Strange how society is...found a post on instagram about a historical figure and was going through comments to learn more. People were fighting each other on intelligence, saying things like "you can't spit facts!" etc. Sorry, this is not intelligence in the lease bit, fighting over small matters like jaahils is not intelligence. Being unkind in the process is not at all intelligence. All I saw was ignorance, pridefulness, and ego. How is that intelligent?
Anyone can do a google search and "spit facts" anyways, not impressive. Kindness and empathy, where did all of that go? That is more impressive, and that is true intelligence. If only people knew...

Taqwa Is The Goal! In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance. May Allah's peace and blessing be upon his beloved servant and messenger muhammad (saw) his entire household, companions and all that follows their footsteps till the last day. Salam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu. I hope we are all having a very productive ramadan? May Allah SWT accept all our deeds in this blessed month, have mercy on us, forgives us our sins and grants us all freedom from the fire of hell, amin. My dear brothers and sisters in islam, we all are witnessing how fast and scary the days of this month are passing and we are almost in the last part of this blessed month. Literally, its not just the days of ramadan that are passing so fast and coming to an end but also the days of our lives and also the days of this present world, and this reminds but what Allah SWT Has said in His holy book: The time of their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. (Qur'an 21:1) Let's ponder, reflect and flee to Allah for there's no doubt that we are getting closer to our death. As we all know that we are almost in the last part of this blessed month of ramadan i will like to remind myself and you all about the essence of fasting which is attaining 'taqwa' as Allah SWT Has clearly stated in qur'an: O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may have 'Taqwa' (Qur'an 2:183) So here clearly Allah SWT Has told us the fruit of fasting is to have 'Taqwa', so 'Taqwa' is the goal brothers and sisters! What is Taqwa? Linguistically speaking the word 'taqwa' was derived from the root 'wa qa ya' which means to guard against, preserve, shield and prevent. While theologically the word 'taqwa' is so difficult to translate in English, in fact there's no single word in English that will exactly explain what 'taqwa' really means but its usually rendered as: Fear (of God), conscious (of God), cognizant (of God), love (for God), awe (of God), piety, righteousness, piousness, self-restraint, virtue, weariness, being careful, forbearance, abstinence, cognizant of truth and rational reality. Literally, 'taqwa' also means "to protect", in general, to protect yourself from the wrath of Allah SWT by not indulging in things He (Allah) forbids or a means of guarding against those things which brings Allah's displeasure. Some scholars defined 'taqwa' as following the commands of Allah SWT and avoidance of His prohibition inwardly and outwardly with a sense of the glorification, reverence, awe and fear of Him. In his tafsir of surah baqara (qur'an chaper 2) Ibn Kathir (Rahimahullah) mentioned that the root meaning of 'taqwa' is to avoid what one dislikes, and he also mentioned that it was reported that: Umar Ibn Khattab (ra) asked Ubayy bin Ka`b (ra) about Taqwa. Ubayy (ra) said, "Have you ever walked on a path that has thorns on it?'' Umar (ra)said, "Yes.'' Ubayy (ra) said, "What did you do then?'' He (Umar) said, "I rolled up my sleeves and struggled.'' Ubayy (ra) said, "That is Taqwa.'' Sheikh AbdulNasir Jangda (Rahimahulla) said in his khutbah 'Ramadan Prep' a week to ramadan that 'taqwa' means that you become so aware of yourself (self awareness) and also become aware of your surroundings and also benefitted by the knowledge of what Allah SWT wants you to do and what He (Allah) Has told you not to do and while maintaining all of that recognizing the fit falls that are around you, the dangers that you're surrounded by and then being so self aware that you're going to be extra careful of the path you're walking through, and then beget your life and think of what you're doing before you do it.Β Finally, the word 'taqwa' along with its derivatives, has been mentioned more than 250 times in the Qur'an. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE HAVE TAQWA? Abu Ammar, Sheikh Dr. Yasir Qadhi (rahimahullah) said the following about the above heading: What happens when we have taqwa? Many things, our lives become meaningful, we've a purpose driven life, if we don't have taqwa we are like animals, if we don't have taqwa we don't have a purpose of living. So when we have taqwa our lives becomes stable, our lives becomes meaningful, our families, our societies there will be laws and orders, when the civilization have taqwa we gain peace, we gain law and order, right is right and wrong is wrong. When taqwa is eliminated there's no right and wrong, there's no good and evil, everything becomes permissible just as we are seeing in many civilization and societies. So with taqwa we get life, we get purpose, we get stability, we get values, we get a purpose of living so our whole existence becomes meaningful. HOW TO ATTAIN TAQWA? I will like to mention just two (2) points on how to attain 'taqwa': -By worshipping Allah -By fear of Allah -By worshipping Allah: under this i will like to state just one verse from the qur'an in surah baqara to support this point, which is: O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may acquire Taqwa. (Qur'an 2:21) From the above mentioned verse we can clearly see that worshipping Allah SWT results to having 'taqwa' -By fear of Allah: here am going to mention one single hadith to support this point, and the hadith is about what the messenger of Allah (saw) has told mu'adh bn jabal (ra) when he sent him to yemen: O mu'adh! Fear Allah SWT wherever you may be, follow a bad deed with good deed and it will erase it, and deal with people in a good manner. And Allah knows best! WHY TAQWA? Why 'taqwa'? Did you ever ask yourself 'why does Allaah SWT want us to have 'taqwa'? Did u ever think of why does Allah SWT want us to have 'taqwa'? Did u ever reflect on why is it that Allah SWT will make the most blessed month among the months of the lunar calendar the month of fasting and all in order for us to have 'taqwa'? I guess we all know why! Its without doubt because of His (Allah) mercy upon us, its for our own benefit of course. I will like each and everyone of us to understand that even what we all know about what Allah SWT Has said in the famous hadith qudsi that: "Fasting is for Me (Allah) and i will reward it" Even after that we all have to understand that its because of how merciful Allah is towards us and surely with no any doubt its for our own benefit. And the following few verses about 'taqwa' from the qur'an will no doubt make us all understand why i said its for our own benefit and good: - Guidance is granted to those who have taqwa: This is the Book, in which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who have 'taqwa'. (qur'an 2:2) - The reward of those who have 'taqwa' is better than all of the joys of this world: Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire -Β of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return. Say, "Shall I inform you of [something] better than that? For those who have 'taqwa' of Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah . And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants. (qur'an 3:14-15) - Allah SWT loves those who have 'taqwa': But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and have 'taqwa' of Allah -Β then indeed, Allah loves those who have 'taqwa'. (qur'an 3:76) - Jannah (paradise) is prepared for those who have taqwa: And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for those that have 'taqwa'. (qur'an 3:133) - Taqwa brings success in this world and the next: O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and have 'taqwa' of Allah that you may be successful. (qur'an 3:200) - Blessing comes with 'taqwa': And if only the people of the cities had believed and have 'taqwa', We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning. (qur'an 7:96) - Expiation of sins, forgiveness and increase in reward for those that have 'taqwa': O you who believe! If you have 'taqwa' of Allah, He will grant you a criterion, and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you; and Allah is the Owner of the great bounty. (qur'an 8:29) ...and whosoever has Taqwa of Allah, He will expiate from him his sins, and will increase his reward. (qur'an 65:5) - Those that have 'taqwa' are friends/allies of Allah: Unquestionably, [for] the allies/friends of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve Those who believed and have 'taqwa'. For them is good news, in the life of the present world, and in the Hereafter. No change can there be in the Words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme success. (qur'an 10:62-64) - Allah is with those who have 'taqwa': Truly, Allah is with those who have Taqwa, and the doers of good. (qur'an 16:128) - Those who had taqwa will be saved from falling into hell fire: There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord, a decree which must be accomplished. Then We shall save those who had Taqwa. And We shall leave the wrongdoers in it, on their knees. (qur'an 19:71-72) - The good end is for those who have 'taqwa': And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, And the good end is for those who have Taqwa. (qur'an 20:132) - Those that have 'taqwa' are the successful ones: And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, fears Allah, and has Taqwa of Him, such are the successful. (qur'an 24:52) - Evil shall not touch those that have 'taqwa' nor will they grieve on the day of judgment: And Allah will deliver those who have 'taqwa' to their places of success. Evil shall touch them not, nor shall they grieve. (qur'an 39:61) - Those that have 'taqwa' will be led to jannah (paradise) and they'll be received with 'Salam Alaykum': And those who had Taqwa will be led to Paradise in groups till when they reach it, and its gates will be opened and its keepers will say: "Salam `Alaykum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein forever.'' And they will say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah Who has fulfilled His promise to us and has made us inherit the land. We can dwell in Paradise where we will; how excellent a reward for the workers!'' (qur'an 39:73-74) - Only friends that have 'taqwa' will remain friends on the day of judgment: Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except those who have Taqwa. (qur'an 43:67) - Honor is earned through 'taqwa': O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (qur'an 49:13) - Jannah (Paradise) will be brought to those who have 'taqwa' on the day of resurrection: On the Day We will say to Hell, "Have you been filled?" and it will say, "Are there some more," And Paradise will be brought to those who had Taqwa, not far off. (It will be said): "This is what you were promised - (it is) for those returning in sincere repentance, and keeper (of his covenant). "Who feared Ar-Rahman unseen and brought a heart turned in repentance.'' "Enter you therein in peace and security -this is a Day of eternal life!'' There they will have all that they desire - and We have more. (qur'an 50:30-35) - Qualities and reward of those who jave 'taqwa': Verily, those who have Taqwa will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this doers of good. They used to sleep but little by night. And in the hours before dawn, they were asking for forgiveness. And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. (qur'an 51:15-19) - Description of the destination of those that have 'taqwa': Verily, those who have Taqwa will be in gardens and Delight. Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire. "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do.''
