the amount of paranoid "there is cheating beware!!" promo Sara Cate had in the lead-up to The Home Wrecker is only topped by the amount of "there is pet play beware!!" promo Katee Robert had in the lead-up to Midnight Ruin

#and it has 2 purposes- warning people who dislike that stuff and getting people excited/curious #especially for people who dislike something like cheating and still read a book anyway... and then give a poor review #but i remember katee robert specifically got a lot of negative/questioning feedback when she first said there would be pet play #and she basically had to come out and say “dw guys it's not *super intense*” and give examples #which is annoying bc an author shouldn't have to defend choices like this esp. related to sex stuff #and it wasn't intense! but i also feel like she kinda played into that one
