this is the kind of bullshit that makes me eyeroll so hard. why r u, as the author, making this explicit statement of your own opinion on what is and isn't cultural appropriation? why not give the reader the benefit of the doubt to think on the question on their own? why do u assume the reader agrees with u implicitly? i don't, in fact, agree with the author in this instance.

i don't think creating a game with a japanese protag and anime art style as non-japanese people is actually cultural appropriation lmao. they called the game ichigo for crying out loud. that's explicitly japanese and not just stealing japanese culture under the guise of artistic inspiration. should we never make art with different settings and cultures than what we're familiar with? are 12 year olds drawing with anime art style copied off the shows they watch culturally appropriating japanese art? is steven un*verse cultural appropriation bc it's inspired by and has elements of utena? c'mon.
