After dinner, y/n was locked up, once again. She didn’t get it, if she was really supposed to be a princess, why would they lock her up like this? Aren’t princesses...princessy? 

She sulked in her room, missing her family and friends and life back in the village. If she had even gotten a chance to say goodbye, maybe she would have been less protestant.

Her moping was quickly interrupted by the sound of someone knocking on the door. She quickly got to her feet, expecting Jay, but she was greeted by the youngest prince. They both stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

“I thought you might want to go outside- so uh, I convinced Heeseung to allow me to let you out...I can show you around the castle?” He awkwardly stammered, resulting in a soft smile from y/n.

“Thank you, Riki. I appreciate it.” She lauded. Riki stepped aside, gesturing for her to come out of the bedroom and into the hallway.

He took her on a quick tour, showing her where everyone’s bedrooms were, the ballrooms, bathrooms, etc. But what truly caught her eye was the library. It was filled with vast amounts of books that she couldn’t even begin to fathom. She didn’t have too many books back at home, but she remembered reading them to her younger siblings to help the sleep.

“I take it you’re fond of reading?” He chuckled, to which she profusely nodded her head. “Well this library is free to use for you. I’m pretty sure the others don’t even know this exists, so if you ever feel like you need to be alone, I won’t bother you in here either.”

She just smiled at him. “Thanks again, Riki. I appreciate it, a lot.” He nodded in response as he walked out of the room, leaving her to read to her heart’s content. 

As she walked outside and explored the hallway, she was stopped by a voice. “What do you think you’re doing?” 

She turned around to see Sunghoon coming in, a coat on, snow covering his head. “Oh- I was just- I don’t know.” y/n admitted, realizing she had no excuse.

“Whatever. I’m not going to tattletale on you or whatever.”

y/n chuckled before studying his figure again. “You know, the snow suits you.”

He raised an eyebrow at her, taking off his coat and shaking off the remaining snow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means you’re an ice king. Hey, I like that name. You’re ice king now. Or, Ice prince? Since we know you aren’t getting the throne.” She teased, enjoying the distant flustered state he was in.

“That throne is mine! It’s my birthright!” He yelled out, clearly getting angrier by the minute.

“Birthright boohoo. Doesn’t the throne depend on whomever I marry? Don’t you go thinking that merely existing earns you the throne”

“Shut up. You’re literally a captive here.” He tried to calm down, but she kept on teasing him.

“That’s no way to talk to a princess, is it?”

“Princess? You’re barely a person.”

“Words of a true ice prince” He huffed before walking upstairs, worried he would do something irrational if he stayed with her any longer. She smiled knowing her affect on him.
