I’m just gonna say it, you talk so much about supporting fic writers but you only reblog and recommend fics from members of your writers clique and your friends. This isn’t meant to be hateful but please consider practicing what you preach.
I'm sorry? No hate here from my side too; but a) why is it that the moment I talk about how fanfic authors are struggling for feedback and validation on literally two posts it's “so much” for people to handle? And b) the fics I recommend here are only half the fics I recommend, I have a separate rec blog which if you'd gone through my page you'd know. Plus, yeah lol. Most of the sfw writers for skz are infact mutuals/friends with me (and I can guarantee you on that), and when I see their latest release, I quickly dive in to check their work. Does that mean I only read fanfic from my friends? No. Yes, I have authors who I read religiously and I happen to be friends with them too, but you can't tell me no one has that. There are still friends who i haven't read a single fic from. Does that mean they're not my, in your words, "friend of part of my writers clique"?
This is what I hate about vocalising this like to reblog issue. Creators are immediately hit for any of their actions and are "told to practice what they preach" even if they did so already. If you're talking about my bookshelf tag which you've gone through (or perhaps you just saw the first post and commented, I have no idea), most of the fics I've reblogged to there (and my rec account too actually), I've discovered these authors by searching the tags myself, I became friends with the authors after that. So I do understand what must've come off if you saw that and went “:O omg most of the stuff she's rbed are from moots”.
So if I were to go with your analogy, almost every fic I reblogged from someone would've been from my "friends or part of writers clique". But it's not. Look, idk about you, but I've discovered countless new authors by searching the tags myself from the time I've come here in the last six months and I have rbed every fic I read. It's not like I have some “bias” towards fics put out from my friends, though I do have people who I read religiously from. Know the difference, and next time please come off anon, because that'll make easy and a lot less nerve wracking for me because seeing something on anon often sparks anxiety for me. :)
