oh yeah today in lab i started pouring some of my undiluted analyte into the wash bottle of distilled water instead of the other way around, in case you wanted to know how present i was in the real world
#we arguably managed to salvage it but its results were consistently absolute fucking garbage#the way it was salvaged was by transferring everything to a Bigger volumetric flask#so that i could Also transfer all the contents of the tainted wash bottle in#and then i obviously washed out both the vmetric flask and the wash bottle out with more distilled water#to ensure absolute complete transfer of the analyte into the new volumetric flask#and since i had to dilute it again i just used proportionally less to make my solution for analysis#which then proceeded to have an r^2 value of over 600%. i ran the machine like five times today#and the lowest relative standard deviation i got was like 75% which is Bad#fortunately its sister solution (correctly made from the start) had a GREAT r^2 value of like 0.89%#the worm speaks#but yeah that solution was just so astoundingly garbage i don't know what went wrong#like my stock solution was in the larger vmetric flask so i had to empty that out#but then i did my standard 'wash it three times in distilled water' routine before putting in the new stuff#the readings were also super duper weird for reasons neither i nor my professor could figure out#so he said to just toss out that data
