points at your penguin, Alexia shifting you onto her hip as you show your cuddly toy.
"Pepa" You tell her, your voice soft and quiet.
The girls keep you calm and security goes to find you mama. Alexia keeping hold of you the whole time.
"You must have been scared in there, huh?" She smiles softly, tilting her head.
You nod. "I just small!" You tell her.
She chuckles softly. “You are! But it’s okay, your safe now.”
“Did you like the game? Alexia scored an amazing goal didn’t she!” Mapi smiles.
“Sí! I did lots of clapping” You grin at the defender. “Mami put me high so I could see.” You tell them.
A short while later, security come down to the pitch with your mami.
“Y/N!” She rushes over, taking you out of the Barcelona captain’s arms. “I told you to stay by my side!” She sighs.
“Lo siento Mami. But this is Alexia!” You giggle, looking at the midfielder who’s smiling at you.
“Well thank you for helping her, Alexia.” She smiles.
“It’s not worries, I loved spending time with you y/n! I’ll see you at the next game?” She asks.
You nod. “Sí!! And Pepa!” You hold up the penguin and wave it at her.
“Say bye now, we need to go.” Mama hurry’s you up.
“Bye Alexia!”
“Bye Y/N! Bye Pepa!”

Ghost of the past -Alex Keller
Based on a request:
Alex Keller angst with f reader? 👀 Do your worst, break my heart --- F!Reader, angst, death of character, cheating, established!relationship ---
It's perfect, a relationship between a soldier and his civilian girlfriend, nothing more than happiness and great talks. That is what the plan was meant to be like. The day he met her, something you wish to know how it went. Platonic, is all he explained, but she was not meant for that and neither were you. Farah, the girl he worked with, was so sweet you too swore she was just a friend, clung to that. Just a friend. His gaze, was not on yours but on her as she wore a gown to the military ball. Oh sweet sight he held dear to him. He never called your relationship love, something you did behind his back. The chilly autumn wind, the scarf that he kept in his home even to this day. Last reminder of what once was.
Singing in cars, dancing in bars and kissing at American football games when his favourite team won. Getting lost in the woods so he can have just five more minutes of you. Family album his mum swore you and he would create the minute he married you. "Come on sweet pea," something he always said to you, now said to his oh-so-sweet love. The love he had for you is long gone, something he wished to hold for just five more minutes, get lost in the woods with you for that time. Just him and you.
Dancing in the kitchen's dim light, the fireplace keeping you warm as the winter winds came by. Your scarf on the sofa as he made love to you that night. His clothes and boots were under your bed as he claimed your body over and over again.
"Alex Keller will be your teammate for this, Farah," what a way to meet the jewel of his glimmery eyes. The family home you swore he'd grown old in with you, now left abandoned at that mossy end of the road. No more drives to the airport for him, no more keeping up with American football teams for when he came back home to ask who would be going to the Superbowl. He lost the one cheerleader that kept her chant even at the worst of times. Hand in hand, hospital rooms, sick days and now...tombstone he cleans.
"Alex!" you giggle as he carries you through the field. His brothers chasing you both. Flag football, trying to win the heart of his dear sweet pea and the carrot cake his lovely mother made. Did she know you were the first girl he took home? Did she know you were the one who held his hand when she failed to cover for him on the battlefield? Maybe not but could she care he lost it all after you?
Now, he walks through that empty football stadium alone, the January wind making his nose red. The same one you kissed with his rosy cheeks. "And this was him at 5, Halloween at the old house," his mum shared the picture of the young Alex.
"One day, you and I will walk that same street, trick or treating with our children," he kisses your temple on that November night.
"Wait, what does that mean?" you ask him, he chuckles and cups your face. "They are going to the Super Bowl, sweet pea," the Eagles t-shirt hung from his shoulder.
"WE WON!" He raises his arms and then turns to you, a smile on your face. Eagles shirt, worn by you.
Springtime came by last spring morning with you. The night time came quickly and so did the end. You drove to the local shop for some medicine and then you saw it. Her hand, greeting his mothers. Your heart ached. Was this the reason why for Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's he told you, he would be away and not contact his family? Was he creating those memories with her? Deception, betrayal and solitude. All given in the blink of an eye by the man who fathered your unborn child.
Flashbacks swarm you. August, when he kissed your forehead and drove you to the first of many lectures you gave as a professor. September, the way he made love to you, how by morning he made breakfast, how in that night of love, you made the child that would hold his last name. October, the sweet nothing he whispered before he went on deployment. November, December and January of that time, how you didn't hear from him or anyone of his family. Betrayal began on the second of October. March only brought blues and grey skies.
April brought black gowns.
"R/N, please let me explain. I got carried away, I forgot-"
"You forgot me, Alex! You forgot me!" you cry, the resentment felt by the child growing in you. "It's not that, I swear it's just-"
"Was it not enough? To give you all of me? I never asked for much. Respect and honesty? Was it so hard for you to even give me the decency to not run around town with her?"
"It's not good for the baby-"
"Don't you pretend to know between right and wrong!"
That night, it is said that a soldier so fierce and strong like him became the weakest of them all. He lost the battle between you and life. He became a man...no...he became the ghost of a man. A ghost that haunts the home he made with you. The empty cradle, the empty side of the bed that belonged to you. The two tombstones he visits every day. The picnics and conversations he has with two souls who wanted him home, all as he created another home with a woman who fell in love with someone else.
Wise men say, don't chase two lovers, not when the right one is there, playing the fool as you chase the one who can't give you more than a glance or a word. Stay with the one who made you feel safe in a danger zone. Stay with the one who even after all, made you soup, tucked you in bed and reminded you of how strong you are, all whilst she carried your child. A child he never met, a child that went with you to the great big sky.
"I'm sorry, sweet pea," the drunken man cried to the tombstone of what was his beloved. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, all watched him beg to the skies for a second chance at this. To press replay on that time of his life, when he had it all. The girl of his dreams, the woman set to carry his blood, the woman who cheered him on during war. Now, all that is left of you, is all you left at home. The way you set the portraits, the furniture and the nursery, to only be watched by the ghost of him. Fool, the man he became.
A/N: I love Farah, okay, so this is no hate for my baby Farah, I just needed to make this interesting

“Prior to the organised attacks against them, Maccabi Tel Aviv fans had engaged in their own racist riots on the streets of Amsterdam. Video footage shows mobs tearing down images of Palestinian flags from people’s houses, all while singing “Fuck you, fuck you, Palestine”. Images circulating on social media show Maccabi fans assaulting and damaging the car of a taxi driver.
On the way to the football match, footage depicts Maccabi supporters singing racist and genocidal chants of “Let the IDF win! We will fuck the Arabs” and “Death to Arabs”. As Al Jazeera reports, the Maccabi supporters also chanted anti-Arab slogans such as “Fuck you Palestine” and “No children left in Gaza”, according to videos verified by Reuters and eyewitnesses Al Jazeera spoke to.
[…]
Statements by pro-Israel Jewish groups around the world — including in Australia, as well as by Israeli officials — that refer to the violence against Israeli supporters as a “pogrom” conveniently leave out these racist and violent acts by Maccabi supporters. While nothing can justify antisemitic slurs and acts of violence, this context, of racialised violence going both ways, and being started by Maccabi fans themselves, makes the Holocaust and pogrom analogies impossible to justify.”

Israeli football fans clash with protesters in Amsterdam
Amsterdam city council member says ‘Maccabi hooligans’ instigated violence and attacked Palestinian supporters. Israeli football fans have clashed with apparent pro-Palestinian protesters before and after a Europa League football match between their team Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax in Amsterdam. The clashes took place outside the Johan Cruyff Arena on Thursday night, the city’s main arena and Ajax Amsterdam’s home stadium, as well as in other areas. Ajax won the match 5-0 after leading 3-0 at halftime. Reporting from Amsterdam, Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen said the clashes were the result of a buildup in tensions over a few days. Hundreds of supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv came to Amsterdam, held a very vocal rally in the main square before the incident, waving Israeli flags, and also took down a Palestinian flag,” she said. On Thursday, police had said on social media that they were being particularly vigilant in the wake of politically charged incidents, including the tearing down of a Palestinian flag from a building. Social media videos captured the reported incident, showing Israeli fans shouting slogans while an individual was taking the flag down. Before the game, videos showed crowds of Maccabi supporters chanting anti-Arab slogans. In one video, Israeli supporters were heard singing: “Let the IDF win, and f*** the Arabs!,” referring to the Israeli army’s offensive on Gaza. Another video captured a fan screaming: “F*** you terrorists, Sinwar die, everybody die,” in reference to the Hamas leader who was killed last month. The Israeli fans instigated the violence after arriving in the city and attacking Palestinian supporters before the match, an Amsterdam city council member said. “They began attacking houses of people in Amsterdam with Palestinian flags, so that’s actually where the violence started,” Councilman Jazie Veldhuyzen told Al Jazeera on Friday. “As a reaction, Amsterdammers mobilised themselves and countered the attacks that started on Wednesday by the Maccabi hooligans.” Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 10 Israelis were injured. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office did not clarify what led to what it called a “very violent incident against Israeli citizens”. Netanyahu said, in a Friday statement issued by his office, that he “views the horrifying incident with utmost gravity and demands that the Dutch government and security forces take vigorous and swift action against the rioters, and ensure the safety of our citizens”. Netanyahu also ordered the country’s spy agency to draw up a plan to prevent violence at events abroad. “I have instructed the head of the Mossad [David Barnea] and other officials to prepare our courses of action, our alert system and our organisation for a new situation,” he said in a video statement during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry to oversee the evacuation of Israelis from Amsterdam. The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it called “anti-Arab chants” and apparent attacks on the Palestinian flag. In a statement posted on X on Friday, it called on the Dutch government to “conduct an immediate investigation into the instigators of these disturbances and to protect Palestinians and Arabs residing in the Netherlands”. Amsterdam resident and activist Mo Kotesh told Al Jazeera Israeli fans attacked innocent people on the streets, property and taxi drivers on Wednesday and took down a Palestinian flag. Kotesh, of the Palestinian community in the Netherlands, said that they went to an area near the central Dam Square – as instructed by the municipality – to hold a peaceful demonstration on the day of the match. He said he saw locals trying to counter the violence started against them and their properties by Israeli fans. Israeli “hooligans” chanted songs swearing at Arabs, saying, “There are no schools in Gaza because there are no children left.’” Israeli political commentator Ori Goldberg told Al Jazeera the incident showed that the Israeli narrative had taken over Europe.
"The fact that Israeli fans riot in the middle of Amsterdam, sing racist songs and climb the walls of homes to tear down Palestinian flags … is part of the Israeli condition at the moment: A complete detachment between actions and consequences,” he said. On Friday, Al Jazeera’s Vaessen said the capital was calm. Arrests and injuries Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema had banned a pro-Palestinian demonstration amid concerns about tensions between protesters and supporters of the Israeli football club. About 600 police were deployed after rioting started between pro-Palestinian supporters and Maccabi fans, Al Jazeera’s Vaessen reported, adding that five people were briefly taken to hospital with light injuries. Police said on Friday that 62 people were arrested. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators had tried to reach the stadium, Vaessen said. According to police, the fans left the stadium without incident, but several clashes in the city centre were reported during the night. Veldhuyzen, the council member, said, “The mayor says the police did act, but I would say they acted not at the right moments.” He told Al Jazeera: “They acted only to protect the Maccabi hooligans when Amsterdammers stood up to defend their own people and defend their own houses. And this is when the police showed up to protect the Maccabi fans when they ran away after attacking people.” Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said he followed the news of the rioting with “horror”, adding that “the perpetrators will be tracked down and prosecuted”. In a post on Friday on social media platform X, Schoof said, “Completely unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis. I am in close contact with all those involved.” UEFA condemnation Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar spoke to his Dutch counterpart, Caspar Veldkamp, and requested the Dutch government’s assistance in securing the departure of fans from hotels to the airport in Amsterdam. Saar “emphasised the seriousness with which Israel views the widespread violent attacks against its citizens throughout Amsterdam”, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said. Goldberg, the Israeli political commentator, said Israel’s reaction to the clashes reflected a “complete rejection of the notion that actions have consequences” given the Israeli fans’ actions in Amsterdam. The Israeli club, Maccabi Tel Aviv, was founded in 1906 in Jaffa, now part of Tel Aviv. It is languishing at the bottom of the Europa League table this season, at position 35 of 36. Its next game in the Europa League on November 28 will be against Turkish team Besiktas, based in Istanbul. However, following a decision by the Turkish authorities, the match will be played in a “neutral venue”. In a statement on Friday, the Palestine Football Association (PFA) said it was “gravely concerned by the sequence of violent events in Amsterdam”, specifically the “deplorable incitement to violence, anti-Palestinian racism, and Islamophobia expressed by Maccabi Tel Aviv fans”. The PFA called on football’s governing bodies FIFA and UEFA “to address the normalization of genocidal, racist, and Islamophobic rhetoric among Israeli football supporters and to implement concrete measures to combat this hostility”. European body UEFA earlier condemned the “acts of violence” before and after the match. “We trust that the relevant authorities will identify and charge as many of those responsible for such actions as possible,” it said in a statement.

As a painfully British person (think ready-salted Walkers level), I find British football culture so embarrassing. I didn’t even want the national team to win, partly because it’s always laced with fears of rising domestic violence when they lose and concerns about how the oafs falling out of pubs nearby are going to behave. Spoiler alert: they act like idiots.
The truth is, I know English football culture isn't going to change—people whose only purpose is to follow footballers around, shout at them for 90+ minutes, and get on the piss with the 'lads,' maybe with a cheeky bag on the side, just to feel something. And while I get that, being a purposeless entity myself, the streak of violence throughout it is mortifying.
The chants are embarrassing.
The booing of national anthems is embarrassing.
The war songs are embarrassing.
The drinking culture is embarrassing.
The arrogance, ignorance, and entitlement are unbearable.
What’s worse is that it stems from a deep, state-endorsed ignorance about our history and how we act now. Take King Charles, for example, visiting Commonwealth countries and waving like some kind of messiah.
Imagine that? Being the head of a culture responsible for the murders of millions of people throughout history and stealing their country's resources and wealth before popping it on hideous crowns and in our museums... and then having the audacity to wave your sausage fingers at the people from the countries you stole it from?
Reducing this culture to 'banter' is just them waving a white flag because they have the IQ of a concrete slab. Why would they want to question why people loathe England fans so much? It’d lead them to question the only thing that makes them feel part of something.
You can't separate 'politics' from it either because these divvies are singing songs about WW2 before slurring their way through a national anthem about wanting to be forever reigned over by a royal family.
If you want to remove politics from the national anthem, let’s change it to "Angels" by Robbie Williams.
I know it’s not revolutionary for a left-leaning person to have issues with patriotism. But the sheer level of ignorance in this country, combined with arrogance, makes the concept impossible for me.
#euros 2024#football#england#im trying to stop my autistic ass monologuing to the people i love about shit i get incensed about lol sorry

*antisemitism is all of it. Not part of it. All of it.
Ok I've been holding back on here too because of this exactly. I knew I'd get Anons™ about it.
Anti semitism does absolutely play a part in this. But do you know how often shit hits the fan around football matches here? They cancelled one a while back because the police was on strike and they didn't want to risk it. These are people who will take ANY excuse to start a fight.
israeli fans ripping down palestinian flags, lighting fireworks, singing anti arab songs, and destroying a taxi? More than enough. Especially since our fascist government treats pro palestine protests/protesters as thugs looking for a fight and anything and everything israel does as fair game, and the israeli fans starting shit like innocent little schoolboys who just wanted to watch the football.
I saw an article from the jeruzalem post last night (that's still saved in my drafts because it pissed me off but I was not in the mood for *gestures* this) where they PRAISED and fucking WOOBEFIED Geert Wilders. Poor little Geert who won the election but then was BLOCKED from becoming PRIME MINISTER by the EVILS who HATE him!! SO UNFAIR!! *stomps feet and pouts*
I'm guessing you're not Dutch and have no idea who this guy is, so let me break it down.
He is a trump-fan. He posted a selfie wearing a fucking MAGA hat to celebrate trump's win. He is bffs with Viktor Orbán He admires/supports basically every right wing racist here in Europe (like Giorgia Meloni, Marine le Pen, Filip Dewinter). He has been openly racist/Islamophobic in Dutch politics for the past 20 years. He has openly and on purpose offended Muslims by posting images of the prophet Mohammed He made a film on the "dangers" of Islam - again, just to offend and attack Muslims Has referred to hijabs as "kopvodden" - headrags. His party won the local elections in The Hague in 2014 and he was there to address the crowd gathered in some cafe or something where they had waited for the results (even though he didn't even RUN in The Hague himself) and asked them if they wanted more or less Moroccans in The Hague, the crowd started chanting "minder, minder" - "less, less" and then he promised he would take care of that. He has referred to Islam as "achterlijk geloof" "retarted belief" He has been convicted for hate speech (though sadly it didn't even come with so much as a fine and he doesn't give a fuck) His party sadly did get the most seats in parliament after the election last year, but the three other parties his party has now formed a government with blocked him from becoming prime minister. WHICH SUITS HIM JUST FINE. He HANDPICKED a prime minister, who is basically his minion, but he still gets to pick fights with other parties on twitter and insult the (HANDPICKED BY HIM!!) prime minister and act like he's still in the opposition instead of the actual government. Now onto the fun part you might care about. So he supports israel yeah? Nice little photo op with him attending a shabbat in a synagogue, once again speaking out against people protesting the fact that the israeli president would attend the opening of the new Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam, all that good stuff. Geert Wilders is leader of the PVV, right? largest party in dutch parliament right now. So his party got to appoint some ministers. We've got Fleur Agema, the current minister of public health, who had/has an account on a stormfront (white power /neo nazi) message board. Marjolein Faber, current minister of immigration, big fan of the omvolkingstheorie - a theory that states all white people in the world are being replaced by non white people and that it's this big conspiracy lead by Jewish people. Reinette Klever, current minister of developmental aid, former board memeber of "Ongehoord Nederland" - a tv broadcaster for the "unheard" (aka an excuse to be racist on main) also a big fan of that theory, refused to distance herself from it when she took office, called it a factual progression of evolution. Wore a prinsenvlag pin and claimed it was to honour her ancestors who had fought the Spanish with Willem van Oranje - in 1568. Funny little detail about the prinsenvlag is that it's a the Dutch flag, but with the red band replaced by an orange one and was used by the NSB. Nationaal Socialistische Beweging. Those first two words might look familiar? It's the Dutch version of the Nazi party in WW2. And the flag is STILL used by neo nazis. Martin Bosma, current speaker of the house, also a big fan of the omvolkingstheorie, also has been seen in public wearing a prinsenvlag pin (supposedly to honour the Dutch VOC history - which was big in the slave trade... so you know, not sure if that's any better) Several other members of this party have worn this flag, it was displayed in the window of their headquarters until shit got too real and they took it down (and played the victim). None of these people have distanced themselves from all of this in ANY WAY since they took office. Geert hasn't told them to either. And they've been using the anti semitic violence in Amsterdam to push their anti- islam/anti Moroccans agenda - with success. Are these really the people you want to fight in your corner?
and also this.
Following the attack, the city announced a three-day ban on all demonstrations to maintain public order. Furthermore, the government had announced it would hold stricter border control until December 9. Hundreds of people defied the ban, which had been upheld by a local court earlier in the day. They chanted "Free Palestine" and "Shame on you" and called for an end to the war in Gaza.
The demonstration ban the city of Amsterdam has issued has been extended to tomorrow/Thursday, people have fought it in court because the right to demonstrate is in the constitution and taking that away as a form of punishment is certainly A Choice...
And the border controls are STARTING on December 9th (and will last six months), as a way for our fascist government to "stop mass illegal immigration" (which is not a thing) and stop the "immigration crisis" (which doesn't exist) but it has NOTHING to do with the violence around the football match.
And that last line of the article? Imagine considering people calling for an end of a war a bad thing...

Western media are reporting this as an unprovoked attack on the Israeli fans , when it was Maccabi holligans who were actually the ones who started the trouble .
Unsurprising !
The Israeli fans instigated the violence after arriving in the city and attacking Palestinian supporters before the match, an Amsterdam city council member said. "They began attacking houses of people in Amsterdam with Palestinian flags, so that’s actually where the violence started,” Councilman Jazie Veldhuyzen told Al Jazeera on Friday.

I mean. Israeli fans of Maccabi Tel Aviv land in Amsterdam with Mossad protection, jeer throughout the minute of silence for the victims of the flood in Valencia, Spain terrorize the city for two days, singing horrible chants like "Let the IDF win to fuck the Arabs" and "There are no schools left in Gaza because there are no children", beating up anyone who said anything to them or looked 'wrong', like a Moroccan taxi driver, and climbing up walls to rip down Palestine flags off private homes.
football fans who are so invested in their team that they're willing to fly to another continent to see a random match, are not likely to be the wokest of men

Football hooligans destroying flags and provoking the other side, because they want violence? Sadly expected and can be found all over Europe easily. Add to that the general atmosphere around anything that involves Israel and Palestine. Powder keg. And there are always agitators who want to be the spark. Which is terrible and I hate that. Also very little about what happened in Amsterdam was actually about the match itself. Shocker, I know that. Sorry that doesn't come across in a one sentence under 140 characters tag.
Let's look at what I said "the people contorting themselves to justify what just happened in Amsterdam..." Did I say it is wrong to look into the whole situation? (With investigations showing that there was some premeditated planning involved, so at least we can both-sides this thing. And not even Ajax fans, because this wasn't about football. This was very much Jews vs Muslims, less Maccabi vs Ajax.) Did I say there is one side that is 100% right and the other is 100% wrong? Did I say I agree with Israelis chanting their anti-arab slogans and provoking the pro-Palestine crowds?
What I am appalled by is the simple fact that we did see Jews chased down streets in a big European city and people come forth with explanations of why that is okay. The JUSTIFICATION of the violence that broke out (I don't agree with tearing down flags, but I agree less with stabbing people). There have been a few arrests made pre-game, including on the Maccabi side. Rightfully. Also to think only the bad hooligans who deserved it by their actions got beaten is my problem with the situation. That's what I mean when I say "contorting [...] to justify". I much prefer people like Melhem Asad, who helped to keep people safe and stood up against violence, than either celebrating the stupid bolsterous singing of disgusting genocidal songs or applauding hitting any perceived enemies in the face without even caring if they were actual agitators.
I see where you're coming from but I do think focusing in on the "jews" aspect of it all just gives validation to the idea that zionist speak for all jews or that any critisism towards them is antisemetic. You're also leaving out the fact that they assaulted a taxi driver on top of burning flags and singing songs about the slaughter of children.
I'm sure there were some folks who got hurt that weren't the ones inciting violence in the first place and that's a tragedy, but the people of Amsterdam were under no obligation to just lie down and take that shit and as the authorities failed to step in they took it into their own hands. Perhaps in the future the city will just do the smart thing and not host Isreali teams the same way they wouldn't host a Russian team

Football and baseball are both kind of hard for me to watch because there is soooo much stopping (and football is also hard for me to watch because they are constantly concussing themselves/each other even more than in roller derby where at least there are rules about trying to keep your head out of it). Like, more than half the time they are not even doing anything. Which can still be fun if you're watching in person because then you at least have the Being At The Game Experience. Like, I don't follow soccer but I still go to Thorns games sometimes just to bask in the glow of the loud lesbian audience (they chant and sing the whole time and everyone is waving pride flags no matter what month it is) and eat an overpriced but satisfying hot dog. But you would have to pay me money to pay actual attention to football or baseball on tv. And I am someone who voluntarily watches documentaries about people running ultramarathons (i.e. just running, walking, eating, and crying, sometimes for 24+ hours).

Right then here's ma thoughts on eurovision this year:
(i did not watch the semifinals, nor do i engage with esc at all before the final)
The brits very quickly just completely forgot they hadn't actually won the eurovision and decided to just honor themselves for the rest of the show...
I had never heard chanting in the esc like it was some football game
Last year we had subtitles on not-english songs why not this year too
was this year kind of a bit mediocre? There was no truly bad and the majority were just kinda meh generic?
So. Much. English. et tu ukraine
Anyways my absolute fave was Norway, i liked sweden (the woman can SING, tho she looks like my high school philosophy teacher)
Israel and Italy you can fuck right off
Portugal's juri gave our 12 points to australia and not spain which i'm sure is some kind of major diplomatic incident
I do not understand the public's obsession with finland ???? pls explain
and then
Croatia. carrying the spirit of eurovision on their backs uncontested. everything about that was fucking perfect. my mother was cry-laughing and i almost coughed out a lung in these 3min. it was fucking epic and Croatia is the saviour of this year esc for me
please for the love of our collective sanity remove the seeded status of the "big 5", and force the juries to be actually educated or renowned professionals in music
one more thing. once again i did not see a single palestinian flag around. and since the uk has moral panicked itself into 50sAmerica i don't think there was a single trans pride flag in sight either. what a disgrace

since the football/soccer world cup is happening soon (in qatar... Very Known for their Football Proclivity and Human Rights... anyway), do you have some headcanons and/or thots about Benny and Santi with someone who's into sports? not necessarily just football/soccer but also other sports like the American ones (can you tell I'm not? 😆) or motor sports etc - like have jerseys/shirts, other merch, know some stats, have a favorite player, etc level into sports :D thank you so much!
I feel like this post needs these photos of Oscar and Garrett watching tennis together 😂
I'm not sure why, but in my brain I always immediately like to imagine Benny as a hockey guy. Probably also because the idea of him on the ice in a uniform is just 🥵🥵🥵
So to build off of that, I love the idea of him dating someone who's very into a different sport, like soccer, because I feel like he'd do his best to try and get to know the rules while also constantly asking why nobody's beating the shit out of each other on the field 😂 (And if Benny makes too many comments about how he thinks soccer fans are so much more tame, they'd drag him to a World Cup game to prove to him exactly how passionate soccer fans can be. Benny ends up leaving the game with a jersey, a scarf, a flag, and he's got his arm thrown over their shoulder as he's drunkenly singing the team's chant over and over.)
OR Benny would totally end up with someone who loves American football, but their teams are rivals. During football season, they have ongoing bets where the loser has to wear the winner's team jersey all week.
-
As for Santiago, I feel like he's a baseball kind of guy. Maybe some American football thrown in there, too. But he's not quite as intense as Benny can get about his sports. And now I'm just imagining him being with someone who's super into F1, and he knows nothing about it. Frankie and Will have a very casual interest, so Santi starts drilling them for stats and asking who the best drivers are so he can try to at least somewhat impress his partner.
Alternatively, he'd definitely have the luck of dating someone whose American football team is Benny's favourite team as well. So they both just relentlessly gang up on him.

im sorry but i dont really understand your comment about the 'hamas hamas alle joden aan het gas; chant. this has nothing to do with any of the events, nor was it heard to be chanted or even reported. ajax fans would NEVER sing this, so it is incredibly unlikely that this chant was heard in the city of Amsterdam. I do not understand why it is mentioned here?
The information youre giving is extremely colored and incredibily harmful. pro palestinian protests generally do not use this chant, these are a handful of antiemitic rioters that disturb the entire situation, and these are the ones that attacked the maccabi supporters. it has to be mentioned peaceful protests have been going on on dam square and the police cracked down on them in extremely aggressive ways. these were illegal protests, yes but they were PEACEFUL.
the entire point is that amsterdam/the netherlands should have NEVER accepted to host this match, and the extreme hypocrisy of boycotting Russia but then letting Israhelli clubs enter the country without any problems is so blatant and painful.
mayor halsema even admitted to wanting to cancel the football match because the maccabi supporters were causing EXTREME distruption (and are generally known to be aggressive in the past), chanting about letting the IDF kill the arabs, tearing down flags, and as we all know by know, attacking a morrocan taxi driver etc. However, they did not cancel the match because the supporters were already here so they were literally scared tensions would rise from the side of the maccabi supporters..
we all have to admit that the violence against the maccabi supporters was wrong, and it was painful to watch these videos. but saying it was unprecedented and one sided, and painting the situation as completely coming out of nowhere is just plainly wrong.
i understand why you feel the need to mention that ajax is a jewish club but at the same time i do not see what difference it makes. the antimsemitic chants you mention are not related to any of the events that occurred.
Being a Dutch Jew, here is some information about the violence in Amsterdam that is either common knowledge in the Netherlands, or is from some sources in Dutch that might not be commonly available for an international audience.
First of all about hooliganism, Amsterdam's football club Ajax is known as a 'joodenclub', a 'jewclub', because Amsterdam used to have a large jewish minority, many of whom were supporters of the club, and because several Dutch Jews were members of the team at one point. Ajax supporters take pride in this name. Because of this, there is a good relationship between Ajax and Macabbi, and the match was considered at low risk for football related violence and supporters of both teams mixed freely on the train back to the city center. In fact, only a pro-palestine protest was moved away from the stadium, because the police had recieved information that 'harde kern' Ajax hooligans were planning to stop that demonstration.
On that note, I have seen mixed information on what the Macabbi supporters were singing, but regardless, because Ajax is known as a jewclub, a common chant among the fans of opposing Dutch teams is "Hamas, hamas, alle joden aan het gas," or "Hamas, hamas, all the jews to the gas." Yes, a chant heard at pro-palestine protest is originally from Dutch football. Authorities have been cracking down on it in recent years, but a cursory google found people being arrested over it as recently as may 2023. Somehow, jews have never attacked random supporters of opposing teams at matches where this was chanted. Any Dutch person trying to justify things would be well aware of this.
About media coverage, I get my news about Amsterdam from Het Parool, a left-of-center, Amsterdam-based newspaper, that grew out of a WWII resistance paper. This is the current (about 16:30 Dutch time) front page of the newspaper website. In it the violence is described as an 'antisemitische klopjacht' an antisemitic manhunt. Most articles about it are paywalled, but firefox screenreader mode can bypass it.
Finally, I recognised a lot of the terminology in intenational news coverage from yesterday's press conference by Mayor Halsema (the woman in the picture above), which was also shown live by the dutch public bradcaster. In it an AP reporter asks in Dutch about Macabbi provocations, and they partially quote the police chief's answer, but not Mayor Halsma who came in right after, and said that the violence was in no way justifiable. I'm linking the full YouTube video of the press conference below. It is mostly in Dutch, and I have no idea about the quality of the autotranslation, but at about the 30 min. mark an Al Jazeera reporter asks a similar question in English, and the Mayor's answer in English is very clear.

Watching the news and social media at the same time is now very bizarre
On social media you’ll see videos of Israeli football hooligans running around Amsterdam destroying Palestinian flags and attacking people while also running around in mobs with improvised blunt weapons (looked like planks but I’d have to look at it again) and singing chants wishing for Arab death
Then in the news and on every politicians page they’re calling it a pogrom and kristalnacht 2, disavowing anti semitism
Also the first thing I saw about it wasn’t even outside the arena, the maccabi fans were filmed not observing a minutes silence for the Valencia flood victims
#sky news posted coverage that was consistent with witness testimony and the brave 13 year old journalist who did live on the ground#reporting and then for some reason deleted it#this is the first time I’ve ever seen politicians side with football hooligans
