In 1927, Paramount Studios had this funny map, detailing which parts of California could substitute for which global locations. It was too expensive to fly around the world to film their movies. So they made California into the world.

#what exactly is supposed to be labeled 'Nile'? is that Monterey #or Carmel Valley? ...actually i could kinda see Carm Valley #likewise if 'New England Coast' is supposed to be Santa Cruz hell no it aint. but if it's like.buttfuck uhh Elkhorn Slough? i could see it #love that they labeled San Luis Obispo as 'Spanish California' like gee ya think?#(or maybe that's SB idk im not good at geography. same difference anyway it's an overpriced stone's throw between the two)
