i will always always always say that be more chill is a very mediocre musical and horrible adaptation that completely misses every lesson and narrative choice in the original book and waters down any one it doesn't and the lyrics are really awkward and its flawed in pretty much every major avenue. that being said i think i deeply miss jeremy heere and michael mell... i miss being into bmc when i was because i think theyre always going to be comfort characters to me

I told my dad bmc was one of my favorite musicals today and he asked "why is that so?"

And after thinking for a few seconds I answered:

"I don't know. I literally don't know. I guess it's for it's characters (who I really relate to). Plus the songs are catchy".

Like yeah, I don't like bmc because it's this masterpiece of a musical that deserves 19472 awards and has peak music. I like it because it's silly and gooffy and it doesn't have to be a perfect musical for me to love it.

Is it flawed and overrated? Yes.

Did it help me put names to some emotions and help me navegante highschool experiences? Also yes.

It's not about whether it's a good musical or not, it's about it helping me grow.

I'm not even joking, many of the media I've consume has made me the person I am today.

For example, Gravity Falls and Steven Universe will always be the two shows that got me into fandom media back when I was a little kid. Be More Chill isn't any different.
