Hey thanks CrowdStrike for your latest update - my corporate laptop is now bricked!

The unofficial workaround to removing the faulty agent/probe only works if you:

A) Know your Bitlocker key (which corporate users usually don’t know)

B) Have a full administrators account that works in SafeMode - which 95% of corporate users don’t have.

If both are true, then you execute the following:

1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or WRE.

2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike

3. Locate and delete file matching "C-00000291*.sys"

4. Boot normally.

In episode 339 of Game Mess Decides, Jeff Grubb had the following to say on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf's possible/rumored release window [transcript]:

Question from chat: “Hi Jeff and Mike, when will Dragon Age 4 be shown and released?” Jeff: “Yeah, I mean, I expect it will probably pop up this summer. I don’t know when it’ll be shown is the real answer, that’s the, let’s get that out, I don’t know when it will be shown. I assume it will be shown sometime this summer. Could happen at any time though. It will be released this year [2024], last I heard. That is, and they’re pretty confident about that, doesn’t mean it’s a guarantee, could slip, but right now, internally, they expect to release it later this year, which is why I took it in Fantasy Critic”.

Does anyone know how to block One Particular Update in Windows 10? Microsoft and I have been in pitched battle for a week now where they WILL put an 'uPdAtE' on my computer that slows my five-year-old uber-powerful gaming machine down to a BRICK that takes THIRTY SECONDS to get off the lockscreen and makes my computer run like a jet engine. That's not even getting into trying to browse, and as for actually playing anything, forget it.

I have taken this update off four times. Every single time, they redownload it overnight, restart my computer (no I didn't need those open programs, why do you ask?) and install the !@#$%^&*() update. Looking online about "how to block One Update In Particular" returned only Official Microsoft Answers that "Um ackshually you can't" and I just straight up don't believe it, developers aren't letting this happen to their computers.

(I already know about "pause updates for blah blah blah" that's not what I want, I still want the rest, I just want this one SHOT IN THE HEAD THREE TIMES.)

hOW do I block this freaking update.

update: peach is doing very well!! she's eating and sleeping normally (sleeping more than normal, really, but that's to be expected)!! after 3 days of not sleeping and a few changes in painkillers, she finally just napped for an hr then, after another day, slept through the whole night (and most of the next day). she's started following all her usual routines again and is very keen to eat! still on some painkillers, but they're not having any horrific side effects anymore

now that im not staying up to keep an eye on her all night (while also dealing with upgrading my computer and my phone and also my sister preparing to go overseas and the dogs barking and howling constantly due to all of the above), i finally got some decent sleep too and slept for about 14 hrs. so today ive got that weird shakiness that i get from sleeping too much, but hey it's better than the whole of the last week

Because I've had a few people send me messages to the effect of "Charlie is predicted to come out between such-and-such date range!" even though I've clearly laid it out in previous posts and yesterday's tags, I'll put it here again for clarity: I will not be updating the number on my countdown posts until we have a confirmed release date. I only want to have to update it once because changing it multiple times will lead to confusion on everyone's part, and everyone (myself included) has wildly different speculations as to when Traum release is going to be.

i bought and set up a new laptop but i've been using the old one (fear of change, too busy to remember to take them time to transfer all my files and set up all my accounts on a new laptop)

but i think it's officially time because my old laptop that i'm still using says that it has 255% percent charge while plugged in. which is clearly not correct.
