i've been taking my time this playthrough, not rushing to do everything all at once and spacing out the exploring with side quests more than i did last time, and i'm not very far in yet but it already feels like the game flows a lot better this way
#i find it hard to criticize the pacing in most rpgs because it usually feels like it's largely controlled by the player#like i think it's a side effect of the genre? in my first playthrough i explored every single part of the map that i could without leaving#and did every companion quest/hangout as soon as i got them one after the other#which of course lead to me sometimes going hours between any new dialogue and leaving seemingly urgent quests on read for a looong time lol#which is not a problem exclusive to datv! every other da game has this issue too.. actually i can't really think of an rpg that doesn't??#anyway! this time i'm exploring the maps in sections and going back to the lighthouse more and idkkk it feels good#i've barely touched the crossroads yet whereas my first playthrough i had all the wolf statues before i even talked to inky#i have a feeling that spacing out solas' regrets will feel a lot better than binge-watching them lol#dee plays datv
