Another small hint as well to how deep this favoritism runs is when Andrew talks about his allowance. It's clear to us that Ashley doesn't have an allowance despite Andrew having and while they are 2 years apart I don't think that can fully explain Ashley's lack of it as well. Mrs. Graves clearly sees Ashley as not worthy of an allowance and therefore doesn't deserve one.

One thing that I really appreciate in this scene is Andrew's willingness to help cheer up his sister and to make her birthday at least a little less depressing. Ashley's "friends" never making time for her as well really cemented in her brain how much she needs Andrew as he was the only one that would even consider doing what he did for her. Ashley at the end of the flashback telling Andrew she wishes Andrew lost all of his friends and never found love wasn't some sort of manipulative tactic, but both a subconscious cry for help and her wishes to be with the only person that cares about her forever.

This whole sequence really puts into perspective Ashley's mindset and how harshly it was shaped from childhood. From an early age she was taught that nobody cares about her except her brother which is why she is so attached to him and willing to do anything to keep him around.

Part of this too gives us small hints to how also she became such a "problem child" to Mrs. Graves. Ashley, due to her neglect, probably wasn't punished ever, just ostracized and yelled at by her mom. Speaking from personal experience from my own childhood usually when a parent doesn't want to deal with a "problem child" they usually resort to tactics like making the older sibling pacify them instead not matter what the other was doing. However did Ashley ever really think of what she did wrong if her reward was getting time with Andrew? Of course not, however depressive thoughts can really be seen to manifest when she is alone as she doesn't have her Andy to help distract her from how isolated and hated she feels. This only rewarded her behavior and let other thoughts begin to take shape like how she dealt with Nina. A child doesn't just suddenly think to use someone's death as leverage to control another. It's learned. Thoughts like that spawn from maternal trauma and the action of "locking someone away until they learn to behave." is a natural extension of ostracization with how isolated Ashley felt, it's natural to start developing and agreeing with those feelings as natural progression to be with the one she loves most. Cherry Magic Episode 12

MY HEART IS FO FULL. This adaptation has exceeded my wildest expectations to become one of my favorite bls of all time. They really put their backs into it and gave us everything we could want for these characters, and I will always be grateful. This show managed to be a faithful manga adaptation, a loving homage to the jbl, and a fresh take on the story all at once. An amazing feat to pull off and this creative team deserves so much love and kudos.

The way Achi and Karan have grown together over the course of this show has been fantastic to witness. I love how seriously the show took their growth, and that we got to see them put in the work to improve their communication and become a great team. Meeting the parents was a big step for them, especially because they were uncertain how their respective families would react, but I loved that they were so open with each other throughout about how they were feeling. I loved, too, that we got a contrast, with Achi's mom being so warm and loving (but still managing to get a dig in on her son, lmao) and Karan's being more avoidant and passive aggressive and needing a talking to her from her eldest child to get her shit together. I love that the drama created space for things to not go perfectly with the parents, and to show us that people can be moved to acceptance.

We got a bit of a parallel with that message in Jinta and Min's story this week, with Min's fans initially attacking Jinta, but backing off once Min named him as his faen and asked them to respect his relationship. I like the choice to model positive fan behavior, and it felt a bit pointed from this production company. Both with Pai and now with this new group of fans, the show has said consistently that being a fan should be about love and support, not control. That you can admire your idols but you also need to give them privacy. That it's not your place to judge who they love. I just love that message.

Of course, I have to talk about the mutual proposal and the wedding. I am pretty sure Karan has been carrying that ring around in his pocket since the second day of dating, but it was such a welcome surprise to see that Achi had already made his own plans, too. The show really succeeded in taking this relationship from something that felt a little one-sided to a very mutual partnership I can believe in. I teared up when right along with Karan when Achi followed Karan's proposal with his own, and you could see how much it meant to him to know that Achi is really truly on the same page. Getting to see their wedding and the love surrounding them on their special day was the cherry (lol) on top of this fantastic love story. I also absolutely loved the wink to the jbl elevator non-kiss in the way they framed their final married couple kiss and then cut away from the bed.

Continuing the love fest, I also love the changes this version made to the side couple's story. Min getting to fulfill his dream, Jinta being an excellent supportive partner, their agreement that they will marry someday when they're ready--it was all just lovely. The nod to the jbl pen proposal was cute, and I love that they took it a step further by drawing rings on each other. The flip in the sexual relationships was also quite welcome, with that triumphant arc reserved for the main couple in this version. Jinta ended the show with his magical powers still intact, but it didn't seem like that would be the case for long.

As for Rock and Pai, I am happy with how the show handled their story. To the end, Pai stayed true to herself, and Rock came to know her better and understand what kind of romantic relationship he could reasonably expect from her. She will always have her head more on her ships than on her own love life, and he seems okay with it. I think you can still take an aroace read on this Pai if you choose, and I appreciate that the show made space for that. I like, too, that Pai helped Rock reconnect with his own passion for dancing and find a fun outlet for his creativity. They were another reinforcement of this show's overarching themes about the importance of kindness, support, and clear communication in relationships.

This show left me with such a warm feeling. I'm so glad they stuck the landing, that episode 8 never happened, and that we can rewatch and remember this Cherry Magic so fondly. I never expected Thailand to go so above and beyond the original live action drama, but they have undoubtedly delivered my favorite version of this story.

It was the first time ever I was genuinely upset at Eloise. Eloise knew about Cressida’s ordeal but still vilified her and abandon her like she was a side piece(ain’t far from the truth really). You can't remember the last time you were in a genuine flower shop.

Flowers to you have always been loving gifts, from friends, from family, and especially from your very contemplative husband beside you, despite the fact that you've told him time and time again that you have a black thumb and their wilting makes you sad. You haven't spent too much time thinking about where they come from, and just how many of the beautiful things exist, but today you're surrounded by them in all colors and shapes and sizes of bloom, and today, they're not for you but for your favorite niece.

"Camellias, right?" you ask, as Izuku pores over overflowing baskets of red, white , pink and yellow. He's moved further down the line, and you glide to follow him, resisting the urge to lay your head on his back or wrap your arms around his waist given that you are in public. Even if this is a quiet family-owned store in a somewhat remote location, prying eyes are taking in the sight of Japan's Number One in awe, believing that they are far more subtle than they are, and you don't feel like ending up in a tabloid and poring through pages of nosy, jealous netizen opinions.

Izuku scratches his chin as he appraises the flowers, and you catch a glimpse of the young florist's slightly anxious expression, distress contained in the tight clasp of her hands against her apron as she waits. She seems to look as though his choice will decide the fate of her business, and in some ways it is true, but either way Izuku would only praise the establishment, so it could only be a net positive. She doesn't know that, so you give her a reassuring smile.

"Everything is so beautiful, it's so hard to choose," you offer her in small talk. She lights up immediately.

"If you like the camellias, can I propose these? These are the finest bunch, freshly picked and one of the most popular colors this season."

Their exuberant yellow reminds you of sunshine and gold.

Izuku looks up at the both of you from his bent position, then asks you,

"Yellow is her favorite, right?"

You nod.

Yellow suits the young girl, even if she refuses to believe that she's sweet sunlight incarnate. Izuku nods and listens emphatically to the florist who, now out of her shell and into her comfort zone, is rattling off information about camellias and their care just as fast as Izuku can when he's in one of his talkative moods.

You check the time discreetly, and thankfully you have plenty of time before the 9 year old's ballet recital.

Izuku smiles as he finally settles on a bouquet of the prettiest yellow camellias you've ever seen.

"She'd love those!" you say, excited.

Izuku's grin is wide. "Now for a card."

You smile at him because his satisfied look is just too infectious, and stand on your tiptoes for a kiss on the cheek.

Your friend's eldest daughter looks every bit of the absolute angel she actually is. Graceful with every turn, you and Izuku and her divorced-but-clearly-still-in-love parents cannot take your eyes off of her, nor the rest of the auditorium.

You clap politely at every pause and intermission, hoping to see if she can see you waiting on her, watching her moment in the spotlight, and she does catch you for a split second in a turn, her cool grey eyes practically sparkling with delight.

By the time the recital is over, the group of you are standing and flowers litter the stage in congratulations. Ami runs into her father's arms and is swung around, a blur of tutu and ribbons, overwhelmed by joy and accomplishment. She receives another warm hug, forehead kiss and words of encouragement from her mother the moment she is set down, as she deserves, and you quickly add that she's incredible, and she hugs you too. Izuku is last, offering another bear hug and too many camellias for her slight arms to carry.

"You were the best up there," he whispers, bent at the waist. Her eyes widen, red creeping on her cheeks with her bashfulness. You giggle and bump your friend on the hip to catch her attention, and then both of you look in Ami and Izuku's direction and giggle.

"Do you think it's too late for me to learn ballet, Ami?" you ask, tentatively. "Would you teach me?"

"... Maybe... are you good at listening? I can be a little bossy but I am the best." she looks at Izuku as she proclaims this and he nods quickly with emphasis.

"The best of the best!" you repeat.

"The absolute best!" Natsuo says, giving her a high five.

"My very, very best girl," her mother says last, and Ami's smile is brighter than the sun, more beautiful than any yellow camellia.

Connors is physical touch. he both needs and gives physical touch. He needs to be close to you at all times, he can't help himself. When he's far from you, when he can't get get close to you, he starts to panic, he starts to get these terrible thoughts that you don't love him anymore. He was never hugged or really touched as a child, so in adulthood he's starved for it. His hands are always on you, wrapped around you, in your hands. Even when he can't touch you that way, he's close enough for your bodies to be touching. He just needs to be close. He needs it from you, too. He needs you to reciprocate his touches, his squeezes, his wants. Connor needs it to be known he's needed. If he has a partner who struggles with touch it makes him spiral. It's definitely something that needs to be talked through, that sometimes you just want your space and its nothing against him. Especially at night he gets needy, wanting to cuddle all night. If you roll away from him or if its too hot, he definitely feels a sense of rejection.

Kendalls is words of affirmation. His father and mother rarely told him they loved him, that he was a smart, bright, good person, really anything that pointed out anything positive. He both gives and receives this. Kendall is so affectionate with his words. He has all kinds of pet names for you, he reminds you that he loves you a thousand times a day, he'd keep saying it til he's blue in the face. He could go on forever about what he loves about you, what makes you so unique and beautiful and all these reasons why you're too good for him. He also expects it back. He needs to hear that you love him, what you love about him, that he's doing a good job, etc. Kendall is incredibly insecure. He lives inside his head and his thoughts can be viciously unkind. Having you there to remind him that he is capable of good, that he is deserving of love, that makes all the difference. If his partner isn't used to it or doesn't say what he needs to hear he gets insecure and in his head. He gets a lot of self-doubt.

Shivs is acts of service. Doing something that takes time and thought and energy makes her heart melt, it means you were thinking of her and what you could do to make her life easier. Growing up, no one ever did anything for her. Ever. She was expected to pick up the pieces. Her mother especially, could be ruthless when it came to small, kind acts. She always expected a grand gesture in return and that's not how it works. She both shows her love through this and feels loved by it. If you wash her favorite coffee mug so she can drink from it in the morning, replace the toothpaste, pick up the groceries she needed but totally forgot about, etc. Nothing grand, nothing thoughtless, just small and wanted. It makes her feel seen and heard and respected, all things she didn't feel as a child. She remembers the way you like your eggs and plugs in your phone when you fall asleep. It's how she shows that she cares when words fail her. If she's with someone who doesn't do this she feels like the invisible little girl she used to be. It absolutely kills her to feel unheard, unseen.

Romans is quality time. No one ever wanted to spend time with him growing up. He was mostly either lift by himself, like being shipped off to boarding school, or completely ignored when he was in the company of others. The best attention he got was when his father was abusing him and everyone let it happen. Whether it be sitting in the same room on your phones and watching tv or talking together in bed or going with pre-made plans, if it's with you, he's going to feel loved. He both expects this and shows it, giving you his undivided attention when you're around. That's what is important to him, that you're paying attention to him. If he doesn't feel seen, then the time you spend together means nothing. Even if you're both on your phones, it's a mutual thing. If you're on your phone and he's not, it could lead to hurt feelings. If that's not your love language, if you don't value it as much, it'll make him feel isolated and alone, the worst feelings for this type. It's definitely something that is vital to your relationship and the trust he has in it.

Reasons to watch Fire Country (besides Jared's guest star spot)

Okay I know we're all very excited about Jared guest starring in a few episodes of Fire Country. We love it when Jared gets work and him continuing to work with CBS is a great sign for the future of his career.

BUT

I don't want y'all to sleep on the rest of the show. I don't want y'all to dip in for those few episodes and dip back out again. I think Fire Country deserves better and I think you all, as the Walker family and fans of Jared, deserve a better viewing experience.

Now, with only 32 episodes of content thus far, Fire Country may not be a hard show for people to catch up on, especially with the DVD set for season 2 coming out next month and its recent arrival on Netflix. But it wouldn't be fair to the show (or to you) for me to tell you to catch up on it for context's sake alone. That's a great way to feel the urge to speed through "unimportant" moments or perhaps resent characters that you may otherwise like.

So, instead, I've crafted a list of reasons why you might like Fire Country regardless of Jared's involvement and I implore you to consider these reasons as season 3 edges closer (premiering October 18th!).

Reasons to Watch Fire Country on it's own Merits:

Bode Leone

Bode Leone, our main character, is quite possibly the best thing about the show. He's at the heart of everything and his story is as inspiring as it is heartbreaking. A victim of addiction, Bode struggles with his own vices and proving that he's grown past them, both to himself and the people around him. His struggle with his self worth is familiar to anyone that watched Supernatural and Max Theriot plays him beautifully. His journey for the last couple of seasons has been great to see and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future as he tries to maintain his quality of life.

Family Themes

Without getting too much into spoilers, one of my favorite things about Fire Country is the inherent themes of Family and Love. Family is explored in a variety of ways, from the central Leone family (and other biological families) to the general Cal Fire family to the family of people you chose for yourself. Each episode comes with its share of strife, but also its share of hope with the knowledge that our characters have people that love and support them, even in their darkest moments. That's the kind of show I like to see and I know people with Supernatural and Walker under their belts will love it too.

Firefighting action badassery

I know many of us fans of Jared and Walker love some good whump and badassery and there's plenty of that in Fire Country. Fighting a variety of fires, from chemical messes to out of control bonfires, leans itself to heroic rescues and more than a few injuries. There are abundant hospital scenes and more-or-less realistic recovery periods and I love it so so so so much. It just scratches the whump itch for me and I'm sure a lot of you will appreciate it too.

Freddy

Freddy was Bode's best friend in season 1, whether Bode wanted it or not, and his absolute positivity and sunshine immediately made him a favorite for me. But there was more to him than that, which quickly became apparent as we learned more about how he came to be at Three Rock in the first place and about his life outside of prison. An unfortunate victim of a racist system, Freddy left behind his girl and his future child, something that becomes a sore spot for him when his daughter his born and he can't be there. While he did leave at the end of season 1, we got to see him again in the season 2 finale and I literally shouted with glee when I saw him again. Give this show a chance for the loveable sidekick if nothing else.

Max Theriot

Max Theriot is an absolute blessing. You can tell in interviews about the show that he's passionate about the show and the fact that he pulled inspiration from his own life just makes it even more special. Not to mention he brings a genuineness to Bode's character that makes me feel for him, even when he does things that annoy me. And, like Jared, he wears pain very well. Just another reason to love the show <3

Sheriff Country

Sheriff Country, a spinoff based on an estranged Leone family member in the police department, got an excellent introduction in season 2 and has already been picked up for the 2025-26 season. Morena Baccarin is an amazing addition to the cast and her character has such a fascinating place in this tangled family web of public servants. I cannot wait to see where the story goes next and I think it's a story worth sticking around for. (Plus- more guest starring potential for Jared!)

Excellent DVDs

Okay maybe this is just a me thing but I love a good DVD set and the season 1 DVD set sported all 22 episodes, a gag reel, cast interviews AND a behind the scenes walkthrough of how they make the fire in the show, which I absolutely loved. I can only imagine the same amount of care will go into season 2, especially with the backdoor pilot episode for Sheriff Country included.

BE MY FAVORITE…IS MY FAVORITE

Hi! I've been hanging out on the cursed website for the last month or so because Be My Favorite has taken over my soul. I was excited to write meta posts about it here, but last month I started seeing shade about Krist in the BMF posts and tags and even my own asks, and it just made the atmosphere feel spiteful and hostile. I just want to enjoy my fun li'l time-travel show, so I've kept my distance from Tumblr. Twitter may be terrible (and not even called Twitter as of today) but the energy for BMF has been overwhelmingly positive and exciting over there, and man, I love being part of that energy. :')

Around episode eight, BMF soared to the top of my favorite series list, and I've rewatched every episode at least three times. This series is absolutely tailor-made for my heart.

I mean, episode nine had a whole conversation between Kawi and Pisaeng about Kawi not wanting to take advantage of Pisaeng's wealth and!!! I wrote a whole entire WinTeam fic about that???

I can't wait to see the last three episodes! Waa is such a phenomenal director and screenwriter, and there's an interview with him airing tomorrow that I really hope they'll have subtitles for. I'm actually going to Thailand for the final episode event, so I have, sincerely, no chill. I'm gonna go directly to GMMTV and get that turtle plush and when I take him home he's gonna sit on my bookshelf in a place of honor.

Kawi's my precious garbage raccoon child, Pisaeng is just as weird as he is, Max is without flaw, Pear deserves the world, Not can choke on a rock, and seeing the show unfold has been such a wildly euphoric experience. Krist and Gawin are phenomenal actors, their songs for the series are wonderful, and I'm just so absolutely proud of them for the care, hard work, and love they put into this series.

-- But it's really important for him to do the right thing and to not feel like he's being selfish in asking such a big commitment from you. He wants to make absolutely, positively certain that Cove would be ok with it, even though he'd be an adult himself at this point. And if it's single parent MC and you have a minor child/children, then dang, is he going to be cautious.

-- He is a tender little flower.

-- So maybe you'll have to propose to him. And if you did that, it would ruin him in the best way imaginable.

-- Still, it would be a conversation. You're both a little older with established separate lives. But yeah, you're probably going to have to take the reins here too. Maybe you're cuddling one night and the topic comes up.

-- Real quick, Cliff is a big time cuddler. It may be his favorite activity in the world. It'll be noon on a Saturday, you've got chores and errands that you've been working through, and he'll just smile at you and take your hand and take you to bed, just to hold you. He didn't grow up in a loving household, he was super young when he married Kyra, and then he thew himself into being a provider and stayed single for like ten years. So just the idea of having someone to just take the time to be close to like that, it's so nice.

-- Anyway, he loves the idea of marrying you, but it's scary too, because he did it before and he did not do it well. Like at all. You deserve the best, and his track record with marriage tells him that he is, to say the least, not the best. He also doesn't want you to think that he doesn't want to marry you.

-- Finally you're able to convince him that you're a grown-up and you can make your own decisions, he doesn't need to try to make this call on your behalf. You want to marry him, and the question is simply if that's what he wants as well. And it really, really is.

-- You are engaged! You can get him a ring, he would wear it except when he's doing activities, but he's definitely getting you one. If you don't intervene, it's going to be crazy expensive, so maybe keep an eye on it if that's not your thing.

-- He'll do whatever you want for the wedding. Something big, something small, a trip to the courthouse, a destination wedding. Whatever you want, that's what you'll get, as long as Cove can be there.

-- Cove is his best man. If you only want to have your own best man/person/person of honor/whatever, that will work, but if not he'll get Pam and Noelani and Kyra and Gregorio to stand with him.

-- During the ceremony, Cliff wouldn't be exactly as emotional as Cove was during his, but there are tears for sure. They're more steady tears though, not that emotional mess kind of crying (love you so much Cove feel your feelings), he's just smiling with tears coming down. He's so happy, he's never been happier in his entire life (besides Cove lol).

-- It's just wild too because it doesn't feel like it did when he got married the first time. Then he was a nervous kid trying to do what he thought was right. Now, he's a man who is so incredibly certain that he's tying himself to the person he's going to love for the rest of his life.

The first one I thought of that is probably most eager to wake me up with oral is satoru. He’s a tease that loves doing anything and everything to bring out every reaction out of me and he absolutely loves the way I react to him even unconsciously.

L is another bc he’s got a huge oral fixation and bc he barely sleeps, vs me who sleeps plenty, I’m often times asleep when he’s horny. So he thinks it’s the most efficient way to wake me up and simultaneously get me in the mood by eating me out.

Hi! I love your posts so much, thank you for sharing them with us! I saw you said that Amarius's stars are perfectly aligned with his position, would you mind sharing more on that? He's definitely one of my favorite rookies and I know he's got the talent to potentially go far with us! I do worry about injuries but he said in a recent interview that this latest one has taught him he needs to listen to his body more (just like Joe lol) so hopefully this is a good lesson for him!

but yes!! Amarius definitely has a chart i would point to and say, this is the man you need

he has an impressive stellium in Virgo (Mars, Mercury, and Sun, and honestly this stellium deserves a post on its own), but what really stands out in his chart to me is his Jupiter in Cancer! Jupiter is exalted here, so his Jupiter is operating at a higher level than most

take into account his sheer size, 6'7 and 340 lbs-- Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, and his stature is truly a reflection of this Jupiterian trait. but it's not just his size that's being impacted-- it's his instinct and talent to protect.

Ketu was born in the sign of Cancer, and Ketu rules that lizard part of the brain, the primal instinct, (things you just KNOW), and just how one of Jupiter's role in the solar system is to protect earth from asteroids and any other disturbance, his exalted Jupiter really helps him excel in his position as OT.

watching him in action gives the very essence of this placement (Jupiter in Cancer). there is ease and skill when it comes to protecting. Of course everyone is coachable, but his placement definitely finds ease in this position. And on top of his Virgo placements!! Virgo has been a favorite sign to see in those of running backs, it adds agility and quickness, so despite his size, his virgo placements paired with his exalted Jupiter is truly special.

some of my favorite 'mundane' examples of Jupiter in Cancer can be found in r/DadReflexes, which i feel is such a classic example of what the role of the father (Jupiter) plays in child rearing (cancer). but most examples in this sub you see the father just.. knowing how to cushion a fall, protect his child's head, etc. that is the quality Amarius brings to the offense.

and absolutely no one asked for this, but my other favorite 'mundane' example of Jupiter in Cancer in play, is found in Kendrick Lamar's DUCKWORTH. and the story about Ducky who slipped extra chicken and biscuits (food, Cancer) in Anthony's order when he slid through the drive thru in order to get on his good side, and not get robbed/shot. which arguably led to one of the most amazing deliveries and testaments to the role of the father in someone's life. "20 years later, them same strangers you make them meet again, inside recording studios where they're reaping their benefits":

imagine if kendrick's father didn't slip extra food all those years ago.. now kendrick is undeniably one of the most famous rappers alive. this is the result of a choice which easily reflects an exalted Jupiter.
