Derek doesn't meet Reid after the prison and all the trauma.
Spencer is colder, doesn't stim anymore, or ramble, or talk fast.
They meet, eventually, and Morgan goes "your strange. I miss the sound of your voice. Once I thought your rambling was kind of annoying. But I liked it. I miss it."

guilt.
regret.
pain.
fear.
spencer couldn't stop fiddling between as he rode with you in the back of the ambulance.
the guilt he felt as he realized that everything was his doing, his fault. if he wouldn't have froze and if he would've told you how he felt neither of you would be in this position.
the regret he had of never telling you how he felt. he never got to hold you as more than best friends and kiss you like he's wanted to so, so, so many times.
the pain of seeing you in so much pain. and the fear that worsened when you accepted the fact that you would die in his arms
the fear that the last time he held you was when you confessed your darkest secret to him. you never got to hear him tell you how much he truly loved you.
he took your much smaller hand in both of his and pressed it close to his chest, right on top of his heart as if he was trying to tell you what his heart had tried to make him.
he froze.
he shouldn't have froze.
he should've held you and told you how much he loved you. how much he wanted you. how much he's always wanted you.
he should've kissed you and never let you out of his sight. because maybe, just maybe, if he hadn't let you go then you would have never gotten hurt.
he was the reason you were dying.
he was lost in thought when the holter monitor held a steady, long beep. you had flatlined.
-
you felt the warmth radiating over your skin as you shifted in your position to sit up. you took in your surroundings.
you were in an endless pasture, filled with tall grass that would reach your knees if you had stood up. the sky was perfect, clear, baby blue color that you haven't seen in a while. you were laying on a red blanket with a picnic basket by your side.
the smell of fresh flowers and fresh grass filled your nose. the calming scent bringing you the peace that radiated around you as you observed further into this place.
you had on a flowy, pastel purple sun dress and a pair of white flats on. you turned your head to the side, only to notice you weren't alone.
"spencer!" you cheered excitedly as you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into your touch. "you're here," you breathed out.
"i am here," you felt the vibrations of his chuckle. "but you shouldn't be here."
you pulled back and looked at him confused. "wh-why not?"
"because," he pushed a strand of hair out of your face as he gazed into your eyes. "you need to go back, sweetheart."
a rush of memories flooded your brain.
you confessed your past, your regret, your love.
he didn't love you back.
you were shot.
"i... i don't want to go back," you admitted with furrowed brows. "i want to stay here. with you."
he looked at you with what seemed to be pity. he scooted closer to you and wrapped his arm around you to pull you closer to his body.
"you can be with me back there. you know that," he said as he rested his chin on the top of your head.
"no, i won't. not-" you took a deep breath, "not like this."
"but this isn't even real. i'm just a figment of your imagination. you're disassociating with your body, and i'm your safe place," he said nonchalantly, as if hearing that didn't break your heart even more.
"but i want to be with you, spence. i've ruined everything out there. you don't want me," you spilled, letting a tear slip past your eye and down your cheek.
"i will always want you, y/n. always," he assured you as he pressed a kiss to your hairline.
"how do you know?" you looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"because i'm a genius. remember, sweetheart?" he chuckled.
"promise me?" you said as you turned around and held his hand, squeezing it in anticipation.
"i promise. go back, y/n. you need to go back." he repeated.
"not yet. just a little longer with you, please. just a little longer with you," you pleaded.
-
spencer had to let go of your hand so the doctors could get the defibrillator. he began shaking before he told himself to be strong. he had to be strong for you.
"please don't leave me..." he prayed for the first time in a while to a god he wasn't even sure he believed in. "don't die on me."
one of the paramedics ripped your shirt open so they could begin to start the chest compressions. spencer hated seeing you so helpless, lifeless, hopeless.
"charge to 260!" one of the doctors yelled before yelling clear and connecting it to your skin.
nothing.
"charge to 350!" she pressed it to your chest and abdomen one more time.
suddenly the monitor began beeping steadily again. you were alive. not okay, but you were breathing.
you had a heartbeat again.
you weren't leaving him yet.
"oh thank god!" he exclaimed as he watched the paramedics leave your side, allowing him to fill their void. he took hold of your hand once again and pressed his lips to it as he watched the paramedic on the other side of you monitoring everything going on with your status.
"thank you, y/n. thank you so much," he placed another kiss on your knuckles as he used his to wipe his tears away.
when you had made it to the hospital he decided to finally call morgan and garcia. he would let them know what happened, minus the whole love confession part, and ask them to alert the rest of the team.
morgan replied in asking if she was okay, and asked for the details later when he got there. garcia was just rushing to get out of her apartment and to the hospital to check on her 'little cherry blossom.'
garcia got there first no doubt breaking a few speed limits in the process, but he didn't mind because now he wouldn't be alone with his own mind. she engulfed spencer in her arms and let him sob it out as she did the same. she didn't ask what happened, she knew he would tell her when he was ready.
morgan took a bit longer, surprisingly. although, in his defense, he did live on the other side of town. upon arrival, he just placed a firm hand on spencer's shoulder and sat beside him in a seat, silently providing his own comfort.
jj was next to arrive. she was already in tears when garcia had called her to make her aware of the news. she gave spencer a tight hug before sitting beside garcia.
when emily got there she raced to jj to ask if they had any information yet, they didn't. she checked on spencer, making sure he wasn't losing his mind completely. she finally settled down and sat beside jj, placing a comforting hand on top of hers.
rossi and hotch arrived at the same time, they were both working late, finishing a few extra case files. they went around comforting the rest of the team, and made sure to pay extra attention to spencer.
everyone knew how close the two of you were. you were like bonnie and clyde, but rather you both solved crime instead of ensuing it. and they knew how much it pained him to see her in pain. even on cases when she would get wounded, spencer would pay the utmost care and attention to you.
spencer didn't say a word. he didn't say what happened. nobody asked. they sat in silence, with almost constant tears from the fear of losing you, waiting for answers to how you were doing.
after a few more hours, jj decided to ask the doctor yet again on any updates on your condition. she quietly got up after letting go of emily's hand and walked over to the front desk.
"ma'am," jj asked the receptionist, "is there any update on y/n y/l/n and her surgery. it's been a few hours now and we're getting wo-"
"y/n y/l/n?" a doctor came into the waiting room holding a clipboard, waiting for someone to claim her company.
spencer jumped up from his seat when he heard her name. everyone had refrained from using in fear of striking something in spencer. they didn't want to upset him more than he already was, so they just kept their mouths shut.
"yes?" he excitedly asked, feeling the sweat in his hands and the exhaustion overwhelming his body.
"she's out of surgery now. she's in a stable condition, but there's some bad news," the doctor grimaced as the others waited expectantly for the rest of the news. "she had a prolonged period of time without oxygen to her brain, she's now in a coma. we aren't sure when she'll wake up," the doctor finally spewed out. "you can go visit her now. maybe one at a time so she can decipher who's who. she can hear what you say, so make it positive and encouraging," he concluded.
spencer looked back at the team, waiting for them to signal that he could go visit her before following the doctor to your room.
spencer walked inside and saw you lying there, lifeless while barely alive. and it was all his fault. you told him it wasn't his fault. in what you thought were your last moments, you wanted him to be at ease. while you were bleeding out from his stupidity, you still claimed your love that he never told you he returned.
and for that he would never forgive himself.
oh, what he would give to hear your laugh again. to see your smile, feel your touch, smell your hair once more. he wanted you back.
so he did the only thing he could do. he sat by your side and grabbed your hand for the millionth time and held it to his cheek, trying to feel your warmth.
"hi, y/n," he started off, deciding to give this whole 'encouragement' thing a try. "there are a lot of studies on whether or not someone can hear whilst their in a coma, but i'm going to try it anyway," he tool a deep breath.
"you're the strongest woman i know, and i meant it when i told you that earlier tonight. i know that you can get through this. i want you to know that i'll be here for you every step of the way. i promise. i-i'll take off every day until you wake up. i have to take a sabbatical anyway, so i can just ask them if i can take it early. if i can't then i'll make garcia come here every single day and i'll call her so you can hear my voice," the tears filled his eyes once again.
"i-i need you here with me, y/n. please," he begged for what felt like the millionth time that night.
"spence," jj called from the doorway. "would you mind if we all talked to her for a minute? then you can come back? i need to get back to my boys now that i know she's going to be okay," she said with a bit of guilt at the thought of her being able to go home.
home to her husband and children.
y/n has always wanted children. she'd be such an amazing wife, and an even better mother. spencer wanted the chance to witness her being a mother first hand, and maybe even being the mother to his own children.
he wanted to give her everything she's ever wanted. he wanted to stay with her until he was forced to have to leave.
truth be told, the day you walked into the bau, you changed his life forever and he didn't even know it. he thought it was just going to be another temporary fill in, until you performed so well at your job that the bau just had to hire you permanently.
you're so amazing at everything you do. everything you've ever done. you always push yourself to be and do your best, something spencer has grown to love and admire you for.
so he just hopes you have a reason to fight. a reason to fight for your life, to fight for him. he hopes that you have hope.
"yea, of course," he pressed his lips to your knuckles one more time before leaving the room, hugging jj on the way out.
garcia was right outside the door, waiting for spencer to come out so she could give him a hug. she wrapped her arms around his torso as his went around her shoulders.
"she's strong, spencer. she'll get through this," garcia tried to comfort him.
"you should've heard her. she-she sounded like she was ready to give up hen she was lying there, bleeding out on the ground," spencer pulled back to look at garcia. "i can't lose her. n-not now."
"you won't lose her," she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before he nodded to her and walked back into the waiting room, being met by emily's own embrace.
"i'm not gonna tell you how strong she is, because i think we all know that by now. but you can talk to me, reid. that's what you have to know. you can talk to any of us," she consoled before pulling back, her hands still gripping his shoulders tightly.
"sh-she told me she was in love with me," he said out loud for the first time.
"what?" emily's eyes widened at the realization before she pulled his hand to go into an empty room. "explain, please?"
"she told me she was in love with me," he repeated. "and i froze," he sighed.
"you froze? what do you mean? i thought you loved her too?" she pondered, a confused look clouding her face.
"how'd you know that? and yea, i do love her. i love her so much it hurts," he looked down at his feet. "i didn't say it back because i couldn't believe it was happening. i-i mean have you seen her? she's the definition of perfect and she said she loves me."
"oh, spencer," she said before giving him another hug, allowing him to break down in her arms.
"she walked out after that," he grimaced. "when i started walking back to my place that's when i heard the gunshot and called the ambulance. then i noticed it was her and i broke. it's my fault she was out there. if i would've told her how i felt she would've been in my arms and safe. instead, she's in a coma because i was too confused to say anything," he vented.
"it's not your fault, reid. you have to know that," she said before pulling back. "it's the guy who shot her's fault. not yours. you didn't pull the trigger."
"i might as well have. she doesn't know how i'm in love with her," spencer whined, feeling more hopeless than he did when he was kidnapped and drugged.
because at least then, he knew the team would be coming for him.
but he didn't know if you ever wanted to come back.
when you were lying there, dying, it was like you were saying goodbye as he held you in his lap. his hands, pants, and even shirt were covered in your blood.
he hadn't even noticed. he didn't care to notice. you were the only thing on his mind. everyone else knew he wouldn't leave without knowing your condition, so they didn't bother telling him to go clean up. emily noticed him eyeing his own appearance.
"go change. i'll call you if we have any updates. relax, please. she's not going to leave you," emily said before shooing him away to clean up.
spencer went to his place to change quickly and take a shower after morgan gave him his hoodie to wear on the drive there. meanwhile, emily walked out into the waiting room and took notice of morgan in his own worry.
"she'll fight. we know she will," emily confirmed as she walked to sit beside him.
"i know she will, but i'm also worried about the kid," morgan moved his head out of his hands as he looked at emily. "he told me how he was in love with her. and i'm willing to bet this has something to do with that. he's been through so much, he doesn't deserve to lose another person in his life."
"i know, you're right. he doesn't deserve this, nobody does, but he especially doesn't deserve this," emily said as she put her hand over his back, rubbing it soothingly.
"i'm gonna see if i can have my turn talking to y/n," he stood up and walked to your room, taking notice of jj still inside and penelope waiting patiently.
he wrapped his arms around garcia and let her cry as jj finished up inside before exiting and saying her goodbyes to everyone, allowing penelope to have her turn to talk with you.
showering helped spencer more than he thought it would. being covered in your blood was more frightening than he thought, so seeing his own skin on his hands was much easier for him.
he drove himself back to the hospital, wanting to avoid more prying eyes of cab drivers taking notice of his obvious grief and panic.
when he walked inside, hotch was inside your room with rossi, despite the 'one-person-at-a-time' rule. he knocked on the outside of the doorframe, alerting the two of his presence.
"kid. hey," rossi came up to greet him, giving him a quick hug before hotch did the same.
"reid, we know how close you two are, so just know that she's probably fighting to get back to you, the rest of us too, but especially you," hotch declared with a pity grin.
"i hope you're right," he glanced back in the room to look at you. "i really hope you're right."
spencer walked back into your room after the two older men left. he scooted the chair closer to your bed and held your hand. he crossed his arms on top of your bed, your hand still in his, and laid his head down on his arms.
he waited.
and waited.
and waited.
there was no progress.
he wanted you to come back to him. he wanted to feel your touch again and hear your laugh. he wanted to tell you how he felt. he just wanted you.
he was able to work at home on the few cases they received, and took his paperwork to your hospital room when he wasn't able to finish it as quickly as normal.
as the weeks went by, his hope began to dwindle, but his determination only grew. he was determined to be able to tell you how much he loved you while you were awake, so he refrained from spilling his guts while you were still unconscious.
he would read you books. your favorite books. the books you would ask him to read to you when you were feeling sad and wanted to hear his voice to calm you down.
he played your favorite songs. the songs you and him listened to on the way to work or to museums he would beg you to go to with him.
he even played chess with you. granted, he was more so playing himself acting as you. he would try to play whatever moves he felt you would play against him.
he cried with you. he cried for you to come back to him. he cried that you never stop fighting. he cried that he would get at least one more time to talk to you.
but one day the doctors noticed that you were able to breath on your own. they were able to take the tube out of your mouth and throat and nose. that was his hope. your strength was his hope.
he sped to the hospital that day, wanting to see you as soon as he could. it had been three weeks since the shooting, and he desperately needed the sight of your chest moving up and down voluntarily, a sign of your own breath breathing life into your body.
emily just nodded her head at him to go when he stormed into her office, she had received the same call seconds earlier.
when he came into your room, he as already in tears at the new progress. he brushed your hair out of your face and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"keep fighting, y/n/n. you're so close to coming back to me, to us, to the team. please keep going," he begged as he sat down by your side. "i got the call about you being able to breath on your own, and i ran into emily's office. she didn't even need to say anything, she knew it was you," he smiled momentarily.
"i can't wait to be able to hug you again, and feel your warmth again. i uhm, i never told you this, but we've kissed," he smiled at the memory. "it was that night you were drunk and told me about your parents. you had kissed me after i told you how beautiful and amazing you were, and how wrong your parents were. i kissed you back, too," he gently bit his lip at the confession. "i-i didn't tell you because... i shouldn't have kissed you back. god, i've always wanted to kiss you, but not when you were drunk and vulnerable. i felt like i took advantage of you, and i hated that i did that to you. so, i never told you," he frowned at the hidden secret.
"but please, please, please come back to me. please let me kiss you for real this time. let me tell you how i feel, and hold you forever and ever. please just don't leave me. i won't be able to take that, y/n. i know how selfish that is, but i can't live without you. these past few weeks without hearing your voice has been hell," he frowned.
he had called your phone every day since the shooting just to hear your voice on the voicemail. those 29 words have been one of the things he's loved listening to when he woke up. he'd never admit it, but you'd realize it once you checked your phone.
another thing he loved doing was look through his videos of you. in one particular video, maybe even his favorite, you had taken his phone and began recording him on it.
you knew he hated his own appearance, although you'd never understand why, so you secretly took his phone and began recording him.
"hey spence! can you come here?" you called as you were in the living room, waiting for him to bring you your chicken tandoori.
"yup! i'm coming!" he came racing out with the two boxes of takeout, giving you one as he sat on the couch. he didn't even notice the phone with how you placed it in your hands.
"thanks handsome," you teased, although you meant every word you said. his face automatically blushed at the compliment, but he rolled his eyes nonetheless.
"oh, shut it," he said before stuffing a piece of chicken in his mouth. you giggled at his reaction, his favorite sound in the world.
"never. i don't know why you think you aren't attractive. you're so beautiful, spence, i'm surprised you don't already have a special someone," you nudged him with your elbow, the phone now being rested against your thigh to get a perfect view of him. you could see the smile he tried to hide by biting his lip gently.
"but i guess that does mean i get to spend more time with you, so i won't object," you laughed out before finally taking a bite of the food.
spencer noticed the phone on your thigh after you took a bite, his eyes widening at what he realized you were doing.
"y/n! why were you recording me?!" he exclaimed, trying to grab the phone and succeeding. he turned the camera on to you as you began laughing loudly at his reaction. "what do you have to say for yourself, ma'am?" he questioned.
your smile was brighter than ever, your face red from all the laughing. you were wearing one of spencer's sweaters, your favorite one. you had taken a couple because 'they're cozier' than yours. you put your hands up in surrender.
"i guess you caught me, hot stuff," you laughed before he placed the phone down and began his tickle attack on you. "ahhh! spencerrrr! please!" you laughed out. "i surrender!" tears of laughter were streaming down your face.
"fine. i think you've paid your penance," he joked before grabbing the phone and turning the camera on only you once again, you blushing from the action. "y'know you're really beautiful, right?" you smiled widely at his confession, sensing the sincerity in his voice.
"thank you, spencer. so are you, truly beautiful," you smiled even wider before he finally turned the camera off.
he remembers that day like it was yesterday. he'd like to claim it was because of his eidetic memory, but it was also because of you.
you had gotten the weekend off and decided to spend it together, once again. you had stayed the night with him all weekend, you insisted on sleeping on the couch to which he objected, forcing you to take the bed with him.
you had woken up cuddled in each others arms, facing each other like you had been hugging the whole night. spencer felt the most content he had ever felt in that moment, never wanting to let you go or wake you, so he waited for you to wake up.
that was the best weekend he's had in a while. you two acted as if you were in a relationship, domestic. it was delightful.
there was another picture the two of you had taken after a rather successful case.
all the missing children were found safe, a rare occurrence, so you had gone out to a bar to celebrate. it was mostly emily, morgan, and garcia's doing, so you had all eventually agreed once you figured out they wouldn't back down.
you had known how spencer was at bars, he was sometimes rather uncomfortable with all of the people. it made him anxious and a bit intimidated. so after you had all met up at the bar and you noticed how nervous he was, you intertwined your arms and took his hand in yours.
"my mom used to do this thing when i was anxious or nervous to calm me down," you whispered, wrapping your other arm around his one as you squeezed his hand three times. "it's supposed to be our way of assuring the other. a way of saying i'm here," you explained before he squeezed four times in return, your brows furrowed. "what does that mean?"
"i-it could mean i'm glad you're here," he grinned as he noticed the smile that erupted on your face from his kind words.
and you didn't let go all night.
"please come back to me, i know you can. you're so strong, please just come back to me," spencer wailed. he felt your hand squeezing his as he held it, making his encouragement the entire reason you came back to him.
-
"spence, you're making a mess," you giggled, wiping the corner of his lip free of the chocolate you two were eating, still in that heavenly place.
"i'm sorry! it just tastes really good," he smiled back as he watched you lick the chocolate from your thumb.
"mm, you're right. it does taste really good," you nodded your head. "so i'm taking all of them!" you grabbed the box full of chocolate and began running. looking back to see spencer chasing after you, you bursted into a fit of laughter.
the tall grass tickled your legs slightly, the breeze lifting your dress a tiny bit as you continued to jog ahead of him, teasing him with your laughter. he finally caught up with you, taking you down with him as you both giggled.
“you got me, dork,” you laughed, pushing his shoulder lightly.
“of course i do! did you expect anything less?” he said arrogantly, you rolled your eyes.
“never from you, doctor,” you teased as he pulled you in closer to him, you nuzzled your face into his neck as he admired the view around him. suddenly he stood up, the chocolate box in hand, and began running.
“you little tease!” you shouted before getting up to chase him as he did you previously. “spencer reid, you’re so gonna get it!” you laughed out
"don’t leave me," he turned around to face you and called out, suddenly you felt a pang in your stomach where you had been stabbed.
you made eye contact with him, a look of shock and horror on your face as you tried to figure out what was wrong before you collapsed to the ground.
"sp-spencer? what's happening?" you asked as he pulled you into his lap.
"it's been two weeks y/n, i-i miss you." he began. "i know you're right here with me, but i miss your voice. and your laugh-"
"spencer i'm right here. i was just laughing with you," you tried to interrupt his monologue.
"and i miss the way your hair would crowd my face as we slept and how it would make me wake up. i miss hugging you and-"
"spencer please, i'm here," you cried, squeezing his hand as hard as you could to signify your presence.
"please come back to me, i know you can. you're so strong, please just come back to me."
-
"y/n! can you hear me?!" he exclaimed, you squeezed his hand once more, a little tighter than the last time. "oh my god! oh thank you so much, y/n," he cried as he kissed your knuckles once more, your fingers twitching in the process.
"doctor. we need the doctor!" he said as he pressed the nurse's button. "she's squeezing my hand. her fingers started twitching!" he said excitedly as the nurse entered, exiting to get the doctor.
you squeezed his hands three times, him returning with four times. you understood what he meant. his eyes were trained on your face and he saw as your lips twitched upwards in a smile.
the doctor came in to perform a few tests and forced him to release your hand. he asked you to squeeze his hand once more, you followed suit. the doctor noticed your nose twitching and neck beginning to turn.
"she's gaining control over her body again. this was predicted once we found out she could breath on her own, we just didn't think it'd happen this quickly. a recovery this soon after removing the tube is almost unprecedented," he said in awe of your strength.
"she's the strongest person i know. it's no surprise that she's recovering this fast," spencer said as he took hold of your hand again.
"indeed. she should regain full control over herself within a few hours or by overnight at this point. go easy on her, she's still recovering from being shot. i also need to observe the bullet hole on her stomach, but you could stay for that if you'd like." spencer nodded as the doctor raised the hospital gown.
there was deep bruising around the bullet hole and a scab over top. your stomach looked smaller than it had the last time he'd seen it, a result from you having to be fed through a tube. you were unbelievably pale, no surprise there either because of the lack of sunlight.
"it's healing nicely, the scab looks healthy and the bruising is getting better. she's a fighter, this one," he smiled at spencer.
"you have absolutely no idea," he said, not breaking his eyes from your beautiful face.
the doctor left swiftly after charting her vitals and giving her a shot of her vitamins. spencer sat back down in the chair and held your hand once again, waiting for you to fully wake up so you could once again be in each others' arms.
later that day, at around 11:50, your entire body began shifting. spencer sat up straight away, trying to held you in any way possible.
"that's it, y/n! come on, you can do it, y/n/n," he cheered you on, smiling so hard he felt his eyes prick with tears. you turned onto your side, towards spencer, and your eyes had began to twitch open.
"sp-spencer?" you questioned once your eyes were fully open.
"yea, yes. it's me. i'm here. i'm right here," he wrapped his arms around you, adjusting his grip after you grimaced from his tight hold. "i'm never leaving. i'm never letting you leave again," he ranted out, placing a hand on the back of your head as you wrapped the arm that didn't have an iv around his body, pushing your head to nuzzle into his neck.
"i'm so sorry. i never should've left you there," you cried into his arms.
"it's okay, y/n. it's not your fault at all," he soothed as his hand started stroking your hair gently. "i'm so glad you came back to me. thank you so much," he sighed as he gently placed a kiss on your head."
"you really think i would go that easily? i thought you knew me better than that, dumbo," you laughed out.
"i'm glad to see you still have that sense of humor in you," spencer scoffed, followed by a bright smile.
"oh that's not going anwhere, spencer. and neither am i."

Elements AU
Pre-hotchreid
Before reading, I want to say that this is the first work that I publish, and that it has more than a thousand words, also that my first language is not English and that I am sorry for any misspelling
you can know some more things about this au here
Fire and ice have always been considered polar opposites.
But people are wrong are not polar opposites. In fact they are quite close.
Aaron hotchner was born into an upper middle class family, his father was a renowned lawyer, and although his element was air, the man was cold as ice, with hurtful and icy words. And an even worse right hook. Aaron always believed that man should never have been a father.
Finally when Aaron was fourteen years old, the fury and helplessness that he felt towards his father for every blow and kick he received from him. He turned too much, a blast of fire breaking through from his forearms, with which he had been trying to cover himself from the blows. The flames burned his father's hand, Aaron opened his eyes, and saw his father grab his right hand, which was red and with what Aaron believed could be second and third degree burns, Aaron heard his father murmur a "bloody monster" Before leaving the room, at a hurried pace. Aaron got up feeling strangely good, the pain that he felt in his body did not matter to him, in return a sick feeling of satisfaction lodged in his chest, when he saw how his father had fled.
It was not until the next morning that Aaron finally understood how much things had changed after that night, The fire was not good, it was destructive, dangerous and unreliable, a week after what happened, Aaron was on his way to boarding school far from Virginia.
Over time, Aaron learned to never use or say the element of him, because then, people would walk away, just like all the people who had known.
The years passed and finally there are only ashes of that teenager fearful of his father, in return this Hotch is serious and stoic, who made his way through the court and the FBI as if he were a bullet, Hotch who only needed to snap his fingers to be able to create magnificent flames, but also very dangerous. Although Hotch has never used them. Because at the end of the day Hotch is just a forest fire, a forest that burns itself.
He hates it.
Spencer Reíd is the son of a literature teacher, who is also a paranoid schizophrenic. When Spencer was ten years old his father abandoned them, after that Spencer barely managed to earn enough money to keep him and his mother alive, and to buy some of his mother's expensive medications.
That coupled with the fact that Spencer was a Genius in a las vegas public school, just complicates everything.
Things got worse when the soccer team tried to strip him naked, and tie him to the goalpost. Spencer only remembered closing his eyes tightly and thinking that he wanted that to end no matter how, when he opened his eyes again, everything was covered in ice the football team with frost all over his body the rope in the captain's hand completely frozen. Spencer didn't think twice, she grabbed his shirt and bag and then ran out of the place.
Spencer had read all about the elements, he knew that the people who controlled the ice, along with the people who controlled the fire, were the minority in society. Spencer had learned the hard way, that people hated people with the element of ice. Ever since he awakened the element of him he had been accused of having no feelings, having little empathy and occasionally being a psychopath. Did people know that he misused the term?
Things really got better for Spencer, when he met Jason Gideon, and later he joined the FBI. In the FBI they were not obliged to tell the element of him, of course this was in the file of each agent, but you were not obliged to tell your element to another agent if you did not want to. Spencer really appreciated it, because the people of the water element avoided him like the plague when he found out that he controlled ice.
This was how he ended up creating a three-step plan so that no one would find out, number one, avoid physical contact, his body temperature could become below zero, it was practically a miracle that no frost formed on his body, number two, be careful with liquids, you still have problems so that they do not freeze when you touch them, and number three, never use your element.
And everything was going well he had friends, for the first time since college, of course he still missed Elle but he still has Gideon. But then the Hankel case happens.
Nothing is good anymore. Gideon left, he only left him a letter, but that does not prevent it from hurting less, the man abandoned him just like his father.
This in the bathroom he just injected dilaudid, he probably missed the dose because he does not feel his legs and everything is blurry.
He can't go on like this anymore. This will kill him, he doesn't want to die, not even at least. With shaky legs he got up off the ground. A single thought in his head.
He must get rid of the dilaudid.
The next seven days are like hell on earth.
When the worst of the withdrawal is over, Spencer forces herself to go back to work, she still had a few days off, but staying in his apartment hasn't helped her stop thinking about the dilaudid. His hands have a slight tremor, and his control over his element has diminished, causing him to freeze the odd thing in his path.
Spencer has probably been trying to complete this file for a little more than half an hour, she knows that Morgan and Prentiss have already noticed, but Spencer prefers to ignore the worried looks that they both give her, her eyes wander to the pencil in her hand, Note how the frost has completely spread over it, and is starting to do the same with the file.
Spencer quickly gets up from his desk, he can't allow that to continue happening, no matter how he just wants it to stop, he's fed up with not even being able to complete his paperwork, enters the bathrooms, and goes to the sink that you always use it, just touch it, it starts to fill with frost, you want it to stop, it doesn't matter how, you just want it to stop.
Reid had always intrigued Hotch. Since he met him, the young man had attracted him, there was something about Spencer, that caught Hotch's attention. At first Aaron worried that someone as young as Reid would see such bloody scenes, like the ones Aaron had seen over the years, soon Reid showed them that this was not a problem for him, and Aaron learned that while Reid could be extremely young, he was also extremely mature and contrary to many of the young agents if he respected orders.
The team had a no-profiling rule, Hotch knew that. Hell, he had been one of those who proposed her, but he couldn't help it he knew Reid was hiding something from them, he wanted to believe that he would tell them when he felt comfortable. Gideon wouldn't have pulled all those strings, if it was something dangerous.
It only took a hug for Hotch to notice. Reid had held him when they found him with Hankel, the way he felt the cold creep across his normally warm skin, a sensation he hadn't felt since he was a teenager.
It all fell into place slowly, how Reid looked nervous when someone tried to touch him, how Reid would look confused when Morgan tasted his coffee and complained that it was too sweet and icy.
After that he couldn't help but notice the details, every single thing Reid would do differently, to keep it a secret from him.
Then when he saw the young man get up from his desk and practically run to the bathrooms. Hotch worried, thought for a moment before getting up and heading to the bathrooms in search of Spencer.
When he opened the bathroom door, Aaron saw Spencer looking at himself in the mirror, firmly grasping the hand wash, the young man did not notice his presence at the moment, more concerned about how, the frost was expanding through the mirror and the hand wash, When Spencer finally noticed Aaron's presence, she was quick to hide her hands behind her back.
- I - I can explain it - the panic was noticeable in Reid.
- Spenc ...
- I know it's not normal, that's why I hide it, people don't usually trust people like me, I'll understand if you want me to transfer ...
- Spencer! - Hotch exclaimed again, to get the young man's attention.
Spencer finally forced himself to look at Hotch, he saw how his boss did not seem angry, the man extended his palm and from one moment to another small flames appeared in the lines of his fingers,
Spencer looked at him with surprise written on his face, he always believed that Hotch's element was earth or air, in addition to the fact that the chances, that two people, with some of the rarest elements, would work in the same place were extremely low. .
- I would never ask you to transfer, Spencer you are a fundamental part of this team, besides we would all miss you - Hotch said looking at the young man who was hugging himself - you don't know? He - he added belatedly, although he only received a small nod from Spencer.
Hotch made the flames disappear from his hand and took a step toward Spencer, bringing his hand closer to Spencer before quickly pulling it away.
- can I touch you? - Hotch asked, receiving another nod from Spencer, Hotch approached to wrap him in a hug.
"Maybe you don't think so right now, but you're important to all of us Spencer," Aaron said.
Spencer's arms wrapped Hotch in a soft hug. The fire hurt Spencer, and the ice made Hotch feel weak.
But it was worth it.
Hotch observed, as a slight smile, made its way across Spencer's face, who seemed to be much calmer.
Yes, it was definitely worth it.

For the challenge “Forbidden Love”
During a look SpencerxOCmale
Prompt. The teacher has to block the advances of an enthusiastic student.
Summary: After Aaron and Maeve, Spencer didn't expect to fall in love again until she meets a young student Ryan Evans and has to make a decision regarding her feelings.
Spencer Reid never thought that his gap year would be so interesting or that being a teacher would attract her attention, he had been teaching for 4 months and her health improved, she found a favorite student who answered all her questions and participated constantly it was Ryan Evans who had just turned He was 27 years old and beginning a career with the FBI.
That day he was in a classroom of the academy, finishing drinking his third cup of coffee and as always the youngest was the first to arrive giving him some cookies, sitting in the front row, for his age, Ryan was tall and muscular, like it is expected that it would be a special agent like Morgan or Aaron and the young man showed him his research of another subject where he was doing badly, Ryan purposely grabbed the pencil that Reid was going to choose making him blush, the professor shook his head and continued explaining the details of what was wrong, he didn't understand why he had those grades if the boy had to be smart to be there in the academy.
When suddenly the alarm sounds, it was a slight earthquake, but Ryan noticed a slight tremor in the teacher's hands, without thinking much, he covered him with his strong arms and they left the classroom to meet the rest of the teaching staff. and colleagues
Ryan smiled when he noticed that Reid didn't leave his side, somehow for Spencer the young man's strong arms reminded her of Aaron Hotchner but he shouldn't fall in love with his student and he was confused agreeing to meet JJ to talk.
The second encounter was at a nightclub, Reid went with his friends and it was Garcia who noticed the heavy gaze of the guy from the bar.
-do you know him? Invite him to sit down, answered animated Garcia.
"Garcia," Luke warned but saw Reid walk over to Ryan and accepted the other young man's glass of wine and agreed to sit with him.
-At the academy they are not going to believe this- Ryan commented when he introduced himself and Garcia, very animated, took a selfie with the young man as proof and they talked, the couple went to dance, the team except Luke saw how Reid could finally have fun and relax after what had happened to her, after the evening, Spencer walked Ryan home and allowed herself a weakness, to spend the night with her student, but the next day she regretted it and left Ryan with mixed feelings, He did not expect this result and gave him space, but he was surprised that in the middle of the week they met in the park, when he saw him he wanted to hug him but Spencer pushed him away.
-I think we shouldn't continue together- commented Reid
-Last night you said the opposite, or do you think you're better than us and you used me? Ryan asked annoyed, pushing Reid away when people passing by stared at them.
"Because it was a mistake and this shouldn't have happened, I don't want us to have problems" commented Spencer and Ryan thought that maybe she was right, annoyed he left the place and Reid hoped he could continue being professional when giving his subject, but not everything he always goes as planned and he had to suspend his sabbatical year to return to the UAC, in one case Emily was injured and her recovery would be delayed and everyone had reasons to refuse the position, Rossi did not return, he wanted to be boss and JJ had his kids, Spencer was the only option if they didn't want someone from the outside to come and destroy what they had done over the years.
When Ryan noticed Spencer's absence he thought it was his fault but then there were some rumors about Reid being the head of the BAU and he confirmed it when he saw a press conference, years later they met again when they were crossing the street and he began to raining, Ryan watched as Luke covered him with an umbrella to cross the street and they saw each other, at least Ryan watched him and smiled at each other and continued on their way, separated

Spencer woke up to a splitting headache. His eyes not being quite able to focus on his surroundings. He thinks back to the last thing he can remember.
He returned home after a week long case at 10:28 pm. He placed his bag on the couch, after slipping off his shoes by the door. He then went to his kitchen to get a drink. When he went to grab a cup something heavy hit the back of his head. Now he was here. Hands strapped down to either chair arm, ankles strapped to the legs. The chair was old and wooden, possibly he could break out of it, but he was still dizzy so he wouldn't be able to get far even if he did.
The room was pretty dark, the only light coming though a few small holes in the wall. The space was small, metal walls.
Ah, all this thinking hurt his head even more.
He didn't have to wait long before he heard a creak and saw more light stream in from the doors in front of him.
"Oh good, you're awake." The silhouetted man said as he walked in. His voice was a deeper pitch than Reid's and seemed to be filled with a genuine happiness. "Didn't want you out for too long." The man seemed to be meddling with something, setting something up possibly.
Reid decides to do what he was taught, profile, empathize. "What's your name?"
The man laughed "uh uh uh," he said as if telling a child no. "All in good time, Spencer." The man spat out the name as if it was distasteful. "That's what you are called now right? Spencer? Ha, pitiful." The man steps back from the structure he put up. He pokes the top of it and a red light turns on as he steps behind it adjusting where it points. Not another camera. The man steps out of the room a few times each time bringing something back with him. Two chairs, some cords, a briefcase. Once he's finally set up he walks over to Reid who has been trying to figure out where they are, who this man is, and what all the stuff is for.
"Now," he says with a smile, "we are going to talk to some friends of yours. You will answer some questions, honestly, if you lie or try to pull any tricks, there will be consequences. Okay?" Reid doesn't answer right away making the man go from smiling to enraged in a second. He smacks him hard across the face. "I said, OKAY?"
Reid nods quickly "okay, okay." He whispers out, voice cracking a bit.
The man smiles again "great!" His voice is happy again. He walks back over to the computer typing a few things in before cheerfully saying "and we're live!"
× Back at the BAU ×
Morgan and Emily were laughing when JJ walked up to them "Has anybody seen Reid? He's not picking up his phone." She seemed worried. Most of them had been concerned about this last case, it was so similar to the Tobais Hankle case most of the team had kept a close eye on Reid the whole time.
All she got was two 'no's and a few more worried faces. "He's never late." Emily stated. "Here, let me try calling him." Her call goes unanswered as well.
Morgan sighs, the worry lines increasing on his forehead "We should check on him. Maybe this last case affected him more than we thought." The girls nod. Morgan let's Hotch knows what's going on and he gives him permission to check out their young genius.
When he gets to Reid's appartment he feels a slight wave of unease. He knocks on the door just for it to creak open under the pressure of his knuckles. He draws his weapon, pushing open the door further. "Reid? You here kid?" Morgan scans the appartment. Reids shoes. Piles of books. Reids shoulder bag. An open fire escape window. A broken glass. Some blood. Shit. Morgan holsters his weapon and dials Hotch. "He's gone, there's a broken glass, some blood surrounding it, the fire escape window is open. Looks like he was taken, Hotch."
"Alright, I'll let the team know, I'll send Prentiss and Rossi out." Hotch explains.
Hotchner walks out of his office and calls out for his team to meet him in the conference room. They all file in soon after him. "Reid has gone missing. Morgan went to his house and may have found signs of a struggle. Prentiss, Rossi, I want you to-"
Garcia bursts into the room, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. "Sir, you need to come see this." The team follows their distressed tech analyst. She opens the door to her tech room as she starts to explain what happened. "S-sombody hacked me. A-and they put a video feed on my computer. And- just look!" They do and what they see shocks them to their core. It's Reid, tied to a chair, blood on his arm and a light welt on his cheek. "I'm trying to track it now but I'm comming up with nothing."
"Now we are going to play a little game." A voice says cheerfully from out of the scene. Spencer glares at something behind the camera, following it with his eyes. A figure steps into frame with a brief case. Hotch is already calling Morgan to come back, informing him on what is happening.
"So, Spencer," the man said the name like he was mocking it. "How has my boy been?" Emphasizing the word 'boy'.
Spencer looked confused. "I don't know who you are, how can I be your anything?" The man laughs slapping a hand on Reids shoulder, the team doesn't miss the flinch.
"Haha, yeah, I guess it has been a while, hasn't it?" The man stands. "Well allow me to reintroduce myself. I'm Francis." He does an exaggerated bow with a smirk. Spencer stiffens, eyes widening in fear. Spencer tries to push himself further away from the older man. "Ah, so you do remember me." The man looks amused. "You certainly look different from the last time I saw you." He caresses Reids cheek.
"Why are you doing this?" Reid bites back. "I left you behind eleven years ago! Why now?" Reid was getting angry, emotional.
The team watches shocked at their youngest member, they had never seem this side of him before.
"Oh Reid, you don't get to ask the questions here." He opens the suitcase pulling out a what looked like the end of a fishing rod, without the line loops. He harshly smacks Reid across the face, a gash appearing on his cheek. "But~ if you must know... you are not the first in this mission. I'm just trying to clean up the filth of the world." The mans voice gets darker, angrier as he continues. "Your kind has tainted our world and I need to clean you up! To remind you what you really are! Scum that are just FAKING FOR ATTENTION!" He hits Reid again. He grabs Reids face and points it at the camera. "Why don't you tell them what you are, what you've done."
Reid shakes his head. "No, please... no." Tears slip silently down his face. The rest of the team are tearing up as well. Morgan just walked in. "I-I can't."
Hotch takes his role as leader back. "Garcia," the colorful lady snaps her attention to him. "Find out if Reid has any past with a man named Francis. We need to find him before he hurts him anymore." Let's try to find out where he is, profile this Francis and find out his next move before he can make it." The team nods and starts to do what they do best.
"Admit your sins." Francis' voice has a dangerous tone. "Admit, repent, and be forgiven."
Spencer looks absolutely terrified. "A-admit what?"
He lashes the poor boy yet again. "Don't act like you don't know!" He quiets down. "Everything. How much you enjoyed that day on the post. What Mr. Wyatt did, and how you loved every second of it. What a special snowflake you are. Who I am to you." He gets closer to the crying boy. "Tell them everything."
Reid takes a breath, composing himself the best that he could. Then looks Francis in the eye. "This isn't about me, is it?" The older man looks taken a back. "This is about you. I remember you, your father. He was always such a mean man. You told me that. He was a strict Christian who believed that homosexuality was a disease, a sin. But he never knew you were bisexual. When he found out he must have been furious."
Francis starts to get agitated. "Shut up. You know nothing."
Reid gives a sad chuckle. "I know more than you think. You got caught. The next day you had me to prove to your dad you were exactly how he wanted you to be."
"Shut up."
"Really, a twelve year old? You couldn't find someone your own age? Was I just easier?" Spencer gets louder, expressing his own rage.
"I said SHUT UP!" He lashes Spencer again. He reached into the case and pulled out a needle. "I heard you really liked this stuff. Dilaudid, right?"
Reid panics seeing the needle. "No no no no. Please! No!" He watches as the plunger goes down. He slips into the oblivion.
"Spencer." His mother said. "What a wonderful name." The nine year old kid broke down as his mother pulled him into a hug. "You know I will always love you, you are the best son a mother could ask for."
"Thank you, I love you too." He squeaks out.
...
"You're WHAT?" His father shouted. Spencer takes a few steps back. "I will NOT raise such a FREAK in my house!"
"I'm sorry." He whispers curling into himself as his father looms over him. "I'm sorry."
His mother steps in before a swing can come. "Leave him alone!"
"Fine, you wanna raise a FREAK? I'm leaving!" And he walked out the door.
"I'm sorry, mom." She goes to comfort her son. "I'm so sorry."
"I'm sorry." Reid mumbles as he comes to. "I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for?" Francis asks as if he was genuinely curious.
"I-" Reid clears his throat. "I made my dad leave. It was my fault."
"How did you do that?" Same innocent tone in his voice.
"I told him. About me. Who I wanted to be. My mom was supportive, I thought he would be too." He stifles a sob.
"What else are you sorry about?" Francis asks, more deviously.
"The goal post." Reid looks up challengingly. "That's one you want to know right?" Francis stays quiet. Spencer looks to the ground as he recalls the memory. "A-after the football team was done with me, they left me. Standing there, tied up, naked. My geometry teacher got me down, but it came at a price. He-" Spencer paused biting back tears. "He wanted to have some fun with me too." He chokes back a sob turning to face Francis again. "Is that what you want?" He cried.
"Now tell them what you are." He says sauntering up to the broken agent. "Then I can free you before you commit another sin."
× BAU ×
Garcia hit the call button for the conference room, bubbling with anticipation. As soon as she heard the click she started letting out a rush of information. "Hotch, I found something about Francis."
"What did you find?" He asked, attention fully on her.
"Well, first his name is Francis Thompkins. Reid said he got rid of him eleven years ago so I went back. Reid would have been in high school. So I crossed everyone that went to a high school near where Reid lived with the name Francis. And I got a quite a few hits. But, when he said something about him being used, I looked into their histories and one had an accusation of sexual assault of a minor. A-a twelve year old. Who ended up dropping the charges." Garcia lost momentum towards the end. Everyone knew who the kid was.
"What about now a days? Businesses, house, anything in his name?" Hotch requests.
"Uh," Garcia types away on her keyboard. "Yes, yes. He works at a local restaurant, has a house and a storage unit in his name. Sending info to your phones now."
"Thanks Garcia." Hotch says as he hangs up. "Let's go." Everyone rushes out of the conference room, half going to the house and half to the storage unit.
× Reid ×
"No." He says firmly. "Not like this."
"Such a shame, I'll just have to send you to hell like the sinner you are then." He bends down to the briefcase one last time and pulls out a revolver. "And to think, you could have grown up to be beautiful, but you gave it all up." He stares at the gun as if looking at a loved one. "I really am going to miss you Sarah. You never did leave my mind, I was so happy to be your first, why not be your last?" His devilish smirk making Spencer go into a panic.
× BAU ×
"Yeah, Hotch we are almost at the storage unit." Morgan spoke weaving through traffic.
"We couldn't find anything at his house. His car is gone too." Hotchner states "Emily, JJ, and I are doing a sweep to see, if they aren't at the storage unit, where they might be headed."
"Alright, we'll call in if we find anything." Morgan hangs up as they enter the storage lot. They look around for the unit in Francis Thompkins name. A134. A red pickup is parked in front of it. They call Hotch and tell him that he's there before approaching the unit. The bottom of the door was left open. They can hear crying coming from inside.
"Please, just stop. Kill me. Please." They can hear their youngest member sobbing.
Morgan and Rossi carefully lift the unit door and prep their guns.
"FBI! Hands where I can see them!" Rossi shouts. Francis obliges. Putting his hands in the air. The gun was left by the case what he started to have his fun. "Stand up and turn around, slowly." He does, and when he's fully turned both men are disgusted. They realise what the man had been doing to their poor boy, who was bent over the chair hands and feet tied, pants pulled down. Both men try to control their anger. "On your knees, hands on your head." He does as he's told sending one last smirk to Reid, which finally breaks him as he starts to sob. Morgan helps Reid while Rossi cuffs Francis.
"I'll see you again one day Sarah." Francis cackles as he is dragged away by Rossi.
"I'm a boy." Reid mumbles. "Right?" He looks to Morgan.
"Yes, you are a boy. Always have been, always will be. No matter what that bastard says." He hugs the trembling kid. He quickly cuts the bonds on his wrists and ankles. Reid pulls up his pants. Morgan helps Spencer out of the storage unit and over towards the car.
Rossi meets them half way. "Police, ambulance, and the rest of the team are on their way." Spencer just nods. Morgan gently sets him down so he is leaning against the building. Before anyone knows what's happening Spencer is unconscious.
...
Spencer wakes to the sound of voices and beeping. He tries to open his eyes but it's so bright, he closes them again with a groan. He feels someone grab his arm. That gets his attention. He yanks his arm away, breathing erratic, eyes wide, trying to recognize who just grabbed him. "M-morgan?" He calms, settling back into the bed. "What happened?" He looks around the room noticing some of his other team member scattered about, not dating to move, as if they might spook him.
Aaron is the first to break the silence. "You had a mild concussion, and the drugs in your system were still in effect, so the doctors think, when the adrenaline wore off you crashed." Reid just nods at the information.
Reid looks down at his lap. "How much did you see?"
Morgan bites this bullet. "Almost everything, we didn't see the last few minutes, even Garcia turned it off, we knew you wouldn't want us to see you like that."
"I'm sorry." Tears start to well up in his eyes.
"Hey," Rossi makes his way toward the bed. "You have nothing to be sorry about." He rests a hand on the kids shoulder. Reid looks up meeting the mans kind gaze. "If anything we should be sorry for not finding you sooner." Reid pulls Rossi into a hug, grabbing Morgan too. JJ and Garcia walk in with coffee for everyone, and a jello for Spencer. He gives them both a hug and happily starts savoring his little gelatinous snack.
After a few minutes of banter and jokes Reid decides now or never. "Hey, I have something I need to tell you." The team's attention is focused on Reid in an instant. "It's about Francis, you deserve to know how I know him." The team stays quiet. "When I was in high school, I used to be a tutor.
"Hey, you must be that genius that's supposed to teach me history, right?" The older brunette boy says sitting across the table.
Reid adjusts his glasses. "Yeah, and you're Francis Thompkins, right?" The boy nods. "Alright, so first what subject is it and I need a time and place on where to meet you for your sessions."
The older boy slid closer to Reid. "Alright, American History, 1950-1980s important events and how about." He takes a piece of paper and a pen and scribbles his address on it putting it in Reids front pocket for him. "My place, at 5?" He leaves his hand there, it makes Reid uncomfortable so he scoots away.
"Sure, I'll see you at 5." Reid quickly gets up and walks away.
× 5:00 ×
Reid knocks on the door of the address he was given. Francis opens the door with a wide smile. "Alright, where should I put my stuff?" He asks walking in.
"My room is fine, follow me." He leads Reid to his room, filled with half naked ladies on posters, and bands. Reid places his bag by the end of the bed and bends to dig though it when he feels something pull on his jeans. He stands back up and notices the smirk plastered on Francis' face, something in his eyes he had never seen before.
"Then it was a blur, everything happened so fast. I couldn't stop him." Spencer held back his tears.
"Hey, it's not your fault." Morgan placed a hand on Reid's shoulder. He leaned into the larger man.
"I'm transgender." He says softly. No one says a thing. "It happened before I fully transitioned. Maybe if I told him I was a boy, he wouldn't have... if my dad didn't hate me and enroll me in the school with my dead name..."
"You can't blame yourself for someone else's sick actions." Aaron said firmly. "There will always be 'what if's."
Reid nods, "I guess you're right."
"We will always be here for you if you ever need anything, alright?" Morgan questions.
"Thank you. I love you guys." Reid mumbles, eyes becoming droopy.
"We love you too G-Man." Garcia smiles, as Reid drifts off to sleep.
They've got one hell of a road to recovery ahead of them, but what are families for?
