also. Hm. tbh'es. the idea of putting such ridiculous standards for what someone who wasnt a bigot would actually do is kinda. extremely fucking awful for anyone struggling w moral ocd lol.
#believe it or not. fandom 'activism'* is a very small part of yk. activism. and isnt very indicative of your#morals at the very end of the day.#personal#edit: *by this i meant a type of 'activism' that was a lot more concerned w semantics than actual activism#of course activism trickles down to every aspect of your life!#i'm just saying that these semantic-defined activism aren't indicative of your genuine morals#and can often be harmful to activist movements#<- ie: spreading this simplified idea that absolutely anyone who has prefers male characters over female characters is a misogynst#obv it can definitely be indicative of some misogynstic beliefs (even if unintentional or small)#the thing is i know its simplified!! i highly doubt anyone genuinely thinks like that!!#but when you spread that simplified idea around so many young children who want to do good but don't exactly know better#will get wrapped up in the semantics of it!!!!#which leads to activist causes being watered down to a pass fail litmus test that isn't actually effective
