Honestly i love azrael,[name] and francis smm.I know [name] is self insert but i just love [name] smm rahh like when i had begin to draw arts for ya alot these past days if i am gonna be honest ngl
And i really wanna share my arts with ya but cannot bc i have to be at school for 12 hours☠️☠️😭😭🙏
Like i'm not in college or anything but this school has me dying💔
Btw i have some lore and headcanons to share with ya😈😈🫶
୧ ‧₊˚💫🎞 ⋅ ☆
So as far as we know [name] have to check the healthy and unhealthy one right?
So what if when she overworks too much and begin to become quite unhealthy it corrupt her?
Basically what i'm trying to say is that the sevens can get corrupted by the other meanings of their job.And [name] was the first to get corrupted.. And the corruption can be only healed by full rest and slumber sleep or the corrupted one have to seal the corruption away with a spell.
The reason [name] hides her other eye with her hair is bc her eye was quite corrupted so that's why she hides her other eye with her hair.
This corruption can just control or just destroy the one they are corrupting. But [name]'s corruption were trying to full strings on her body like trying to control but ofc she did the right thing but the corruption still wonders around her mind as when she is thinking the corruption will just annoy [name]
This oddly sounds like a frickinf mlp infection au help😭😭☠️☠️🙏
୧ ‧₊˚💫🎞 ⋅ ☆
Headcanons thehe:3
First of all francis would be often with azrael and will stuck with him for weeks.Francis supports [name] usual but in letters since he is in the earth with azrael.
I think how [name] shows affection and her love for the people she loves are gift-giving like after when lucifer fell she didn't liked giving physical touch such as hugs or kisses on cheek/forhead.She often buys expensive gifts or her beloved people's favorite stuff with letter or note inside.
Francis and azrael sometimes flirt and do couple stuff in front of [name] bc they wanna annoy her.And [name] kinda at first didn't care but as times went by she got annoyed alot. And one time she even like were gonna snap at the two
[Name] wears whatever she had seen in earth and kinda gives few of them to the sevens and francis, emily.
[Name] and micheal drink coffee alot expext [name] stopped bc it was ruining her mental health but micheal didn't stop☠️💔
[Name] and francis would ignore azrael as revenge for annoying them alot.Which azrael don't really like😜
୧ ‧₊˚💫🎞 ⋅ ☆
That's it for now😈🫶💗
I'm in class😭💔
Bye!<3
Have amazing day/evening/night<

I was actually thinking about the seven or the angels assigned on earth would eventually get corrupted by the sins or evil that is present there. Originally, I was thinking of their corruption like the one in noragami? When exposed to so much evil it would slowly corrupt them, making them sick and weird eyes would grow on their bodies of sorts and the few ways they can heal themselves are by cleansing themselves with holy water or if push comes to shove, like already borderline dangerous... Then a spell, a spell to separate the evil corrupting the angel. It has to be done by other angels as they need to lock the corrupted angel in a prison of sorts anddd forcefully separates the evil from the angel's body which could be very painful.
Also, yesss... Physical affections are one of her love languages and she often wears fashion that humans wear as she gets influenced by them and sometimes she gifts other of her close angel friends clothes too! [Y/n] and Michael often bonded over their need for coffee to function but she had to stop as it was making her go insane as she gets hyper lmao. Besides, she values her sleep. Poor girl just sleeps her problems away 😔
Trios never worked as she ends up being third wheel whenever Azrael and Francis flirts with one another 💀

Dungeon Meshi and endings. Spoilers under the cut.
I'm not replying to op directly because I think it's a perfectly valid opinion and they don't need to be bothered to engage in debate about it, but I just saw a post where someone said Dungeon Meshi's ending was too rushed, and it got me thinking, because this is one of the ONLY completed series I've read where I didn't feel that way. The ending is one of my least favorite parts of most stories, because even if it's good it so often feels too fast, and it was specifically one of the things that I really liked about DM. The action climax happens in CHAPTER 91. It takes SIX CHAPTERS (decently long ones, too) to go around and revisit all the main and secondary characters that need wrapping up. I felt like, for once in my life, I was actually able to go around and say goodbye to the characters I cared about at my own pace.
I wonder if it's different if you read it as it released rather than over the course of a few days? Still, though, I've read stuff as it released where I feel like six chapters of wrap-up would be welcome (cough cough noragami cough cough. although I know there was stuff going on with the author so I'm not mad about that one). Or maybe it's because Falin doesn't get brought back until the very last chapter. I suppose I could see how that would feel rushed. I really wish we'd gotten more than little glimpses of her in the main story because she's delightful and charming. However, I think the amount of screentime she got made sense for her role in the story, and now that I'm trying to unpack why I was happy with the ending, I think it's because the amount of time she got there was proportional to the amount of time we got to spend with her up to that point.
I've been thinking about what I need in a satisfying ending, and no matter how good the content is, I think I need it to take a certain amount of time/words/pages. I need to take some time to let it sink in that the story is over. I hate feeling like I've been unceremoniously booted from the simulation right as it was getting good. I want to see every character with any sort of character arc get it wrapped up in a satisfying way, if it hasn't been done already. I also need to know what the characters will be doing afterwards. Being able to see that in a scene is nice, but I'm also happy if enough information is provided to draw reasonable conclusions.
Yet Dungeon Meshi goes even further than that and keeps on tying in the main themes in the ending chapters. I feel like I could make a whole post about desire in Dungeon Meshi, but long story short, there's a clear line drawn between desire (which is very instinctual and primal) and the things the characters actually want. The ending reinforces this theme with the chapter where Izutsumi goes around to the main party members. I love that chapter because it simultaneously drives home a major theme and gives us a chance to see the characters honestly and earnestly talk about their aspirations.
I'm gonna stop there, but long story short, Dungeon Meshi good. Everything comes back in the ending. Hope wins. Love wins. Conflict on earth doesn't get fixed in an instant but we can all be better. We can all keep living.

Chapter 104 thoughts
I'm back from posting purgatory and have rewritten, more or less, what Tumblr deleted, so now it's time for my favorite game: Ina Tries To Figure Out What The Fuck Happened In The Latest Noragami Chapter. Spoilers under the cut.
So at the beginning we see trash dad cut himself free from Fujisaki and revert to his original form, while Fujisaki wakes up in Yukine's old house, far from home. I'm really interested to see how much he knows, which I said last time--whether he was aware he was being used or if he's basically been unconscious for the past year. I think he has to be aware on some level, because he knows Father's true name and has to invoke it to summon him from Yomi, but it would also be funny if he flies into a panic, follows the newly created lake, and ends up with the main cast. How far are they from the house, anyway?
Come to think of it, I've been reading Alive since last month (Adachitoka's first manga, which was written by their mentor while they drew the art) and while I'm not done yet, the north of Japan features prominently as a setting for that story and as the final showdown for this one. I'm not sure why, maybe they're from there, but it's interesting.
I'm so glad Yato slammed into trash dad after he insulted Mizuchi. It shows he does recognize her as a victim, and is willing to let things mend between them, since she's had her own character arc since Yato released her name. Don't get me wrong, that was still the right choice for him at the time--but they've both changed since then. And I always love the character development in this manga so this had me bouncing in my seat.
YATO ALSO SAYING HE'S NOTHING BUT A DEAD PERSON LIKE YESSSSSS GET HIM GET HIM KILL HIS MISERABLE ASS
Ahem. I wish Yato had been able to land at least one punch on this horrible man, but it's time for a shounen powerup.
Using the koto no ha on himself grants trash dad access to Izanami/Izanagi level powers, which I think is a temporary powerup that will end with Izanami taking him back to Yomi, because of how he can "feel her breath" on his neck. He plans to then escape again, and possess another body.
This new power is an ass pull as fast-moon put it, but it's also not the first of its kind in Noragami. Think back to Yukine getting cut in half and becoming a hafuri, Amaterasu appearing out of nowhere to give Hiyori the hint that saved Yato's life in Yomi, and how the main characters were saved from the covenant which provided the entire basis for the current arc (due to unresolved tensions between them and the rest of heaven). Basically, in Noragami these things happen with good reason and/or hugely impact the rest of the story, so I think it's best to wait and see how this trash dad development plays out before making judgments on how it affects the writing quality.
There's an old Noragami theory that Father is Izanagi, or stole his power, and it's been mostly dismissed in recent years (but there's an echodrops post about it here if you're interested in the points it made) and even more so since we got snippets of his backstory, but I think it's worth bringing back up now. Izanagi has been suspiciously absent from the manga, and I'm not sure he's even been mentioned, so I wonder if the koto no ha ties into that somehow. Honestly if Izanami killed him in this version of the story and used his power to make the koto no ha, good for her.
Anyway, trash dad reveals he's not just some human who came back from the dead. He can use these powers of creation; it's unclear whether he's used them before, but Yato has never seen him do so--Mizuchi seems to know what he's doing, but it's also unclear whether she's seen it either. I said years ago I don't think it was easy as him just returning from the dead and being granted godlike powers, but I haven't been insistent on it so much because I did a reread of the official translation two years ago and that version heavily implies the only thing trash dad did to get his powers was come back from the dead. I wonder how they'll reconcile that when this volume gets translated (please hold for another 2 years, lmfao).
Is this Izanagi's power, or Izanami's? Did he steal Izanagi's powers next after he paid Izanami a visit? Did he know what using the koto no ha on himself would do? Was it an educated guess based on Izanami's power? Is it still possible he could be a reincarnated Izanagi that believed himself to be human? I don't know if I'd like that last one, but these are the questions I hope to have answered.
Taking a brief detour to discuss that Kiun and Mayu have joined forces to look for their gods, and Ookuninushi is alive but has with him three freshly reincarnated gods--Yatagarasu, Kagutsuchi, and Shinatsuhiko. I'm shocked he lived and they died, but it may lead to an interesting change in heaven where he has to reconcile how they threw away their shinki lives even after they were explicitly told not to use them. The way heaven (and most gods) treat their shinki as not people but disposable tools has been a long-running theme of this manga, and it's been clear larger-scale changes need to be made.
So back to the main event, trash dad creates a biblical sort of flood, but one that brings images of the past. Alongside the tree where a young Yato named Sakura, we also see a cottage and a multi-level house. The cottage may be where Yato and Hiiro were raised, or it might be the one from the Father flashbacks: Check them out side by side:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(103-2; page 1 [Father and Kaya village]; 104, page 21; 45, page 33 [Yato, Hiiro, Father cottage] if you want to check for yourself)
Next, there's that multi-story building, which could be the place where Yato made his first kills, or Hiyori's grandmother's house. There isn't much visible, so it's hard to tell, but here's another side by side:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(46, page 9 [where Yato made his first kills]; 104, page 21; 85, page 42 [Hiyori's grandmother's house])
If this enchanted world functions similarly to Hiyori viewing Yato's past while he's asleep, Hiyori will get to experience trash dad's past as it really happened. I've mentioned before it bothers me how the gravekeeper has been narrating the events even though he wasn't present for any of them, so it's entirely likely Father manipulated the facts of his history, or they naturally changed over the course of a thousand years.
I also think Hiyori could find out trash dad's weak point, his true name, if/when she witnesses his past. She could then become his lifeline and decide to let the secret die with her. Or he could possess her, but I'm being optimistic.
The tree she sees is the tree where Yato named Sakura, but it could also have some significance to Father and Kaya; if the cottage where he raised Yato and Hiiro was in the same general location as that village, he could have some memories there.
So if we get Hiyori and Sakura interaction I will cry. If we get Hiyori and Kaya interaction I will also cry.
Next few chapters I'm really excited to see where this enchanted lake dimension thing goes. Yukine could also be caught up in it, depending on how far it has spread, and it'll be interesting to see how Amaterasu reacts to it too.
I don't normally say this, but reblogs are appreciated. This post required a lot of skimming older chapters to tie my thoughts together, and my original draft got half erased when I was just finishing it up so I had to rewrite a lot of it. Plus it seems like everyone was pretty confused by the events of this chapter, so a reblog would help to spread it around and hopefully shed some light on the events. Thanks!

🌸 Teen Audiences
🌸 1k Words
🌸 For the @noragamizines!
It was almost eerie how beautiful the sight that greeted him was.
Serene and secluded mountain terrains that were undoubtedly explored by many others before him, yet none would've imagined that they were strolling right past a corpse. A twisted joke was displayed in front of the blond with the appearance of tranquil flora, which surrounded something that didn't quite belong.
A broken refrigerator— Haruki's gravesite.
Hello everyone! Alice here! ^^
Another project I was helping cook up this year was the Noragami Finale Zine! I was assigned to write a story for the Ooharai Arc (aka where my boy Yukine just goes back to his rebel roots), and I'm honestly quite happy with how it turned out~
Noragami was the first series that truly got me into anime, and that's why it will always hold a special place in my heart!
Tumblr media
“I believe our mother was intercepting the letters, and maybe even sending them back, too…” Yuka spoke barely above a whisper, her eyes never leaving the crinkly old envelopes that lay in the box in front of her.
Haruki could only stare in disbelief at the words that left his sister's mouth. Their mother couldn't have possibly done that, could she? During his entire childhood, the woman had been nothing but kind and supportive to them both, her only flaw ever being how forgiving she was of their father's actions. Yet the blond couldn't bring himself to blame her for leaving him with that monster, even if he wanted to.
But if what Yuka said was true, he didn't know what to feel anymore.
“Not even she wanted you. Nobody wanted you.” The voice in his head whispered those ugly words as it'd been doing so recently, but Haruki did his best to ignore them. They weren't true after all, since he knew for a fact that his sister loved him. Even if no one else did.
“I knew what he was doing to Haruki, yet I never mustered the courage to actually go see him.” His sister's voice wavered as silent tears began rolling down her cheeks. “I was worried he would hate me for abandoning him, so I never stopped apologizing in my letters, hoping that one day he'd come see me so we could work things out…”
“I did come!” The blond couldn't bear hearing her say these things. Lies that she fabricated in her mind out of guilt. “I could never hate you! I'm right here, Yuka!”
In that instant however, reality came crashing down on him when the young girl from his memories turned into an older woman, features still the same, but laced with the inevitable grip of mortality. Wrinkles appeared on her forehead as she forced a smile. “But he never did. That means Haruki's dead, isn't he?”
“You worthless brat… wanting to leave me too, huh? After all I've done for you!”
Hiyori placed a hand on top of Yuka's in a matter of reassurance, but at this point everything they were saying was white noise to Haruki's ears. His breathing became raggedy and agitated, despite the fact that his lungs didn't require any air. Not anymore.
“That bitch don't care about you! Nobody does! Why you think she took your sister instead o' you?!”
Images of his father began seeping into his mind uninvited, and it all immediately prompted him to leave the house and travel to another location that at some point his mind had started to forget. He didn't want to believe it—he really didn't—so he had to see it for himself. He wouldn't believe it otherwise.
It was almost eerie how beautiful the sight that greeted him was. Serene and secluded mountain terrains that were undoubtedly explored by many others before him, yet none would've imagined that they were strolling right past a corpse. A twisted joke was displayed in front of the blond with the appearance of tranquil flora, which surrounded something that didn't quite belong: A broken refrigerator.
Haruki's gravesite.
“You dying ain't my fault. It's divine punishment…”
Shivers ran up his spine as his knees gave up on him, causing him to collapse as he stared at the open makeshift casket. The place he took his final breath as he kept begging for an explanation, for mercy, for anything. But the eyes that looked down on him held nothing but pure unadulterated hatred.
“See ya, Haruki.”
“I'm dead…” Haruki's voice quivered with silent tears staining his clothes. Memories flooded back in a rush, and it was all too overwhelming as he gripped at the grass below his feet. “I-I'm actually dead. I don't belong anywhere—”
Suddenly something bumped against his palm from the inside of his pocket, slightly bringing him out of his dismay. After searching into his coat, the blond was surprised by what he'd discovered, eyeing it with curiosity. The wooden omamori was rough against his fingers since it was most definitely carved by hand, and the discarded yet familiar name written on it brought a warmth to his nonexistent beating heart.
Haruki had received it from Yato a long time ago—a memory from a life that didn't seem his own despite having become a Blessed Vessel in order to protect it. The feelings of jealousy and rage that consumed him back then seemed inconsequential now, while holding a physical reminder of the people he'd left behind in search of his truth.
Haruki had simply thrown them all away.
“How will they ever forgive me?” The reality of the situation was beginning to dawn on him as if he didn't have enough to deal with already. His betrayal, joining forces with Father, fighting those he swore he'd protect with everything he had. “Dad was right… nobody could ever love someone like me…”
“Yukine!”
The voice calling out eventually reached him, making Haruki realize that at some point his physical form left the battlefield to come to this place. Tentative steps could be heard rustling the grass, but the blond didn't have to look up to know who it was.
“Yukine Are you okay?” It was a silly question, but laced with so much worry that Haruki couldn't help but lift his gaze to look into those familiar blue orbs. They held nothing but concern, which was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Yukine launched himself into the man's arms, sobbing and burying his nose into the scent of sweat that he missed so much. His entire body was shaking. “I-I'm sorry… I'm so sorry!”
Yato held him close with tears of his own flowing onto the blond's cheek. “It's okay Yukine… It's all going to be okay.”
Yukine didn't know what the future held. Fate was messy, convoluted and not always fair. But there was one thing he knew for certain—he'd never have to go at it alone.
Never again.

16, 17 and 18 for the asks plss! :3
Ask links on pinned post.
Thank you for asking, Bismuth! ^^
16) Do you have a method for getting characters to sound/feel in character?
Nothing in particular. It helps if I reread some previous stuff in that same POV, but in the case that I don't have that yet, I just wait for the muse to hit me with something. I know that might not sound all too amazing or anything. All I can say is that when I write, it's like my mind transports over to their mind and I start seeing the story unfold through their eyes. I notice things they'd notice, even if I wouldn't have paid enough attention in my own shoes. In the case of Gakushuu with Magic Shuu, he has a much higher vocabulary than me and I'll often, very often, get to a point where I know there's a better word for something, but I don't myself know what it is, so I have to research it. Searching for synonyms is the most common thing I do when writing Magic Shuu. I wish I had some better, easier to practice and apply answer, but I don't. Just when I'm them, I write, and if I can't "tune into them", I can't.
Also, it has happened a lot with Nagisa and Karma initially that I accidentally tune into Deshi or Stag respectively. Usually I'm able to catch it, but it's another one of the many reasons that I worry if I've portrayed the character correctly. What I'm really asking is "I didn't accidentally tune into Deshi instead of Nagisa, did I?"
17) Do you have any wips that you can tell us about? What are you most excited for in you wip?
There's two actually, and I'm excited for them because they relate to my original story Krystar. First, there's a crossover between Krystar and Angel Beats meant to take place between the Fragment series and the Echo series. Then, there's another crossover between Krystar and Noragami, set to take place during my final book (number 12) which takes place after book 5 of the Echo series (book 11 overall). Let's just say it ties the stories together quite nicely and only active readers of both my original story and fanfiction will be able to appreciate the connections. There's technically a call out in the Krystar/Noragami story in the final book Reign of Mynt, but I have a "variable" that explains it away without anyone being the wiser. Except my fanfic readers. 😏
18) What's the most obscure thing you've researched for a fic?
That's a really hard one. I've done a lot of research on a lot of strange things, but I can't remember the obscure ones, so instead, here are all the strange ones I remember.
Students of Despair: exactly how long it takes for a body to decompose as well as how to obscure the time of death.
Krystar: how long it takes for a pool of blood to dry given certain conditions, and what happens while it does.
Krystar: how jeans were made. This is why they don't exist on Thera. Jeans were made because some dude got sick of his pants tearing so quickly and easily because buying more clothes at the time was inconvenient and you could only mend the same spots over and over again so many times. Like the potato chip (except thicker instead of thinner), it was actually an act of defiance to use double or triple the amount of fabric than normal and they ended up being sturdier that way. That's why they were originally the "worker's pants" and a lot of laborers still wear them now. (Ex: carpenters, mechanics, construction workers, etc.)
Kristmas Karma: the weather and how common/uncommon it is to snow in Japan. You'd be surprised at how little you know about another place's weather until you check.
Life in Retail: shelf life of sushi. It's 2-3 days by the way. And yes, I didn't know, because like a lot of people where I'm from, more than 6 hours is questionable. 🤔
Phoenix: how hard it is to DIY a wig/doll hair out of real hair. And it's hard. Major props to Akari. 👏
Misfortune: how long it takes for the money to grow in an investment and how the government would be able to cease control of it if the person died. I just needed to make sure it was possible.
And that's all I can think of for now. 😊 Thanks again for the ask! Have a great day everyone!

Hi, how are you doing? I hope everything's going well with your finals :). There is a second season of blue exorcist asdhjkl how didn't I know this?? And noragami too? I don't really watch a lot of anime so I'm lowkey excited rn that you like the same ones haha. And yes I like chopin a lot in general but the variations are really nice in their own way ^^. Also have you heard of ólafur arnalds? I discovered him like an hour ago and his music is so beautiful and enthralling! [1]
Finals are killing me rn and I’m looking forward so much to the semester break, I can’t wait for january to pass already ;_;. I just booked plane tickets to the uk because I’ll finally be able to visit a close friend who moved there a few months ago and I’m soo excited ^^. Also I just talked to my dad and apparently we might visit family in Amsterdam too! Ah I’m so happy rn :)). Also I read all the light we cannot see (I'm starting to feel like a nerd OTL) and unfortunately I didn't enjoy [2]
it at all . Going in I was so sure I was going to love it since it’s being hyped so much and it sounded like something I'd really enjoy, but I’m not sure Ive ever been so disappointed by a book tbh. (probably very long procrastination fueled rant to follow). Firstly the plot is incredibly thin and the entire story is really predictable and inflated, and tbh sometimes the entire story just felt like a bit of an excuse to showcase as much of the authors [3]
very purple-prosey (is this a word? lol) writing as possible without worrying about any deeper meaning whatsoever. And I heard so much about his style and the way it was described, I was so sure I was going to like it, but unfortunately that wasn't the case either. There are some really beautiful sentences yes, but most of the time it felt like the author was like 'hey let's make this #poetic and just throw in 500 adjectives and half-baked metaphors before literally everything' so quite often[4]
it just felt kinda forced? My main problem was probably the pacing though (and the ending which was… anticlimactic to say the least (and not in a purposefully thought-provoking way but it felt more like he had just written himself in a bit of a corner)). The pacing was soo slow (and I usually really enjoy this!) and it wasn’t in a calm and serene way either but in a let's rush important scenes but sure let's talk about everything else in excruciating detail kind of way [5]
and I never really cared for any of the characters, no matter in how many delicate ways their *uniqueness* (one guy has white hair and it’s mentioned like 400 times) was described. Holy shit this got long! I didn’t know I had so many feelings about this lmao. well anyways I wasn’t really a fan of the book, but tastes differ and I mean almost everyone else seems to love it, so idk maybe you’d like it too. Ok I think I’m done now OTL. I hope you have a nice day! Lots of love ^^ [6] –coffee anon
LOL DON’T WORRY thank you for the long message!! :)
ahah yes - blue exorcist (I almost wrote blue orchids omg) and noragami are also some of my faves, mostly in terms of animation tbh, I can be so exigent with the art of the animation and these two are so well made. (and the characters are amazing as well - after finishing blue exorcist I spent quite a few weeks obsessing over yukio, he was such a fave of mine! and I absolutely adore yato)
YES I LOVE OLAFUR! you’ve probably listened to this one already (I think it’s his most popular) but near light is just so amazing. this one has helped me write a looot. :)
ALSO YOU’RE GOING TO AMSTERDAM *dies* it’s a city that’s definitely on my bucket list, right under tokyo. and even though I already went to london, I missed so many things I found out were there after coming back, so I really want to visit again T_T (besides.. all the merch I could buy LOL when it comes to that kind of stuff spain is really lacking)
also, thank you so much for your review of the light we cannot see, this is very eye opening! hmm, the thing is, I am having a hard time finding books that can help me improve my style. I want to stray away from YA books because I read too much of those when I was younger and they don’t have a style I look up to anymore, especially when it comes to their plots (usually driven by love triangles and werewolves or vampires, and I really want to read something different you know). I was considering the light we cannot see because everyone praises its writing, but now that you mention it, the reviews rarely mention the plot and/or the characters, which probably reflects how overshadowed those are by the author’s focus on the prose, and I really need enthralling plots to get hooked. hmm, I was going to buy it blindly, but now I think I’ll check it online first :)) then again, it could be good practice for me to read it even if the plot is lacking, since I also want to improve my narrative. (not to the point of throwing in 500 adjectives just to make it look pretty ahaha, but maybe I can learn some new vocabulary!)
talking about books, do you have any recommendations? like I said, I really want to read from authors that make me fall in love with both their writing and their story telling. I haven’t found much of that besides murakami. ;;; I am also trying to find books that are space related / futuristic and I found the Unwind series, which is also young adult but it seems to have plenty of good reviews, so I might give it a chance, but I’m still not sure. idk why, but I’m finding it soo hard to find books that I want to read. maybe I am just not looking in the right places ;_; anyway, I’ll probably let you know what I think of ‘all the light we cannot see’ when I give it a chance after my exams :))

Yukine. My son. My boy. I could mark the "I'm mentally ill about them" box for pretty much every character in Noragami, but out of all of them, Yukine is the one I'm the MOST mentally ill about. Just literally everything about his character makes me cry if I think about it for too long.
He's so good I want to protect him from the torture Adachitoka puts him through every chapter [kicks my fics under the rug]. On top of that, he's just so interesting as a character because he was this huge mystery for so long, yet we inferred everything we needed to know from the chapters leading up to his past being explored, even before we got the facts. I could go on for hours about Yukine.
Adachitoka's writing is masterful, and I think it's clearest with Yukine when you reread after learning his past and everything clicks into place.

I love Okabe. He's not bad enough to mark him down as a horrible person, but neither is he the type where I'd say he's never done anything wrong in his life.
Not sure if he's really deeper than he seems if you've played the VN and get a full brain scan, but he's definitely a great and interesting character because he's just this everyday, a little goofy, a little immature college kid who fucks around and finds out. And he doesn't WANT to be the guy who stopped WWIII, he literally only does it because he thinks it'll help the people he loves. I love that because it's such a departure from a protagonist being such a nice good person they save the world just because.
The "why do they look like that" is mostly because of how creepy he looks when he's doing his mad scientist spiel, which I'm sure is intentional, but still.

I don't have much to say about Mal. Book Mal sucks, show Mal has rights, hence "nothing I like about them is technically canon."
I didn't know it was possible to do the childhood friends to lovers trope INCORRECTLY, but boy did this book series pull it off. He's mean, he's selfish, I cannot for the life of me figure out why he's the love interest we're supposed to root for (don't get me wrong, the Darkling and Nikolai both suck as love interests too. Alina's arc should have been about her realizing she doesn't need anyone for her powers to work WHICH IS WHAT SHE LEARNED IN BOOK 1 AND THEN FORGETS ABOUT??? SMH). I think it's pretty telling that the Netflix show said they were going to make Mal more "likeable" and proceeded him to take the opposite actions he did in the books, every single time.
I wonder how they're going to do Siege and Storm, since 80% of the "plot" of that book hinges on Mal and Alina constantly arguing about dumb things and they made him nice in the show.
