Lovely how Cory Doctorow coined the mind-bogglingly successful "enshittification", which, although attempting to encase a complex and real phenomenon, was such a throwaway rageblog term that it only caught on through his sheer charisma. And now everyone is trying to coin their own -ification to refer to microtrends under-or-adjacent-to that umbrella, mostly trying to give pedestrian names to the granular consumer inconveniences that are the natural results of commercial incentives that have been climbing up our socks like a basement flood since the 1980s. -ification just meaning "something kinda changed".
