Now that Chord got adopted by the Ketsukane, can we have Clover getting adopted too? on a more serious note how does things go after that, especially if later when Clover comes around does Chujin start his legacy.
It was definitely a littttle shocking for Clover to walk into Oasis Valley, only to see one of the missing humans in the middle of town. Chord is ecstatic to see another human, and immediately begins introducing himself and Kanako to them. Kanako is also VERY excited to see another human.
Chord would probably start arguing with Martlet, calling her plan to take Clover to Asgore "dumb," since Asgore would kill Clover, and insisting they stay with him in Oasis Valley. Martlet would be against that, wanting Clover to go home, and Kanako would run to grab Ceroba to deescalate the situation.
Ceroba would offer Clover a place to stay while they figure out what to do, and Chujin would come home from work to see an extra human in his house.
He'd be hesitant, but willing to let Clover stay, since in this universe, he and Chord talked it out and he was able to see from their perspective, instead of having to come to his own conclusions about why Chord killed so many monsters. And since Clover hasnt gained any EXP, he'd be more trusting of them.
Hed have no interest in taking Clovers soul, as he hasnt even considered the possibility of turning regular monsters into boss monsters.
Ceroba would introduce Clover to Starlo, and he'd be thrilled to see another human, especially one whos dressed like a cowboy. Its worth noting that Chord and Starlo are very close, and Chord likes dressing up in cowboy wear. But hes definitely closer with his parents.
Clover and Starlo, however, are like two peas in a pod. Theyd grow close incredibly quickly, and Clover would end up making the decision to live with the Ketsukanes.
More info + sketches under the cut
Clover would quickly begin to see Ceroba, Chujin, and Starlo as parents, and Chord and Kanako as siblings. This is definitely one of the best outcomes Clover could've gotten, as they still become deputy of the Wild East (without any fighting, since Chujin and Chord would reign Starlo in), and get to live happily with their new parents and siblings.
First time Clover called Chujin "dad"
Starlo reacted more or less the same
Ceroba hasnt appeared yet in this au, so here she is! She loves Chord and Clover as much as she loves Kanako.
Chord and Clover both grew up with crappy moms, so Cerobas kindness shocks them. They pretend they're embarrassed, but Ceroba can see right through them.
And if people are interested, ill make a post about Floweys reaction to all of this!

Zenith Martlet might be my favorite video game boss but the fight is still absolutely devastating! Let me explain.
Throughout the pacifist route of Undertale Yellow (and neutral) Clover and Martlet form a very special bond, a bond with some maternal undertones. Hell, undertones is a stretch because at one point Martlet calls Clover her kiddo. So yeah, these bitches are found family and its great, I love them :). And while they may become separated at the end of the game, Martlet still cares very deeply for Clover.
Part of what makes their relationship bittersweet is how Clover is implied to have an unhappy homelife at best, and an abusive one at worst. Even before Flowey puts Clover on the alternative path, Clover wants to stay with Toriel. Its clear that Clover greatly desires a mother figure in their life, even before meeting Martlet. But once they do meet Martlet, she gets to act as their mother figure (and maybe also Ceroba but this ain't about her and even then the mother-child bond is stronger with Martlet and Clover) Even if for only a little bit, Clover finally gets a mother figure in their life.
And then we get to the genocide route. The once sweet Clover becomes corrupted by their twisted sense of """justice""" and seeks to eliminate all in their path. Not even Martlet can see the good in Clover. Her character arc about learning to trust and love a human despite Chujin's advice has gone the complete opposite direction. Now her arc is about Chujin's advice being Validated and seeking to stop the human threat. Clover has become so far gone that they are willing to pull a gun on Martlet, and Martlet's desire for humanity to be good has all but faded, and now she must put aside part of her good-natured self to stop Clover.
And thats whats so devastating, these two people who should have loved eachother, and been what the other needed, now want eachother dead. And to me, that is fucking heartbreaking.
Oh you thought I was done? Nope! I have one more thing about the Zenith fight I wanna point out, because from a story perspective, Martlet should have won.
Think about it, up to this point, the genocide route has been a story about evil prevailing. Clover has gone on an absolutel rampage, murdering innocent monsters left and right. But in the darkest hour the hero of the story, Martlet, gains incredible power to defeat the villian once and for all, to have good triumph over evil! A classic trope.
But thats not what happens, because this isn't a story about good triumphing over evil. The whole point of the genocide route is having Clover finally break free from fate but at the cost of literally everyone else and canon itself. The genocide route is a story of evil triumphing over good and plunging monsterkind into despair. So to have Martlet undergo a heroic transformation, to become the zenith of monsterkind, and still lose after everything all because this is isn't a story about heroes winning fucking devastates me.
I'm not sure if I managed to get my thoughts out in a intelligible manner but I hope you enjoyed my ramblings nonetheless, and who knows, maybe I helped you appreciate Zenith Martlet (and Martlet in general) some more!

Undertale ErroReality: Your "Best" Friend
SAVE DATA STARTED.
After awakening from being unconscious, Frisk uneasily got to her feet, looking around the area surrounding her. As she started walking, feet unsteady from the fall, she felt a peculiar thumping in her head. It sounded like... a conversation?
??????: So... you think us coming back like this is... because of this one's presence?
Frisk: Who's there?
She looked towards the arch leading deeper into the mountain, seeing what looked like two human children waiting there.
Chara: That's what I suggested earlier. Now, can you stop asking questions?
Clover: Er, right. Sorry.
They noticed Frisk looking at them strangely.
Chara: Ah! Looks like she can hear us.
Clover: Oh! Howdy!
Frisk: H-Have I gone insane? Am I seeing things?
Clover: Nah, don't worry. You're not insane. We're just incorporeal! You look like you've been out for a little while... Are you alright?
Frisk: Well, uh... getting there. Who are you two, anyway?
Clover: My name's Clover, pardner!
Chara: And me? Chara "Dreemurr". Now, with introductions out of the way, should we get moving? Someone up ahead should get you back to good health.
They both floated over to where Frisk was as she looked at them curiously.
Chara: So, erm... given we've got literally nothing better to do right now...
Clover: We'll accompany you! Consider us both your friendly advisors! Now, onwards!
Frisk nodded, walking through the arch into a dark room, where a certain lone flower with a face was. Hearing her footsteps, Flowey turned around to look at her.
(Music for this scene: Undertale Yellow - Howdy!)
Flowey: Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the flower! Hmm... You're pretty new to the Underground, ain't'cha? Golly, you must be so confused!
Clover: Oh! That's Flowey! I remember him!
Flowey: Someone ought to teach you how things work around here! I guess little ol' me will have to do. Ready, kid?
Frisk felt a red glow around her as she looked down, seeing a glowing heart encapsulated in red.
Frisk: Woah... What's this?
Flowey: Interesting, isn't it? See that heart? That is your soul, the very culmination of your being! It starts off weak down here, but can grow stronger if you gain a lot of LV. What does that stand for? LOVE, of course!
Frisk: Love?
Flowey: Yep! You want some, don't you? You look like you've been in a pickle. Don't worry! I'll share some with you!
He winked to Frisk as he formed five little floating seeds from the ground.
Flowey: Down here, LOVE is shared through little white 'friendliness pellets'! Ready? Move around and get as many as you can!
Frisk remembered what she was told earlier; "DO NOT TRUST THE FLOWER", and with this in mind, she stepped out of the way of the pellets as they landed on the ground.
Flowey: Er, hey, buddy? You missed 'em. Here! I've got a few more! Let's give it another go!
He sent five more Frisk's way, but once again, she stepped away from them, which was beginning to irritate him.
Flowey: Is- Is this a joke?! Are you braindead?! RUN. INTO. THE. BULL... I mean, friendliness pellets!
Frisk: No! Cut it out! Why are you so adamant on mentioning my soul?! It sounds to me like you're wanting to steal it.
Flowey's calmness quickly wore off as he realised Frisk somehow caught on.
Flowey: How did you-?!
Frisk: You literally just blew it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm getting out of here.
She began moving to the purple arch further ahead, but was quickly ensnared by some vines and immobilised.
(Music for this scene: Undertale - You Idiot)
Flowey: You know what's going on here, don't you? It's as if you've been here before!
She turned back in fear, seeing Flowey's face had become a lot more monstrous. Even Clover was shocked to see Flowey acting so evilly.
Flowey: Down here, there's one crucial rule - kill, or you'll be killed! Now, why would anyone like me pass up an opportunity like this?
He summoned many of his bullets to surround Frisk with.
Flowey: DIE!!!
She struggled in vain as the flower cackled at her plight and the bullets slowly closed in on her.
Frisk: HELP! SOMEBODY! ANYBODY! HELP!!!
Right as the bullets were about to make contact and kill her, a fireball shot in from the adjacent arch, not only burning the vines to ashes, but also catapulting Flowey right off the ground and out of sight. Frisk was tearing up from the pain, noticing a goat-like creature step into the room, right as Flowey returned to try and get at her again.
Toriel: Back away from this child, you miserable creature!
Flowey: Grr... fine! But mark my words, girl - you won't be getting far in this world!
He slinked away from sight as Toriel sighed.
(Music for this scene: Undertale - Fallen Down (Osirois Music Cover))
Toriel: What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth...
Frisk looked away glumly, which Toriel noticed.
Toriel: Hey... It's okay, young child. I'm not going to hurt you. I came to protect you from harm.
Frisk: P... Promise...?
Toriel: I promise.
She held out her hand, prompting Frisk to take it, feeling a mysterious energy resonating through her. After it subsided, she felt like her injuries were all gone.
Frisk: My aches and pains... they're... gone?
Toriel: Heh. The power of magic, young one. Oh! Where are my manners? I'm Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins. I pass through here daily to see if anyone has fallen down here, and to be honest, you're the first human to come down here in a long time. Say... what's your name?
Frisk: F... Frisk.
Toriel: It's lovely to meet you, Frisk.
Frisk softly smiled, happy to see someone not out for her blood.
Frisk: N-Nice to meet you too, Miss Toriel.
Toriel: Come along now! I'll help guide you through the catacombs.
The two started walking through, revealing an indoor building covered in purple blocks.
Clover: Flowey... Was that really Flowey?
Chara: You said you met him before?
Clover: I did, before I... you know. The Flowey I know wouldn't do something like THAT, right?
Chara: Are you certain? He looked pretty willing to kill Frisk.
Clover: He w-wouldn't? He was pretty apathetic, sure, but... he saved me several times! He even called me his... his...
Clover was left in denial, having never gotten to see Flowey's true nature. As Frisk stepped forward, she saw a glowing star in front of her.
Frisk: What's this?
She touched it, seeing a box reflecting where she was at that time, alongside her "LV" being at 1.
Frisk: Woah...
Toriel: You okay, Frisk?
Frisk: Ah, yeah! I'm ready!
Toriel: Splendid! Let's head on!
They headed into the Ruins, with Chara and Clover's ghosts trailing behind.

Obsessed with the way undertale yellow's neutral route boss fight (especially the first part) is like a really really fucked up reflection of undertale's true pacifist final boss, it's so fucking cool
In undertale's true pacifist, you're fighting for the entire underground (the entire world actually ig, as the name 'save the world' would imply). You're fighting an unstoppable god with a big imagination who's manifesting his own dreams and wishes into reality as you call out to the souls of everyone you've befriended on your journey to remind them of your friendship and kindness and the things they love about the world before doing your best to do the same for asriel/flowey, until he eventually stops fighting you.
Yellow's pacifist route doesn't really go out of its way to reward friendships (or even let you actively choose to put effort into them like the dates in undertale), so you don't really get any of that. But neutral still decides to give you segments with the bosses - but this time it's a haunting, a grim, twisted reminder of who you've killed, all just a part of the psychological torture flowey is inflicting. These COULD'VE been your friends, but no. You killed them. Much like Flowey in many runs, you wanted to see what would happen. His imagination is still as powerful, but he doesn't have the power to manifest any of that in the real world and he's seen no trace of chara to soften his edges (in his own twisted way ofc but still), so you get all the worst parts of him, all his fear and self-hate, as well as all the negative feelings about clover that he's been having to pretend weren't there in order to gain their trust and manipulate them.
It's the only route where Clover's soul doesn't shatter on defeat and while that's partially because flowey's already absorbed it and is just trying to pull it into his control properly on defeat, clover still finds the willpower to deflect this and stay strong, to keep fighting. It's basically the closest thing to 'but it refused' in this game and again, the fact that it's on neutral? Super super cool.
#idk how comprehensible this is but i wanted to get my thoughts out#there were parts of uty's pacifist that left me feeling kinda unsatisfied and disappointed in the payoff but neutral has me in a death grip#it's. SO FUCKING GOOD#honourable mention to the slowed down distorted bit of his theme at the end of just us btw#'just us' is the track that plays when flowey kills clover and absorbs their soul#uty spoilers#uty
