just got past the fairygrounds again and. do you think they forgot oliver almost mcfucking drowned because like. if i was an autistic 13 year old that got launched into a river out of a mountain-high cannon with confetti and a shitload of fairies yelling about it right after fighting a massive jellyfish i'd be freaking the hell out. like logically i know they probably couldn't have made that go done how it probably would have but Man
TRUEEEE i think level 5 forgot everything about oliver when they were making wotww. and i think everyone should go play dotdd
#this is hyperbole oliver's character is still done. well.#before i played dotdd i thought he was perfect and a really well done character and i still think the latter#but now that i have played dotdd.#he's just so much better in dotdd that now looking at wotww oliver it's like .................. you're TOO perfect.#like they filed him down. he's too nice.#and i think it really shows in the segments of wotww that aren't in dotdd (like the fairyground)#where they DO forget he'd probably have some kind of reaction to the river!#and while i LIKE the choice for him to leave drippy behind it feels a little weird to me#because if i imagine dotdd oliver doing it it doesn't feel right.#meanwhile during the dotdd arc that the fairyground replaced#oliver physically cannot contain his laughter at esther and swaine arguing after just making up five seconds ago#and it's SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER MOMENT because it does multiple things it first of all shows oliver falling in love with ni no kuni#and their journey#and second of all it shows he has a terrible poker face. which is a known character trait. he's blunt and can't lie to save his life.#anyway. my point is dotdd oliver >>>>>>>>>>>> wotww oliver#ask#sorry for the tags rant but it's typed in here now so i'm not putting it in the main body

Black Arts' specialty wasn't even singing. His real show was magic. He was just doing favors throwing his big ego talent around. He was like that.
Valerie could see Thomas making a big fuss over her in the audience. Even while singing she noticed the whistled. That was a woman who never felt uncared for. He knew how to make her felt paid attention to like every act she did mattered. Not all people were like that. She knew this for a fact. They didn't pay attention so intent on being their own person they forget to show their partner they care there's a partnership at all and then wonder why it all went went wrong. This marriage was different. Valerie felt seen every day not just when it was convenient. It made moments like this feel even more alive than ever, even if it was just doing a favor for her friend's party. She felt arena worthy when Thomas was watching.
Did Delta glance in very direct ways at Frank noticing a couple times his thoughts, his physical prowess verses restraint. No doubt he'd have to notice how it amplfied her performance forcing her focus to remain on the music. It was like a challenge and those glances Frank points he'd know he won. There'd be a commentary running in her head like a sports commentator being wowed at the smooth transition back into play as she kept her footing. Secret inner games no one would ever know were being played right in front of them and probably never be spoken verbally otherwise. The two headed dragon ever non chalant about what they're doing even with a woody and some booty shaking dancing going on.
Scout would laugh at the change of underwear comment from GoGo. "I did not prepare."
But onto the main party crashers this evening.
Ghosts.
Pierre and Seven. Seven also glanced over and took in River's worn out appearance. "Is it just me or is he looking a little more... uh... deathly than us... and we been through Hell?" He quirked a brow and shook his head before smirking realizing this had to be some kind of score for Pierre despite... well... despite whatever. Or maybe it wasn't a win? He was always nice to look at. Now they have to look at... that. Seven tilted his head trying to figure it out. Death hadn't done River any favors.
Still, River wasn't Seven's biggest concern of the night. He went gunning for Zero. If he had one night on earth, the pup was his first stop no matter where Pierre wanted to go.
So, when the dance was over and Zero saw this lone clapping singly lingering even after the rest had died away, the dark image of the figure too familiar coming close, his jaw dropped. He spun a circle and then ran at him. He jumped up and hugged onto him like he'd never done in the past. Victor noticed and he couldn't help but smile. This was a good thing. He knew Seven.
Then for all they'd been through and all the time that had passed and all the vicseral bad reactions he'd given Pierre during the last days of his lifetime when he caught sight of him now his instinct wasn't the same. He pulled back from Seven. His innate reaction was a look of such sincere innocence. Pierre was right there again after all this time. So much time had passed. Time had a way of putting people (even dog-people) through a lot.
No matter how much he aged or more like didn't age the puppy like spirit of purity in his genuine reaction was there. He didn't run at him like Seven. But, he certainly wasn't acting anything like how he had the pre-funeral either, or even how he'd been skittish of the name around Maddy. This was very different. Zero waved at Pierre. His smile was his invite to come closer after all this time, but would he?
Seven noticed. The look on Zero's face couldn't have warmed Seven's heart any more after knowing how skittish he'd been. He wasn't the only one who saw who Zero was looking at. Victor noticed too. His face wasn't quite as fond of the reaction.
Pierre was a hard face to forget and not for the reason's Pierre might want to believe. That was a body he'd failed to put together on the slab try as he might. Everyone seemed glad he failed. He hated failure, not to mention what he dealt with with Zero. Upon the way things played out he was glad he failed later on. Now there he stood.
He had been clapping over the dance performance and the boom. All concentration lost even with Zero in those dance heels. He loved being able to and there were few chances he got a place that was appropriate to wear them. It wasn't like the theater had many parts where he got to. Victor got stuck and forgot to keep clapping. He was watching to see what Zero was about to do. He didn't exactly come running up to him. He just watched while all those old mixed emotions came rushing back after all the roles he's had to play in Zero's life.
Then there was Bastien. Much like Thomas and Frank, he had his eye on his wife during the dance. Maddy and all the junk she had in her trunk and the way she could shake that thang. Bastien leaned back against a castle wall and blazed one up as he watched because hot damn if he didn't he might need to wank one off and that probably wasn't appropriate. Probably. At least it wouldn't be too classy anyhow he supposed. Taking a few tokes helped him keep nice and calm and hands busy. That said it kept his eyes on the reaper wifey prize and it wasn't until after he went strolling up rather smug that this particular dancer was with him that he noticed more ghosts were about.
It was only because Zero ran passed him to Seven as he went in for a congrats you sexy thang lip lock to his wife. It made Bastien turn his head. Being stoned it took him a little longer to process Zero was with a once alive person, but it didn't take him long to go from Seven to Pierre. The two were so often together in life and now there they were in living-death too.
Now, Bastien hadn't really known Silas in life so he simply understood it was the shadow guy. But, Seven and Pierre he knew were dead, so this was a moment he was questioning his own eyes. He took Maddy's hand.
"Maddy. Maddy. Maddy. Reaper Maddy?" He patted her arm with his other hand and then motioned at Pierre and pulled her back a little further away. He blinked his eyes real tight and opened them just to be sure what he was seeing wouldn't disappear as things sometimes might. Sometimes he can blink and the world would change. It didn't change. Then he whispered. "I think I brought us into another world again. I didn't mean to. Don't get mad. I think I brought us into the wrong one. Look. Even's Victor's looking. Zero's looking. I think I brought the whole castle with us."
Then Victor and Laverne pulled on Bastien's shirt and Vic said, "I do believe you may have that backwards. They may have come into our world."
"Ohhhhhhh. Or they came into our world. I mean, maybe that's plausible too." Bastien nodded down at his feet as if talking to his invisible short statured friends. Then he looked up at Maddy again.
Delta got the information Frank was sending via mind link about Silas. She noted Pierre, Seven, River, and that the Fae Guard had been sent out for further security. It wasn't long before they reported back noticing a dark entity hiding in the cathedral ceiling column archways. Perched high in an aesthetic designed arch was Jetsam overseeing spying on the whole ballroom from above. It was almost like how he does from his out of realm way from the other side.
This time he was solid. No one knew he was there yet except for Delta and Frank, but she thought to herself, "It's a dead Laveau invasion. It's the one I like." She smirked and let that one go knowing it was the one that made her Hunch a wilder and more unique monster. If he was solid she had thought though that this meant he would most likely not be posessing the Hunch tonight since he had his own body for once. She just hoped he knew it was her that allowed him to use her Hunch so he better respect this place and if he causes chaos causes the kind she'd approve of. That's really all that went through her mind. Other than that she let him be.
Silas however was another story. He was never supposed to be in Feral, much less one of her circle. Chernabog's son. She considered.
"Let's go talk to him. We'll take him to the thrown room for a little chat, yeah?" Delta finally decided she wanted to approach him together, united, the two head dragon of Feral.
While all this was happening it was Koda that pointed Elsa to River. "Elsa... You have to look at the piano... now. Remember the drums? Look. Come on. You want to go over? I'm going over."
Koda couldn't be happier. He knew the Laveau family was going to be having a reunion tonight. His brothers and sister were about to be giving ghost noogies all around. He just knew it without a doubt.
Feral was all that was needed. In fact, Frank had some things in mind, some ideas on how to sort out who was allowed to come into their city, and who wasn’t, all while securing some entertainment for themselves at the same time. Some tests to see who was worthy of even coming in for a visit or whoever wanted to see the state of the once famous city. But more on that much later.
Maddy had a feeling that Bastien would be talking about meeting the Eyeball Queen for years to come. It felt like one of those moments that might stick out in his mind, stay rooted there, and never be forgotten.
She started to get dressed along with Piper, giggling excitedly about what was to come, chit-chatting with the other girls, asking how things were going, how were the babies, Praline must be getting big. She’d been practicing this a lot, even outside of Delta’s dance studio to make sure she got it right.
Ellie grabbed some punch and was sipping it, wearing her glittery blue outfit which stood out from everyone in their costumes and their gorgeous dresses. She didn’t regret her choice in the slightest, just having fun being … blue. She looked up to see Black Arts up on the stage, eyebrows raised. “Wouldn’t be surprised if he was just drawn to the piano like a giant magnet,” She mumbled. Seriously, seemed like everywhere Black Arts went, a microphone would follow. And this is without knowing what he was going to be doing on Valentine’s Day.
The only person to possibly ask is Figaro because they weren’t a part of the dance troupe, and they were super tight with Willem who was up on the stage too, but the Gilbert Garfield cat was talking to some of the fae, intriuged by the other species. So Ellie just looked back up at the stage with an eyebrow raised, up until Valerie came bursting in. “Ahh, there we go,” She grinned, wolf-whistling.
She wasn’t the only one either. Thomas wasn’t far from the stage, just smiling up at his love. Her voice always did something to him, like the vibrations of her vocal cords matched with the vibrations of his soul. He whistled too, even nudging a nearby fae and saying, “That’s my goddamn wife!”
Frank wasn’t as forthcoming with his adoration. He lit up a cigarette as the girls mimed it, holding it between his teeth in the leather garb, his eyes on Delta, every single motion that she made. Those hips. Those curves. His eyes didn’t dart to anyone else, not eve Valerie’s vocal cords could get his eyes away. He wanted her now. He wanted her bad, the tightness of his trousers showing that but he had no shame in that. The very restraint he was showing was admirable.
GoGo - well, the Laveaus all knew that she was only really coordinated on wheels. Not on any sort of dance floor. She definitely could bow her head to a skill far greater than her own on this one. And of course with the sexy girls dancing up on the stage, she’d nudge Scout. “Did you bring a change of underwear?”
And then there were ghosts, like a perfect spooky Halloween story.
“My hair is perfectly manly, thank you,” Pierre said, running his hands through it as he found himself earthbound on this Halloween night. And in some place familiar - not that Delta’s castle held many good memories for him. Dancing, music, Zero? He was there. He caught sight of River and then winced. “That’s not looking too good, dude.”
Of course Frank was tuned into Delta. Always. Literally, always. Their bond was so great that even if they were apart, they were in each other’s heads. The second she noticed River, he did too, his eyes narrowing once he got there. He never got over that grudge of River seeing Delta naked. Yes, he was well aware that it wasn’t his fault, and that Delta’s clothes had all burned off, but he shouldn’t have goddamn looked regardless. ‘I hate uninvited guests.’
He moved seamlessly through the crowd, body lithe though tall, towards the fae and whispered to them to tighten security.
Who knew who else was out there in the dark, creeping around. If Triton dared to show his face - well, Delta had seen what he had done to his own father in the river Styx. Dead or alive didn’t matter much. He didn’t like to have his life interfered with.
His mind was searching, breezing past - was that fucking Pierre? Ugh, that was going to be a nuisance. But then the interesting inner thoughts of Silas. He was familiar with Silas, considering the night that they had all gone to a drag bar. But the way that those thoughts were centered - he passed them on to Delta, so she would know what the boy was after. Fucking party-crashers.
