Not related to anyone -- I just like saying it -- but if I hadn’t made it explicit before, I’ll note that while I acknowledge fanon-Zant, I largely disagree with it. He’s got the hilariously dweeby side, certainly, but I feel like he’s demonstrably a lot more dangerous and cunning and cruel than he’s given credit for. It’s only in very rare instances he’d be what we consider nice.

For comparison? You’re actually WAY more likely to walk away from a chat with Ghirahim none the worse for wear than you would Zant once he’s started on his decline.

#NOR THE FAINTEST BLOOM OF DESIRE ( zant : musings )#I love him deeply and dearly and it's because I find the dude a very compelling villain #much unique.#absolutely geeky but also ready to completely control his entire self with a will of Actual Iron for Years On End so that he can #not merely just destroy what he dislikes and pursue his goals - but actively and specifically go out of his way to leave the biggest sources #of his ire alive and hurting because that's his JAM.#whereas in Ghira's case it's largely just sort of him playing pretend but he's....actually not joking with the 'suppose I'll let you go;#unfair of me taking my rank and superior skill out on you' schtick and I do actually believe that's a Thing He Did Genuinely quite often #in that long interim between his freeing himself and SS happening. he can happily choose to ignore it but he has a much better sense of #fair play than Zant does. and in the meta sense a lot of what ends up going into Ghira is like -- weird existential Goddess Crisis #whereas Zant's inner workings and means of processing them....hold water but are way way way less sympathetic #I'm rambling what's up #REVALI’S WHOOSH IS NOW READY ( ooc. )
